When down shifting from 6-5 and 5-4 the rpms increase approximatly 500 rpms car continues to roll at constant speed also when pulling into garage it shifts to 1st gear and lounges forward it has stalled to point of having to pull off highway have no luck with repairs.

Vehicle in motion has unexpected shifting to neutral, jumps into gear when accelerating and decelerating. vehicle wiring to airbags is damaged with no accident. car power randomly powers off in motion. these issues have been ongoing for about 2 years now since i got the vehicle.

In november 2015, while driving to virginia from florida, the transmission service light came on, check engine light illuminated, paddle shifters were disabled, and the vehicle went into a limp mode. i was able to get into gas station and tried to place into park, dash then told me not able to place into park, thus i forced it to turn off. i returned to the car 20 minutes later and it started back up with the check engine light still on and i was able to drive home. the check engine light then cleared itself and took to dealer 2 days later, they stated nothing was wrong w/ it but maybe the wiring recall would fix it but they were able to find a stored code that said it was a communication breakdown with the transmission. i began to have hard shifting issues in march. i finally had to contact chrysler customer care as the dealer would not timely fix the recall. it was then fixed in march. they did a learn and play on the transmission and it has fixed the hard shifting. since march, 3 difference occasions with two of them in the two weeks and multiple times on each occasion the transmission service light has illuminated, check engine light come on, and the car go into limp mode. the limp mode is very dangerous as it puts me in the middle of the street sometimes and cannot go anywhere. i have been left in the middle of exit ramps of highways, i have been left at lights, etc. each time we go to the dealer and they cannot recreate this (but they state they can only drive it a few miles) so it never gets fixed. this time, i was told by the service manager, chrysler knows of the issue and it is a low voltage issue telling the transmission to shut down but they said they are trying to get it approved by the federal govt as a recall. i have great concerns of this car, i have paid $32,000 for a new car and it leaves me very vulnerable and not safe at all!

Purchased 6/29/2015 had no issues with the car at all until i took it in for oil service on nov 21st, 2015 and was told there was a software update that had to be done. (wasn't given an option). since that update the car shifts extremely rough when down shifting from 2 to 1 and lurches violently forward, it also shifts hard from 1 to 2. the dealership gives you the explanation that i need to drive it 1k miles and it should be ok? it is a danger to drive and my wife won't use it.

I had a safety recall on my 200, take it to the dealership on nov 18th, 2015. they reprogram module, powertrain control (pcm). right after that my transmission started to act all crazy, not shifting right or down shifting. i called the dealership again, got it back on december 2nd, 2015. they said they re did the transmission and they have advised me to drive it like that for two weeks to relearn drivind and to bring it back if it doesn't improve. the car is acting even worse, the tachometer seems like it is not coordinated with the speed, the transmission seems like not releasing when i brake. i feel unsafe driving it, this is not the car i bought a year ago. i drive at least 50 miles per day in a car that doesn't give me a good feeling about it.

Car began lurching forward upon acceleration so when i took it in for a recall, i asked that the dealership look at it. they stated that it was fixed with a software update that they completed. the next day the car began lurching forward every time i came to a stop. once i come to a complete stop it shifts and lurches like it wants to go. i took it back to the dealership, where two employees tell me they are aware of many with issues like this but according to chrysler nothing is wrong. the paper work they gave me states nothing is wrong. the car lunges every time you stop. this is not "normal". the dealership says that once another software update to fix it is available they will call me. i don't understand, if "nothing is wrong" why would they need to call me when a fix is available? this car is dangerous and it has 2,300 miles on it.

Takata recall on or about 8/25/15, i purchased w/warranty a 2015 chrysler 200 (used). the car shut down while @ a traffic light. on or about 10/11/15. towed to fulton dodge, jeep, chrysler, sacto. ca. for "recall repairs" i experienced the car making forward jerking motions when downshifting & coming to a stop on numerous occasions, again on or about nov. 2015, i were at a local grocery store when the car would not start, and was towed to elk grove dodge, jeep chrysler for further diagnostic and repairs. the car after several weeks driving started jerking upon downshifting and would skip the #2 gear. the vehicle in question was brought back into elk grove dodge, jeep chrysler for further transmission & software repairs on or about dec. 2015. several letters and emails had been written to chrysler corporation complaining about the matter. a "lemon law" complaint had been filed march 2016, settled on or about 4/13/16 with fca., buying back the chrysler, and reimbursement of payments made, except reimbursement for keeping the car insured, i've yet to be notified when and where to return the "coffin" chrysler. my life has been in jeopardy from day of purchase.

