Recently reported POWER TRAIN problems on 2010 Ford Fusion

1st time, i was stopped at a red light after driving 50 miles when the light turned green, i stepped on the gas, the car rev'd like the car was in neutral and would not go into gear. after several tries, it went into gear and drove ok. the 2nd time, i was traveling about 60 mph, and the car started reving at 4,000 rpms and lost all power. i pulled over, put it in neutral and back in gear several times till it started again. i pulled out again on the 4 lane and the car continued reving at around 4,000 rpms and had no power so i got off the road again. the "wrench" trouble light lit up. i turned the car off, sat about 5 minutes, started it back up and it worked fine. i took it straight to a ford dealer who could not find out what was wrong with it.

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. while driving 25 mph, the transmission failed to shift into second gear and the engine reduced power and check engine warning lights illuminated. the contact mentioned that the vehicle was recently repaired under nhtsa campaign number: 15v793000 (fuel system, gasoline). the vehicle was not taken to the dealer. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 123,000.

Delayed shifting, engine revs with little pressure on gas pedal and car lurches forward violently.

On friday november 6th 2015 after doing some appointments and errands, i started my car in the parking lot and a warning lit up "power steering assist fault" and the car would not steer. when i put it in drive another warning came on "advance trac failure" with a picture of a car swerving. i drove it to my mechanic steering with great difficulty and care about three blocks away. he told me i needed a new drive train but the ford dealer said the part was on national back order, they could not say how long it would take to get. my car is 5 years old with 136,000 miles. i have never had any other issues with this vehicle and this happened very suddenly for the first time. my car is well maintained and serviced regularly. ford motor co and two dealers say this is not under warranty because of the mileage and the part alone cost $1649.00. they all said they have never heard of this problem happening before now but their are many complaints of this problem that have been reported to nhtsa. is this being investigated for possible recall?

As we drove over the overpass, slowing to come to a stop sign onto the four lane into town, our car suddenly stopped in the driving lane. we were later told the ptu assembly locked up internally, making the car immediately unmovable forward nor backwards until replaced. no history nor symptoms of issues before this. it would have contributed to a large accident in the heavy traffic, if it had occurred earlier in the day as it could not be moved, nor had we any signs at the time. we were stuck in driving lane late in the evening, waiting on a tow truck to haul it to dealership. they replaced it, at our expense, with the mechanic, noting he had the same issue with the same make and model of his own. we were also told there was no recall nor egress for us to resolve this any other way. we have the payment and service order available for review. this is quite disturbing, as it was over $1800 out of pocket for just this repair, which i found was a more common issue than was previously thought. i found our that there was a recall, but for only certain plants, although others noted the same issues as well. to know that there is a recall for this same issue, but only in certain plants is a concern, as they know of the issue and hazards of it, but did not feel it pertinent to relay this to the general public who used their product, at their expense, not knowing of risks. i just found out of this avenue today to help others know of this and take action to avoid further issues and safety risks.

I have a 2010 ford fusion sel awd v6 which i purchased about 2 years ago. i have started noticing shifting problems with my car. it first started about 3 weeks ago now. the car acted like it couldn't figure out what gear to go in, while making a left turn through traffic it hesitated a lot & then figured out what gear to get into, barely avoiding an accident. i was then coming back from the airport with my sister & it clammed down in gears as we started to stop & then lunged forward 2 times almost hitting the car in front of me. i have taken it into the shop & they said they needed to reflash the pcm, this was done the day before yesterday. i got it back yesterday & it started doing the exact same things. i have seen that a recall notice was sent out to some people years ago with a time limit on getting this fixed. recall notice 10b15. it said it ended in april of 2011. can thr be a time limit on this sort of thing? some people don't have $1,000's of dollars to fix cars. what can someone do to correct this issue.

While stopped at red light and stop signs attempting to turn, the vehicle would rev itself corresponding with a rapid increase/decrease in rpm. upon acceleration the car would stutter and the engine turned off while allowing me to enter the intersection resulting in very close calls. this has been recurring with more frequency.

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. while driving 55 mph, the vehicle lost speed and failed to accelerate when depressing the brake pedal. the instrument panel light illuminated. the contact coasted the vehicle over to the side of the road and restarted the vehicle. the failure recurred twice. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 78,000.

