To whom it concerns, well first of all i purchase a vehicle from, i don't have the title, so the bank and the dealership got that stuff. next they think they can be rude, lie, and play games, thirdly they said i wrecked when it came off the lot on condition as it was in, but no way. fourthly, they wand to lie and say 2 different store just like the bank does, i've had to put almost a 1000 bucks into the vehicle, and i'm upside down in it, i told the bank this, and the bank said they be contacting the dealership, never happened i asked to take the 1000 bucks off my loan for these services but won't, this why i'm reporting them, next the bank can never decide if they want insurance on the vehicle been harassed by both the dealership and bank, which is first premier bank and frankman motors sioux falls,sd, plus i was suppose to receive a manual for my car never happened, so something needs to be done, if both places of business's want me to be nice, they got to earn it, and do something about this lemon vehicle

2011 ford fusion. consumers writes in regard to vehicle being unable to ungergo safety recall repairs and having many malfunctions. *as the consumer stated engine, fuel system, and steering all malfunctioned and the dealer refused to repair the vehicle. *js

My vehicle was moving in a parking lot when the engine suddenly began to misfire and stalled. the ford dealership told me the engine suffered a catastrophic failure. this happened without warning. all maintenance was preformed on time or ahead of schedule. this catastrophic failure happened with less than 100,000 miles. ford would not cover this under warranty. from what research i have found this is a common problem with fords 3.5 liter cyclone engines. the water pump failes resulting in catastrophic engine failure. if this problem would occur at highway speeds no power steering or brakes would be operable, possibly resulting in accidents. this is an unacceptable situation!, not to mention a costly repair bill. thank you for your consideration on this matter

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford fusion. while driving, the vehicle failed to accelerate over 20 mph without warning. the vehicle was unable to accelerate after restarting the vehcicle. there were three warning indicators illuminated at the time of the failure. the vehicle was towed to germain ford of beavercreek (2356 heller dr, beavercreek, oh 45434 (937) 429-1300), but was not diagnosed or repaired because it was under inspection. the manufacturer was contacted, but could not offer assistance because the vehicle was not under warranty. the failure mileage was 109,000.

Car just stops while driving. happened 5 times in the last 5 months. most recent incident was 10/04/2017. thought that this problem was related to my power steering assembly that was replaced last week, but apparently this is a different problem altogether. driving 50 mph on a single lane road and car just stops. turned key to off, restarted, drove about 2 miles, stopped at a stop sign, and car lost power. again turned key to off, turned back on and car was driveable. happened twice in may, same scenario, driving about 45-50 mph, car just stopped, drove about 1 mi., stopped at a traffic light and car just shut off. in early september, happened on deceleration approaching a stop light.

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford fusion. while driving various speeds, the transmission and check engine warning indicators illuminated. the contact stated that the vehicle lost power and stalled intermittently on more than one occasion. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the following error code appeared: throttle body assembly error code (p2119). town and country ford in charlotte, north carolina was made aware of the failure and stated that they were unaware of any recalls regarding the failure. the manufacturer was made aware of the issue and stated that the vehicle did not qualify for the extended mileage warranty coverage. the failure mileage was approximately 154,000.

This issue corresponds to nhtsa action number: pe13003, electronic throttle body malfunction. i just took my fusion in to have the part replaced again. the first time it happened was at 50k miles, the second time it happened was at 100k miles, and i can guess when it's going to happen again. they also just replaced the part. i asked them about the software update that's listed in nhtsa remedy write up, but they told me there is no software update in their system. merely replacing one defective part with an identical defective part is not the solution, it just kicks the problem down the road.

2011 ford fusion se had a transmission problem while it was still under warranty (nov. 2013). our vehicle recently had trouble accelerating and shifting between gears. we took our car to a mechanic and he informed us that 3 gears in the transmission broke and we need a new transmission. this car only has 55k miles on it and this is the second transmission problem we've had!! the mechanic said he's never seen a transmission go this early, but reading reviews online of 2011 ford fusions, it seems like this is more common than we'd like to think.