Takata recall i started to notice that the vehicle would jerk when switching gears and would almost feel like it ran into a wall soon after i purchased it. here recently it has happened a lot more frequently. i have taken the car to the dealer 3 separate times to see what the problem is. i was told they were unable to see the problem while they drove the vehicle so was unable to fix it. if i was able to make the problem happen i would as it happens sporadically!

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 chrysler 200. while driving approximately 35 mph, the vehicle independently slowed down and stalled as the "put into park" warning indicator illuminated. it took several attempts to start the vehicle; however, the failure recurred after driving approximately 50 feet. the failure recurred on several occasions while driving the vehicle. the vehicle was not taken to the dealer. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 24,000.

Hello, my transmission in my brand new chrysler 200s (2 weeks old) failed as i was traveling about 75 mph straight on the highway. i got a message similar to: "transmission failed - pull over to the side of the road" and my car began to brake. i pulled over and stopped my car, but the engine would not turn off - it is a push-to-start. i got it towed to the dealership, where they informed me that transmission gave an "offline" message to my engine and shut down. luckily, there was nobody behind me on the road or there would have been a high-speed collision. after doing a little online research, it appears other people have been having similar issues and this a serious safety concern. i would not put my family back in this car, and other people should be aware of this issue.

Driver received recall notice r24 for chrysler (nhsta 15v-470)in the mail during the week of 9/28/15 - 10/2/15. on 10/5/15, while driving at 65mph, car jerked and check engine light came on. approximately 2 miles later at 65mph, car jerked again, shifted to neutral, and "service transmission" message flashed on the screen next to speedometer. the electrical problem (concerning the recalled part) caused power to the vehicle to cease and driver was forced to coast to shoulder of interstate highway (in rush hour traffic and through weigh station entrance ramp). car was completely off with no battery power after shifting to neutral. while stopped, driver attempted to restart the vehicle (immediately after pulling over) with no success. after 10 minutes and a few phone calls to figure out what to do, driver was able to restart the vehicle. the check engine light was still illuminated, and the car would not accelerate as usual (max 45mph, still on interstate, still rush hour). the driver was able to slowly drive the car to the dealership, almost being rear-ended twice. the service manager stated driver would be eligible for a complimentary rental only if they were able to diagnose it as a recall defect. the manufacturer's "rep" was able to determine that the problem was in fact due to the recalled part, and a rental was obtained. the car has been in the dealership's car repair parking lot for over two weeks, with no replacement part/repair on its way.

My engine turned off while driving. i was on a one lane ramp, going about 25 or 30 miles per hour around a bend. the transmission was in drive, not park or neutral. i could not restart my engine. additional safety features such as forward collision warning, lane sense, and park sense were disabled. i was blocking traffic - the only way to get around me was to go up onto the sidewalk, which is not safe. people behind me tried to help by pushing the car, but could not. i had to call the police to send incident response to push me out of the way. the incident response truck also could not push me out of the way, but after rocking my car several times in an attempt to push the car, the engine would start. the check engine light came on and the screen showed a message saying to service transmisison. i drove to a parking lot and called a tow truck to take me to a dealership. i have found many cases of this happening to other 2015 chrysler 200 owners, and i think there needs to be an investigation and possibly a recall. the dealership cannot tell me what caused the issue, only that their service manual says reflashing the transmission control module should solve the problem. chrysler coporate also cannot tell me what caused the issue. several testimonies online say that their car was not fixed by reflashing the tcm. having your new car die on the road while driving with absolutely no warning is an unacceptable, possibly fatal risk. i only hope if this happens again, i won't be in an intersection or in front of a semi-truck on the highway.

