Problems with 2015 Chrysler 200 POWER TRAIN

The car stalls and shuts down with no warning at all. has been in the shop for the last 3 weeks. it was bought used from drivetime in duluth georgia. i was told by national tire and battery that they were not going to touch when i took it there for repair, they recommend that i take it to a chrysler dealer, at that time it would randomly stall but would start back up so i went to work the next day and they car stalled again and got really sluggish i was able to make over to chrysler dealership in buford georgia. they said it needed a tire sensor after they put the tire sensor on it stalled out on them again so they then said it needed a abs modular once they installed the abs modular took it for a test drive and it stalled on them again then they said they found some loose wires near the transmission the fixed and the car was running. i had the car for 2 days and it stalled out again. drivetime then sent a tow truck over to take the car back to chrysler in buford now they are saying the car needs a wiring harness at this point to me the car is unsafe and not reliable at all. i pick my grandkids up daily and i can not afford to have them in the back seat and the cars stalls and we get hit. obviously they don't know what wrong and they are speculating. i have only had this car 4 month on february 12th 2020 and it's been in the shop for the last 3 weeks and chrysler can't even repair a chrysler... this is a huge problem. drivetime is paying for everything so far except our funerals god forbid something awful should happen. this all happened on highway 78 in snellville georgia and they car was in motion when it stalled out. this is unsafe, we could have been rammed the car just shuts down in the middle of accelerating, slowing down for a turn, going downhill, in the intersection it has shut down but that time it started right back up

The transmission is not going into gear when the knob is turned there are several complaints about this i was told there where no open recalls about this problem. i feel if the auto maker knows about this they should address my concern with or without a recall.

I bought a 2015 chrysler 200c about 2years ago. a few days ago my check engine light came on. i took it to the dealer and had it checked and they said that my engine have a defect in it which caused the cylinder heads to malfunction. i was told this is common with the v6 engines in these vehicles. i was told that chrysler put a extended warranty on 2011 models thru 2014. my 2015 although ithas the same engine didn't make the cut. everyone i call say my warranty expired and there's nothing they can do now i'm stuck with a car that i'm paying for that's practically no good

My transmission jerks very bad in between every gear. one moring i was driving out of my house and i heard a loud pop from under the car and smelled something burning i see every other 200 is on the recall for the transmission but this one i really wish someone would look in to it . the dealer said it's normal for the car to shake and jerk i work on cars that's not true.

Over the last 3-4 days my 2015 chrysler 200 has been very unpredictable, leaving my self and my family afraid and unable to drive it. several times, while in motion on a main highway and on a a city street (x3) my vehicle has completely jolted me to a stop, either shutting down or saying i was in p instead of drive. obviously, i had started and shifted to drive to get from point a to my "shut down" location, which leaves me confused on why it would say i was in park all of the sudden. no, my emergency break was not on. also, it also seems as if it was try sticking in either d3 or d4 gears randomly from time to time over the last week. i was helped by 3 officers to get my vehicle pushed and moved back to my residence. this last incident occurred while trying to break at a stop light. i am unsure of the components causing these problems so i am listing them as unknown. i have reviewed 8 recalls pertaining 2015 chrysler 200s but am unsure of a recall number i would list.

When stopped or slowing down from barnes road that crosses powers one of the busy roads in colorado springs, the car shoots forward real fast almost shooting me into on coming traffic. this has happened several times now, but my foot is on the break.. then when you let your foot off the break it wont move like it has slipped out of gear, i push the gas pedal a couple of times and then it goes into gear. at times when you put it in reverse all of a sudden the e break engages and it jolts you to a dead stop,i have to push the button a couple of times for it to release. i'm starting to wish i never bought this car,

I've only had my car for less than 2 months now and the car is not switching gears properly, the car also will not start sometimes the message displays that it is not in park and will not start for a while. on 11/22/2019 the car would not start and it also would not turn off, it was stuck in acc and on mode, it took about 3 hours to get the car to completely shut down. also, while i'm driving when it actually moves it acts like it wants to cut off while driving on the streets.

