This is the third regulator on my windows i have replaced the last one happened when i was christmas shopping and when i came out of the store my window was almost completely down how nothing got stolen istill dont know. *tr

Own a 2004 ford f-150 4 door. i have had to replace three of the fourpower window regulators. all three were still under warranty also, the transmission hesitation/loss of rpm/ while driving more so on the freeway when the rpm's reach about 1200/1500 or loss of rpm on deceleration. the dealer would not look at my tranny. truck was still under warranty. now 1 year later my tranny has gone out. i have no warranty and not sure how much it is going to cost to get replaced. i believe this all could have been avoided if the dealer would have just looked at my tranny when i asked while my vehicle was still under warranty. mileage is approx. 98,684. less than 99,000. *tr

Driver side window motor with regulator. *tr

I own a 2004 ford f150. the third window regulator went out today as i was driving my vehicle. the window just dropped without any prior warning. my granddaughter is usually seating by this window in her car seat. fortunately she was not sitting by the window this time. *tr

My driver side front door power window regulator failed today and my window came crashing down inside my door and was unable to put window up. *tr

I was driving down the road when my window on my ford f150 lariat came crashing down two weeks ago( my child was sitting next to the window she is 6 mths old) & it distracted me long enough to look back @ the road & there was a car stopped to make a sudden turn & i couldn't slow down fast enough & i hit them in the rear. all 4 of us went to hospital with minor injuries. it was my fault the cop said but i told him about the window & he didn't give me a ticket thankfully. its still @ the body shop being fixed the problem was the window regulator & it is being replaced but the body shop manager says these go out way to much this is the 3rd one replaced on this truck, so i looked online & couldn't believe how many people have this problem i think you should research this & put a recall on them & make ford fix them for free this is definitely caused from ford trying to cut corners & save $ but this is a serious problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2004 ford f-150 superduty. the contact stated that the motor for the windows failed within the first 18 months of ownership. the driver, passenger rear and front passenger side motors have all failed. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who stated that because there were no related recalls, he would be responsible for repair costs. the vin was unavailable. the manufacturer had not been notified. the failure mileage was approximately 50,000.

My window rolled up then i heard a loud pop, and the window fell down into the housing. the button will not roll up the window. *tr

This is a failure of the driver's side window falling down into the door while driving. this seams to be a very common problem for the ford f-150 pickup. while it has not lead to a crash to my knowledge, the potential is there. imagine driving down the interstate in crowed traffic and your window drops down without warning. your attention will definitely be distracted from your driving and during inclement weather this could be even more dangerous. everything i have read points to the same product failure. a recall should be mandatory before someone gets hurt. *tr

I'm an owner of a 2004 ford f150. i had a situation where my drivers side window slid down all of sudden. found that the power window regulator went bad. i saw other complaints regarding the same year truck and faulty window regulators. *tr

On dec 31, 2008, while driving to dinner, i heard a loud noise and assumed something hit my vehicle. my window then began slowly sliding down. i was told that the regulator was broken and i needed to replace the entire mechanism (regulator and motor), i could only get the part through a ford dealership. the complete repair (part and labor) cost me approx. $380.00. on nov 16, 2009 (11 months later) the same thing again happens to my rear passenger side window. i was not driving this time. the vehicle was parked at my home. i received an estimate stating that i would be paying nearly the same cost as before. *tr

My window regulators in my f-150 have failed three times in the last 15 months. *tr

Failure of power window regulator. i have replaced the drivers side and not 2 months later the passenger side is broken. i both cases it is the samething failing in the regulator. *tr

Driving 35 mph on smooth road, passenger attempted to lower side window and the window dropped to the bottom of the door (inside) and would not operate up. *tr

Widow regulator breaks and window falls into door. it has happened on three of the four windows on ford f150 crewcab. two of the incidents have occurred while vehicle was in motion and one incident occur when vehicle was parked and unattended. corrective action, take vehicle to dealership, pay deductible on extended warranty, and window gets fixed. the date on this form is of the latest incident. *tr

The ford f150 i bought new in 2004 has defective window regulators. i have had to replace three so far, two under warranty and the third recently at the cost of $435. these regulators go out and the window drops into the door. it is always sudden and unexpected and is quite a distraction. i am fortunate this has never resulted in my having an accident. *tr

Rear window regulator broke and window dropped indoor. having children it is not same to have a window down while driving and not to mention it could have broke window and hit my kids. *tr

1. none 2. 2004 ford f150 super crew power window regulator failure. 3. replaced part and yes i saved the old parts. *tr

I was driving on the interstate when the right rear window fell into the door. this is the third time this has happened. i took the ford f150 to the dealership and paid over $400 to replace the window regulator. *tr

Same as everyone else ... the window just comes crashing down without even touching it while we were driving along. *tr

