We have classified the 777 complaints from 2010 Ford Fusion about POWER TRAIN into the following categories.
Transmission keeps on lurching forward and dealership cannot do anything about it now. it's a safety issue for me as i almost got into an accident on the street due to huge jump. transmission keeps on acting up and dealer keeps saying everything is fine and cannot duplicate the other since the time they rebuilt the transmission on my vehicle. *tr *kb
My car went to a ford dealership back in april of 2010 to have recall 10b15 (powertrain control module reprogramming) performed. ever since the recall has been performed the car is experiencing a problem with a pause in acceleration around 25 mph. whenever i am driving at or just around 25 mph in city driving conditions the car will experience a long delay between the time i push the gas pedal and the time it actually takes the car to move forward. there have been several occurrences where i have almost been rear ended due to my car not moving forward immediately like it is suppose to during normal gas pedal operation. my car was taken back to the same dealership regarding this problem and after test driving they said the car was working properly at this time. i wish a recall would be forced upon ford to remedy this problem before someone gets injured or killed! *tr
I purchased a ford fusion in march 2010. about 2 months after i received a recall notice stating the transmission needed some type of new valve and if it did not get it the clutch on my car could wear out. i immediately brought my car in and had the recall work done. soon after i starting feeling the transmission "slip" between gears. this issue almost caused an accident on the highway. i brought my car back to the dealer after having the transmission light turn on while driving to work and experiencing slippage between gears again. i was told they would check it out and try to duplicate the issue. they had the car for 8 days and said they could not find anything wrong. research on transmission problems with ford fusions proved this is a wide spread issue. after having my car for 2 days the transmission slipped again. i would appreciate any help i can get! I have a 2010 ford fusion 4cyl automatic with 20k miles. i have had transmission issues since i purchased this car in 2010. i am experiencing choppy and jerky shifting. when driving at low speeds in traffic the car will shift and jerk forward. also, when shifting from reverse to forward, the car will sometimes violently jerk forward. i took the car in about 8 months ago and the technician couldn't get the issues to repeat and told me there was nothing wrong. i am now complaining since i noticed this is a well known issue and ford is ignoring it. *tr
Car had not been driven for one week. experienced a jerky transmission shift, most severely when accelerating to about 35, then letting off the gas to maintain speed. feels like the transmission shift for not good reason, and the engine jerks. *tr
Transmission was reprogrammed at a ford dealership. a week later, the transmission exhibited periods of not wanting to engage and when it did the car would lunge forward. you could step on the gas pedal and your engine rpm's would increase but you would just sit there, not moving then suddenly the car will lunge forward. there are also instances where when slowing down for a stop sign the car would start to jerk. it's a dangerous situation since there were other cars at the intersection when the car decided to lunge forward after applying pressure to the accelerator and having the transmission not engage immediately. it occurs after the transmission is at full operating temperature. it is currently sitting at a dealership awaiting diagnosis and repair. *tr
2010 ford fusion. hard shift with second gear, taken to dealership and recall work done. they reprogrammed the transmission twice. the car remained with hard shift in second gear and high pitch sound under the hood, heard in the vehicle any time over 100 rpms. they replaced the transmission. i had the car back 2 days and the car did not engage in second gear this morning for 2 sec. loud sound from under the hood. this is the third time back to the shop in less than a month for the transmission. *tr
Transmission failure and issue persists. occasionally, when accelerating from a stop or a low speed, the transmission will slip and catch violently. the whole car surges and jerks forward causing the tires to chirp. if this were to happen on a day with inclement weather, the car could lose control and cause an accident. ford rebuilt the transmission in summer of 2010 after finding burnt clutch plates. ford has not repaired the original issue after taking the vehicle in 7 times. also, every time the transmission jerks, burning transmission fluid is smelled inside the car through the ac vents. ford claims it is leftover fluid from previous repairs, but after 6 months, the smell is still there. *tr
I believe i was sold a defective 2010 ford fusion. i believe the transmission wa faulty and they knew about it. the car was slow to shift bolted when put into reverse. the car was recalled. *tr