This is the second occasion in 2 years that i am having to have the transmission replaced in my car due to leaving axle seals that continue to leak transmission fluid after replacement. the car has a hard shift between 1st and 2nd gear as well as 2nd to 3rd. i have had the seals replaced three times. the cv joints have been replaced and the transmission was replaced in 2014. it is now 2015 and i am having the same issue i had last year with the same cost associated with the repairs. i am currently waiting on approvals from my extended warranty company to complete the needed repairs. this is also my 2nd complaint for this issue with safercar.gov.

I was accelerating from a stop light. i have a 2010 ford fusion manual transmission 4-cylinder engine. i had just shifted into 2nd gear and was at about 15 mph when the car suddenly stopped accelerating. the powertrain warning light came on the dash. the engine was idling - but i was unable to accelerate the car. fortunately, there was no one behind me, and traffic was not impeded. i pulled to the side of the road and verified electrical systems were working. the engine felt rough. i turned off the ignition and let the car sit for about 15 seconds. i started the car back up, and it ran without issue. i searched online, and found similar complaints on other fusions. i took the car to a ford dealership and they replaced the throttle body as well as the fuel valve. leading up to this, i had noticed some symptoms of shuddering, but, it coincided with a new tank of fuel. i planned to put a new tank of fuel in and see if the problem persisted. the car died prior to a new tank. this is a serious safety issue given that it can easily result in being rear-ended.

While driving the car shuts off automatically & the battery/oil light come on. i am able to start the car again after some time, but once i shift the car into gear (d or r) the car shuts off again. very dangerous especially if i am on a highway. this has been an ongoing problem for 3 weeks now. i've had diagnostics done on the car & no one can pin point what the problem is because they say the check engine light doesn't come on. also, since last week the car is hesitating & the rpm goes way high & then drops. the car is not shifting it's gears properly. i've only had this car for 1 year & i purchased it used. i am so disgusted & disappointed. a lot of my friends laughed at me when i told them i purchased a "ford" car. they all say, well, that's what happens when you buy a "ford". they are sh.. cars.

Driving at a speed of 60 mph on level road. a warning light (wrench) illuminated on my dash and within approximately 10-15 seconds afterwards the car stopped accelerating. while i was pressing the gas pedal, the car would only rev up and would not pull. so while coasting, i was able to maneuver the car to the side of the road and come to a complete stop. i shifted the car into park and turned it off. waited 10-15 minutes and then restarted the car, the warning light (wrench) was not illuminated. i then shifted the car into drive and it operated normally. acceleration was ok and the vehicle drove as though nothing had happened.

Transmission is leaking just like the hundreds of others i'm reading about on forums and it sounds like a very common problem that must be constantly repaired.

I am receiving numerous "power steering assistance failure" warnings. it happens upon starting my car and it's now becoming more frequent. the result is a total loss of power steering. i know ford has recalled this item but my year (2010) was excluded. i believe this is a significant enough safety issue to warrant an addendum to the recall to include the year 2010.

On saturday 08/08/2015 i had a close call. my ford fusion lost all acceleration and power. i was going about 55mph and was able to get out of the middle lane but almost got hit from behind about 3 times. my wife was in the car and was so scared that she took a taxi home and would not get back in the car. i am very concerned that ford doesn't want to take responsibility for this problem, or maybe when something major happen that is when they will step in but it will be too late. i recently spend $350 to get my passenger seat belt fix and i am going to make another appointment to get this loss of power fixed too. i do not want to keep my ford anymore but i am also afraid to sell to someone and have that person risk their life to drive this vehicle. please help anyone!

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. while driving at approximately 75 mph, the accelerator pedal was depressed but the vehicle failed to accelerate as the maintenance warning light illuminated. the failure recurred numerous times. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 155,000.

Suspected crack in fuel tank due to smell of gasoline under car continuous since summer of 2015, plus clutch regularly slips now also as though problem in transmission.

The transmission cooling lines completely corroded end to end resulting in a catastrophic failure of the transmission. fortunately, this occurred locally and was able to bring the car back to my residence. should the need arisen to accelerate away from oncoming traffic or avoid an accident, the failure of these lines would have prevented that and could have resulted in an accident or fatality. for a car that is only 5 years old, there is an inordinate amount of corrosion on the frame and suspension components of this car. i compare this to a 14 vw golf with 160,000 miles and 7 year old bmw with 108,000 and neither exhibit corrosion of this magnitude. through ford fusion/mercury milan/lincoln mkz forums that this is a common occurrence. i have been in touch with my local ford dealer and have that this part is back ordered over 10 days resulting in the need to rent a car.