All kinds of things chrysler 200 . my car has 31000 miles and there's alot of things wrong with it . if it doesn't heat up for 15 to 20 min the car will sputter and due every time i slow down , sometimes it goes into limp mode . also sometimes it does shift right and the oil pressure light comes on and off when i slow down to go around corners and it gets to sputter and due out . i've had a couple occasions that i have been driving 35 to 40 mph and the car just dies on the road while driving.

****note - need more information. contacted consumer 12/12/19**** tl the contact owns a 2015 chrysler 200. the contact stated that all the warning indicators were illuminated when the vehicle was in use. in addition, the gear became stuck in neutral and required the contact to manually release the gear out of neutral. afterwards, the vehicle would only travel in reverse. the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that an electrical failure occurred and suggested the vehicle be taken to a dealer. dodge country (1902 e central texas expy, killeen, tx 76541, (254) 200-3900) was contacted and a diagnostic appointment was scheduled. the vehicle was not repaired and the failure recurred. the manufacturer was made aware of the failures and informed the contact that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 16v529000 (power train). the failure mileage was approximately 87,000. the vin was unknown.

When accelerating or coming to a stop the car will lunge forward forcefully. seems like there are several owners with the same issue. how many times the the issue need to be reported before issuing a recall as this is very unsafe

Vehicle will shift into neutral at random times. car will be moving in an uphill motion when this happens, usually on freeways. service transmission indicators constantly shows.

Driving 55 mph engine stalls ,battery light came on,transmission shifting info center coming on,stall and setting still

My 2015 chrysler 200 cuts off while driving. there are no warning lights on the dash yet. the vehicle cuts off approximately up to three times a day, which is quite scary especially due to the fact of it doing so in the middle of moving traffic. there is no specific time where it cuts off, its random. i have to take a few minutes to restart and when i do restart it stall as if it does not wan to crank, but eventually ends up cranking. this issue recently started a few weeks ago, and i have only had this vehicle for a year.

Once i tried starting my car i got no key fob detected. when i placed my key fob next to the start button everything would power up but wouldn't crank. the air would turn on the nuetral would flash on the gears shaft but still wouldn't crank. it then wouldn't turn off from run. the car eventually wouldn't show any power so i had it towed to the dealership. they said it was the battery which they replace a year prior so it wouldn't be no cost. pulis they did an oil change. i called and they said my car was ready. when i picked up my car i noticed the air wasn't turning on and the check engine light on. i went back and spoke with a sales person whom said to bring it back the next day cause the mechanics was gone. i brung it back know they saying the body and transmission needs to be reprogrammed and want to charge me a fee of $700. i'm trying to figure how it went from just a dead battery to know my air don't work and the car needing to be reprogrammed. this is total unfair to me and i've seen several others going through the same problems. if my battery wouldn't have died after only a year i wouldn't need my car reprogrammed and have to spend almost $700. last year i had an issue with the car cutting off while driving that i had to have fixed now this

The car runs really rough, loud noise, loss of power and vehicle shuts down. idles rough and jumps when placed in gear or accelerating. the vehicle stops and i unable move car even if the gear shift is placed in neutral. the vehicle stop when in motion.

Vehicle will not start up, all lights will come on dash but will not turn on or crank. vehicle displayed "service shifter" as well as "service transmission" signs and then would not accelerate over 34 mph. check engine lights comes on but then turns off by itself. i just purchased the car and haven't had it for 15 days.

My car has been taken to the shop 4 times in the last 3 months for the same problem. my car will stall or just shut off. initially they said the oil cover was not put on securely and they fixed it. now the car is stalling and hard to shift gears. my transmission light and engine light are on. the light is saying to service transmission. once again i just got it out of the shop for the same thing. tired customer. several times my vehicle was moving when it just stopped. this last time i was at a traffic light.

My car has shut off while driving i was pulling off of a stop sign this is a huge saftey hazard

The car stalled at a stop sign and stalled again 3 times after that. it read shift to p to start i did that and it would not let me change gear after that. i know this is a common problem with the chrysler 200 so it should be a recall. this is a huge safety issue it happened while driving in a roundabout and people could have rear ended me.

