Recently reported POWER TRAIN problems on 2010 Ford Fusion

I was driving down the interstate and my 2010 fusion lost power at 75 miles per hour. the wrench light came on at the time of power loss. i coasted the car to the side of the interested once i was stopped the car was jerking. i turned the car off and about 3 minutes later i turned it back on. it started and i was about a mile from my house when it did it again at the speed of 40. i repeated the first step. i took the car into get it diagnosed and because my engine light was not on they could not find a problem. i thought it might be bad gas .. then today aug 2 i was driving down the interstate at 75 and it did it again. i pulled over and turned off and it started back except this time i did not even go a mile and it did it again. this time my engine light came on. i just left a place where they told me it was the throttle body part.. *tr

The steering wheel starting shaking as the car lost power and eventually completely stalled. after several minutes it started but we didn't even get a mile further before the same thing happened again. as this was happening the check engine light came on and a little wrench lamp lit up on the instrument panel. after about 20 minutes we were able to start the car again and drive it to a ford dealership several miles away where they replaced the throttle body 4 days later. it took them that long to get the part in because they had trouble finding one since so many other people were having the same problem. *tr

I was driving to my friends and all of a sudden my car stalled on me. it wouldn't move when i pushed on the gas it just slowed down while my battery light wrench light and engine light came on. it was dead. i shut the car off and turned it back on and it was fine like nothing happened. less than a mile it did it again on a busy road. i was freaking out and worried about my life on the busy road. so i shut it off again and started and lucky i made to the ford service before it did it again and decided to have them check it out. the throttle body gad to be replaced and was the reason why my car was acting up. i thank god that i wasn't on the freeway around rush hour time. *tr

Traffic slowed suddenly from about 65mph to about 20-30 mph so i had to apply my brakes very suddenly and hard to avoid rear ending someone. traffic kept moving and i regained a speed of about 40 mph just after this i felt the car make a sudden hard jerk and car started decelerating on it's own. i tried pushing the gas petal, but nothing happened it would not speed up it kept loosing speed and eventually got down to 1 - 2 mph. i pulled the car over into the edge of the right lane so i was partially on grass and on part of the road. i put my hazards on and kept coasting because it felt like the car was going to stall it was shaking and jerking like it wanted to stall out. i stopped the car and left it running i was afraid if i shut the car completely off that it would not re-start again. i then drove the car home with my hazards on doing 1 to 5 mph on the way home for about 2 miles. the wrench tool light had come on when this happened. once i got the car home i shut it off and restarted and just drove back and forth in my driveway. i shut the car off and on about 3 times and then it seemed to be running normal and the tool wrench light shut off. not going to drive it until i can get it to the ford dealer to have it looked at. *tr

The first incident i was going down the interstate at 60mph the car lost power and the wrench light came on turned the car off restarted and the wrench was gone and the car ran fine. it has happened 2 more times the last time the check engine light came on and able to pull code p2111 throttle open, the car was in limp mode. ford wont fix it. new throttle body put on today. *tr

I was at a left turn light and when i drove through the light to make the left turn my car started shaking and the wrench light came out. when i was hitting the gas it didn't go so i pulled over and turned the car off. i waited a while and turned it on and it started up fine. so i started driving a little more and it did it again. i turned the car off for a while and i turned it back on and was able to drive it home since i lived close by. the wrench light turned off but the engine light stayed on. i got up that morning and drove it to a neighborhood shop and they said the only thing wrong with it was a security error and that it was fine. i picked it up from the shop and i was able to get down the street when my car cut off. radio and all the interior lights were on but the car itself cut off and the battery light showed up. i was able to again drive it home. i did some research and i didn't realize how many other people were having this same issue and they said it's the throttle body which would cost about 600 - 800 dollars to fix. there should be a recall on this because this is happening to way too many people and this is a three year old car. i had my daughter in the car both times. *tr