I have brought my car to the dealership repair shop 18 times about something is wrong with my transmission. i have all paperwork to back it up that these technicians and chrysler's star keep telling me that either they don't hear anything or no it's normal. well today my check engine light came on and the screen said service transmission. but there's nothing wrong with it i thought. to make matters more upsetting to me on wednesday the 23rd of september i got a call from the dealership if the tech can take it home overnight 9 miles away to see if what i feel or hear (hesitation, rattling, and jerking) is true. normal yet again! by the way the airbag light is still on waiting for them to call because they are waiting to get a new wiring harness to fix the issue. the airbag part has been in the shop 7 times going on 8 and has been repaired that many times. oh and the airbag a so called safety issue isn't really a safety issue according to the dealership and chrysler. they sent me home with it. the same tech that said the car tranny is normal. i have children and yet they keep telling me the 2015 chrysler 200 is suppose to be this way. someone even had the nerve to guarantee me that if i'm involved in an accident it will deploy. chrysler and the techs that go through all this training still can not fix a car with issues. even with my car having stayed over the 30 day mark with the same issues that can not be resolved chrysler will not buy back my car. please someone look into it.

Car was running beautifully on september 22nd. it was parked in the garage overnight. when i started it the morning of the 23rd, the check engine light flashed and the car was idling very roughly. i drove slowly to the dealer, doug smith chrysler in american fork, ut. they diagnosed the problem as being a cart and horse concern: apparently the coil on the #6 cylinder had failed and also the coil driver in the pcm had also failed. they don't know which occurred first and then likely caused the other problem. my concern is that the car was nearly undriveable as it was; what if the pcm had suffered a cascading damage of some sort? especially, what if this had happened while i was traveling 70mph on the freeway? i just think that a component of such importance as the pcm should not fail after only 11000 miles. i now have concerns about the replacement: will it be brand new or rebuilt? if rebuilt, how reliable will that end up being? i also feel that a spark plug coil should be more robust than to fail at only 11000 miles. i believe this failure could represent a severe danger to myself and possibly to others if it happened while the car was being driven.

After changing lanes on the freeway i turned left turn signal to off position and the right turn signal then came on. turned the right one on then off to get it to stop and the left one came back on. then they were switching between left and right with me doing nothing. finally i thought to turn hazard lights on then off to see if that would work and it did. about 3 weeks later i was riding and my fiance was driving and the turn signal came on by itself while driving down the freeway. he had to turn them on and off several times to get them to actually turn off. on another occasion i was in my sister's driveway and put the car in park and pushed the button to turn the car off. the display on the dash said that the car had to be in park before it could be turned off. since the car was already in park on the dial, i put it into reverse and back into park to try to get it to work and when that didn't work i put it into drive and moved slightly forward then put it back into park where it finally recognized that it was actually in park and allowed me to turn it off. i took the car to the dealership where they said that there were no error codes and they could not replicate the issues, but would make note of them.

My airbag light was going on and off throughout the day. i brought it to the dealer and they didn't find any codes but the light was off. i went down the road and it turned back on so i went back. they found the same code that's been giving me issues regarding the passenger seat. 7 times for the same issue. i had brought my car back and forth since march 2015 for the tranny issue. it jerks, hesitates, and rattles. on a serious note my neck hurts cause it causes me to jerk forward. all chrysler keeps doing is reprogramming my computer on the tranny but it doesn't work. i have over 17 work orders, over 30 days of staying in the shop, and all they do is reprogram it per chrysler star orders. recently i went to reverse the vehicle and it shot forward then knocked into reverse. the buyback program is a lie. please do not purchase the chrysler 200. it's just a headache and a waste of money.

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 chrysler 200. while driving various speeds, the vehicle stalled when depressing the accelerator pedal. on one occasion, the lights on the gear shifter began flashing and the vehicle shut off without warning. the vehicle was able to be restarted and operated normally after the unexpected shut off. the dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failure. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the failure mileage was approximately 60,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 chrysler 200. while driving at approximately 35 mph, the vehicle would shift gears and get stuck in between gears. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the contact received a notification of nhtsa campaign number: 15v470000 (electrical system) however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. the manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. the approximate failure mileage was 18,500.