My wife's 2010 ford fusion sel has 14000 miles and the transmission began to slip. so much so, she feared for her life on the washington, dc suburban streets she drives. the car would not shift into low gear causing several "almost accidents" with other drivers almost rear-ending her in traffic. we took the car into koons sterling ford in sterling, va on 16 february. we were told that it was an issue and that our car would be there for several days. they claimed that "ford does not allow them to put in a new or rebuilt transmission" but that they were going to "tear the transmission down and replace bands and clutches" in my new car. i contacted ford corporate who said they would be putting a rebuilt transmission in my car. that did not sound correct to me because they will have had it for most of two weeks - i conferred with the dealer who confirmed that they were rebuilding my transmission from scratch (bands and clutches). i called ford back and they apologized for the misinformation they gave me. ford is clueless as to what the problem is, much less how to fix it. i consider this as much of an issue as the toyota acceleration problem. when a new car scares your wife, there is something wrong. this car was motor trend's "car of the year..." *tr
I own a 2010 ford fusion se v4, the car is having transmission problem and not fixed even after it was at the dealership for 2 weeks. after all the arguments i manage to get the rental car (focus) for only 5 days. i wrote letter to both company and the dealership but i don't know how serious they are taking this matter. please have them replace the transmission or fix the problem asap before car breaks down in middle of no where and somebody ends up getting hurt. thank you *tr
I have a transmission problem where it slip into neutral for a few seconds between 1-2 and 2-3 causing an acceleration delay while in traffic. the engine just revs and then a shuttered lurch when the transmission slams into the next gear. i have had the car in for repair, was told the transmission was fine and all it needed was a reprogram. now i still have the issue, i'm taking the car back in and i'm dismayed to hear that even if they now rebuild the trans, i'll still have to deal with the problem as ford doesn't know how to fix it. and i have been told by the dealership 'you can bring it in and we'll check it out but i don't think we can fix it.' nhtsa has to step in, ford owners are in jeopardy. *tr
Transmission on 2010 ford fusion skips out of gear and clunks into gear at times. failed to go into gear when i was pulling out onto a busy highway. i had to pull off the road to avoid being hit by the car from behind.near accident. ford earlier issued a recall on the transmission and re- calibrated the powertrain module. this obviously did not work because of the ensuing accident. i took it back to the dealer and they could find nothing wrong with it. this was in june of 2010. by july, it was worse and i took it back again. this time they kept the car. they said they would take the transmission apart and get instructions from ford headquarters. when i checked the internet, i found page after page of complaints by fusion 2010 owners with the similar transmission problems. some, l occur after 7-10 months(12,000 miles) and some much sooner. i am concerned that it will be fixed properly because some owners received re-built transmissions and some received new transmissions, and these fixes did not always work according to owner testimony. my car has been in the shop for well over a week already. all i want is my car back without any transmission problems. let's hope nobody gets in a serious accident because of this condition. my complaint is with ford headquarters, not the dealer. the dealer is not in control. *tr
To begin with i was only having problems when shifting from reverse to forward. i took my car in for the recall and i am still having problems: my car will jerk violently and then slow down to 0. the wrench light comes on and sometimes the transmission light. it has happened going slow as in making a turn, going fast, and going slow in a straight pattern. i have documented the gas because the service tech said it might not be the transmission but something with the fuel. it happens on full, 3/4, half and a quarter of a tank, early morning, after i have driven it for a while. yesterday it happened 4 times in 4 miles each time i have to shut the engine off, which apparently resets it, because the lights will go off, but then come on when it happens again. this car is dangerous to drive, someone is going to be killed. i have advised my family that if i am rear-ended and death occurs to seek legal council. the service people say they can not do anything unless they can get the car to mimic the problem, or something shows up on the computer. meanwhile this is my only means of transportation, i also use my car everyday for business. they have not provided me with an alternate means of transportation yet want to keep my car for 4 days. please do something, there are complaints all over the internet, i am sure you would have more complaints if people knew about you. can you pull ford's service records to get a more accurate record of the magnitude of problems. do something before someone dies.