On-going issue with fuel fill inlet. inlet door does not close and seal properly which causes my engine light to come on and stay on. gas-capless system

1. takata recall- air bag: air bag sensor or light goes blinking for 30 mins or more than it switches to the panel light and stays there lit up.. 2. steering column-stiff and grinding noise: when it drives backward reverse it makes that noise and when on the road it begins to make loud noise, then the steering gets hard to steer. 3. ac coolant does not blow cold air: does not get cold and blows out warm air only.

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford fusion. while driving 60 mph, the check engine warning indicator illuminated and the vehicle decelerated independently. the contact stated that the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to respond. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 99,000. the vin was not available.

Csp 13n03 as previously reported etb problems caused my car to abruptly drop power/rpm to ~1000rpm. later identified issue to be related to etb and took to my ford dealer expecting new software and/or etb replacement per 13n03. dealer replaced but then begged off requesting i pay warranty repair cost of $122 because "manual transmission" vehicles and those not assembled in mexico were not covered. i am absolutely certain that my issue was exactly that covered by 13n03 and feel that having the power loss "limp mode" occur in a manual transmission vehicle actually put me at more risk because of the greater speed loss due to the direct connected drive path. luckily it was late at night on a less traveled road allowing me to coast off safely onto the shoulder. i paid the $122 since they had already done the work before realizing that my car was not covered, and the throttle body alone would have cost me $75+, but i cannot understand how this is not a full-fledged recall and doesn't cover every vehicle with this type of etb? all this because of what sounds like incorrect/insufficient motor connection plating and/or bulb grease (contact enhancer)

Lost power after momentary stumble while mildly accelerating on straight level city road around 35mph. damp cool evening after much rain preceding days. occurred about 2 miles after starting from cool engine (2-3 hours @ 60f) thought it had stalled but noted ~1000rpm, but not responding to throttle pedal at all? clutched-in (6-speed manual) and coasted to stop, idle holding, but never responding to pedal? noted wrench symbol glowing on dash. wished i had my obd-ii monitor in the car! turned car off, removed key, opened door (to kill accessory power). closed door, counted to 20 and restarted. it started a bit hard and stumbled a little initially, but the wrench was gone and i had a working throttle again. it seemed like it may have minimally stumbled a bit on the 2-3 miles home as well, although i was driving it very gently, and possibly overly aware. traveled lightly used roads in case it acted up again. once home i went in, grabbed my obd-ii test device and hooked it up. no codes? no mil codes, no pending codes, no permanent codes? went in and began web search and found ford etb and csp=13n03 investigation and mitigation agreement. wrote this, and will discuss with dealer tomorrow.

I was pulling up slowly behind two cars at a red light when my engine accelerated with my foot firmly on the brake. my car began to inch forward toward the car in front of me. i put the car in neutral and the acceleration continued. i put the car in park and once again the acceleration continued. i then turned the key off and the engine shut down with my car ending up a foot away from a car with a woman and two children in it. i went online and found other cases of this happening to other people with 2011 ford fusions. i took the car to my dealer and they said they could not find anything wrong. this is the second time this has happened to me with this car. i was on a busy four lane highway both times.

While driving at 60 miles per hour my vehicle decelerate in rush hour traffic, miles away from home. i was able to put my emergency flashers on and move over to the shoulder before my car completely lost power. i had a tool light come on the dash and the car was still on but no power. i turn the engine completely off for about t 1 minute and then restart my car. i was able to safely make it home. on my grandchildren first day of school, while picking up at 1 of 3 schools on the way to the second school my car decelerated just before a train track during rush hour once again. this time my engine light came on the dash. following the same technique i restarted my car, made it across the track only for it to quit again. my grand baby was worried and needless to say so was i.. using the same technique we were able to make it safely home. requiring another vehicle to go pick up at the other two school late.... please tell me i shouldn't be afraid to drive my car because right now i am i attempted to perform a vehicle health check but it want allow me too. please say there is a solution to this ongoing problem surely ford is aware of this problem and there's a recall and i'm unaware right

I was driving on a 25 mile per hour street, the wrench light suddenly came on the dashboard and the car seemed to lose all power. it barely crept along. if i applied the gas pedal, there was no response.