I was driving down the road, accelerating through an intersection when the car jerked, stalled or became unresponsive to accelerating. i could only brake but the radio and a/c were fine and kept right on, the car just would not go. so i slowed down, pulled over, turned the key off, let the car sit a moment, then i turned the car on again. it started up no problem and i drove away. this has happened multiple times accelerating down the road gong anywhere between 25-60mph. after each incident the car seems to have a slight hesitation or so i feel, maybe i'm just being sensitive to the car so i can read it correctly. but each computer problem printout at a non dealership parts store shows nothing is wrong. the wrench warning light comes on when the car stalls during accelerating and the light turns off once i have restarted the car.

The night we bought this car, used from a ford dealer, it wouldn't go in reverse without jumping/bucking. they were swift to give us a loaner while they "reprogramemd" the car. now, it all makes sense. they put a bandaid on it until we couldn't return it. since then, just over 2yrs ago, we have had throttle replaced x3, cleaned once for $250 (while on the way south for vaca, we got stuck hundreds of miles from hm until ford dealer opened 2 days later.) this car has stranded us three diff times while out of state on vaca. now while on interstate, the wrench light will go on, the car starts bucking and acting like a manual in the wrong gear. but, has no acceleration. just revs to 4k-6k rpms. dangerous almost being run over by semis going full speed behind you or having to try and cross 5 lanes of traffic to get to emergency lane--with no acceleration! this car is a dangerous death trap. shocking to me how ford hasn't stood behind their vehicles. we, as a huge extended family, have always stood behind ford. always bought ford. now, we have been duped by them. they knowingly sold us a faulty car, putting thousands of other buyers in danger as well, and haven't done a thing to prove to the consumers that they care about us as customers or one iota about our lives. if ford doesn't recall these, i know we will see deaths from it. its prob going to be the next automotive world scandel like the airbags. our fusion is an expensive piece of metal, with a huge pymt, just sitting in our driveway useless. somehow, we have to figure a way to save thousands for a transmission on a 6yr old car. never thought ford would turn out to treat their loyal customers this way.

I was driving the fusion when the power steering suddenly went out. it is nearly impossible to turn and could cause a serious accident if it goes out while being driven, as mine did. after parking the car, the advance trac and power steering service lights came on. unacceptable in a car less than 5 years old!!!!

Throttle body failure: i was driving on a major highway when my speed dropped down to pretty much 0 i was pressing the gas and the car would not still go. then it started to shake and the wrench light came up on the dashboard as i'm still trying to press the gas it still will not go anywhere. i had to pull over to the side of the road immediately because cars were starting to approach me. when i pulled over i had to cut the car off let it sit for a few minutes and try again. from june 15, 2015 this car has done this either everyday or every other day, i was coming from work came off the interstate i-485 and the car started to do the same thing a dump truck was behind me and almost hit me in the back. i had to pull over in the gravel beside the road to avoid this accident, i have a 4yr old son that i'm afraid to even let ride with me because i'm afraid i want be able to pull over in time enough with him being in the back seat he would feel the impact of us being hit. this is highly dangerous when this car goes into this mode you don't have any kind of warning when it does. on my way to work several mornings the car would do this at least 3 times i travel on 2 major highways that are here in monroe/charlotte, nc hwy 74 and i-485. traffic is pretty much bumper to bumper every morning and every evening there are times i'm afraid i'm not gonna have enough time to pull over. i'm a single parent that feels this car has put me and my son's life in danger!!! ford should be held responsible for this and from my research i've done i'm not the only ford owner having this problem. this is highly dangerous and not safe i had faith in ford up until this point. this should be a recall on this care because of the loss of speed while driving you have no control over the car all you can do is pull over it's like the car is in neutral and someone is pushing it.

Advance steering service light came on, once i stopped and restarted the car had no power steering. i let the car die and let it reset itself (battery disconnected) and put it back together still no steering went to a shop they saw 2 codes one was to due with the electronic steering the other was transmission failure due to the the steering code issue.

