The driver seat of my murano move back when i press the gas and when i press the brake it moves forward and pushes me up the guy i bought my car from told me that most of the muranos had recalls on their seat bc of this reason. it messes me up when brake and pressing gas bc i'm moving.
Driver seat collapsed on rear while driving. the base frame is a square that has a horizontal bar on the back and that broke on the left rear side that resulted in dipping on that side when seated and driving. this is unsafe !! no reason any metal that should have been welded should brake off
Driver seat bottom frame broken as described by https://www.nissanmurano.org/forums/66-problems/1548-driver-s-seat-11.html on highway, causing driver to bend during a steering to right side/forward.
The nissan murano driver seat bracket has cracked like every other person on this list has stated while my daughter was driving to and from work which she drives daily only 14 miles round trip. she goes between 30-45 miles per hour and while this crack occurred she was going about 35on a city street, she didn't loose control but the car did veer off to the side as who would expect your seat to partially collapse. thank goodness the road was empty and she has no traffic to combat with. the nhtsa should care of the chance of death or accident from occurring not just what has happened, the complaints have been stated as being high by the nhtsa. clearly nissan usa should be liable if there are so many complaints that it is clear they have used a faulty part. a recall should be issued and protection for the consumers who have invested or chosen these car should be a priority not protection of big business. this is a component that shouldn't break if a properly constructed bracket was used. having had 7 cars over my life from ranging in age from 20 years old to brand new none of them have ever had this issue and i am appalled that no one, not nissan or the nhtsa cares about a poorly constructed product that is not what the consumer paid for and could lead to potential injury. i guess some more people have to get hurt or die for the nhtsa to care, quite sad when you look at it this way.
Drivers side seat is loose and started to dip towards the left. the seat is broken. i looked online and can see this is a recurring problem. also the panel where you can push to lock awd or put on the seat warmers has sunk into the panel.
Complaint: drivers seat rear bracket snapped off making the seat sway from side to side, unable to drive when cornering, was driving on rt 81 at 70mph had to find the nearest exit to stop, now driving with 3 2x4s under the rear seat to stop the sway.
My seat is loose due to failure of the 8 way adjustable control that is a major safety issue and that was repaired by nissan 2 time ones when the car was 2 years old and recently i paid to have it repaired. now i have the same issue and the dealer indicated that they now have a better control at 2 times the cost.
Driver's seat bracket is broken so the seat is slanted and wobbles.
I bought my son an 2005 nissan murano last year. just recently his drivers seat track has broken in the farthest back position it can go. it is now a safety concern for me to drive. i can not reach the gas pedal and brake safely. i did some research and found that many many people have had the same problem and that nissan would not fix it because their were no injuries as of yet.... injuries or not this is a defective product and they should make it right !! i contacted nissan directly and just like everyone else they will not do anything about it. i am a single mom still paying on this car i can't afford $1,000.00 to replace the seat. why can't someone make this company do the ethical thing and replace the broken part????? we work hard for our money and there should be someone out there to protect the consumer not the major corporations ! what has happened to this country ? there is no integrity anymore just greed. i for one will tell everyone i know how nissan handled this as well as i will never never buy nissan again. toyota ahd honda will always get my business because they stand behind their product. i drive a honda and even though my vehicle was out of warranty i had a piston seal issue in my motor and they fixed it free of charge and made it like new again. thanks for nothing nissan you suck !! my son was getting into the car, sat in the seat and all of a sudden he felt the left side of the seat drop down. it will not move forward or backward only slightly sideways. it is now useless to me being i am only 5'5 my son is 6'2 and only 148lbs. it was not from his weight, it is from a faulty metal.
Tl* the contact owns a 2005 nissan murano. while driving 35 mph, the front driver side seat bracket fractured and caused the contact to veer to the left. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the seat bracket needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 174,000.
Driver seat is broken it is being supported now with 3 bricks. it broke as i was making a right turn and i temporary lost control of the vehicle.
The drivers seat mounting bracket failed and the seat fell. apparently this has happened to others on this model year? i believe this is a safety concern as a driver could lose control if the bracket snaps like mine did. luckily mine was stationary when it snapped.
I have a broken seat track that when i stop it put me in to the steering wheel. this is the 2nd time this has happened it was replaced on august 19 2011 and nissan payed $500 toward the replacement and now it has broken again. this is a very unsafe common problem with this car as seen on the nissan message boards.
