Problems with 2006 Toyota Sienna AIR BAGS

Airbag light stays on

The airbags warning light intermittently turns on and flashes. you notice it seconds after the car is started. if i wiggle the wires under the passenger seat, it sometimes goes away. then it shows up again...and again.

The airbag light suddenly turned on one day and has remained on to this date (8/7/2019) every time when we turn on engine and drive the vehicle. we are the original car owner, and the odometer is 78919 miles. we called local toyota dealer and were informed that our 2006 toyota sienna van is not on airbag recall list.

The airbag light been flashing all the time.

System is presenting airbag warning codes b0111 & b0116. these codes mean that we have to spend $3000-4000 to replace the airbags and wiring harnesses for the driver and passenger sides. this is completely out if the blue because a warning light came on. the vehicle is otherwise in great shape and has never been in an accident.

Airbag light is flashing. while driving or being on it flashes.

The srs airbag light comes on after putting the car in motion for a few minutes. we have not had it looked at by a professional but i did do a visual inspection under the front seat and there were no issues with the connectors.

Air bag connectors are having moisture damages. the connectors are oxidized and loosed the connection. the air bag indicator light is on.

Traction control randomly activates the brakes and locks the front wheel causing the car to skid and lose traction. may result in accident if not corrected. air bag light is on toyota make technical service bulletin and recalled other vehicles but will not recall my vehicle. dealer will not repair

The air bag light flashes. toyota replaced the harness under the front passenger seat and shortly the problem came back. i had received notice that there was an issue but toyota kept the notice and now will not acknowledge therthat is an issue. toyota claims th harness is defective and will cost to fix. this should not be an issue for a vehicle that has never b en in an accident.

Check airbags light comes on for no reason.

Air bag warning continuously flashes when the car is on. mechanic tried to reset it but it goes right back to flashing when the car is restarted. no accidents, this began at 114,000 miles. concerned airbag will not deploy on impact, or will deploy randomly because it is faulty. the vin shows there is no recall but isn't this a safety issue when hundreds have reported the same problem? *tr

Srs warning indicator is continuously showing up in a blinking mode.

Airbag light indicator is on without the car involved in an accident. the repair person(delaer) checked it and says the complete assembly has to be replaced and he is not sure why it went fault. i suspect it is a manufacturing defect with the wiring

My 2006 sienna airbags unpredictably become non-functional. that is, the warning light goes on and off at unpredictable intervals. i am told by the dealer service representatives that the airbags are non-functional (i.e., system shut down) when the warning light is flashing. this is a severe safety concern to me for the sake of my family. it is galling since the airbag system was a major selling point of the car. an estimate repairs by dealer is $1100 apparently included replacing whole airbag system. i do not understand why de owner has to respond for a secure system that never had used, and why the manufacturer not warns that the air bag system will degrade over time. the van is in motion on a city.

Takata recall airbag light on when start engine and airbag light on still on not turn off after one minuter

Toyota has an on-going issue with airbag/srs wiring harnesses that fail. when the wiring harness fails it disables the entire srs system. the occupant is then at risk in a collision. this condition initiated on its own and is not the result of a collision. the local toyota dealer relayed that it is a common occurrence and would cost over $2000 dollars to repair. it shows up on the obdii diagnostic as a right-side airbag squib. this code is as follows; b0106 code open in p squib circuit.

Air bag light blinking, has come up several times, the web is full of unhappy people with this problem but no recall according to dealer.

The airbag sensor light comes on and flashes. it will shut off and turn on randomly. the wire harness under the seat becomes loose or damaged as the seats are moved and airbags are not detected. the light stays flashing and airbags are non-functional. toyota knows about this but tries to charge thousands of dollars for them to replace their faulty wires.

Airbag light blinking for passenger side. happened before. kaiserslautern, germany toyota dealership said if it happens again that airbag may have to be replaced and it would cost 1,500 to 2,000 dollars. safety should be not expire within 3-5 year warranty. should be lifetime until owner owns/has the vehicle. should be fixed/replaced with no charge. on a different topic, the wheels/rims is another issue. it bubbled/corroded and toyota said not covered under warranty. constantly losing air before i bought new aftermarket wheels. should have been fixed/replaced by toyota also. btw, daytime phone is address in chicago. my number for germany is 011 49 6371 56000351.

The srs warning light comes on and off intermittently. i have read many online forums and this seems to be a common problem. i am hoping a recall will be issued for the safety of my family and all the other families out there with similar issues. i am usually able to fix it by jiggling the wiring under the driver and passenger seats.

On march 13, 2015 driving on i-95 south in a 2006 toyota sienna van the cruise control would not disengage when the brakes were applied approaching an exit ramp. the vehicle would not slowdown in spite of pressing the brake pedal as hard as possible. moving the control lever forward to disengage the function was also not successful. the exit ramp was inclined so the cruise control accelerated the engine in an attempt to maintain our speed at 70 mph. the vehicle went thru a stop sign, bounced off the guard rail and came to a sudden stop with the engine not running. the impact destroyed the right side of the vehicle and the stopping was so abrupt that the cell phone (in my shirt pocket)flew out ripping the pocket off the shirt. neither the front nor the side air bags were deployed. skid marks made by the vehicle's right front tire (and possibly the rear right tire) prior to and after hitting the guard rail indicate the brakes were working on at least this side. skid marks attributable to the left hand tires were not noticed. *tr

My 2006 sienna, airbag srs light is blinking all the time, which means airbag won't be deployed during accident. this is very critical. i saw so many owners of 2006 sienna complain about the exactly same issue. why is this not recalled?

My wife stated that when she started up the van, the airbag light came on and stayed flashing the entire time she was driving. i checked for myself and found the same issue. i referenced the owners manual which stated that it needs to be taken to service immediately. *tr

Driving my daughter home from school the srs indicator light came on in dashboard and began flashing. this is the "drivers side" indicator, not the passenger side indicator located beneath the clock. *tr

The airbag light began blinking. i took it to the dealership for a diagnosis and was told that both air bags would need to be replaced at a cost of nearly $1,500. our sienna only has 86k miles on it and has not been in an accident. from my research, this air bag problem with this particular vehicle has garnered several complaints. it is my opionion that this is a known issue at toyota and should be subject to a recall. *js
