On multiple occasions, random times of day, i would attempt to start my car (or sometimes already be driving) but the engine light and parking light would turn on with a message reading "service transmission, service parking brake" and i can not get the car out of park. this happened at times when i was parked in my driveway, when i was at a complete stop at a red light and has even left me stranded in vacant parking lots. i took the car in for service and was told it was a software upgrade. i left my car, had the upgrade and the problem still occurs. i was told that the only option left is to replace the transmission. during all of my conversations and visits to the dealer, i surprised that no one has mentioned once to me that this car was recalled for electrical issues. i found that out myself when i was doing some research on the issue. this is a huge safety concern. i was left stranded in a parking lot overnight until i could find a ride to get me home, i've stalled out in the middle of the highway when i was stopped for traffic, and i've lost count of the amount of work days i've been out because was car has not been reliable enough to start when i need it to. the car is less than 1.5 years old. i shouldn't be dealing with these issues. *tr

Transmission shifting hard and from time to time seems like it takes longer to engage into drive from park mode. the car has been at the dealer for some type of transmission issues since it was bought new. we are currently waiting for a response on safety recall s55 / nhtsa 16v-529 received in early september 2016. i called fca and received a case number 9/12/2016 2:32 pm case number 30101893 but have yet to hear anything back. i have contacted the dealship several times and have yet to receive a call back. my concern is the car has been labeled unsafe by the recall and i haven't revived and feed back from the dealership or fca.

This issue relates to the "s55" recall dealing with crimps in the wire harness of the car. as i was driving my car suddenly lost motive power causing me to roll to a sudden stop in the middle of the road. the dashboard told me to enable the emergency brake to prevent rolling. after enabling the e-brake and shifting into park i attempted to shift out of park and was unable to. turning the car off and on did not resolve this issue. i needed to call for a tow truck and had the car towed to the nearest chrysler dealership. after three days of my car sitting at the dealership and calling every day i finally got told that this recall issue has no solution at this time. and even better the service manager told me they ordered a new wire harness for the car, but this new wire harness is also affected by this recall defect. this is my only means of transportation and now i will get the car back after nearly a week and it is not even safe to drive. if this problem had occurred on the highway i could have died! on top of all of this after calling the chrysler help line printed on the recall notice (which i received the same day that this problem happened to me) they told me that chrysler will not provide me with any sort of a rental or loaner vehicle. so if i do not want to drive around in a car that could potentially get me killed i must pay out of pocket for a rental vehicle for an unknown amount of time as chrysler has no idea when a permanent solution for this issue will be available.

Ive had trouble with this vehicle since i took possession 6/30/2014! issues has been: brakes(2x), uconnect (numerous times taken in for service and still has the same problem), aux- (numerous times taken in for service and still has the same problem, driver chair lever, vehicle shut down with flashing dash and gear lights while driving causing near death accidents (numerous times), radio shut down, vehicle came to a complete shut down and i had to have it towed, vehicle wouldn't start and i had it towed, vehicle accelerates on its own after the brake is released (take in numerous times and still had this problem, this ongoing issue has caused me to get into an accident and now chrysler has denied my claim for them to fix my vehicle due to there negligent. i take the vehicle in for service for these ongoing issues and i get the vehicle back stating that there is nothing wrong but i have the same problems overtime!! i have video and pictures.

When the 9-speed automatic transmission downshifts from 5th gear to 4th gear, the car experiences a a brief acceleration as engine speed momentarily increases. this period of acceleration occurs at the downshift whether the car is coasting or the brakes are being applied. this presents a hazardous situation as if the brakes are being lightly being applied, the car could lurch forward into a car in front. or result in a possible loss of control if the street is icy or oddurs during a turn. i have had two transmission software updates which have not addressed the problem.

Purchases car on aug 4, 2015 since day i purchased car it has had a hesitation when shifting into drive at initial start. you start car and turn dial to drive but if u immediately try to take off the engine will just rev as if your in neutral it takes about 15-30 seconds once you turn the dial before car is in gear. after about maybe 10,000 miles i noticed car would sometimes jerk as if it had been stuck in a gear maybe this has randomly happened several times around 60+ mph brakes hard and difficult to push down had to stand on them and still barely stopped. shut car off and restarted 20 min later and they were fine. service awd light came on at about 60,000 miles after purchase and install of brand new tires. went off and came back on about a week later and car began making a high pitced winding sound (sort of like an open faced fishing reel when you cast or reel it in) then all the sudden heard a big clunk when sit ring at stop sign it was loud and jogged the car to the point i though maybe a deer ran into the side of the car. i took off but immediately pulled overy and walked around the end car to check and didn't see anything. noticed when i took off the winding had quit. but the next day it began again took car to dealership because the winding noise had gotten so loud they told me they couldn't check it while doing oil change had to be scheduled. i raised hell until someone came out from service when oil change was done and went for a ride with me. noise was completely gone serv awd light still on tho scheduled appointment to have light turned off for 4 days later. drove 30 miles when i left dealership and it began again stopped to drop kid off and was headed back to dealership but when i restarted car noise gone and awd light was off. noise comes and goes over next 2,000 mi now awd light back on and car is horrible in snow without awd.