I was driving at 35 mph all of a sudden my wrench icon came on and lost acceleration. i was able to pull to the side of road and the car started to shake and wanted to stall. i shut off the car for a min and started it back up. it hesitated but it did finally start up. i drove 2 miles and it did it again. since then this happens frequently without any warning and at varied speeds. this problem has happened a few times on the highway and my children and myself almost got rear ended. my engine light came on i had it tested and the code was p2111 tac stuck open. the problem is the throttle body. this problem is very serious and dangerous. *tr

Driving about 40 mph. car jerked then shut off. brought it to a mechanic and was told it was the full body throttle. *tr

I have a 2010 ford fusion se 2.5 and my check engine light came on along with a wrench light and my car went in to "limp mode" and my car lost power as i was turning left with traffic coming right at me, i was barely able to make it across the road without being hit!

Driving on 295 n bound at approximately 70 mph the engine just stalled...the little wrench light came on along with the engine light. i tried giving it gas but i could not get it to go so i had to fight the traffic to get over to the shoulder and shut it off. i attempted to start it and on the second try it did but felt like it was running on 2 cylinders.so i let it sputter along the shoulder to the exit where i shut it off and let it sit for a few minutes then tried it again, it started and i was able to get it to a advanced auto parts store where they plugged in the tester and got a throttle actuator error code.i got it started and it drove ok till i got home but haven't used it yet. this car did have a problem a few weeks ago but i thought it was just a glitch because it just ran rough and then went back to normal. now i'm reading about other fusions having the same problem. *tr

Vehicle acted as if it was going to cut off but did not cut off acceleration was impossible unless i cut the car completely off and restarted it then was able to continue on for about two minutes then same thing happened. *tr

Was driving and the wrench light came on and car lost all power and was shaking was able to pull off the road and shut down the car. restart. found out its the throttle body is defective and part is on national back order if this happens on the freeway i am sure this will cause an accident. it has happened 4 more times since this incident. *tr

My car stalled 3 times while driving at various speeds. took it to local repair shop. shop was unable to obtain part #ds7z*9e926*d throttle body from 11 dealerships until mid august. i was concerned that any replacement part we would find would also be defective and i didn't want to pay for the repair twice. i called my dealership directly and was told that they had 8 parts in stock, but they were "service only" parts for the dealership service department. i said i already had time and labor invested at the shop and didn't want to have to pay twice. i also asked if the parts they had in stock were "good parts" and asked why they were on backorder almost a month. not having my car repaired was not an option and i made that clear to the dealership parts department as well as the service department. they finally agreed to sell me the part and assured me that the parts they had in stock were "good parts". i kept all of my paperwork as well as the defective part. seems like a strong candidate for a recall if 11 dealerships were unwilling to sell this part to local repair shops. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. the contact stated that the vehicle jerked, hesitated, and made a loud noise while driving 15 mph and making a turn. the wrench light illuminated after the failure occurred. the vehicle began to function normally after it was restarted. the vehicle was taken to the dealer and a diagnostic test was performed. the failure was located within the throttle body and the front axle, needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the approximate failure and current mileage was 63,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. the contact stated that while driving approximately 45 mph, the vehicle independently decelerated. the contact shut the engine off and was able to proceed without failure. the vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis where the technician stated that the electronic control module would have to be repaired. the vehicle was not repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 60,000. *tr

While i was driving, my ford fusion lost most of it's power. i was told it was due to a broken throttle body (part). it sounds like it will take 3 weeks to get the part. i'm not sure why it is taking so long, especially since most people here are complaining about the same part. *tr

I was traveling down the freeway when the wrench light appeared on my dash without warning and all throttle control was lost. i pulled to the side and restarted the car. all lights went off and the car drove normally for less than a 1/2 mile when it happened again. the wrench light reappeared, throttle was lost and the car began to shake as it showed down. pulled off and restarted again. same thing happened just a few yards down the road, except now the cel lit up as well. pulled to the side again--car shook violently as it slowed. had to get towed to the dealer. had the freeway been busier i probably would have been rear-ended. *tr