I was driving down the highway at approximately 65mph and came up behind a truck doing about 50mph. i changed lanes and went to pass the truck. as i passed the truck my car accelerated slowly and seemed to not switch gears at the right time, causing a hard shift and a "chug" feel. i passed the truck and slowed down to 60mph and as the car shifted again, it caused another hard shift and "chug" feel. this seems to be a common issue with ford fusions. mine didn't start happening until after the pcm update recall that was done on 2/26/15. i took it into ford after it happened the first time and they told me that since there is no wrench on the dash and no check engine light with a code, they can't find anything wrong and cannot replicate the problem i described to them. this is ridiculous that many cars have an issue but it looks like since there is no one that has been significantly injured or killed in an accident due to it, that it isn't being fixed. please recall this and fix it before someone loses their life from this.

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. while driving approximately 70 mph, the accelerator pedal suddenly failed to respond and decelerated to a speed lower than 20 mph with no warning. the contact had to coast the vehicle over to the side of the road and restarted the vehicle to reset the computer each time the failure recurred. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was not available.

I was driving on the expressway when the wrench light came on. i went to see what the code was at autopart store and it read transmission over heating. about a week later same thing happened , i went to dealer and paid to put it on machine to find out same thing. now i notice the transmission slips and acts funny and as of today light came on again. now i will have to pay again to put on the machine. i read online how this is a problem with a lot of ford fusions.and ford has no solution. shouldn't ford look into this problem better?

Hello i have a 2010 ford fusion i was driving to get on highway to merge left. when i accelerated i was at 55 mph when the car suddenly down shifted i took my foot off the gas and then proceeded to accelerate again slowly. not to say a car almost hit me from behind because of the downshift problem. it also happens when i start from a stopped position i accelerate and it makes a loud noise and downshifts then the transmission kicks in. please recall these cars before someone gets killed.

I was taking my wife to work, as we began to merge into traffic there was a loss of power due to slippage, harshness, and violent shifting in the transmission. i was afraid we were going to cause an accident so i pulled over to allow traffic to pass by. since then, its been an ongoing occurrence with this issue. we've been to the ford dealership a few times to address this problem but still it has not been resolved. upon further investigation via internet i have noticed that we aren't the only ones experiencing this issue. as a husband, father, and consumer i believe that the manufacturer should be held liable for multiple faulty equipment complaints, especially those that can cause serious or fatal accidents if not address.

I was driving for about an hour down the freeway in cruise control. the car jerked slightly and went limp, decelerating while maintaining a rough idle around 1000 rpm's. the gas pedal was non-responsive while idling and i was able to coast off to the side of the road where there was no throttle response. the wrench light was on the dash. i turned the car off and tried to start it again, it started fine and i was able to drive it the rest of the way home without further incident. i have been afraid to drive anymore on the freeway since or any serious length knowing there is a serious issue with the vehicle. this is a terrible feeling knowing i have a fairly new car that i cannot trust to drive safely in. i have read others stories about this problem and seriously hope the vehicle's issues do not cause me to be involved in any accident on the freeway at high speeds. there is obviously an issue with a serious flaw and needs to be addressed.

While driving approx. 55mph, the car started sputtering and shaking like it was running out of gas, the wrench light came on, and it decelerated to just under 20mph. the rpm's would jump up and down but the car would not accelerate no matter how much i pushed the gas pedal. i pulled over, shut the car off, and restarted it and the problem had stopped. thinking it was okay to drive, i tried again and it started up fine, no warning lights came on, and it drove fine for about 10 miles then the same issue started again. i had to limp it home at about 20mph because it would not accelerate again and once again it ran fine after shutting the car off and restarting it. *tr

I was driving at approximately 60mph on a highway and the engine suddenly revs but all the power is gone. the engine couldn't maintain a gear and started decelerating in the middle of traffic while the little service wrench light came on. i had to quickly get off the road and to safety before i was run off it. *tr

Ford fusion transmission oil leaks from left side half shaft area. had transmission work done at 30,000 from screwed up transmission. was told seal was too small and ford new and would replace if those affected brought in for repairs. now at 70,000 miles, leak as listed above with trans slip as so many posted on internet and going through the same situation. ford will not repair since they have not been informed that it is a recall item. how many do you need to get this fixed before it becomes a danger driving and trans slips when cold and have to keep filing trans fluid. i bought brand new and still in my possession. car taken well care of in my possession. *tr

1. the power steering went bad in dec. 2014/ cost $1600 to fix. done at crossroads ford in kearney ne. 2. less than 1 month later in jan. 2015, the transmission started leaking fluid and had other issues with shifting. looks like now i'll have to put in a new transmission. 2010 ford fusion se with 109,000 miles. *tr

