Initial Drive Information

This section provides a brief overview about some of the important features that may or may not be on your specific vehicle. For more detailed information, refer to each of the features which can be found later in this owner’s manual.

Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) System

The Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter may be used to lock and unlock the doors from up to 60 m (197 ft) away from the vehicle. Q : Press to lock all doors. K : Press to unlock the driver door or all doors, depending on the vehicle personalization settings. See “Remote Lock, Unlock, Start” under Vehicle Personalization 0 147. 7 : Press and release one time to initiate vehicle locator. Press and hold for three seconds to sound the panic alarm. Press again or start the vehicle to cancel the panic alarm.

X : Press twice quickly to release the trunk.

Press the key release button on the side of the transmitter to pull out the key. Never pull the key out without pressing the button. The key can be used for the driver door. See Keys 0 26 and Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) System Operation 0 27.

Remote Vehicle Start

The engine can be started from outside of the vehicle.

Starting the Vehicle

1. Press and release Q on the RKE

transmitter. 2. Immediately press and hold /

for at least four seconds or until the turn signal lamps flash.

Start the vehicle normally after entering. When the vehicle starts, the parking lamps will turn on. Remote start can be extended.

Canceling a Remote Start

To cancel a remote start, do one of the following: . Press and hold/ until the

parking lamps turn off. . Turn on the hazard warning

flashers. . Turn the vehicle on and then off. See Remote Vehicle Start 0 34.

Door Locks

To lock or unlock a door manually: . Use the key in the driver door. The key cylinder is covered by a cap. See Door Locks 0 35.

. To unlock a door from the inside, pull once on the door handle to unlock it, and again to open it.

Power Door Locks

. From the inside, press Q or K. See Power Door Locks 0 37.

. From the outside, press Q or K on the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter, or press the button on the door handle when the RKE transmitter is within 1 m (3 ft). See Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) System Operation 0 27.

Trunk

To open the trunk: . Press| from inside the vehicle.

. PressX twice quickly on the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter. See Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) System Operation 0 27.

. Press the emblem on the trunk after unlocking all doors. See Trunk 0 39.

Windows

The power windows work when the ignition is on, in ACC/ACCESSORY, or when Retained Accessory Power (RAP) is active. See Retained Accessory Power (RAP) 0 188.

Seat Adjustment Uplevel Seat Adjustment

If equipped, the ignition must be on to use all uplevel seat features.

Uplevel Seat Control

1. Feature Select

. Move Feature Select (1) to display seat adjustments on the infotainment display. Press and release or hold to scroll through features.

. Press Up (2) to make upward adjustments of the selected feature.

. Press Rearward (3) to make rearward adjustments of the selected feature.

. Press Down (4) to make downward adjustments of the selected feature.

. Press Forward (5) to make forward adjustments of the selected feature.

Base Seat Adjustment

To adjust the seat: . Move the seat forward or rearward

by sliding the control forward or rearward.

. Raise or lower the front part of the seat cushion by moving the front of the control up or down.

. Raise or lower the seat by moving the rear of the control up or down.

See Power Seat Adjustment 0 56.

Reclining Seatbacks

To adjust the seatback: . Tilt the top of the control

rearward to recline. . Tilt the top of the control forward

to raise. See Reclining Seatbacks 0 59.

Memory Features

Driver Buttons Shown, Passenger Buttons Similar

If equipped, memory seats allow two drivers to save and recall their unique seat positions for driving the vehicle, and a shared exit position for getting out of the vehicle. Other feature positions may also be saved, such as power mirrors and power steering wheel, if equipped. Memory positions are linked to RKE transmitter 1 or 2 for automatic memory recalls. Before saving, adjust all available memory feature positions. Turn the ignition on and then press and release

SET; a beep will sound. Then immediately press and hold 1, 2, orB (Exit) until two beeps sound. To manually recall these positions, press and hold 1, 2, orB until the saved position is reached. When Seat Entry Memory is enabled in vehicle personalization, positions previously saved to memory buttons 1 and 2 are recalled when the ignition is changed from off to on or ACC/ ACCESSORY. When Seat Exit Memory is enabled in vehicle personalization, the feature automatically recalls the previously saved exit position when exiting the vehicle. Memory adjustments may not be available upon delivery or after service until steps in “Saving Memory Positions” section are performed. See Memory Seats 0 60.

Second Row Seats

On some vehicles, either side of the seatback can be folded for more cargo space.