After driving for a few weeks, i noticed that the transmission will hard shift into 5th gear at times. it also will skip 2nd gear when slowing down to a stop and the vehicle with shutter when skipping that gear going from 3 straight to 1. there is also some hesitation when you have to get on the gas from that gear skip. there needs to be an update or a transmission fix of some kind to fix this.

Bought the car july 2015 and by oct 2015 the car occasionally would downshift while in motion. took the car back to the dealer and was told there was a recall and within a couple of weeks and the recall was aconplished and the computer was updated. within a month the car was back to downshifting at odd times while i was driving. the car has repeatly been in 3 different chrysler repair shops and it has always gone back to downshifting while you are driving at odd times. i did get it while it was downshifted on my phone recently so i have a video. since the video the engineers at chrysler had the dealer change a modular in the computer and the dealer put 200 miles on the car and assured me it was fixed. the same day i picked the car up it downshifted while i was driving again. i called the dealer and they made an appointment for me to bring it back in. i just picked my car up from the dealer this morning and was told the engineers told them only to drive my car. since it didn't do it in the 331 miles that they drove it they were told to give me my car back as repaired. i took the car down the road and had to take it right back because now my phone can't connect with the car and my radio isn't working too. they say it s the radio so they have ordered a new one. i'm in sales and my car has 29,000 miles and i lose the warranty on the computer ar 35,000 miles. a couple of months ago i contacted chrylser and was given a case worker and case number, and was told by the case worker that chrysler is aware of the problem with the 200s. the rental car agency says there are a lot of rentals by dealers trying to repair this problem with the 200s. i would send you the video but with it being on the phone i'm not sure how.

Transmission has numerous problems. hard shifting, hesitations, and lunging forward are some examples of the problems with the transmission. my car has been to an authorized chrysler dealership several times for transmission repairs and they will not fix the problem. i've been told by the dealership that chrysler is aware of the issue but they won't do anything about it because the transmission was designed that way according to the dealership. there have been several times when coming to a stop that the car will downshift abruptly, causing my car to lunge forward, i've almost hit cars stopped in front of me when this happens. i do have service records from each time my car has been in the shop, which started in august of 2016.

Car lost all power to the wheels under full throttle going up a hill. the dash board light for a tempurator sender came on for the transmission and the car was locked out putting it into park. the car only went into the "s" position of the transmission but still had no power to the wheels. the car was locked out of turning to a any gear. i had to shut the engine off and restart several time until the transmission was free. finally a check engine light came on and i was able to drive to the dealer. this can all be verified by the state police who stopped to help the dealer said it was as if a computer received an error message, the car had to be rebooted!~. thats fine if you're standing still; but not traveling at 60 mph on a highway. it was fortunate that i was in the right lane and could coast to the side of the road! what would happen if i was in traffic and in the left lane and all of a sudden i had no power!

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 chrysler 200. while approaching a stop, the vehicle jerked before halting. in addition, the vehicle jerked before moving in reverse. the vehicle was taken to a dealer, but the contact was unsure about the diagnosis and what was replaced. the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 36,000.

In june 2016 the awd light came on while i was driving on the parkway. a call to the service dept. said it could be a glitch in the computer, turn it off for a while and restart. the awd light continued to light up. i took it in for service the dealer said it was a computer chip problem (ptu module was bad) that took 4 days two fix.two weeks later on 7/18/16 after noticing dark spots on my driveway i took the car in, the diagnosis was a leak of transmission fluid in the bell housing causing the transmission in a 2 year old car to be replaced. an hour ago, (7/28/18 9:30p) i was driving 60 miles an hour on the gsp when the battery light suddenly came on and "shift to p" message came on in the dash. the "d" on the gear shift panel started flashing about a min later the vehicle began to lose power. i pulled over and restarted the car. it started up i was barely able to get to the side of the road on a dark highway with lots of traffic. it was a catastrophe in the making! this is the 3rd major issue with this new vehicle.
