Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. while attempting to park traveling 2 mph, the contact stated that the vehicle suddenly accelerated without warning, causing her to crash into a concrete barrier. she was able to apply pressure to the brakes and shift into park to bring the vehicle to a stop. the dealer or manufacturer had not been notified nor was the vehicle repaired. the current and failure mileages were 12,815. a police report was not filed.

While already in motion on the highway the car begins to decrease it's speed, vibrate and then stall out. the problem is intermittent. corrective action taken at times of event is to pull out of traffic as best as possible. turn off the ignition, put the car in park then after approx two minutes, restart the vehicle and continue driving. *tr

Traveling at high speed with cruise control on. applied brake to slow down for traffic, vehicle continued to slow and would not respond when i applied the accelerator. i had to put the transmission in neutral and had to push gas pedal several times hard before engine would respond. this happened twice while traveling from florida to canada. i had the ford dealership in wetaskiwin, alberta, canada check the vehicle, they could find nothing wrong. i continue to drive the car, but i am fearful that, if it happens again, i could be rear-ended. *tr

I have a 2010 ford fusion with 13k miles on it, that has been providing me with tremendous amount of heartache. the vehicle will automatically slip into random gears while driving, even to the extent of shifting from 6 gear all the way down to 1st. i was driving down i-17 in arizona doing the speed limit of 75mph when for the second time it slipped all the way in to 1st gear. both times this occurred it nearly caused an accident because my speed decreased so suddenly i was almost rear end at 75mph. i am actually fearful for my wife, who primarily drives it, and my son safely. i have brought the vehicle in before and they can't find anything wrong with it, but yet there are numerous customers with the same complaint. a simple online search will reveal that. ford is aware of this problem, but individual dealers are only treating the symptoms and not actually fixing the problem. this has to be corrected before someone dies. *tr

No crashes or injuries yet! i drive a 2006 ford fusion>>> well driving down the highway while on cruise control the cruise control totally stops and it the speed when from 70 down to i don't know what right away.. the reason i don't know is because the odometer error came up causing the speedometer to stop working. and to add to the confusion... the starter stopped working... all this happened on the day my dad died leaving me without a car to see my family which live 200 miles away... *tr

While traveling in my new ford fusion approximately between 55 - 60 mph on the expressway, without any warning my car speed dropped instantly from 55-60 mph down to 5 mph, at the same time the wrench on the dashboard illuminated. unable to accelerate i immediately hit my hazards barely making it across two lanes to the shoulder and to safety, i turned the car off, and then back on, all seem well. thank god, the traffic was not heavy. i took the car to ford, after only one day in the shop i was informed, that they were unable to duplicate the problem and that it was hooked to and tested with the diagnostics machine. i was told that maybe it was just a glitch, or fluke, reluctant, i accepted my car back. but, needless to say exactly one week later it happened again, this time i was on the entrance ramp to a very crowded expressway, traveling approximately 30 mph, speed suddenly dropped to less than 5 mph, acceleration was not possible wrench light illuminated. next morning back in fords shop. after having my car for eight days and 40+ miles added to my ford fusion i was informed that the problem could not be duplicated. i contacted ford customer service and voiced my concern, one day later i was informed my car was ready and that the problem was identified, and the throttle had to be replaced. *tr

On a highway i started from a stop and my 2010 ford fusion moved forward and then dropped into idle with no response to the accelerator and i was forced to pull drift off the highway into the nearest parking lot. i called the dealer and moved slowly to the dealer for an assessed faulty original electronic throttle assembly requiring replacement for $629.00 with a backlog of 9000 of those parts in the ford supply system. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. the contact stated that while driving 65 mph with the cruise control engaged down hill it would not adjust the speed; yet, the rpms increased to 4000 while the engine made a high pitch screaming noise. the vehicle was taken to the dealer to have the software repaired; however, it would not solve the problem. the manufacturer was contacted and stated that it must be a characteristic of the vehicle and they don't know how to repair the failure. the failure and current mileages were 13,000. updated 10/21/10. *lj the consumer stated instead of slowing the engine down to maintain speed when going down a steep grade, it revs really high. a service technician stated there was definitely something wrong, but there was no fix for it. updated 10/26/10

Tl*the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. while stopped with her foot on the brake, the contact stated that the vehicle attempted to surge forward. the contact applied heavy pressure to the brake to keep the vehicle from moving while it attempted to surge forward three times. once the engine stopped revving, the contact attempted to accelerate but the vehicle would only move very slowly. the service engine light illuminated on the instrument panel so the contact pulled over and shut off the vehicle. upon restart the vehicle operated as normal and was towed to an authorized dealership where the contact was told there was nothing wrong with the vehicle. the failure and current mileages were approximately 1,100.