In yellowstone national park, i was driving north from canyon village to tower falls. a sign said, "7% downgrade 6 miles all vehicles use lower gear". the ford fusion se v6 with automatic gives the choice of first, which redlines at about 35 mph, or drive, which will shift to 6th gear even on the level at 35mph. i had to ride the brakes for the next six miles. at the bottom of the hill is a pedestrian crossing and a speed limit of 15 mph. i pulled off to the parking lot at tower falls and the smell of hot brakes was everywhere. the vehicle's wheels were hot. if the brakes had faded, i would have hit the pedestrian crossing at high speed unless i found a nice rock wall to run into instead. the vehicle desperately needs engine braking. the engine ran at about 1,000 rpm all the way down the mountain. it idles at about 500 rpm when hot, so the engine braking was nearly nonexistent. *tr
I purchased my vehicle on may 15, 2010. the vehicle began to stall almost 1 month later at 2100 miles. i was coming to a stop at a red light when i noticed that my vehicle had lost all power when i began to apply the brake. i took the vehicle into the dealer and they told me that they were not able to replicate the problem and no codes were showing up when diagnosed. after the first time the vehicle stalled on me i started to notice an acceleration problem prior to the vehicle stalling again. it feels like the vehicle is not shifting gears correctly when i'm pressing the gas for acceleration. the vehicle has trouble accelerating properly and i fear that i may get rear ended. when the vehicle stalls it does not give me any warning signs and just looses power. i have to turn off the ignition and turn it back on. the vehicle starts up right away like if nothing happened. meanwhile i loose power in the middle of the freeway or on the street, fearing that i will get rear ended. the vehicle has stalled on me numerous times and each time i take it into the dealer they are not able to replicate the problem. the dealer placed a flight recorder to monitor the vehicle and they still weren't able to capture anything when the vehicle stalled, so they say. i have contact ford corporation and have notified them of the problem but they are not working to fix the problem. they keep changing me from dealer to dealer and they have not sent out a ford technician as promised to look at the vehicle. this is a huge safety concern that ford is not addressing. i have put in numerous calls to ford corporation and they have not fixed the problem to this day.
I have a 2010 ford fusion which was recalled for the transmission problems. i brought it in for the hard shifts and when put into drive it feels as if the transmission is going to fall out of the front end. they keep telling me nothing is wrong with the car. this is crazy seeing this is a new vehicle with only 5,000 miles on it. *tr
Since the vehicle was new the transmission slips or jumps into gear. the engine also hesitates when the gas pedal is pushed and then starts to go. visits to three ford dealerships over the years and calls to ford have been useless. ford dealers will charge for reprogramming of computer which does not fix the problem, there is what ford calls a recall but they will only fix the problem if the dash light comes on because their oil change people can't tell if there is a problem unless the light comes on. ford has given me numerous "work tickets" but they are unwilling to fix the vehicle or don't know how. i know this is a common problem with ford vehicles after sitting in dealership waiting rooms with others who have the same issues. if you own a ford be careful when merging onto a highway because your vehicle may not go when you want it to. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. while driving approximately 70 mph, the contact stated that the transmission disengaged from the engine, causing loss of all power without warning. the vehicle was taken to the dealer who reprogrammed the computer in june 2010; however, the problem occurred again in january 2011. the contact did not inform the manufacturer nor was the vehicle repaired. the current mileage was approximately 34,000. the failure mileage was approximately 23,000. the vin was unavailable.