While driving on the highway, vehicle experienced immediate, sudden and complete loss of engine power (engine would not respond to throttle depression and remained at idle) with associated yellow maintenance wrench illuminated on instrument cluster. driver had to execute a dangerous decelerating 4 lane change to stop vehicle on a limited and narrow shoulder. after restarting vehicle, the light disappeared, and the vehicle was able to be driven before same mechanical failure occurred after 1 mile. vehicle was driven 10 miles to nearest ford dealer at slow speeds and back roads. power loss occurred approximately 8 more times while enroute to dealer. extremely dangerous and insidious mode of failure without warning. could have easily resulted in a fatal crash if it had occurred during a highway merge or crossing traffic situation. conspicuously convenient timing of failure 2 months and 1000 miles after warranty expiration. after dialogue with ford customer service, ford did not reimburse or cover any of repair costs. *tr

I was driving on my way to work when my car lost power i pulled over turned the car off. upon restarting it the check engine light was on, i preceded to work. when i got off of work and went home the check engine light was off. a week later the symptoms happened again this time it was more then once. close to a total of 10 times in a one hour period. *tr

After entering the highway going down an onramp, reached about 55 mph and suddenly power cut out. car was in drive, yet i could rev engine like it was in neutral. orange wrench warning light appeared and i was able to turn on hazard lights and pull over to side of the highway. turned the car off and restarted and warning light was gone. the next day on the freeway traveling at about 60 mph the car suddenly repeated although now was no longer in neutral, power died. again able to pull over and restart. this morning (3rd time in 4 days) the car repeated the problem turning into a store stalling at about 20 mph. *tr

I was entering the freeway and accelerated to merge when the car lurched and died. i tried to start it and finally did after 3 tries. it would not take gas and only jumped forward slowly-the wrench indicator came on-lucky for me a police car pulled up behind me and protected me from cars coming up behind me.i called a wrecker to take the car home. i got it towed to the ford house the next day-they inspected it and told me they needed to replace the throttle body-had to be ordered. i got online later and discovered that this same thing had happened to hundreds of other drivers. why hasn't this been put on a recall list because of all the incidents? *tr

During morning rush hour traffic, my 2010 ford fusion began to lose acceleration and shake violently while i was traveling at approximately 65 miles per hour. fortunately, i was already in the far right travel lane so i could put on my flashers and pull off the road. i cut the engine and waited for a few minutes. i restarted the car and was able to get to my workplace. based upon my preliminary research, this appears to be a widespread problem that has serious safety implications. i strongly encourage investigation and study of this issue with ford to institute a recall to resolve such issues. *tr

Driving car approx. 50 to 60 miles an hour, engine just stops, no accelerator pedal pressure. wrench light comes on(ford owners manual shows it to be throttle body/drive-train). this has happened several times previous to yesterday's occurrence. we brought the car from drivetime and took it to their mechanic and he said he could not find a stored code, was i do not believe to be true. after searching online concerning some incident, we noticed that owners of the same model car have had the same problem. very dangerous while traveling and the car just quits. apparently ford knows about because a car a local dealer and the parts department has parts on back order. yesterday, 7/10 the check engine light came on and the code was p2112(throttle body stuck closed). something needs to be done about this problem. thanks for your time. *tr

I was driving along an expressway at 55 miles an hour when the car suddenly slowed down and would not accelerate upon stepping on the gas pedal. i had to pull over and turn the car off. when i turned it back on, it ran fine but the wrench light came on and then went off. the next day, the same thing happened on an expressway. i took it to a local garage but no lights were on and it did not repeat the problem. a few weeks later, driving on a street road at 35 mph, the same thing happened. it occurred again a few minutes later on a highway at 55 mph. this time the check engine light came on and stayed on. i went to my local garage the next day and they put the computer on the car and found the problem was the throttle activator. i have just left a message with the dealer today and am waiting to hear back if they will fix it even though the car is no longer under warranty. i am very concerned about driving the car as my daily drive to work is on expressways with limited access to a shoulder to park on. *tr

