There where recalls awhile back. and one it had to do with the fuel system when i did the recall for it a year later i had the same issue took it to ford an they want me to pay over 500 for it when it was a recall the fuel light came on it says check fule inlet. it has disappeared now an the check engine light went away. there was a recall for the power steering. my steering wheel is locking it said that power steering locked. and they said that i cant do the recall. i have a 2011 ford fusion se. and the only recall they said was there was for the air bags. i want to know why i cant get these things fixed. i only have one car on a fixed income i own the car. an now i need answers
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford fusion. the contact stated that the check engine indicator illuminated. the contact inspected the vehicle himself and found fuel on the ground. the contact also discovered that the fuel tank was cracked and the canister purge valve failed. the contact mentioned that the fuel tank was capless. the manufacturer stated that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 15v793000 (fuel tank). the vehicle was not repaired. the dealer was not contacted. the failure mileage was 126,000.
The vehicle was in motion and check engine light came on. took to the dealership and they found a pinhole on the top of the fuel tank. there was a recall connection with a part causing the fuel tank to crack. however, i was made to pay for the repairs and ford will not reimburse me.
The throttle position sensor is showing signs of failing.
While driving, at posted speed, 40mph ....all at once, there was a complete loss of acceleration, a very rough idle to the engine and a wrench icon showed on the dash. i had to quickly pull off to the side of the road. i was able to turn the vehicle off and then when i started the vehicle again the problem seemed to reset and the wrench icon disappeared. i took the vehicle to local mechanic and their computer tools were not able to find anything wrong (codes with a diagnostic check). car seemed to run fine for approximately the next 500 miles and then, while driving on a busier road at 65 mph, the vehicle did the exact same thing, again causing me to need to avoid an accident and pull to the side of the road. i, once again, was able to reset the system by turning the vehicle off and back on. i am very concerned about the safety of this issue and feel that i am now limited only to local travel.
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford fusion. while operating the vehicle, the odor of fuel was present inside and outside the vehicle. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the fuel tank was cracked and caused fuel to leak from the vehicle. the mechanic stated that the fuel tank needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. harrison ford (820 n. main st, wellington, oh) and the manufacturer were notified of the failure and did not assist. the contact was informed that the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 15v793000 (fuel system), although the vehicle experienced the same failure listed in the recall. the failure mileage was 91,000.
Canister purge valve failure - check engine light came on while driving. error code p1450 displays now indicating there is a vacuum issue in my fuel tank we had the vehicle checked in april 2016 when the recall notice came out - the recall was closed with a computer module update to make check engine light come on if valve malfunctions - because there was no visible issue with the valve in 2016 ford will not honor the recall and fix the malfunctioning part at this time
For the last year experiencing progressively worsening drivability issues. the most concerning is steadily increasing throttle lag (time between applying more pressure to accelerator and vehicle responding), which i view as a safety issue. the vehicle does not respond appropriately when applying throttle, which may increase risk of accident b/c vehicle may not accelerate properly when needed either placing me at risk because it leaves me in the path of another vehicle or prevents my vehicle from expeditiously responding to avoid another vehicle.. secondarily vehicle now operating almost exclusively in gas power mode (worsening mpg efficiency) but also causing jerking/hesitation when transitioning between gas/ev modes. this powertrain was not designed to work in gas only but as a partnership between gas/ev, therefore in gas alone is not working properly. internet search reveals many other owners experience same problem. to dealer service x 3 - 1st 2 dealer said nothing wrong. finally given a ford service bulletin (attached) that ford is aware for at least 4 months and forbids service to the car! thus i have an unsafe vehicle that ford has no solution for repair for at least 4 months, and no indication of when this will be addressed.
Takata recall
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford fusion. while driving, the check engine warning indicator illuminated. the vehicle was driven to the contact's residence where it displayed code: p0455 (evap system leak detected). the vehicle was taken to marshal mize ford (located at 5348 tn-153, hixson, tn 37343, (423) 875-2023), but was not diagnosed or repaired. the contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired per nhtsa campaign number: 15v793000 (fuel system, gasoline); however, the repair did not correct the failure. the manufacturer was notified of the failure and did not assist. the approximate failure mileage was 200,000.