Before reaching 1000 miles, i knew that there were terrible problems with the engine: jerking, hesitating and stalling. these engine/transmission problems make my car unsafe to drive as we have experienced several close encounters with accidents as a result of these defective problems!!. i have complained to our dealership where i purchased my car. but for some reason they couldn't get me in to check on my vehicle because of so many of the same issues i was told & also stated that it wasn't their fault to check with chrysler corp?? since then was almost killed twice (my whole family)!! merging onto i-20 in georgia, going about 50 while merging when there was a tractor trailer moving up quickly in my rear view mirror i hit the gas but nothing happened!!! i started yelling oh my god my kids screamed daddy my wife screaming then, the car shuts off so now im without power, the truck started laying on his horn then there was blue smoke from the tires of the truck!! "twice" this has happened!!! other incidents, while pulling up to a stop sign or stop light while slowing to stop it would jerk then speed up sometimes throwing me into on coming traffic!! something has to happen!! this car is a death trap!!

While driving at 30mph the 200c jerked forward and completely stopped. all lights on the gear control were lit and the car completely stalled. the system said to pull over safely and to put the car into park and shut the car off. we were unable to do any of this because the care was stuck in drive so we were unable to even push the car to a safe area. we waited 20 minutes in hope that the car would reset itself. unfortunately it did not and we were advised by road side assistance to disconnect the battery in order to reset the car. unfortunately we did not have a wrench in the car in order to disconnect the battery and we had to flag someone down for a wrench. very surprised that roadside assistance did not come out to help with the situation. after disconnecting the battery and waiting about 1 minute the car reset and we were able to restart the car. since this happened the other day we now drive with a wrench in order to disconnect the battery. when i called for service chrysler said that they are unaware of any recalls for this safety issue!!! this was a very dangerous situation since cars were flying off of the expressway and could have rear ended us. unfortunately when this happens you are stuck in drive and you can't even push the car. service department at the dealership was not very helpful until today when i heard from their manager. they told me that there were no recalls for this issue but to bring the car in and they would see what they could do.

My car jerks and/or hesitates while driving. from a complete stop position my car has sputtered without going any place. i would have to turn off my vehicle in the middle of the road and turn it back on so i can get it to go. i have a rattling sound coming from the engine compartment and you can hear it clearly coming from the passenger side with the windows down. a brand new car and it has a lot of tranny issues. the 9 speed automatic is the worst design with major flaws. chrysler doesn't do anything unless it throws a code. 15 times in the repair shop and it is still there with the same issue that no tech can figure out. please someone do something about this. the buyback program they offer is a sham don't believe them.

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 chrysler 200. the contact stated that the vehicle would not start. the vehicle was towed to the dealer and an unknown repair was performed, however, the failure recurred. on another occasion, the contact stated that while coming to a complete stop and the brake pedal depressed , the vehicle continued to move and swayed left and right. the vehicle was taken to the dealer and was diagnosed that the vehicle needed an alignment. the vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was unknown.

I was stopped at stop sign when i took foot off brake pedal to accelerate it couldn't get traction with back tiers it felt like the back right tire locked up and it jerked back and forth until i took foot off accelerator. i stopped but couldn't see anything wrong. this happened on 8-28-15. on 8-29-15 was in a drive thru and when car is in park and i put in drive it makes a clicking sound from engine and car jerks somewhat with my foot on the brake. i have noticed that when i accelerate it hesitates to go. i am very concerned about this problem because i am almost scared to drive it because of the hesitation to go, and could cause a wreck if the tire thing happens again.

Engine light had came on again as i was driving to the store when it hesitated slightly, several times its been in for "fuel issues" which started back in oct 14', but this time it needed and tcm update. after this was done it came back with a code reading it needed a new transmission. i'm glad mine was just starting the jerking over the last few weeks, even though now that i think about it, it may have been far longer then that but only occasionally, in reverse and when getting up to speed.this car has too many issues and is a safety issue to drive because at any moment your transmission can drop on it. for a new car this is too much and someone is going to lose their life driving this car if it cuts out at the wrong time.