The morning of july 8, 2013 i was driving at approximately 70 mph on a major interstate (with construction) when my car stalled. my check engine light was flashing and the throttle control/transmission wrench flashing. i at least had enough momentum to go about 100 feet to where there was a shoulder that they were not doing construction on. i ended up shutting my car off and waiting a few seconds. i then turned my car back on to see if it still had the problem. everything appeared to be working fine. i ended up getting back on the interstate and about 5 miles down it happen to do the same thing. at this point i got off the freeway ' shut my car off again. this time i turned my car back on and my check engine light was still flashing. i was about one mile from a ford dealership. i took it there and found out that it was throttle body. the part is on back order and the dealer ship will not receive the part for 7 to 10 business days. this doesn't include the days that it is going to take them to install the part. i am nervous to drive my car even after this part is fixed. i was driving at 70 mph and could of easily got into an accident with all the construction that was going around. i hope that ford takes these complaints serious and takes some action. someone can get seriously hurt with this issue and i hope it doesn't take that for ford to take action! *tr

While driving the car loses power wrench light comes on and the car will not go. it will die as u coast over to the side of the road hoping the whole time the person behind you is not going to rearend you. this was very dangerous. i took it to my local ford dealership and was advised that the throttle actuator control was struck open they could try cleaning it and reset codes or i could purchase a new throttle control. the technician advised me that cleaning them using fixes the problem and thr throttle control part would be on back order and did not know when they could get it. i asked what if it doesnt fix the problem how much money am i out and then have to buy a throttle control. i feel this is a problem ford should be fixing when i can google it and there is a known problem. *tr

Engine appeared to cut out at 2 different instances today. first time was when turning right out of the neighborhood and the 2nd time was when merging with traffic. in both cases, the car lost all power and did not seem to even coast well. i had a blinking wrench on the dash and was lucky to have not been in an accident. car was able to restart after pulling to the side of the road and putting it into park. this has been a sporadic ongoing issue for the last few weeks and will eventually cause an accident unless it is fixed. *tr

i was going down the freeway at approximately 65 mph, and out of nowhere my car lost power and began to decrease speed. i tried to press the accelerator and there was no response. i pulled to the side of the road and put the car in park and it was very rough idling. i turned off the car, waited a few seconds and turned the car back on and it seemed fine. now this has happened to me at least 20 times in the last few months, at random times and speeds. the scariest one for me was in a very busy intersection and my car did this 4 times trying to get through the intersection. i would really like to see this get fixed as soon as possible before someone really does get hurt. *tr

While driving on at least 6 occasions, vehicle stopped propulsing and had no throttle. a code appeared indicating a throttle/ transmission problem. i contacted ford, and they indicated this is a known issue with my make and model, and not covered under warranty. after researching this online there are so many problems, the part has been back-ordered months at a time, more than once. this problem has been noted in the 4 and 6 cylinder engines all trim levels. i was going over a bridge and feared for my life. their should be a recall. this a major safety issue because the vehicle stops without warning, and a driver could be anywhere. lemon law? thanks in advance. *tr

My daughter was returning from a vacation in northwest florida and was driving through opp, alabama, when her 2010 fusion starting jerking badly. the check engine and throttle control warning lights came on. she pulled over, turned the engine off, waited a few minutes, and restarted. as soon as she put in gear, the car starting shaking and she was unable to accelerate. she had to have the car towed to a ford dealership in elba, alabama. the problem was diagnosed as a bad throttle body. she was informed the part was on back order and that it could take a couple of weeks to receive. with no other option, she was forced to rent a car to continue her trip home. the rental car options were slim and it appears this episode will cost her almost $900 including rental car costs (with a $200 one way fee). this doesn't even include the costs to return to the dealership to pick up the car when it's repaired. based on researching and the learning of many other similar experiences that other fusion owners encountered with the exact same problem, it is clear ford has a defective part and should address with a recall. *tr