I was driving on the highway when my ford fusion lost all power, like it ran out of gas. of course this happened when i was passing 2 semis with cars in front of me and behind me. luckily i was able to get off the side of the highway. it just sat there idling very badly, i turned it off, turned it back on and i was able to drive it home after that. after doing some research online, this seems to be a common problem that should be recalled because it could definitely cause a pretty bad accident.

While driving whenever i stopped or slowed to turn the engine would start to not pull as if not getting gas, the care would start shaking. happens whenever slowing then turning or pulling off from a stopped position

While driving on the highway to work on january 29, 2016 i turned on my wipers to clean the windshield after i turned the wipers off they stopped in the middle of the windshield, effecting my vision while driving. once off, they will intermittently turn themselves on and off for a period sometimes stopping in the field of vision.

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford fusion. the contact stated that the fuel cap leak and the check engine warning indicators illuminated. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the canister purge valve solenoid needed to be replaced. the vehicle was taken to the dealer for a second opinion and it was confirmed that the canister purge valve solenoid needed replacement. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 15v793000 (fuel system, gasoline). the failure mileage was approximately 78,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford fusion. while driving at 10 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. the vehicle was able to start after multiple attempts. in addition, the contact mentioned that the maintenance warning light illuminated. the failure recurred intermittently. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the vin was unknown. the approximate failure mileage was 28,000.

'3 may 2013 (mileage 32,800) moab, utah. driving in the mountains around moab for my daughters wedding. one passenger in the car beside myself. while driving around a sharp curve, all the electronics in the car went dead. the engine shut down, all lights on the dash, the radio, ac all stopped working. power steering, power brakes were non-functioning. this happened a total of five times. '26 august 2015 (mileage approximately 55,600) time: 6:00pm. driving home from work. i'd stopped at a street light and when i pulled sharply out onto main road, the car went dark again and all electrical systems shut down. i quickly restarted it by shifting into neutral and starting it with the key. three blocks later, it happened again. this was the first time it had happened on a straightaway. i was driving by myself. '6 september 2015 (mileage approximately 55,950 between san juan capistrano and lake elsinore, ca. coming out of a sharp curve in the road while going uphill all electrical components of the car shut off. i shifted into neutral, turned the key, and the engine started up again. '19 november 2015 (mileage approximately 56,751) went over a speed bump with another passenger in the car. the ford fusion shut down again, and after i restarted it, two hundred yards later did it again. 'ford has tried to locate the problem three times. finally replaced throttle body on 22 sept. and said that fixed problem. it didn't! ford corporation customer service now refuses to return my last five calls

Engine ticking sound reported to ford dealer after my mechanic found it was inside engine. dealer found engine block crack and replaced engine - invoice #315874 - al packer's white marsh ford, 9801 pulaski hwy. baltimore, md 21220. dated 11/12/15 engine 2.5 liter there are other reports of this problem posted on the internet relating to the same ford engines.

Driving on fwy car display a wrench and you can't accelerate all you can do is coast to the shoulder of the road or hold up traffic.this has happened 10 times in one month my next problem is the dash display check fuel fill inlet and then the engine light comes on. the first time it happened was two weeks after i bought the car so they told me what shop to take it to because we had a 30 day warranty so i did they told me that it was a common problem on cars that don't have gas caps. it happened again, took it back to the same shop and he gave advise on how to fill your gas tank . it happened again took it back to the same shop this time he said that he replaced the whole fuel inlet thing. well it happened again this time he told me to hit the reset button on the steering wheel i did and it went off but it kept on coming back on when i get back in the car and starting it. after a couple of days of doing that i took it back to the same shop he said that he would have to charge me to see what the problem is and i said it says check fuel fill inlet i should'nt have to pay so he said that he would charge the dealer he cleaned the part where the gas goes in he said and every thing is alright.well after about a week it happened again this time the engine light came on too and when you reset the check fuel fill comes right back on. i took it back to the same shop and this time i had to pay and i don't see why because its the same problem over and over again and it is not fixed i paid 50.00$ and it still has check fuel fill inlet and engine light still on. the car is at the ford dealer right now because i had 3 recalls on the vehicle but nothing about the fuel fill inlet, ford said that they can check out why the fuel inlet is on but i have to pay 120.00$ i don't have the money i feel that it should be fixed free because it was under warranty and was never really fixed.