I have a ford fusion 2010. i first noticed my car had an issue in april. i was behind a truck and it was slowing down so i stepped on the brake. i took my foot off the brake and the car accelerated by itself. i was in ky over the weekend and noticed the car speeding up into passing gear after i stepped on the brake. i get home from ky and find a recall for a transmission issue. i did not report the problems i was having to the dealer because i saw what the media did to owners of toyotas saying that their foot slipped off the brake and on to the gas. i took the car to the dealer for the recall issue this past tuesday. it was noted i was the first to report that the car accelerated by itself. i'm not sure if i fall into the stupid category or not but i did notice in the paper yesterday that floor mats maybe causing the accelerating issue. who ever said this is really the stupid one. and please do not blame this on driving habits i'm averaging 25.1 miles per gallon. do i trust my car with only 4100 miles on it? would you? *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. the contact stated that his vehicle was serviced at an authorized dealer for an unknown transmission repair. afterward, whenever he would release his foot from the accelerator pedal, the vehicle would down shift and the failure would recur at any traveled speed. the dealer informed the contact that they had recalibrated the power control module in accordance with a new federal regulation. the vehicle was not further repaired and the failure continued to recur. the failure mileage was 1,500 and the current mileage was 1,900.
After the car has been unused for 2 or more days, the transmission evidences an engine flair where the gears are disengaged, followed by a very hard shift between 2nd and 3rd gears. sometimes it also flares between 4th and 5th. this is a safety issue on left turns and when merging into traffic. *tr
2010 ford fusion 4 cylinder, 6 speed automatic transmission. problem: automatic transmission. engine speeds-up, between up-shifts 3-4 and 4-5. problem started within 1st week of ownership. vehicle has been in for transmission related problems 2-times, waiting to schedule 3rd. all 3000 miles or less. *tr
When driving the automatic transmission sometimes slips out of gear and goes to neutral. this problem happens from 10-40mph at 0-50% throttle. loss of power happens between 5-10 seconds and the engine rpms will increase to 7,000 rpms. depressing the throttle allows the transmission to engage again with an abrupt and hard shift. accelerating again after this is very slow and sluggish and is believed that the car is in an upper gear. almost caused a wreck that could have ended my life between two tractor trailers because of loss of power and failure to accelerate. *tr
Engine hesitates from a stop and bucks and jerks while driving. hard pick-up. rpm's up to max without vehicle acceleration. feels like transmission slips into neutral. first visit, 5/18/2010 (8767 miles-bought new at 15 miles-10/10)/ presently, july, 2011, car with 22,000 is in for 4th return to dealer: 10/2010 car 1 year old, 14,000 miles, local oil repair shop notices both lower ball joints boots split, returned to dealer to resolve. still hesitating and jerking and bucking, particularly during gear shifts. second visit, 11/2010 returned for same driving problems. third visit 6/30/11 service shop notices leak under carriage, returned to dealer. service manager and i check under carriage, still obvious leak, he told me it wasn't a leak, we both had grease/oil/something on our hands. refused to extend rental car coverage as car is "completely fixed", left with car, wrote on ticket, "leak still unresolved". returned for forth visit 7/8/2011 admits leak "somewhere". also, sealant around windshield melts and becomes tacky in hot weather (texas). had dealer reseal last summer. now, area is getting tacky again. will this occur each summer and will seal hold during hard rain?
We were trapped on an interstate out of state after flat towing per ford's specs and ford's recommendations. transmission failed. had to trailer fusion home after dealer said it would be six days before one was available. transmission was replaced. was trapped on interstate a second time on 5/23/12 while flat towing, the 2nd transmission failed. this transmission had 15,707 miles on it. it was obvious that this transmission was not made for flat towing. we asked ford customer service to buy back the fusion since the only reason we bought it was they recommended it for flat towing. they refused. on 4/25/13 i took the fusion in to check fluid level for flat towing and with only about 8000 miles on fluid since 2nd replacement the report recommended the transmission be flushed and refilled because the fluid was burnt. ford would not pay for it even though i had an extended warranty and my car only had 24215 mi. the service writer told me not to flush and refill with only 8000 mi on the fluid even though that was the main reason i went in. i heard ford was working with remco and had developed a transmission cooler that they were installing to keep these transmissions from failing but the dealer knew nothing about this. ford seems happy to have customers trapped on dangerous freeways and then continue to replace the transmissions at the inconvenience and danger to the occupants of the fusion. many consumers with this 6f35 transmission have had many experiences like ours as evidenced on the internet (ford forum). please help.