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 chrysler 200. while driving 30 mph, the vehicle lost power. the accelerator pedal was depressed, but the vehicle failed to accelerate and increased in rpms. the failure recurred on numerous occasions. the vehicle was taken to a dealer on multiple occasions, but they could not diagnose or repair the vehicle. the vin was included in nhtsa campaign number: 16v529000 (power train). the part needed to repair the vehicle was unavailable. the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 2,000. vin tool confirms parts not available.

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 chrysler 200. while driving 55 mph, the engine stalled and all the warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. the failure occurred numerous times. when the contact depressed the brake pedal, the vehicle began to accelerate. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the tcm failed and needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 9,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 chrysler 200. while attempting to drive and shift the gear lever into the drive position, the vehicle jerked before moving forward. the failure recurred on numerous occasions. the vehicle was taken to a dealer who repaired the vehicle under nhtsa campaign number: 15v090000 (power train); however, the failure persisted. the vin was also included in nhtsa campaign number: 15v470000 (electrical system); however, the part needed to repair the vehicle was unavailable. the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was unknown.

Transmission issues: when trans down shifts from 8th to 7th gear it speeds up before down shifting to 6th while braking is a scary feeling. also jumps out of 5th when upshifting while accelerating. other issues when pulling in to traffic from a yield lane below 35 mph trans slips before upshifting and puts you in on coming traffic and the vehicle just hesitates which could cause someone to rear end me.

I was traveling on highway 17 and attempting to traverse an overpass at 66mph, when suddenly my check engine light came on and the car began to lurch and decelerate. i put on my hazards and was attempting to apply brakes and navigate to the shoulder when i lost my ability to steer the vehicle and the service transmission alarm began going off. i pressed the brakes until the car came to a complete stop (thankfully was not rear-ended) and turned the car off and back on. luckily the car restarted, however after traveling less than 500ft the problem occurred again. this time i was able to pull into a parking lot and call my husband. i turned the car off and waited a few minutes before restarting, however the car only stayed on for about 45 seconds before it died and would not restart. i contacted chrysler roadside assistance after providing my location, the customer service rep asked me the following question point blank "were you driving down the road and your car stalled?" to which i replied that it was curious she asked me that as it was exactly what happened. i asked her if it was a known issue and she said no she was just required to ask the question. the car was towed to the dealership and the following codes were noted: p2302, p2305, p2308, p2311. intermittent aod and b feed circuits f3 3. the dealership flashed the pcm, inspected, repaired the pdc connector c4 terminal pushouts on pins 15 & 18. but after reading the numerous complaints here, i was not convinced that the issue was resolved. i contacted my friend and sales person who's father owned the dealership, and they assisted us with a vehicle trade as having your car die and lose steering at 66mph is a huge safety issue. i am amazed at the number of complaints on this site which has failed to raise alarm for both chrysler and nhtsa....i guess someone has to die first due to this issue...

While driving on the expressway at approx 65 mph my vehicle cut off without warning. i lost all power. i was able to manuever to the shoulder and then the check engine light and transmission failure light came on. it took several minutes turning vehicle on and off and trying to shift before the vehicle would come on and shift into drive. this occured on two other occassions. the last time almost resulted in an accident because i couldn't get out of the way of cars coming behind me.

Had a doctor's appt. leaving home 2min. into drive car didn't go over 5mi. stopped car ran throw gears until i felt it catch ,brakes fade sitting at a light , car speeds up going down hill ,smell of burning wires 6/28/2015 .

Takata recall well i guess i'll join in with the rest. my 200 is just about a year old. i have just a little over 10,000 miles on it. been back to dealer twice with same problem. speeds up when braking at about 35 mph. then when accelerating engine dies and vehicle slows down....then speeds up. 1st time they downloaded an update... 2nd time they said nothing wrong that they could find. (according to diagnostic codes) i like my car.. let me know when they finally get a fix for this. this is on rural country roads mountainous and hilly. itbis dangerous.

While driving the drive shaft came out causing the entire wheel to disconnect and subsequently causing the frame to collapse onto the tire of the front passenger side of the vehicle. i had this car for 2 weeks and had it towed to the dealership (tate dodge) where i purchased it and it is still there since the incident on august 1st because i will not drive it as i do not feel safe in it.
