I have had 1 oem honda starter replaced and 2 aftermarket ones. the car intermittently starts. sometimes immediately and sometimes leaves me stranded. i took the car in a few times to the honda dealership in the past and since i couldn't replicate it they couldn't do anything and was charged the diagnostic fee $180. this car is so unreliable that i can't even have my kids drive it fearing them being stranded. i had the car towed at least 6 times. to have the car start fine the next day or even hours later. there are so many complaints with others owning the same generation honda accord on all the forums online. it is not safe at all. i have been dealing with this around 40k and now my car is 160k, since no one seems to be able to fix it.
Car suddenly brakes, panic breaking, with no warning and for no reason, causing me to be in danger of hitting from behind as there is nothing in front of me causing the people behind to slow. once this happened on the interstate, with all 3 lanes clear in front of me. i was surprised the guy behind be didn't hit me, as most drivers are following to close, counting on seeing any danger in front of them through my windshield, and in this case there was nothing.
Car does not start even thought battery is fine. honda is unwilling to help without a diagnostic fee on an issue many 2013-2015 accord models have. car was parked after running completely fine, when i was trying to start it again it refused to turn on completely. tire light flashes and avs/engine/battery light are on.
There are times the car will not start. have to get a jump to start
Starter began grinding and skipping at 55,000 miles. i drive 70 miles round trip each day, so the mileage doesn't represent the actual limited amount of starts i have had with this car. tsb from honda declares 'improper clearance in starter with pinion gear may cause starting malfunction.' must rotate torque converter bolts one round clockwise and replace starter to fix. but, this won't fix the issue. the improper clearance is a design flaw. new starter will do the same thing. if the starter malfunctions again, then a new torque converter is required. this is absolutely ridiculous and unfounded in car maintenance. a bad starter design costs owners +3,400$ to remedy the second time. which still won't fix it. the third starter still won't have the proper clearance.
Vehicle is not starting when i push the ignition. i've been to many forums where similar problems have been reported and many solutions tried but no fix found. people have spent thousands of dollars to fix this issue and still no fix. i've replaced the battery and had the electrical system tested with no issue found. honda issued tsb 16-002 for v6 accord models but doesn't acknowledge the issue on my v4 model. vehicle is parked - issue has been ongoing and is getting progressively worse to the point that i am not drving it! spoke with honda customer complaint rep and informed that the tsb still does not apply to my car. in the mid-west during the winter months the risk of being stranded in sub-zero temps is very real with this issue and has already happened to me twice.
2nd occurence-while driving up a hill at approximately 30 mph the warnings for brake system failure, acc, lane departure mitigationand collision detection came on. the first time it happened i was told that the sensor had been dislodged. this time they are saying that there is a crack in the tail light assembly which set off the warning system. the braking system and a new brake assembly is needed. the brake lights work fine. even if they were both controlled by the same computer, the brake lights are on an output from the computer or pedal switch. the warning seems to indicate there might be problem with the sensor which would be an input system. control, sensors, and indication systems have separate electrical paths even if managed by the same computer. so their "diagnosis" seems highly unlikely.
My reverse camera pulls up on the screen as i've been driving for well over 30 mins and my rpm gauge has went out and goes blank every other hour or so. happened about 7 times this past month. pretty dangerous because when the following car function is on it immediately stops works, i've swerved to avoid accidents. this is all happening as i drive
On january 4th while traveling home my accord was set in cruise control and out of the blue hit the brakes on it's own with no one around me. i brushed it off but about 20 miles or so down the road it did it again except thus te was next to a diesel and not only did brake on its on it also responded as if i was out my lane and began to to turn my car into the diesel i was able to keep the car from crashing and the the cruise control went out and i began to get a message the there was an issue with the braking mechanism. i was worried about driving the remainder of of my trip but i was an hour and half away from home so traveled on home check my brakes constantly. this experience has my wife and i rattled. i took my car in on the 6th to topeka honda and explained what happened and that the car tried to kill me and my wife by trying to run us into a diesel truck and how it was braking on its own and the took and ...