2010 ford fusion transmission slipped on highway at 70 miles per hour. rpm's increased, loss of speed - had to exit freeway across traffic at a very low speed - was afraid the car was going to stall. ford roadside assistance towed vehicle to briarwood ford in saline - waiting for repairs. requested new transmission vs. repair - ford not complying. vehicle had just been at suburban ford in waterford for oil change and "recall" on transmission celluloid issue 6 days prior. was told that it checked out fine. *tr
Tl*the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. the contact stated that while driving at freeway speeds the vehicle would shift out of gear, making the vehicle coast as if it were in neutral then it would lock into third gear making the rpm's increase and the vehicle accelerate. the failure occurred four times. the dealer stated that the service manager test drove the vehicle; however, there were no codes and the service manager determined that there was nothing wrong with the vehicle. the failure happened again and the contact stated the dealer determined that it was a main computer failure, which was repaired. (pcm reprogram) on september 1, 2010, the failure happened again and the vehicle was taken back to the dealer while it was locked into third gear. the mechanic found an abs code and a coolant refrigerator code. he drove the vehicle 20 miles and again stated that there was nothing wrong with the vehicle that would cause the failure. the failure happened again the same day. the wrench light was illuminated and the vehicle was taken back to the dealer. the vehicle was at the dealership waiting for repairs. the contact stated that this was a severe safety issue because of the way the vehicle lost and gained power in heavy traffic. he does not believe that the vehicle is safe to drive. the contact wanted ford to buy the vehicle back. the failure mileage was approximately 20, 056. the current mileage was 24,100. updated 12/23/10*lj updated 01/04/11
Since the recall was done, my powertrain has not ran right. i don't know if this the problem, but i didn't have the problems until afterwards. problem starts in the morning.
Transmission slips and clunking noise. car goes from 1st to 2nd gear and bucks. almost got rear ended twice. also transmission slips at high speeds. *tr
After stopping for a red signal in traffic (vehicle travel uphill) the vehicle lost drive (acted as if the vehicle had been shifted out of gear). after a harsh engagement, the vehicle regained drive. the vehicle was driven home without further incident that day. the vehicle was taken to a dealer to get the pcm "flashed", i assume with a new shift profile. the vehicle malfunctioned two more times with a data recorder from the dealership installed. the loss of drive occurred after rapidly decelerating to slightly less than 40 mph and then trying to accelerate to the previous speed. again, engagement was harsh when the transmission began to provide drive. ford has acknowledged at least one engine rpm spike from the recorder, but denies that it is significant or that it is indicative of a problem. i have had the transmission fluid from this vehicle tested at an independent laboratory. the sample results showed the transmission fluid to be high in aluminum (7 times the average for a unit with similar miles), and high in iron about 1.6 times the average. this problem is a great safety concern because if the vehicle were to lose drive when pulling out into traffic, an accident involving injury or death could occur! i have found a youtube video posted that represents the problem i am experiencing by using the google search engine and using the querry "ford fusion transmission problems" since the pcm flash the automatic transmission seems to behave at times like a manual transmission. on a coastdown it seems like the transmission is "pushing " the car like a manual transmission with the clutch engaged even though i want the car to coast down. the reprogramming has made shifting more harsh in some gear changes, and seem to skip over the problem gears in other shifts. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion sel. while driving approximately 45 mph on a hill, the transmission failed and the contact was unable to change gears. the vehicle was towed to the dealer where the contact was advised that the transmission would need to be replaced. the failure and current mileages were 6,005.