Driving down the road and then my drivers side window just falls. this has been occurring about 3 times a week since the beginning of november 2009 up to now (july 16, 2010), and will probably continue to happen. *tr

Window regulator went out on my ford f-150 for the second time and has been replaced. my children were not in the car at the time my passenger side window dropped rapidly but i did think it was going to shatter. *tr

My front passenger window fell into the door as i was stopped at a stoplight waiting to get on the highway. from the sound of it i thought the window had broken. it was a good thing i wasn't driving down the highway during that time. it probably would have caused a major accident. *tr

While driving approximately 70 mph (speed limit), i heard a loud pop (sounded like a gunshot) that made me swerve and almost leave the highway. after stabilizing my truck, i realized that the cause of the loud pop was a broken window regulator on the passenger side. *tr

All four of the power window regulators on my 2004 f-150 have failed over the last couple of years. i use the truck for work and generally travel alone so the non-driver windows get very little use. *tr

3 out of 4 windows on my 2004 ford f150 have fallen down because of window motor regulator failure. nothing has been done to fix the problem! *tr

Passenger side door regulator failed causing the door glass to fall into the door .the window fell while the vehicle was at highway speed. it fell all of a sudden on its own. this happened during a heavy rain. it is my understanding after internet research that this is a common failure for this model ford truck and i think it is a safety hazard. *tr

I have a 2004 ford f-150 crew cab. with my crew cab the rear windows are capable of being lowered to the top portion of the door, at arm level. both my rear windows and now my drivers door window regulator have gone out with the windows slamming down within the door. i have four small children, 9, 7, 5, and 3. as the windows have fallen down without warning a shade fell onto my youngest, all due to the defect of the regulator in the f-150. this is a major hazard and i think that a recall is in place to mandate that ford recall this item and fix the problem. *tr

I pressed the button to open the driver's side window on my 2004 f150 truck. the window fell completely down into the door and would not come back up when i pressed the "up" button. i took the truck to a ford dealership and they replaced the window regulator. *tr

Unexpected failure of power window regulator. this has occurred 4 times. at the time of failure the window glass free falls into window channel, causing an expected rush on air to enter the passenger compartment. r & r the window regulator. parts will be available. *tr

2004 ford f-150 crew cab power windows so far three of the four power windows have failed in the same way. the failure is as follows: windows go down but will not go up. the first was the front drivers side; plastic "pulleys' shattered in windows mechanism second was the front passengers side; plastic "pulleys' shattered in windows mechanism the third was the rear passengers side; plastic "pulleys' shattered in windows mechanism. *tr

Last night i was driving with my six yr old daughter in my 2004 ford f150, when the power window regulator broke causing the window to crash down near my daughter. luckily i was near my exit on the interstate and pulled off before anything happened. needless to say, my daughter was scared to death. after getting online, i realized this is a well known and documented problem. something needs to be done about this before someone actually gets hurt if they haven't already. now i will be forced to spend around $400 to repair my vehicle due to poor quality from ford and no attempt to recall this item thus far! *tr

This safety concern is in regards to the power window regulators found in my 2004 ford f-150. the first window regulator (driver's side) went out while in north dakota. there was no warning just a loud pop, followed by the window falling in the door. the passenger side window regulator broke one week later to the day. when both of these broke, i was left with near zero visibility inside the cab of my truck while driving or sitting. if there is any sort of precipitation, you are no longer protected. also, the safety of my family, property, and truck has been jeopardized. another problem arises when you go to get the problem fixed. i took my truck to a ford dealership in jamestown, north dakota who new of the problem as soon as they saw my window. however, they were going to replace the regulator with the same part that obviously has built in obsolescence. why would anyone pay $400 to fix one window, only to have it break days later; leaving them stranded, hurt, or worse. with literally thousands of complaints on the internet, and many submitted on this site, it concerns me to wonder if this problem has caused a fatal crash or incident yet. maybe this is what it will take to have this problem looked at in detail. if ford motor company is willing to stand behind a plastic window regulator that has broke in my truck twice, and thousands of other similar trucks, just to save a "buck" so be it. i am just one person speaking, but, when is a "buck" worth more than someone's life. *tr

3 of the 4 window regulators have failed in the past 6 months. *tr

2004 ford f-150 lariat. the passenger door window regulator has failed for the second time. fortunately the first time it failed it was still covered under the factory warranty. this time it's going to cost me a bundle. *tr

My 2004 f150 has been struck by this defective power window regulator. i was driving down the road and i heard a thump and my rear window fell into the door. ford has said it will cost me $400 dollars and i have an expired warranty. now that i'm reading more into this on the net. it seems that the f150 has a defective part that is causing thousands of the same problem. i don't want to pay for this problem to be fixed for another defective replacement part to be put in. *tr