Since the vehicle was new the transmission slips or jumps into gear. the engine also hesitates when the gas pedal is pushed and then starts to go. visits to three ford dealerships over the years and calls to ford have been useless. ford dealers will charge for reprogramming of computer which does not fix the problem, there is what ford calls a recall but they will only fix the problem if the dash light comes on because their oil change people can't tell if there is a problem unless the light comes on. ford has given me numerous "work tickets" but they are unwilling to fix the vehicle or don't know how. i know this is a common problem with ford vehicles after sitting in dealership waiting rooms with others who have the same issues. if you own a ford be careful when merging onto a highway because your vehicle may not go when you want it to. *tr

I was driving a ford fusion that i had rented from hertz in minot, north dakota. i was pulling out of the parking space and luckily had my foot on the brake when the car suddenly accelerated. i had to push down very hard on the brake pedal to keep the car under control. i immediately put the car in "park" and the acceleration slowed down. i drove the car that day but reported the incident to hertz and urged them to get the car checked. the ford fusion had less than 3000 miles on the odometer so i assume that it was a 2010 model. *tr

Several weeks before the incident, i removed the driver's side all-weather floor mat (the factory-developed optional one) from our 2010 ford fusion hybrid and tossed it in the trunk. in the days leading up to this incident, the car had been to the body shop and the car wash. as near as i can tell an attendant at one of those places must have discovered the mat in the trunk and "helpfully" reinstalled it. but i didn't notice this right away. when commuting to work on april 16th, i pressed the accelerator to the floor as i moved into a much faster traffic lane. upon completion of this maneuver i eased up on the gas, but the pedal stayed down and the car kept accelerating, unintentionally at this point. at first i wasn't sure what was going on, but after about 3 or 4 seconds i heard a "click", the pedal returned to normal and the car slowed. it was then that i thought of the all-weather floor mat, and when traffic cleared i tried another experimental full-throttle dab to see if i was correct. it happened again (but i was ready for it), with the pedal releasing on its own after a few seconds, just like before. at this point i was careful not to disturb the mat's position so i could take video of the problem once i arrived at work. once in the garage, and with the engine off, i was able to replicate the floor mat-throttle interference on-camera. as before, the pedal stayed stuck for about 3 seconds after i pressed it to the floor. i was able to repeat this several times. but in one trial the stuck throttle persisted for over 30 seconds, with the pedal staying stuck despite vigorous stamping in an effort to free it. the only way it came loose was by lifting my heel which, in the normal driving posture, had apparently been pinning the mat down and making it less flexible. with the heel pressure removed, the mat bent up out of the way and the pedal began a slow return. a you tube video link is available upon request. *tr

I bought a 2010 ford fusion from shaefer ford in cumberland md on 3/17/10. on 4/15/10 i was driving on 220 south from my home in bedford to cumberland. i passed a truck and then tried to slow down and the accelerator would not respond to the brake pressure. for over 1 mile i had brake all the way to the floor and the vehicle was still going at 45 mph. i saw 4-5 cars stopped in front of me so i turned off the car and was able to steer to the shoulder and the truck passed me. i called shaeffer ford and was towed to their lot. i left the car and later that day i was told that the floor pad had hooked onto the accelerator so that it did not decelerate. they said they check everything and that everything was ok and the brakes were not damaged. i drove the car home that afternoon. *tr

This problem has happened multiple times. when i hit the gas after slowing down, the vehicle will not move. i will have to jam down on the gas pedal before it does anything. at that point, the rpm's fly up and the car will finally start moving. it is inevitable that this will cause me to get into a car accident and even possibly killed one day. there have been several times where i have been just shy of getting slammed into by oncoming traffic as i turn in from of them cause my vehicle is not moving. also there have been three instances in which the car will totally stop moving. the car is on, but it will not go. i will hit the gas and nothing happens. i have to shut the car completely off and then back on again in order to get it to move. i have complained to the dealership several times about problems with my vehicle and nothing ever gets done.this is extremely dangerous and i fear for my life cause of this problem that continues to go unheeded by the dealership. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. the contact was driving into a parking space at 1 mph when the vehicle suddenly lunged forward and crashed into a fenced barrier. there were no injuries but a police report was filed. the vehicle was taken to an automotive body shop but no repairs had been performed. the current and failure mileages were 1,741.