I was traveling down the highway on cruise control at 70 mph. the car made a sudden jerk, and then the check engine light and a yellow wrench light came on, with no power or acceleration when i stepped on the gas. i coasted to the side of the highway, and when i came to a complete stop, the car shook roughly and i turned it off. a few minutes later, i restarted and everything seemed fine. for the next few days the same thing would happen at various speeds, and it go to the point where i no longer felt safe driving the car. luckily for me, there were no accidents and no one got hurt, but this problem seems to be happening with alot of others, so people are at risk without realizing it. one of the reasons i chose the fusion for my family was because it was marketed as safe and reliable. so far the car has proved to be neither. *tr

The first incident happened when pulling away from a stop light. when i pressed the accelerator there was no response yet the car was running and in gear. the wrench symbol was on the dash. i cut the car off and restarted. the problem was gone. later that day i was driving on the interstate at 65 mph and the car just cut off. i pulled over, turned off the ignition and restarted and everything was again fine. later it happened again while pulling away from a stop light. i shut the engine off mad restarted. this again worked but the engine light stayed on. *tr

After driving over 50 miles, my car stalled and the wrench light came on. i pulled over and let it idle, but it ran rough. once i turned it off and then back on, it ran okay. it stalled again later in that same trip. then it stalled again twice on my way home. luckily, i was on a non busy road with a shoulder. then it seemed to run fine for a few days, but after driving over 50 miles, it happened again. i was nervous because once it stalled as i was turning onto a road without a shoulder. i was concerned that a car would come over the hill and hit me while i was turning it off and restarting it. when i took it to the dealer, i was told that the problem was with the throttle body. when they ordered the part, initially, i was told the part was on backorder and wouldn't be in until mid-august. obviously, there is a major problem with this part when it takes so long to get the part. totally unacceptable to wait that long for a part. now today, my sister-in-law, who also has a 2010 fusion started having the same problem and she has a lot less miles on her car (about 40,000). reading all of the issue others are having with this part on the internet, i feel that there should be a recall on this part and my replacement should be covered. *tr

Driving down the interstate and lost power, as if pedal was not connected to engine. the tachometer fell to idle rpm and wrench light came on. proceeded to glide off to the shoulder where, when stopped, the engine began to shake and shudder. i turned off then restarted my car which took 4 seconds of the engine turning over. started up and all seemed okay but as i went to get back on the interstate it stalled again. proceeded to turn off and on again with no problems. very lucky i was not in traffic on the interstate or could have been in an accident. *tr

As i was driving, i noticed that my car seemed to 'buck'- and alternately feel as if it was losing power and about to stall. this continued for about 10 minutes, until my car lost power entirely, and a 'wrench shaped light' appeared on the display, followed by the check engine light. i shut the car off, and waited a few minutes, and was able to start it, but the same lights and stalling repeated itself in less than one minute. my car was towed to the dealership where i bought it new 3 yrs ago. they diagnosed it as a defective throttle control- and replaced the throttle body at a cost over $400. that was 2 weeks ago, and the problem is repeating itself, exactly as before. the car is going back in on thursday. i feel that this is a safety issue, involving a part which is obviously defective, and that ford customers should not be put at risk, nor expected to continue to pay for repairs. *tr

Traveling aprox 60mph on highway. lost power. yellow wrench symbol came on. coasted to safety. after several minutes tied to restart. restarted normally. finished trip. later computer diagnosis showed po2111 and po2112. ford would not assist . later found many have had similar issues. safety problem! *tr

traveling in left lane at approx 60 to 65 mph, car begins to shudder and stalls. narrowly avoided being rear ended by large truck, was able to pull over. restarted car and engine light appears. car is barely idling while in park. attempt to drive again, car accelerates and shifts fine until reaching 50mph and stalls again. this event was repeated several times. was able to drive car as long as it remained below 50mph. got home, let car cool and started it again to find the engine light is now off. i'm sure this is just another instance in what seems to be many instances like this occurring. i have no other choice but to drive this car until a part can be found which after reading these testimonies seems can be a long wait. this is an obvious issue that should be addressed by ford immediately. i do not feel safe in my own car. unacceptable. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. the contact stated that while driving 35 mph, the vehicle stalled with the illumination of the maintenance light. the failure recurred on several occasions. the vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis but they were unable to duplicate the problem. the manufacturer was notified. the approximate failure mileage was 54,000.