The above car displayed a trouble light. a mechanic used an odb ii scanner and diagnosed the engine problem with the code "p2119" i did some research on line and found out that this is a common problem involving the throttle body. is this a recall item?

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford fusion. while driving approximately 70 mph, the vehicle stalled and the service vehicle soon warning light illuminated. the vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 89,000.

My car has had a few recalls. i brought it to watertown ford and they did not fix it properly. i bought it at enterprise car sales, woburn ma. they were supposed to check it and it was not certified like they promised. from the first month the car had issues. it keeps showing the wrench and not accelerating properly. i can't afford to keep fixing it. i would like ford to buy back the car. for more than 11,000.00.

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford fusion. while driving at approximately 50 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. the vehicle restarted; however, the failure recurred after the wrench and check engine warning lights illuminated. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the vehicle needed a tune up. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 59,525.

Car has extreme, loud, embarrassing belt area noise. in checking with two local ford service departments i am told this happens all the time and is common. it's about a $700.00 repair. ford should take care of this problem for those affected which i am told are most that have been so unfortunate to have purchased a fusion of the year 2011. this is ongoing from 0 to 70 mph.

Ford fusion 2011 engine surged and dropped speed and resulting in me nearly being rear ended by vehicle behind me. engine felt as if the transmission hesitated in between shifting gears.

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford fusion. while driving at approximately 30 mph, the engine stalled and the check engine and maintenance warning indicators illuminated. the failure recurred twice. the vehicle was taken to a dealer, where it was diagnosed that the electronic throttle body failed and needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 37,888.

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford fusion. the contact stated that there was a failure in which the vehicle experienced intermittent stalling. the vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to replicate and diagnose the failure, although they had been notified several times. the vehicle continued to stall and the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who replaced the throttle body, but the contact was uncertain if the oem part would fail again. the manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided no recommendation nor a solution. there was no clarification if there was a newly designed part or the same part that had previously failed. the vin and failure mileage were not available.

Recall for to calibrate pcm to correct throttle problem ineffective. i continue to have a problem with the symptoms, (dramatic loss of speed while driving) but now the actual wrench symbol doesn't appear on my dash anymore. so when i show up at ford they say, "oh, we need to see an actual code to correct the problem." so what did the calibration do? eliminate the coding? now my car is jerky and has half the gas mileage after the calibration. the problem still exists but the option to get the throttle replaced is next to none. in the meantime, it is wearing on other parts and likely causing other problems.

I purchased my 2011 ford fusion used with 60k miles on it some months back. i noticed a few times when i'm driving a distance of 45 minutes or more a wrench light will seldomly come on and nothing happens it just stays on. then there has been a few times where the wrench light comes on have lost power while driving 65-70mph and my car shakes and it slams back into gear like as if i reved up my engine and dropped it into drive. note, this only seems to happen when i drive on the freeway for a long period of time. this happend again today on 10/5/2014 but this time i was about a half mile away from my exit off the freeway and my car filled the freeway with smoke coming from underneath my car and i noticed flames coming from the front engine compartment. *tr

Driving up the highway at about 65mph then the car begins to start losing power and speed, i have to pull over all the way to the right in the emergency lane. the yellow wrench light is on and i shut off the car then start it again, i'm able to make it home about 10 miles from home. if i didn't react quick enough this could have caused a major accident on the freeway. *tr

My daughter was driving a 2011 ford fusion the state police said she fell asleep because she worked overnight . yes she works overnight and has been doing it for 6 months . she was on her regular schedule. after dropping her boyfriend off work she was heading to my house on a real popular deer road . i believe she was swerving off the road to try an avoid the deer and lost her steering and hit a tree . i know my daughter she wouldn't have fell asleep. i hope to god this could be proven one day .the engine tires everything on front end was inside the car . i have pieces of the car that was left there her credit card birth certificate was just laying on the ground . i have pictures of the car showing the engine and tire in the car. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford fusion. the contact stated that while driving at 20 mph, the engine stalled without warning. the contact was able to restart the vehicle. the problem recurred several times. the vehicle was taken to a dealer. the technician was unable to diagnose the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 56,000.