My 2015 chrysler 200 limited would not start and the brake was extremely tight. i was glad i was parked in my garage and not driving only to have it stall. the lights and radio came on at first. i thought maybe my key fob battery was low so i used another key fob with a fresh battery. well it still didn't start. so went to work. luckily i have an old car i could use. when i came home to see if the car would start it was completely dead. no lights, no dashboard lights, trunk won't open, doors won't lock and unlock. just completely dead. i have had the car for four years now and it has given me a couple of problems but this is the worst. i wish i had never bought this vehicle. it is a total waste of money. now i will have to take it to the dealer again!

At about 46,0000 miles the valve body in the transmission needed to be replaced. the transmission light came on and said it needed to be serviced. i took it straight to the dealership in albany, ny where i bought the car, and they had to replace the valve body x2 because the car failed to start after the first replacement.

When hitting the breaks sometimes the vehicle stalls out in the middle of traffic having to put in park position and try to restart the car. sometimes take a minute to even restart and it doesn't always let me shift it into drive right away. this in result could cause someone to rear end me. i am noticing there is a recall called r24 which seams to be what is happening to my vehicle.

On several occasions, while driving the vehicle the call would stall, lose power and simply shut off. no warning at all. this has occurred on the interstate, city highway and city roads. usually after 2 -3 attempts to restart the car, it will start and proceed. extremely dangerous, one time it stalled on the interstate and when i pressed the brake to try and stop, the braking system does not function the same when the car is not on verses when the car is running. it almost caused me to hit the vehicle in front of me. one a separate occasion, it stalled on the city road headed to work, going up a hill and the car behind me almost collided with me. this seems to be a commonly reported problem on many review sites fo the chrylser 200. what will it take to get some attention to this issue, for the right person to get in a bad accident???

Transmission issues for almost a year. i have explained them to the dealership who refuses to document. i purchased this car new the summer of 2015. it had sealants misssing from the manufacture and so it had a leak that resulted in the dealership having my car for 2 months and me having to force them to replace my carpeting they let sit in the sun for 2 weeks and mold and to replace parts in my car that they broke the clips on trying to find the leak. several times they called me to come and get my car with mold in it and parts still hanging. i had to get managers involved. i came to get an oil change once and they sent me out onto the street without tightening the lugs and i was wobbling down the street and they lied and said the pressure was off balance. once my car shut off with no oil it. they said it's likely the engine. my tire pressure has been saying its low since about a week after purchasing the car. soon as i put air in, less than 24 hours its low. the windshield wipers have always sounded extremely loud. i had a thermometer go out before 3 yrs old. i barely have 30,000 miles on my car right now. now my car wouldn't stay on when i tried to take it out of park in my driveway thurs. it stalled for a second to start up then it wouldn't come back on. i tried several times until it cranked up like normal, but then it refused to switch gears saying check transmission and park sense and to put back in park then shift gears. after that i had to have my battery charged to crank. the next day i had to get a boost. my battery and alternator tested good, but the check engine light is now on mentioning a throttle sensor and watchdog performance. dealership claims my battery is bad. i again told them my transmission wasn't sensing correcrtly and switching gears cuts my car off sometimes. the technician says i need to pay $428 to have them replace my "bad" battery first.

Car started making an awful clanking noise when turning. had three (3) different places look at it and they all said it was the transmission. took it to spitzer chrysler in brook park, oh who said it was everything but the transmission. they wanted to charge me more than the car is worth. had it towed to a different chrysler dealer as it's undrivable and leaked all it's transmission fluid out.

Car jerks when i push accelerator. sometimes the car puts itself in neutral while driving. car shuts off while driving.

'tamara recall' i was parked in a parking lot i press the start button i engage the drive knob in the center counsel and pulled up to an entrance of a building tried to engage the park my parking brake went on and my sensors and dash started reading service transmission it would not go into park i shut off the car put the parking brake on shut off my car tried turning it back on and the same service transmission came on

Randomly my transmission service notification and check engine light will come on. most times it is while driving but sometimes it happens while in parked. while driving, i have to pull over and cut off the car for a few seconds to get the transmission service notification to go away but the check engine light stays on and goes away when the car hasn't been drove for hours. it used to happen once every time i traveled to another city but now it happens when i drive longer than 15 minutes.