I was going to a friends house. my car would not accelerate. the wrench light came on. if i pressed on the gas pedal the tact would move up but the car wouldn't. it was shaking. it was towed to the dealership and the throttle body was changed. apparently the throttle body is a defective part that needs to be recalled. the dealer said that the part was on back order. then later that day he got 8 new throttle bodies in. seems like a problem if a little dealer like the one i go to has to have 8 throttle bodies in stock at a time. prior to this i know realize my car had an issue from the beginning. when i would be traveling with the cruise control on going down hill, my car would down shift hard and the tact would go up very high. i would have to take off the cruise control. also, when i put my car in drive or reverse from parked it would jump into gear. it has done this again since i had the throttle body changed. this is very upsetting. i've driven fords all my life and career with ford. i believe this is a terrible accident waiting to happen. i've read of a lot of owners of 2010 fusion having the same problem when going 60-75 mph on a highway. scary. also, it seems the same problem has been reported in other makes of ford vehicles. *tr

I was driving on the freeway with my child when my car started jerking and the vehicle lost all power. i had to hurry and put my flashers on and try to get on the side of the road. the jerking caused my driver side seatbelt to pull tight and left marks on my shoulder. a wrench light by the park button came on and was lighted up. i put the car in park and restarted it. the car started and i proceeded to head to the dealership. the car did the exact same thing but this time the check engine light came on. i pulled over and had my car towed to the dealership. this morning they called and said my throttle body needs replaced. the service dept told me they have replaced several of these the last few months and the parts are on back order. he said it can be 7-10 days before the part comes in. this part needs to be recalled. any passenger can get seriously hurt or injured if going high speeds on the interstate when this part goes out. ford needs to do a voluntary recall but if not, the nhtsa needs to . *tr

I was driving and the car power shut off and then the wrench light came on and then i had to restart the car, it took a while but it came on and ran good for a few months and it happened 4 times after that. every time the dealer said they could not find an issue. this last time it happened the engine light stayed on and i had to get the car towed and was told it was my throttle body issue that is a known problem but no recall. *tr

I was driving on highway all f a sudden car starts to stall. i was in my left lane when this happened. pulled on side of road turned car off waited 2 min started car again. as i was approaching 50 to 55 mph car started to stall again with wrench light on.. pulled off again noticed that there was a problem with the vehical. got car towed to shop and come to find out my throttle body needs to be replaced. mechanic said that alot of fusions have been having this problem and its a defective part and its a safety concern. it cost me 600.00 to replace part. this part is a safety concern and can kill alot of people if this part is not recalled.. if there was a semi behind me and i stalled i would b dead for a faulty part ford has not yet seemed to recall.. this is a serious matter and needs to be addressed asap... help save lives not take them!!!!! we purchase cars to be reliable not a death trap! *tr

Car stalls while driving at any speed. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. the contact stated that while driving 70 mph, the vehicle stalled with the illumination of the check engine light on two separate occasions. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnosis where it was stated that the throttle body needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was notified. the approximate failure mileage was 113,000. *tr