Vehicle started leaking transmission fluid. it remained as small drips and not in any heavy volume. took the vehicle to ford to be diagnosed and mechanic stated that a bushel needed to be added to the transmission and the seal needed to be replaced. mechanic also stated that the bushel is not currently installed in the vehicle (stock) but that ford recommends that one be added. total cost of the repair was around $1100. it doesn't seem very fair that ford recognized that they needed to add that additional part to the car to keep it from leaking transmission fluid but hasn't issued a recall for the installation of the part. instead they expect hard working americans to pay out of pocket for their mess up. one more reason to buy foreign - if american car companies want the support of the american consumer they should stop screwing them over for a profit and take care of their needs. *tr

I own a 2010 ford fusion with only 31,500 miles. the lh half axle stated to hemorrhage transmission fluid. it was about 3 weeks out of warranty. this is a common issue from what my research shows. *tr

Vehicle shuts down while cruising on the freeway. the wrench light came on. lost control of throttle and had to pull over to the shoulder. the car wouldn't rev up or anything. after turning the car off and starting it back up again it drove fine and the wrench light disappeared.

My mother was driving to knoxville to drop christmas gifts off to are family in bristol tn. the service power steering light came on and then the advance track light. the power steering shut down on her totally while driving the vehicle on the interstate. she has a medical condition in her hands were she would not have the physical strength too drive the car either. so she got it to the emergency on were then i had to drive 4 hours to pick her up while she is stuck on the side of the highway in danger at all times there till someone arrived its a very occurring problem she could of killed her self or others

I have a 4-year new ford fusion 2010, manual shift transmission. on 12/17/14, while i was driving at approx. 40 mph on a busy road putting my car on gear 4, all of a sudden, the wrench light lit up, and the car jumped violently as if it was at gear 1 or something. startled, i gently pushed the gas pedal a bit more, that didn't help; tried again, still violently jump. i hit the clutch, pressed the break pedal just enough to steer my car off the road to a parking lot. after turned off the engine, checked the car, then started the engine again, the wrench wasn't lit, and i drove away. -- this was the first time the trouble occurred. before the problem re-occurred on 12/20/14, i noticed several sudden accelerations, and sudden stalls while i was driving. the 2nd time the wrench light lit up, same problem: car jump, felt like on gear 1 while actually on gear 3 for a while, have to stop in the middle of the road and re-ignite the engine to get the car moving again. local ford dealer did diagnosis and concluded the throttle control body was bad, to fix the problem they must replace the throttle control body and charge me $450. they said there is no warranty on the throttle control body, and parts do go bad sometimes. really, in 4 years? for a well maintained, garaged car at 34k mileage? the problem smells like a defect, not a standard wear and tear, why should i pay for replacing a defect part? how do i know whether the new part is not a defect again? i'm scared of driving on high way. *tr

Wrench light comes on and the car does not accelerate! whole vehicle shakes. feels like the car is going to just die. not happy with the car!!! *tr

Wrench light comes on. ford is trying to say it's covered because the wrench light is on, and then bring you in to the shop to pay $2000 for a valve body in the transmission. they are pulling the wool over the nhtsa by making it seem like they have covered it when it's something entirely different. should have bought a nissan. basically the car doesn't accelerate. come the time i might get hit by a car, i wont be able to accelerate properly. *tr

Traveling at 55mph i suddenly lost power in engine and was unable to shift into another gear. my engine slowed to a rough idle. i safely was able to pull to roadside and turned off the car. i restarted the vehicle noting a rough start but the car performed normally after i began driving it down the road. about a half hr later i was traveling at 35mph with the same thing occurring, i was able again to pull safely off the road and able to turn off and restart the car noting again a rough start but the car performed again normally and the wrench went away again. i went to a service center and hooked my car to a computer finding p code 2111 with actuator stuck open. ford initially told me this was my issue to fix when i called. the second time i called i spoke to a different rep and informed them of the known nhtsa investigation and the customer service program already established. a case number was started with them. i am unable to get to a ford dealership until tues due to work. *tr

I was driving home from work last night and my car shut off. it shook violently and decelerated to a stop. i read online about the 13n09 consumer satisfaction program and since my car is exhibiting the same symptoms i decided to limp into the dealer. it appears that ford has decided to extend the warranty on these defective throttle body parts but for some reason my 2010 ford fusion with a faulty throttle body position sensor is not covered? if it has been determined that the part is defective in the ford fusion then shouldn't all of them be covered? i don't feel that i should have to pay for a faulty part that just happens to also be a safety issue. ford needs to step up and own up to this issue not profit from it. *tr