Transmission slips . makes loud banging noise. first occurred with 750 miles on car. car taken in for service, was told "module" was replaced, not so. they have thus far refused to provide documentation as to what they did. same thing happened again 4 days later. again took in for service, this time i was told "computer" was replace, once again not so. he have so far refused to provide documentation as to what was done. same thing again again about 1 week later. 1035 miles. car now at dealer for repairs, there now for 7 days ?? *tr
Tl*the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. while driving approximately 30 mph the contact stated that the vehicle began to shift hard. he stated that the transmission slips, and at times when he engaged the accelerator pedal it hesitated. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who reprogrammed the pcm. the contact stated that the failure occurred again and the dealer replaced the value body. he stated that the failure occurred three times. the vehicle was taken to the dealer when the complaint was filed. the approximate failure mileage was 7,200 and the current mileage was 8,300.
Hard shift/clunking noise, left wheel hop then no gear (neutral) usual shifting from 2 - 3. no passing in this vehicle, will jump out of gear when shifting from 2 - 3. *tr
I purchased a 2010 ford fusion in august of 2009. the car always shifted out of park and into gear very hard, especially after sitting for several hours. i thought nothing of it. then the transmission began to "flare" between gear shifts. essentially the car would shift out of gear (into neutral) and then hard shift into the next gear. a ford engineer gave me the term they use "flaring". ford reflashed the transmission without resolving the problem and then reflashed it again without resolving the problem. this is a safety issue. *tr
This is the 4 cylinder version of the 2010 fusion. since the car was only a few months old, the transmission has been slipping in low gear. as the mileage has gone up it has occurred more often but mainly in low gears. the problem has been that it does not set off any service lights so they had not been able to find anything to fix. after driving the car for about a year, it finally happened at high speed and turned on the service light. it was bad enough that i had to pull off the road. by this time, the transmission was damaged and they had to rebuild many of the parts. ford knew this was occurring and had a bulletin all about it. this shows that prior to the rebuild, ford already knew the transmission has had issues. prior to the rebuild, the transmission had been through multiple tests, a reprogramming of the transmission, and other changes to the transmission from their technical service bulletins. i did open a case with ford customer service. they admitted to me that the transmission has had issues in other cars and they are working on how to resolve them. soon after i was told that, i was assigned to a different customer service representative who denied this fact. after a few months more, i got a call from ford stating that they have no idea how to fix the problem so they are just closing the case with no resolution. i asked for a replacement transmission and they have said no. if you look in the forums for the 2010 ford fusion 4 cylinder, you will see how common the issue is. on top of all this, my gas mileage has dropped since the rebuild of the transmission. *tr
This problem has happened multiple times. when i hit the gas after slowing down, the vehicle will not move. i will have to jam down on the gas pedal before it does anything. at that point, the rpm's fly up and the car will finally start moving. it is inevitable that this will cause me to get into a car accident and even possibly killed one day. there have been several times where i have been just shy of getting slammed into by oncoming traffic as i turn in from of them cause my vehicle is not moving. also there have been three instances in which the car will totally stop moving. the car is on, but it will not go. i will hit the gas and nothing happens. i have to shut the car completely off and then back on again in order to get it to move. i have complained to the dealership several times about problems with my vehicle and nothing ever gets done.this is extremely dangerous and i fear for my life cause of this problem that continues to go unheeded by the dealership. *tr
Transmission slips and shifts hard in low gears. ford has replaced several transmission components but the problem still persists. i fear i may crash into the rear of another car when this occurs. recently a new problem has developed at high speeds where the transmission does not shift and runs at 4500 rpm for 20-30 seconds. ford says nothing is wrong despite me sending a video of the console when this happens. *kb
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. the contact stated that in order to shift gears, she would have to allow the vehicle to idle for approximately eight minutes. the dealer was unable to offer a remedy for the failure. the contact confirmed she had experienced the failure on multiple occasions. the failure mileage was 9 and the current was 900. updated 05/18/2010. *lj
Transmission slips out of gear. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. while driving at speeds of 40 mph, the vehicle would not accelerate. the vehicle would exhibit transmission failures. the failure occurred on several occasions. the vehicle was taken to the dealer but there were no repairs made to the vehicle. the vin was not available when the complaint was filed. the failure and current mileages were 12,000.