Since i have owned the car it would occasionally fail to start on the first turn of the key. the engine would crank for 5+ seconds until i turned the key to the "off" position, removed the key and tried again. it would always start on the second try... just recently (beginning of june 2013) i noticed my tachometer was going from 7000 to 4000rpm at stop signs and traffic lights but the car never stalled. on 6/26/13 after accelerating from a stop sign to about 30 mph the car lost power, the wrench light came on but the car did not stall. i gradually pulled off to the side of the road with my hazards on trying not to cause alarm to the vehicles behind me. i put the car in park, turned the ignition key off and removed the key for 10-20 seconds and restarted the car. everything seemed to be ok so i drove the car home. on 6/27/13 i drove my car approximately 100 miles to my destination without any problems but on the way back i was 20 miles into my return trip and driving at approximately 65mph on the garden state parkway when i experienced the same exact problem from the day before (yesterday). this time i was in heavy rush hour traffic coming out of nyc. i was very fortunate to get to the shoulder of the gsp. again i waited 10-20 seconds and restarted. the idle was rough for a few seconds but was fine after that so i merged back onto the heavily congested road. after another 20-30 miles the car failed for the 3rd time. this time i was able to get to the shoulder easily because i stayed in the right lane knowing a power loss was just a matter of time. i have been fortunate so far because the car has started back up and it was still daylight. my fear is traveling at night on a road without a shoulder which i do a lot and not getting it started. *tr

Driving down interstate at 70 miles per hour in far left lane when vehicle unexpectedly loses power. accelerator pedal completely unresponsive, and engine speed drops to approximately 800 rpm. i had to quickly maneuver across two lanes, which were occupied by tractor trailers to get to right shoulder. came extremely close to having a major accident during heavy traffic which would have certainly involved 15-20 vehicles due to sudden onset and heavy traffic. vehicle idled extremely rough upon stop. vehicle would restart and operate normally for an unknown amount of time, then the same issue would happen again. this appears to be a very common problem for ford fusions built prior to late 2011 and ford escapes. this is a very dangerous malfunction, and a recall should absolutely be issued. online research has a consensus that the problem is a bad throttle body. there are hundreds and hundreds, if not thousands, of the exact same problem from these vehicles. i have been very satisfied with this vehicle until this point. *tr

Yesterday i was driving about 40 and also lost acceleration but still had power, it was weird the car was still on, but the yellow "wrench light" came on indicating it was a throttle control transmission problem! i pulled over put the car in park, turn off the ignition, and restart the car with out a problem. its only 2010 fusion so we shouldn't be having this issue. *tr

While traveling aprox 65mph down a 4 lane hwy at 6:20 am on 6/24/13, my car began to decelerate and would not respond/accelerate when the gas pedal was pressed. the red "wrench" light lit up on the information center on the dash board. i managed to get the car to the side of the road before it finally cut off. i waited a minute or two and tried attempted to restart the engine and it restarted successfully. i was able to cautiously continue driving until i reached a ford dealership later that morning at which point they told me it the throttle body. they went on to say that ford was not covering this repair and that there was no recall in effect! this repair cost me $300 of which i could not spare from my budget! thankfully there were no cars or tractor trailer behind when my car began to decelerate! this needs to be a safety recall immediately, before many people are killed!!!! *tr

While driving on 476 in pa, the car lost power and the gas pedal was unresponsive. i was able to pull over and when i turned off the engine a warning/event light went on indicating throttle/transmission issues. i was to call for assistence but waited a few minutes and started the car, and proceed to work ( about 40 minutes of driving. i called the dealership to make repair arrangement and was advised the car is drivable and that some of these throttle issues are "intermittent". the car stalled 3 more time on my way home, about 75 miles and it seemed to stall every 20 or so minutes. car is now at the dealership awaiting replacement part(s). *tr

I was driving and all of sudden my car stalled in the middle of traffic and almost caused an accident. a wrench symbol displayed on the dash as i tried to accelerate on the gas but could not move. i to hurry up and pull out of traffic before i got it. i turned the car off and waited a few minutes started it back up drive two blocks and it did it again. i only had the car less than a year and could have a caused a bad accident with the car stalling in the middle of traffic. i thanks god for watching over me. im a single parent and need a vehicle and don't have money for costly repairs. *tr
