Vehicle will down shift randomly and still haven't heard back from ford about a remedy it's an open recall
Transmission shifted in to 2nd at 50 mph..lost control hit a fence pole..blew up my tranny..nobody will help with towing
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford f-150. the contact stated that the transmission failed and the vehicle exhibited engine oil failure. the vehicle was taken to randall reed's planet ford (19000 eastex fwy, humble, tx 77338, (866) 844-5995) where it was determined that the vin was excluded from nhtsa campaign number: 19v075000 (power train) and nhtsa campaign number: 11v128000 (electrical system). the manufacturer was contacted. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the failure mileage was 172,245.
Only 98,000 miles on this very well maintained truck. no engine issue, no issues at all,, and as i accelerated to pass a slow moving vehicle, which means my turbos kicked in, my engine blew up. there was a clunck and then nothing. there is actually a hole in my engine block. this never should have happened. this engine is not built to withstand the turbos. i am aware of this happening to 4 other people with the exact same ecoboost motor. i have contact d ford and no one will take responsibility for this.
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford f-150. while driving 65 mph, there was an explosive sound under the hood. the driver was able to coast the vehicle onto the road shoulder. the vehicle was towed to the contact's home. an independent mechanic arrived and found that one of the engine pistons failed and penetrated the engine, which caused the engine to explode. the vehicle was taken to an unknown dealer, but was not repaired. the manufacturer was contacted and provided case number: 24890103. the approximate failure mileage was 120,000.
While driving on hwy at 55mph the transmission shifted from 6th to 3rd gear causing the truck to rapidly slow down mid traffic was able to pull over to the shoulder and stop this is the second time took it to the dealer they did something worked for a little but did not fix problem.
Timing chain stretch, code p0016
The timing chain was stretched and the end result is a bad engine. i purchased the truck in 2015 and only put 40,000 miles on it. the truck has a total of 110,000 miles . this model (ecoboost)has had numerous issues with the timing chain and ford refuses to do anything about it because it's not a " safety hazard ". i did the oil changes always at the recommended time and took good care of the truck. i reached out to the ford dealership i purchased it from and they will not help. in fact , i was told by the service department manager they were surprised this didn't happen sooner. this is a notorious issue and fords dirty little secret.
Throttle body needs replaced after 120000 miles after car stalled into 'limp mode' going highway speeds causing a dangerous situation. truck diagnosed at baxter ford south in omaha ne and anderson ford in libcoln ne. this is a safety concern when the truck gave no warning signs and just hesitated and slowed down with little or no response to throttling. there are hundreds of cases of this with the ford f-150 2011. there have been other fords around that year that have had throttle body issues. i don't know why this is. it a recall?
The truck on its own downshifted to 1st gear while driving on the freeway at 65-70mph. the check engine light came on. this happened 3 times. the obd error code p0720. the dealer could not find anything wrong with it and returned it without any updates to the software or replacing the speed sensor.
Loss of power while driving on interstate . whether accelerating to pass or the need to accelerate in any instance or any time!! in a recent trip via interstate the truck lost power !! if i would have been traveling on secondary roads and attempting to pass , i do not believe i would have made it. check engine light came on! i brought it to the repair shop and they ran tests on it and said it did code dtcp0016 when deleting the code it would come back!!! i have parked the truck and was told there were numerous complaints to the ntsb on same problems. i bought the truck new and it only has 56000 miles on it an the ford service said it was out of warranty i believe this is a safety problem that needs to be addressed!!!
Driving about 80 miles per hour, the engine battery light and overheating light came on, pulled over to find that the pulley by the idler pulley came off with part of the engine block. this should not have happened.
Truck had had a recall on the issues that we are having. now we have been told that recall no long exist and that it was taken off of recall. we are having trouble with the transmission range senor circuit. code p705 and it's hoing to cost almost 600.00 to fix. is there still at recall on this?
The engine revs and rpm suddenly increase regardless of gear. after the mph and rest of front display goes blank. after pulling over shutting of engine and restarting the truck the system resets. very dangerous at high speeds.
My check engine light came on, code scanned was p0016. the code scanner states it's an issue with the timing chain loosening over time. the truck has a very prominent rattle sound for about 2-3 seconds upon an initial start up in the cold weather. the other day i went to pass someone, and lost power in the engine and my truck would not accelerate past the car. ford is aware of the issue, as people all over the country and canada are having the same issue with 2011-2012 ford f150 with the ecoboost engine. to me this seems like an obvious safety issue that ford should take care of. seems like an engineering flaw to me. the timing chain coming loose, and engine rattling like it's coming apart has to be causing damage as time goes on. the problem i had while trying to pass the car was on a lane 55mph road.