The transmission drive trans is making a clunking noise every time you would stop i took it in and they updated the pcm and transmission control module it shifted better but the clinking noise is still there.the e break automatically comes on frequently when you put it in reverse out of nowhere. the clinking noise happens more when you're in the city and on the highway end it feels like the abs comes on as well but not for sure

Vehicle was running and it switches gears while in drive, a few weeks later a service shifter and service trans message pops up. car gets stuck in park, have to use manual over ride to tow it. get told it is an electrical issue and not a transmission issue to replace transmission shifter module.

Vehicle shuts off randomly while driving and sending a message to put in park and restart vehicle. several message lights come on that indicate there is an issue with the electrical components. also, the service airbag message comes on every few seconds and airbag light stays on.

First started june 21, the car stalled on my wife at a red light and wouldn't go back into park finally get it going toke it to the dealership and they said the transmission need updates and did the updates and said i was good to go upon driving it home the dash lite up with service transmission and service park brake i toke it back and was told the speed sensor was dirty and they cleaned it and it was good to go i lick the car up and upon hitting 40 mph the same lights came on then i was told speed sensor was bad so they replaced it again upon picking it up hitting 40 mph sameights came on so they have now had it going on the 4th week

On june 19 at approximately 9:15am, i was driving home from work to take my son to summer camp. i was about 5 minutes from my job. i had just crossed a bridge. my car hit a guardrail and i spun into the middle of the lane. i was not distracted or on my phone. i take that same road everyday and never had an issue. when i got out of the car, i noticed that the axle and wheel had come completely off. i was told by the witnesses and the tow truck driver that the cv axle had broke off which caused me to hit the guardrail. i am a safe driver and this was my first accident. i purchased the car in january of this year from carvana and it was delivered to me on february 2nd. the car was serviced in january according to the paperwork that i found in the glove compartment. had i been on the highway, this could have been a more serious issue. i was not speeding. there was a car in front of me that was merging off onto the off ramp so i had actually slowed down. that axle should not have come off that easily. something needs to be done about this.

2015 chrysler 200 limited when accelerating from park the car is reving to 3rd and 4th but going slowly getting stuck between those two gears then jerking and giving dragging affect after. while on the highway or street car drags after stopping and then accelerating. var feels as if it is fishtailing and the wheels are getting stuck for a mibute before it jerks back into place. air bag sensor goes on and off from time to time. when it comes on it will sometimes stay on for days sometimes weeks at a time. oil changes have been done regularly. juat started happening on 6/19/2019. car seems to pull and vibrate even harder when the a/c unit is on. car also has a hard vibrating noise under hood. miles:93,800 transmission is under warranty until 100,000 miles no check engine light has came on as of yet.

Car will stall and will indicate on the dash to shift into park while the d flashs on both the dash and on the gear selector. once the car is in park and i try to restart the car it sounds like it tries to start and times out and i have to try again.

When coming to a stop or accelerating from a complete stop either turning or straight, the engine stalls without warning & there is no power steering or momentum to safely pull over. i have been stuck with hazards on at neighborhood stop signs, in stopped traffic after the light turns green, freeway on ramps, in the center of small & large intersections blocking traffic, on railroad tracks, & more. it can take up to 3 tries for the engine to restart. obviously this is extremely unsafe, & i do not believe that i should be stuck in an intersection because a newer car with such low miles dies every day, often several times a day. in addition, the transmission is very jerky & the engine does not run smoothly once it restarts. that also happens occasionally upon the first start of the day. i do not understand why my vehicle was not included in the recall for this exact issue. i do have videos of this, but can not upload them. the date below is the date of one of the videos, this problem occurs daily & has been for several weeks. after purchasing the car, there were a few incidents months apart, then it became more frequent, & for the last several weeks it is a daily occurrence.

Vehicle suspension seems to have gone bad. 2015 sedan now sounds like an older car when riding over rough spots in pavement. also, awd not available light first flashed on when taking a left turn on rainy day. it was followed by service awd indicator light coming on. at first these indicator lights would come on intermittently, but now come on each time engine is started and the service awd light now stays on until the engine is shut off.

These past few days my car has been stalling out with no warning. all of these times i have been driving in traffic. the car stalls and message will appear to something upon put your foot on the brake and put in park. once you do that the car will try to restart itself. my car eventually restarts but has still yet restarted on the first try. there is no check engine light on or any other warning codes( no warning codes before nor after the stalling). this is a big safety issue chrysler needs to look into and address.