I was on my way to the ford dealership for work to be done on my vehicle. once i got in the parking lot i was driving about 20 mph, my car just shut off by it self. i had told the manager that i need to get my car checked out because it just shut off while i were still driving. they said they did a diagnosis check and couldn't find anything and that everything is okay. this concerns me because what if i'm driving in traffic and it shuts off again. this could be very dangerous. please help!!!! *tr

The first time an alarm that sounded like music began playing. it played for awhile and then the car turned off. i was able to stop the car safely. i restarted it and it would not start. i tried again after a few minutes and the car appeared to work normally. the second time i was on the freeway in the fast lane going 65 mph. i heard the music/alarm playing again, so i began working my way to the side. before i got to the side of the road, the car locked down my steering wheel. a warning light came on, that said something like "service advancetrac". once i got it restarted, it drove normally again. later that day, i was unable to back out of a parking space because the steering was not working. i took it to the dealer. the dealer stated that the entire power steering system has to be replaced for 2100 dollars. they told me they were not going to address the issue that the car turned off two days earlier because the steering was the current problem. i contacted the ford company and they opened a case on my car. i do not know the outcome of this situation yet. after reading several accounts on the internet, i want to be sure to report this safety problem as it could have been very dangerous. *tr

Had cruise set at 55mph and lost all power. the wrench light came up on the dash and could not accelerate. had to pull over to the side of the busy highway. restarted the car and it seemed normal. the car has done this multiple more times since the incident yesterday. it is now doing it every time we drive. it is extremely dangerous to lose power in your car on a busy highway! this problem needs addressed. from what i read online there are many people that have/had the same problem! *tr

Driving at 35-40 mph, approaching a hill to go up, engine stopped. electrical was fine; power steering continued to work, but engine would not work. wrench light came on dashboard. coasted to nearby street, pulled to side, and stopped. turned off car but kept key in ignition. tried to start car but car made unusual noise, so i turned it off. (not clicking noise like bad alternator makes; it was a noise i'd never heard before.) pulled key out of ignition, waited a few seconds, put key in again, and car started as normal. drove the rest of the way home as normal (only one mile). have not tried to drive anywhere again for the day. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford fusion. the contact stated that while driving at an unknown speed, the vehicle decelerated without warning and the wrench warning light illuminated. the vehicle was taken to the dealer. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 53,000. the vin number was not available.

After stopping at a stop sign, when i pushed the accelerator, the vehicle jerked and would not accelerate past the idle drive speed; a wrench light displayed on the dash; i slowly maneuvered into a parking lot. after restarting the vehicle, i managed to get home and drive the car for several days without issue. a quick internet search led me to suspect the throttle body. on about july 29th, the same thing happened. i pulled to the side of the parking lot that i was in and restarted the vehicle. on the morning of july 31st, as i put it in park at my place of employment, the vehicle stalled (the engine stopped and rpm display showed 0) and the battery light and oil lamp light displayed. the vehicle started right back up. upon leaving my place of employment, the vehicle stalled four additional times within the 9 miles between work and the nearest auto parts store. the employee stated that the affected part was the "throttle body" just as i had found before. *tr

On june 27, 2014 i took my car to a dealership for a recall to reprogram it. on july 14, 2014, my car just stopped running while i was driving. after several attempts, it did restart after i turned off the air conditioner and radio. the next day i brought it into the dealership once again. the service person told me the same thing happened to several other customers after the initial recall and that now the throttle body needed to be replaced. when i asked why that wasn't replaced when it was reprogrammed, he said ford told them to wait until the second problem occurred before replacing it. my concern is safety. had my car stopped running on a busy highway going a higher speed limit, i might have been killed. i called ford customer service and was given a case number and told this would be "looked into." how many might die before this recall will be done properly? *tr

Was stopped at a light and when started to take off car cut off and jerked forward. the "wrench" symbol appeared. tried to start car and it shook as starting. was able to get started and light (wrench symbol) went off. i only have @24000 miles on my vehicle and it is well-maintained. from what i have read, this seems to be a widespread problem with this model year fusion. i was lucky that i was not rear-ended or crossing a busy intersection when this failure occurred. this is extremely dangerous and could be fatal. ford should issue a recall immediately and not after someone gets killed due to this failure. *tr