Heated and Ventilated Seats

If equipped, the buttons are near the climate controls on the center stack. To operate, the engine must be running. Press J or z to heat the driver or passenger seat cushion and seatback. PressC or { to ventilate the driver or passenger seat.

Press the button once for the highest setting. With each press of the button, the seat will change to the next lower setting, and then to the off setting. The indicator lights next to the buttons indicate three for the highest setting and one for the lowest. If the front heated seats are on high, the level may automatically be lowered after approximately 30 minutes. See Heated and Ventilated Front Seats 0 63.

Head Restraint Adjustment

Do not drive until the head restraints for all occupants are installed and adjusted properly. To achieve a comfortable seating position, change the seatback recline angle as little as necessary while keeping the seat and the head restraint height in the proper position. See Head Restraints 0 53 and Power Seat Adjustment 0 56.

Passenger Sensing System

United States

Canada

The passenger sensing system will turn off the front outboard passenger frontal airbag and knee airbag under certain conditions. No other airbag is affected by the passenger sensing system. See Passenger Sensing System 0 82. The passenger airbag status indicator lights on the overhead console when the vehicle is started. See Passenger Airbag Status Indicator 0 130.

Mirror Adjustment

Exterior Mirror

1. Move the selector switch to L (Left) or R (Right) to choose the driver or passenger mirror.

2. Press one of the four arrows to move the mirror.

3. Move the selector switch to ) to deselect the mirror.

The vehicle has manual folding mirrors or, if equipped, power folding mirrors. See Folding Mirrors 0 44.

Interior Mirror Adjustment

Hold the rearview mirror in the center and move it to view the area behind the vehicle.

Automatic Dimming Rearview Mirror

The vehicle has an automatic dimming rearview mirror. The mirror will automatically reduce the glare from the headlamps from behind. The dimming feature comes on when the vehicle is started. See Automatic Dimming Rearview Mirror 0 46.

Steering Wheel Adjustment

Press the control to move the tilt and telescoping steering wheel up and down or forward and rearward. Do not adjust the steering wheel while driving.

Interior Lighting

Dome Lamp

The dome lamp is in the overhead console.

To change the dome lamp settings, press:

OFF : Turns the lamp off, even when a door is open.

DOOR : The lamp comes on automatically when a door is opened.

ON : Turns the dome lamp on.

Reading Lamps

There are reading lamps on the overhead console and over the rear passenger doors. These lamps come on automatically when any door is opened. To manually turn the reading lamps on or off:

Press m or n next to each overhead console reading lamp.

Press the lamp lenses to turn the rear passenger reading lamps on or off.

Exterior Lighting

The exterior lamp control is on the turn signal lever. Turn the control to the following positions: O : Turns off the exterior lamps. The knob returns to the AUTO position after it is released. Turn to O again to reactivate the AUTO mode.

AUTO : Automatically turns the exterior lamps on and off, depending on outside lighting.

; : Turns on the parking lamps including all lamps, except the headlamps. 5 : Turns on the headlamps together with the parking lamps and instrument panel lights. See: . Exterior Lamp Controls 0 155 . Turn and Lane-Change Signals

Windshield Wiper/Washer

With the ignition on or in ACC/ ACCESSORY, move the lever to select the wiper speed.

HI : Use for fast wipes.

LO : Use for slow wipes.

INT : Use this setting for intermittent wipes or Rainsense, if equipped. For intermittent wipes, move the windshield wiper lever to INT. Turn thex INT band up for more frequent wipes or down for less frequent wipes. If equipped with Rainsense and the feature is enabled in vehicle personalization, move the windshield wiper lever to INT and turn thex INT band to adjust the sensitivity to moisture. . Turn the band up for more

sensitivity to moisture. . Turn the band down for less

sensitivity to moisture. . Move the windshield wiper lever

out of the INT position to deactivate Rainsense.

OFF : Use to turn the wipers off.

1X : For a single wipe, briefly move the lever down. For several wipes, hold the lever down. nL : Pull the lever toward you to spray windshield washer fluid and activate the wipers. See Windshield Wiper/Washer 0 113.

Climate Controls

The climate control buttons and the climate control display are used to adjust the heating, cooling, and ventilation.

Transmission

Tap Shift

Tap Shift allows the driver to manually control the automatic transmission. To use Tap Shift, the shift lever must be in M (Manual Mode). If equipped, the controls are on the back of the steering wheel. Tap the left control to downshift, and the right control to upshift. A Driver Information Center (DIC) message indicates the gear the vehicle is in. See Manual Mode 0 193.