Both rear windows in my 2004 ford f150 broke at the same time and the windows dropped to the floor. i have had these replaced twice already and they keep breaking. i was just sting at a light then heard something like a rock hit the side of the truck then the window just dropped it was the cables that hold the windows up snapping. i have three very young children and live where there are extreme temps. i cannot have my young children exposed to these kind of environments. ford is the only place to get these parts because they know there is a problem with them. *tr

I was going to my truck and i realized that the driver's side window was down. when i tried to raise it, it made a grinding noise and would not budge. all of my personal belongings were in my truck and someone could have easily taken them. i will not be able to go to work or school with the window down and i am not paying to have it repaired. this is ford's responsibility. something needs to be done about this issue. *tr

2004 ford f150 supercrew window regulator failure. my truck has sat through 2 years of deployments, for me to only return and in a matter of 3 years to have all 4 window regulators fail in my truck. ford should do a recall on this problem. the mechanics at the dealers are fully aware of this issue and the frequency of which it happens. $440.00 is too much per incident. ford needs to do something about this issue. *tr ~russell murzyn

I own a 2004 f-150 crew cab xlt pickup that i purchased used 1 year ago. since owning the vehicle i have had both the driver's side window regulator and driver's side passenger window regulator failed, in both instances the window was being raised, at about half way up the windows suddenly stopped and started sliding down its track instead of going up. the cost of repairing the driver's window was $590. to date. i have not been able to afford to replace the rear passenger window, it is held up with wood wedges. there is something wrong when units fail with less then 6 years of wear on them and it can be a safety issue if it happens while you are on a trip. i have had to keeping extra wood wedges in my truck just incase another window fails! *tr

Ford f150 20004 power window regulator p/n 4l3z1823201ca ford charges about $500 for this item. this is second one in 14 months. *tr

Window mechanism on 2004 ford f-150 fails suddenly and window is stuck in the down position. this has happened twice on two different windows. this can be a personal safety issue of course as well as a huge security issue. dealer told me that ford used cheap plastic parts in the 2004 and they get hundreds of customers in for this repair. *tr

2004 ford f150 power window failure. *tr

Power window regulator failure 2004 ford f-150. today i had the power window regulator fail on my truck. i was driving in traffic in salem oregon and all of a sudden my drivers window just fell into the door. this startled the heck out of me with the load thud it made. i honestly thought someone had thrown something against by door or something, which made me jerk away from the window nearly side swiping a vehicle to my right. luckily that drive was on the ball and veered out of the way. after reading all of the complaints i thought i must add to this list. i can not afford another near $400 times three when the others go bad. i have a three year old little girl and i fear that the next time this happens she may be in the truck and who knows what could happen then!! ford needs to be forced into replacing this faulty design which is a safety hazard. thank you *tr

I was driving my 2004 ford f150 on the highway when all of a sudden i heard a loud bang. i thought i had been hit by a bullet or ran over something that could have made such a loud noise. when i got home i checked my truck for any damages and didn't find any, so i proceeded to get my groceries down and take them inside. when i came back outside i went to the passenger side door to get the rest of my groceries when i heard another loud noise once again i went and check the truck and couldn't find anything but noticed that my drivers side window was down. i thought then i don't remember leaving my window down but i went and got my keys to close my window when, i turned the key to get the window up i heard the motor running but the window did not come up. so i took my truck to a body shop and the repair man said it could just be the regulator because he could also hear the motor. he then removed the panel and found out that not only the regulator was going to have to be replaced but also the motor. *tr

Window regulator failure: i have now replaced 3 out of 4 window regulators. my out of pocket cost is slightly over $900.00. the failures have been sudden with no warning.one occurred in traffic at 55mph. i live in colorado and weather could pose a health and safety issue. more important is consumer protection. three failures in just a couple of years is indicative of manufacturer using substandard parts or components. ford should correct this potentially dangerous situation and compensate those who have had to bear the cost of repair for substandard workmanship and materials. the date of the first and second incidents were close to the listed date the most recent was september 1 of this year. repair work was done by a local shop records are available to refine the dates and exact mileage. *tr

Window regulator failed on my rear drivers side allowing window to fall. luckily we were parked at the time. vehicle is 2004 ford f150 lariat super crew. can't find parts online so ford is taking advantage of the situation by requiring people to buy only from them at $425 a time. the rear sliding winow has never worked on this vehicle. *tr

Ford f150 window regulator failure. driver side failed in 2005 @ 25,000 miles, passenger side just failed @ 101,000 miles. *tr

Window regulators failing under normal driving conditions. safety concern for passengers and driver. 3rd failure on same vehicle, different window each time. *tr

The regulators on both the driver's side and passenger side of my 2004 ford f150 have failed causing the windows to drop inside the door frame.... and a repair bill of $300.00 for each window. *tr