Shame on you ford! hard working middle class family purchased a 2010 ford fusion for our son to use while he's in college. while driving the car on 1-95 the check engine light came on and also service power steering. the steering wheel locked and the car was impossible to drive luckily it was a week day so we were able to find a ford dealership. well they told us it was a evap pump $340, they reset the power steering sensor and thought they fixed it. few days later the same thing happened again. another mechanic told us it was uneven tire pressure that set the sensors off the car drove for an hour and the sensors went off again.there should be a recall too many people are having this problem. this is horrible ford so many family's rely on your cars for the safety of their family! i will never buy ford again! power steering warning message as the failure occurred again . took the car to another ford dealership and now i was told the front axle has to be replaced $2300. money pit!! this should not be happening to a 2010 car with 48000 miles on it. *tr

While driving on the interstate at about 70 miles per hour, my power steering went out. i could do nothing to restore it. that was about a year and a half ago. i took it to a ford dealer and they wanted $100 to look at it and $1800 to repair it. i am on a fixed income and cannot afford the cost of repairs. it went out at 51,000 miles. shortly after this hapened the transmission start leaking. i have to add 2 quarts per month. i have called ford several times and they have no recalls on this year. over 90% of the complaints on this web site have to do with 2010 ford fusion steering problems. my wife can longer drive this car and due to heart surgery there are times when i can not drive it. i finally contacted a lawyer and the state of west virginia attorney generals office. i have been a faithful form customer for many years and this is the biggest piece of junk it has ever been my displeasure to own. my next step is to quit making payment on it. i still owe $14,000 on this piece of scrap metal.

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. while driving 55 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. afterwards, the throttle body and transmission warning lights illuminated. the contact was on the highway when the vehicle stalled. the contact was able to drive after restarting the vehicle. the dealer was notified, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the failure recurred multiple times since the first failure. the contact notified another dealer where it was diagnosed that the throttle body needed to be replaced. the failure mileage was 84,000.

I have had this car for 2 years now. i first had issues with the throttle body and my car shutting off at intersections and had that replaced within a year of buying the car. i have been having issues with the transmission slipping between 1st and 2nd gear for almost a year now. i first had seals replaced. the second time i had my cv joint boots replaced and found out they are wearing out the seals that are causing transmission leaks. the car is in the shop for the 3rd time because of the same transmission leaks and difficult shifting between 1st and 2nd gear and will most likely be getting a new transmission because the cv joints and seals have failed again within the 3 months of being replaced. *tr

Received a letter a couple months ago to get the pcm updated on my vehicle. and i have much pride in my vehicle and try to take good care of it, because it's my first one i've ever purchased. so i take it to the ford service center within 24hrs of the first day i noticed the wrench coming on. but, it has been some time now and maybe two and a half weeks ago the 'wrench light' has started to come back on and it has been nothing but havoc.. my vehicle will do a slight jerk once this happens and i try to get to somewhere i can pull over safe because when this happens if i continue driving the rpm will slightly go over where it was when the car was driving normally. now when this happens and i pull over, 9 times out of 10 when i decide to start the car, the wrench immediately illuminates after putting the car in gear and pulling off. sometimes the car will crank and immediately shut off. sometimes it will not illuminate or shut off but when i put the car in gear and pull off, but, i will have a rough take off or it will shut off in the midst of driving. *tr

Car lost power at 70 while on cruise on the highway lost speed and dropped down to 40, went into limp mode check engine light came on scanned car code p2119 present ford replaced (no charge) throttle body and motor assembly under a customer satisfaction program 13b17. *tr

My vehicle suffered the ford customer satisfaction program for throttle body failure. the vehicle will idel rough there will be a surge and then the vehicle will go into "limp home mode" . this happened while turning at lightfrom a stop. the vehicle accelerated then hesitated the a complete loss of power with the engine light coming on. att hat point the car was in "limp home mode" the throttle position sensor inside the throttle body was the problem. contacted ford and my vehicle is not covered under their customer satisfaction program which extended the warranty on over 1 million for vehicles. i believe ford needs to extend this "csp" to a larger range of vin numbers and assembly plants. *tr