While driving my vehicle on january 2,2016 i heard a loud noise from my seat and then a sudden drop in the rear drivers side seat. upon pulling over i noticed that the seat was unattached on the rear left side. i took it to my repair shop, they removed the seat to find that the bracket was completely sheared off. i was told that they have never seen anything like that before. he called the nissan dealership and he was informed that there was tsb's on the drivers seat but no recall stating that there were no serious accidents as a result of this defect but that was all and was told that we could buy the parts from them but that it was all on me to pay to have it repaired
The front bracket of the driver seat seems to have broke and the seat lifts to the side while i'm driving. it also lifts a little while i get in the car. same problem documented here http://www.nissanmurano.org/forums/66-problems/1548-driver-s-seat-30.html
Driver seat back left bracket connected to the frame is broken. my driver seat now sways back and forth while driving and is very uncomfortable on my back. it is a serious safety hazard while driving. this a very common problem that nissan should fix by ensuring a recall for their costumers.
Exiting the neighborhood, the drivers seat fell backwards from underneath the seat. *tr
While turning a corner the seat mount (driver's side) broke causing the seat to immediately slant to the left. luckily i was only traveling at a relatively slow speed, had i been on the highway, passing a truck this equipment failure could have potentially caused a serious accident, as i would have no doubt been distracted and tried to fix or adjust the seat. apparently this is a common failure for this vehicle due to the low quality parts being used. nissan should take ownership of this problem especially when the vehicle is one of their more expensive ones currently in their inventory. *tr
I have a 2005 nissan murano s with just 65,000 miles on it. the driver's seat broke; i think it is something at the left rear of the seat. after looking on line, i found that there is a problem with a part called the lifter bracket. it would appear that there are hundreds of people out there with this problem. apparently nissan is aware of this problem because they manufacture a part for this repair at a very high cost to the consumer not to mention the labor cost to do the repair. this has been an apparent problem for years without any recall by nissan. my sister also has a 2005 nissan murano as well and her driver's seat broke a few years ago; they put a brick under it to stop the rocking! the seat rocks to the right when you go around a corner and god forbid what could happen if an accident were to occur. is there anything your agency can do to cause nissan to issue a recall on the driver's seat? *tr
Front drivers side seat. left rear reinforcement broken. no collisions or crashes. same part where all the other seats are breaking. *tr
Hello dear, i am writing this message to report a critical issue which happened on my nissan murano 2005. last week during driving, my whole driver seat suddenly loose and now it almost fell off from frame. i feel not safe any more to drive it. it costs $500 to $1000 to fix. it is a nissan murano 2005 s model, i bought on february 2006 band new. it has around 100k, i used it for work most of time. after did some research online, i found it is a very common issue on nissan murano 2005. nissan should recall for this critical issue and take full responsible for the fix. *tr
While boarding my car driver seat broke and also the damage triggered the air bag light to pop since the driver seat is linked to air bag.
Well, month ago my wife unlocked the car ,sat inside and start the engine. while she was trying to reverse then front driver seat just collapsed on the left side. well,we find out it is front seat bracket that broke and while i was looking it online find out that a lot of people had same issues with their nissan and never was made to be recall.they charge to fix that between 950-1200 $ . nissan is very much aware of this issue and they did found solution by putting an extra support on the bracket so it's more sturdy. i'm just happy that this did not happen on hwy. that could cause me to cause accident and get hurt me and other people. please take this seriously because we all know this is not something that should happen especially on the driver side driving on major hwy. or not. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2005 nissan murano. the contact stated that the anchor bracket fractured on the driver's seat and the seat remained shifted to the left. the vehicle was taken to the dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not notified. the failure mileage was 140,000.