I purchased this car new in 2009. with in a few months i had problems with the transmission. putting the car into drive it would slam in the gear, not all the time but multiple times each month. the transmission slips while driving and will not shift properly, again randomly. dealer can never duplicate the problem. i will put the last time this happened below as i do not recall the date the first time it happened
Incident: 2010 ford fusion, 4 cyl, 6 spd auto. vehicle experiencing harsh shifting at low speeds or initially shifting into gear. violent shifting when accelerating to enter a highway. high rpms when resuming the 60 mph set cruise control speed from 35 mph, the transmission cannot seem to finally shift into 6 spd. the vehicle computer has been reset by ford service and the problem has gotten worse. the car is again being looked at by ford. service manager commented that the computer remedy might not work if not done prior to 7000 miles. why then has ford waited to inform owners about their known transmission problem? ford needs to take responsibility and work with the transmission supplier to remedy and replace the defective transmissions. transmission breakdowns will become move prevalent as more of these highly touted vehicles are sold and driven if ford doesn't own up to the problem. please intercede on behalf of consumers that own these vehicles and have had no luck with ford fixing the problematic transmission. i presently have 13000+ miles on the car and purchased it to provide safe transportation and ford assured me it could be recreational towed with no problems as long as the manual instructions were followed. updated 09/23/10 *bf the consumer stated since filing the complaint, the transmission in his vehicle was totally destroyed. the damage occurred while the vehicle was being towed. updated ivoq 09/24/10 *tr
Transmission slips and loud bumping noise. car goes from 1st to 2nd gear and jerks. transmission slips between 60-70mph. i was almost t-boned!!!! *tr
My car is experiencing a problem dealing with acceleration hesitation. many times i required acceleration to take over a car by depressing the gas pedal, followed by no power response in middle of the overtaking. during these episodes the engine began oscillating crazily between rev excessively and the rpm's increased rapidly (from 7000 to 10000 rpm) and decreasing without control without not power response. in addition, the transmission exhibited a delay and a hard shift. the failure occurred intermittently. this failure put me in a high risk during thetaking over in the highway as power did not response and i almost collided twice the vehicle is in the service shop from the dealer and has not been repaired at this time. first dealer diagnostic mentioned that it was a matter of reprogramming the car's computer systems however problem remained and they retained the car for further investigation giving a second diagnostic of body valves transmission problem. ford mentioned that new body valves will be available by march the 31st, i have not date from ford and dealer when car will be totally repaired and if this is the real solution. *tr
2010 ford fusion -- transmission slips while accelerating, sometimes getting stuck in 3 gear or so before jerkily shifting to fourth.
Tl*the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. while the contact was driving approximately 45 mph, the transmission began to exhibit erratic and violent shifting. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the transmission was replaced for the third time. the failure mileage was 9,700.
While under normal driving conditions and habits, we experienced a complete instrument cluster failure in our 2010 ford fusion hybrid this past saturday, feb 20. 2010. during the same incident we experienced a symptom of diminished power while accelerating as well as overly sensitive and /or mushy brakes. there have been other reported instances where the brake system has glitched as well during regenerative braking causing an abrupt application of hydraulic system over riding the regenerative system, brake system continues to have issues even after recall repair reprogramwas performed. we have had several instrument cluster glitches while driving the vehicle since purchase date of october 26, 2009. first incident was reported october 27, 2009. several. instrument cluster resets while driving since purchase date. first incident reported same date as previous.. on february 22, 2010 car stalled for no reason while driving 45mph in traffic to dealership to have instrument cluster and other issues addressed. restarted when car came ro a complete stop and placed in park. car is at dealer now and no codes were reported in systems. ford engineers state that with no codes reported there can't be any problems. *tr
2010 ford fusion se, transmission problems jerking slipping this is the second time i have had the car in the shop. first time they put a new part on who knows what is going on now. i bought a new car not a car with rebuilt items. this is ridiculous and unfair. ford did well this year off the hard earned money of americans and they should be ashamed for the unprofessional and down right nasty way they have treated this problem. and from what i have read it has been an on going problem for a few year. *tr