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. the contact stated when depressing the accelerator pedal, there was an abnormal increase in engine rpms. the vehicle would sporadically accelerate at a rapid pace. the failure would persist even after the contact would remove her foot from the accelerator pedal. the dealer contacted the manufacturer who advised him not to make any repairs to the vehicle. the manufacturer advised that after sixty days, the vehicle should correct itself. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 1,200 and the current was unknown.

I was pulled into a parking spot in the parking lot of my gym, and the car was close to stopping, or stopped. the car accelerated, and i hit the building. when the crash was over, i looked down and my car's gear was in park. either the car was already in park, and my foot was still on the brake, or my foot was on the break, and as the car accelerated forward, my hand hit the gear, putting it in park. i have pictures demonstrating skid marks (showing the brakes were engaged). the car is a hybrid model. *tr

This morning the gas pedal got stuck on the floor and i couldn't stop the car until a couple miles later. brakes did not stop the car until the gas pedal just came back up from the floor. please look into this before someone gets killed!! *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. the contact stated that while at a complete stop, the vehicle lunged forward. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where the failure could not be replicated. the vehicle was repaired. the vin was not available. the failure and current mileages were 60,000. *tr

My car is accelerating on its own. *tr

2010 ford fusion sel. customer writes in regards to continued transmission problems.*smd the consumer stated the transmission would slip harshly and hesitate on acceleration. the recall repair did not correct the transmission problems. it was determined that the valve body and solenoid body were defective. also, one of the tires was leaking air, there was an issue with the traction and brakes. there were noises coming from the front of the vehicle. the steering wheel would not lock into place, the cd player did not work at times, the driver side visor did not stay in place, the gas over flow tube was inoperative, the vehicle would pull hard when the brake was applied. the rear driver's side door had to be slammed extremely hard, in order to close it. the driver's side seat belt was backwards. the passenger side windshield wiper dragged on the windshield and the vehicle would sometimes surge on its own. each time the consumer went to the dealer about certain problems, she was told no problems were found.

When i first purchased my vehicle i had an incident where when i went to hit the gas the car stalled. at least i thought. brought it to ford on a couple of occasions an were never able to find the problem as they could not re-enact the issue. then time went on it seemed ok. approximately a year ago i was traveling at approx 40-50mph and when i hit the gas pedal it wouldn't drive it just sort of putted but didn't turn off. i was able to get to the shoulder and turn car off restart and went. brought it to my local service station who said they could not find anything as it did not happen when they took for ride. i had it happen again the next day only traveling at approx. 25 mph and called ford. brought it in and again was told they found nothing and that maybe it was a bad tank of gas. the best way i can describe is that it feels almost like the gas isn't getting where it needs to go and the car wont go. this past thursday on my way home from work at traffic hour on a major 5 lane highway i was doing about 55mph and it happened. i was able to get into the right lane put my flashers on. i took a breath as i was worried i was gonna get hit by the on fast moving traffic. i turned the car off and on again, and fine. no error lights no nothing. i begin to proceed again praying it would get me home. i now am at aprox. 55 mph and it does it again. this time i am in the right lane of the highway with an oncoming lane and no where to go. put my flashers on, scared out of my mind call for help. police come and i am sitting in fast moving traffic praying not to be hit.. the officer asks if i am out of gas i say no, i have approx. 150 miles to empty. he asks me to turn car on and it starts. he follows me to get me to a safe place to wait for help. i was towed home and the earliest ford ...

Ford fusion 2010 s - when the brake was depressed the car accelerated until i depressed a second time much harder. the consumer first began to notice the vehicle would intermittently not start in august. he took the vehicle to the dealer, but they were unable to duplicate the problem. the consumer insisted there was a problem and eventually, they found a technical service bulletin that addressed the issue. the problem was attributed to radio frequency intermittently corrupting the crankshaft position sensor and a new ground strip was installed. the problem seemed to be rectified. the weather stripping surrounding the rear window was loose, there was loose metal around the passenger rear wheel. *jb