Drivers seat leans to the left, seems like this is a very well known problem for this car. *tr
I could not move my power seat to drive and s terrified every time i drive.for no reason my seat stopped going forward and back and then it would swivel on the track. . the next day i brought the car to my mechanic and he verified i needed a new power seat. i called nissan corp that night and voiced my concern and i was given a case number, but was told i had to go to a nissan dealership. i made the for the next day. took the car in to lokey nissan on 7/01/04. they verified i needed a lower seat assembly and a finisher assembly (which holds the wires). the parts are $1300. and labor $395.89. i then called april back (as she instructed) @ nissan 1-800-647-7261 (4 or 5 times) and all i got was her recording. the case # is: [xxx] and april is @ 457248. i was able to find a used part and my mechanic could install it, but after reading on the internet how many moreno owner's this happen's to, i am appalled. there should definitely be a recall on these cars. nissan knew about the problem on 04 - 06 moreno's faulty front power seat and or improper forward/backward movement. and special bulletins went out to all technical service personnel to amend and incorporate ntb-5-056 into their service manuals. my husband and i are both on disability and do not have $1600. to fix nissan's mistake. i feel i am in danger every time i get behind the wheel and to make matters worse, nissan won't return my phone calls, when they are the ones who told me to go to the dealership...big waste of time and get a service record going.so in all: nissan corp knows that the seat slide motor or gear assembly needs to replaced for any reason, that the power seat has voltage to it, but will not move forward or backward. the seat also moves while driving it because the seat won't stay on the track: it becomes crooked on the seat tracks. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6) *js
Tl* the contact owns a 2005 nissan murano. the contact stated that while driving approximately 3 mph, a loud abnormal noise was present and the driver's seat suddenly moved backwards and to the left causing the driver to momentarily loose control of the vehicle. the vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed that a section of the front seat frame had cracked as a result the driver seat link assembly needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 125,000.
Tl* the contact owns a 2005 nissan murano. the contact stated that the driver's seat bracket fracture. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technician diagnosed that the bracket needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure and current mileage was 160,000.
Driving, heard loud pop and driver's seat tilted back. the right rear bracket broke on the seat frame that nissan installed to replace the first one that broke on 01/30/2009 at 62,853 miles. nissan refuses to do the repair at no charge and said it will cost $1,200. my initial complaint for the first incident (odi number) is: 10593351. *tr
During normal use the driver's seat broke loose from the seat rail. i was very lucky that this occurred when i went to get into the vehicle while in my garage and not while i was driving or during a crash. upon inspection the trip steel hollowed out plate connecting the seat to the rail broke. i am a mechanical engineer and the design of this part was clearly not strong enough to survive a crash. instead of being a solid piece of thick steel it was hollowed out and the thin strips left to attach the seat to the rail were not strong enough to withstand normal use much less the force caused by a crash. the redesigned replacement part was a much stronger solid piece of metal.
Drivers seat frame broke causing driver to swerve. fortunately no traffic other cars or pedestrians were in the immediate vicinity. *tr
My driver seat broke recently. a search online determines this is a recurring prob for this vehicle. why has this issue not been a recall item, or why isn't nissan covering this defect??? the repair is approx $1,200!!! ? *tr
Driver seat bracket broken while driving vehicle on straight and level operation. researched problem and found a ton of other complaints from various other owners with same issue. issue is the rear left bracket on drivers seat. seat moves all over the place at the moment and is extremely unsafe to be driven. this is a manufacture defect in this seat. *tr
Just sat down in my car yesterday and the drivers seat made a popping noise and fell over to the left towards the door. i only way 110lbs. i have looked under the seat and there is a metal bracket that holds the seat up that is broken. *tr
While accelerating from a stop at a light the left rear corner of the driver's side seat dropped about 3-4 inches. i was now leaning back and to the left in a very weird position. i had a hard time reaching the pedals as the front of the seat was now much higher than the rear so my legs were pulled back from the brake and gas pedals. i could pull myself back up and "balance" on the three other seat mounts that were still good but i had to pull on the steering wheel to do so and that made it difficult to steer. i pulled over into a parking lot a soon as i could. after a few minutes of investigation i discovered i could at least have a stable seat if i lowered it all the way to the floor. the broken seat mount now rests on the floor of the vehicle which works for me as i'm fairly tall and can still operate the car. however, anyone a bit shorter than me cannot drive safely as they cant adjust the seat up any longer. i'm glad i was driving fairly slow when this happened as it was quite an abrupt and startling change in driving position and seems quite dangerous if driving at higher speeds or if someone has a different reaction to such an event. *js
Tl* the contact owns a 2005 nissan murano. the contact was driving 35 mph when the driver's seat became fractured. the vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection. the contact was informed that the weld joints in the lifter seat bracket were fractured and needed replacing. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the incident. the approximate failure mileage was 92,000. updated 12/20/13*cn
Tl* the contact owns a 2005 nissan murano. the contact stated that while traveling 50 mph, the driver's seat rocked back and forth. upon inspection, it was found that the base of the seat had fractured. the vehicle was taken to a private mechanic who stated that the reclining device rod had fractured. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was informed of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 199,250 and the current mileage was 200,017.
