While taking a one lane exit on the freeway going at 30 miles per hour a wrench light came on and my car completely loss power. the car coasted until it came to a complete stop. this was very dangerous! i could have died. you guys really need to get all of there ford fusions off of the road. i could not accelerate or brake to slow on the freeway. i waited 5 minutes and the car turned on with no problem. my mechanic could not replicate the problem so he said there was no problem. while looking online this is a throttle body issue. which needs to be recalled immediately. i can't work if i can't get there with a car that i've purchased!!! i refuse to drive this car!
The wrench light came up on my car. it says it's the throttle control transmission. the car gave no sign or warning about this car throttle. the code coming up is p2111. i believe there was a investigation going on with my situation a few years ago. is this a recall or something that can be fixed because of a recall?
While driving, at posted speed, 40mph ....all at once, there was a complete loss of acceleration, a very rough idle to the engine and a wrench icon showed on the dash. i had to quickly pull off to the side of the road. i was able to turn the vehicle off and then when i started the vehicle again the problem seemed to reset and the wrench icon disappeared. i took the vehicle to local mechanic and their computer tools were not able to find anything wrong (codes with a diagnostic check). car seemed to run fine for approximately the next 500 miles and then, while driving on a busier road at 65 mph, the vehicle did the exact same thing, again causing me to need to avoid an accident and pull to the side of the road. i, once again, was able to reset the system by turning the vehicle off and back on. i am very concerned about the safety of this issue and feel that i am now limited only to local travel.

The power steering in my 2011 ford fusion has been going out periodically. when this happens, i have to wait for the opportunity to make a wide turn because it's very difficult to turn the wheel. there's been several occasions when i caused traffic jams or almost got rear ended since the car behind me didn't expect me to take so long to turn. a lot of times the power steering goes out when i'm stopped at a red light. i can still drive the car to my destination locally using the streets but i fear that it will go out one day while i'm driving on the freeway. luckily it's usually only me in the car when it happens but i'm afraid that it might also happen when my kids are in the car. it's also frustrating because only i can drive the car because when it happened once when my wife drove it, she panicked and wasn't strong enough to turn the wheel. this time, she did have one of my children in the car. i had to go meet her and drive it home. i've been researching this issue and ...

My car was stopped at a stoplight with a vehicle in front of me. i shifted into neutral as i needed to take my foot off the brake. the car was on level ground so it would not roll forward or backward. i put my foot on the brake and shifted back into drive. the car accelerated without warning. i jammed on the brakes, but the engine was racing and i couldn't stop my car from hitting the vehicle in front of me. i happened to glance at the tachometer during the incident and saw the needle dropping below 4,000 rpm. the engine returned to normal rpms after the collision. no one was injured and the damage to both vehicles was minor. both vehicles were able to leave the scene under their own power.
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford fusion. while driving, the vehicle failed to accelerate over 20 mph without warning. the vehicle was unable to accelerate after restarting the vehcicle. there were three warning indicators illuminated at the time of the failure. the vehicle was towed to germain ford of beavercreek (2356 heller dr, beavercreek, oh 45434 (937) 429-1300), but was not diagnosed or repaired because it was under inspection. the manufacturer was contacted, but could not offer assistance because the vehicle was not under warranty. the failure mileage was 109,000.
Vehicle failed to accelerate. dealership indicated that this vehicle vin was outside the extended warranty for trottle body replacement. car was experiencing exact symptons of trottle body issue. during acceleration the vehicle would stall and failed to restart for a few minutes. the issue is extremely intermittent.
When traveling on a highway the car shifts hard and will not accelerate. dealer would not replace throddle body when asked to. there is a recall on this. i also suggested a software update. i was told i need a new transmission. the car has been sitting since last year. i purchased a new car.

In the last 24 hours my vehicle stalled on the freeway (i was almost rear-ended--this highway has a curb on both sides instead of shoulders) 4 times in 5 miles. the first time was as i was turning onto the highway from an intersection. each time, i was unable to accelerate the car with the gas pedal. each time, this was preceded by a lurching forward and a sluggish performance of the engine for about 1 second before the engine no longer powers the wheels. the wrench light comes on and i have to turn the car off and then turn it back on in order to be able to accelerate again. as i said, when i would accelerate, the engine would die, and this happened four times. when i restart the car, but before it dies again, the check engine light comes on. this is an issue with other 2011 ford fusions that the nhtsa has already investigated--the throttle body is defective. however, somehow the nhtsa let ford off the hook and didn't recall the part and allowed ford to only apply the "customer satisfaction program 13n03" to cars with automatic ...