Drivers seat frame cross-member weld broke on the left rear lower weld. feels like on every turn that driver can be thrown and tilted forward right from the seat causing the steering wheel to react in an uncontrolled albeit momentary jolt. extremely dangerous as this is the cross member between left and right. many complaints online for hundreds of owners with same exact issue down to the same side and same weld. i have 2 infants that make this a very scary and dangerous situation that nissan has obviously failed to design correctly and should be a common and straightforward fix for their dealerships to resolve and owe buyers. thanks for your time and attention. *tr
The driver seat on my 2005 nissan murano s broke while driving. the left side track of the driver seat broke causing the seat to lean badly to the left forcing the driver against the door panel. very dangerous to drive. i am not a large person (male 185lbs). would like to know if nissan can make this repair at no cost to me. i have heard of a lot of similar complaints on the same model. *tr
Left seat initially stopped front to back movement. the right side would try to move but left would not move. yesterday the seat broke loose on the left side. repair estimate is $1000.00. after spending time on line, it has come to my attention that this a well documented problem. i understand a safety bulletin has been issued but nissan has not issued a recall for this issue. i believe this to be a serious safety issue as this part could break in an accident and cause serious injury to the driver. *tr
The rear drivers seat has broke. the part is on the frame of the seat that is attached to the lift motor. now it will not lift at all and i have had to use blocks to adjust the seat which is not safe but the repair is over $800. *tr
This is previously addressed in an investigation closed in 2009. my seat bracket on drivers side did however break during vehicle operation while turning a corner. i have had spinal fusion surgery and this was enough of a jolt to cause pain in my neck. the seat now wobbles side to side and front to back and in the even of and accident would not be properly secured causing any injuries to be significantly worse in my opinion. 1100.00 to replace this part is extremely irritating and i doubt others like myself have the cash to dump into a simple part with a design defect that will most likely only break again. *tr
I purchased my murano in jan 2013, the incident occurred in march 2013. my husband and i were driving last sunday. as he was approaching a stop sign we heard a loud 'pop' under the driver's seat, we thought it was a spring or something. upon getting home he discovered that the rear left bracket of the driver's seat had broken. i took it to the dealership the next morning and they told me to call nissan north america (800-nissan-1). i filed a claim and they called me back to inform me that they would be unable to replace the seat frame because the car is beyond factory warranty. the dealership quoted me $1000 to replace the broken bar. i bought the murano when i was 9 months pregnant, in fact, i had my son a week after buying the vehicle. my husband wanted me to be in a bigger car, a safer car for me and my newborn. i'm upset that the seat broke, in my mind there are two things in a car that should never break: the seats and the seatbelts, but i'm disappointed that nissan is not taking care of their customers and fixing the problem. since this happened i have researched the broken seat and there are entire forums devoted to this incident! i've been a nissan driver for nearly 10 years, this will be the last make of their car that i purchase. *tr
I was driving around a curve on a highway ramp to get onto the highway. i heard a loud pop and my seat leaned to the side and i swerved off the road. i was able to gain control of the vehicle and get back on the road. i checked under the seat and noted that a metal bracket had broken. the bracket did not look very sturdy. after researching this issue on the internet i noted that this was a common problem with nissan muranos. is there a recall on the brackets? *tr
the contact owns a 2005 nissan murano. the contact stated that the front driver seat bracket fractured and the seat rocked from side to side. the dealer was notified who stated that the seat bracket would have to be replaced. the seat was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified. the approximate failure mileage was 87,000. mw
Driver's side seat frame broken on outboard side. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2005 nissan murano. the contact noticed that the front driver's side seat bracket fractured which caused the seat to maneuver from side to side in a rocking motion. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for diagnosis. the vehicle had not been repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the problem. the approximate failure mileage was 84,000. the vin was unavailable.
While i was driving, i heard a loud pop and the drivers seat shifted. the link lifter for the seat no longer functions correctly. the seat is lopsided unless all the way down to the floor, and will not raise uniformly any more. if the seat is raised up, it leans into the back right corner, no longer level with the floor of the vehicle. internet research has shown that this is a known issue, and there has been a technical service bulletin released on it. *tr
While exiting my car as i was going to stand from my seat i heard a 'snap' and the seat dropped down a fraction in the rear left hand side. now my seat is very, very wobbly. this is evidently a very common problem. *tr