I was never contacted about any recalls. my mother contacted me through email to see if i knew about the airbag recall. 2 recalls i only learned about today by checking my credit report because the agency that holds the title reported my account for non-payment. i recieved a carfax report when i purchased the vehicle august 2017 from drivetime. i was told there were no recalls on the vehicle. now, i am seeing 4 recalls, 2 of which (2014 & 2016) have appeared only now that the vehicle is being serviced. i was probably the only idiot in america that would have bought the high-mileage, over-priced vehicle in the 1st place. i was told it had been a fleet vehicle for a rental car agency. i thought i was getting a safe vehicle. but my feeling now, is that it should have never been sold. i'm not sure what to do. the vehicle may get repossessed and i am feeling cheated. i sent the car to the 1st auto body shop and they wanted $1470 for all the repairs. i called ford motor company, they told me the car could get repaired free of charge at an authorized ford dealer. i had the car towed to the 2nd shop. the car has been at that dealership since february 1st. my estimate is about $260. i'm not sure what i'm expecting to happen, but i attached a photo of the fuel overflow hose leaking fuel even when the tank was not full. it would do this regularly and that is 1 of the 2 new recalls that appeared. i'm scared to drive this car. i just want some reliable answers and solutions before i shell out any further money on a car that has put me, my family and other people at risk. please help. thanks in advance.......
I been seeing that the gas in the car runs out so soon and i always wonder why , until one day i was fueling the car and i was standing next to it and i feel like something splashes my feet , so i checked under my car and there is the problem the gas tank is leaking, call the dealer to fix it and they said that i has to pay for it , l don't think is fair to pay for a manufactured issued , i did pay a lot of money for a supposed to be a good ,safe and reliable car that now has to many issues and recalls and they don't (ford),take responsibility about it. please help.
The cars p2119 and p2112 trouble lights and the wrench light keep appearing. the car suddenly loses power regardless of speed or location. my research indicates ford is aware of this problem however they only offered to fix it for 4 months. this vehicle was eligible and they will not repair it. i believe this is a huge safety issue. if my daughter had been driving she would have panicked and possibly put her life in danger
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford fusion. the contact stated that the fuel tank started to leak. the vehicle was taken to elder ford of tampa (9560 n florida ave, tampa fl 33612) where it was determined that nhtsa campaign number: 15v930000 (fuel system) no longer applied to the vehicle. the manufacturer was contacted and stated that the vehicle was pressure tested and found safe to drive, and also that the recall was removed. the vehicle was not repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 75,000.
Throttle body was under recall and was replaced in 2016, not even a year and half later my throttle body failed again. ford wont replace it under warranty for the year and half part, ford wont use my extended vehicle warranty and i continue to have the same problem over and over.
The fuel tank has a crack and is leaking, apparently this was a recall item on some ford fusion models but my vin number is not listed as one of those affected
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford fusion. the contact stated that the eps warning indicator illuminated within less than a month of owning the vehicle. the power steering ability failed to function each time the warning indicator flashed. the contact stated that it was extremely difficult to turn the steering wheel in either direction. in addition, the vehicle stalled more than once without warning. the vehicle had not been diagnosed by a dealer or an independent mechanic. the independent facility that sold the vehicle made no mention of it being included in nhtsa campaign numbers: 15v340000 (steering) and 15v793000 (fuel system, gasoline). the manufacturer was notified. the failure mileage was not available.
My power steering advancetrac went out while driving, my steering wheel locked on highway, in result i broke my front bumper and almost ended up in a accident due to a locked steering wheel. i turned in to ford for power steering recall and they wanted to charge me. i never had a thing like this before happen. i also have fuel inlet on fuel tank and i took in for recall and all the ford dealer did was set my car out in their parking lot and did nothing to fix it., even though it was under warranty. i was just getting into my car when i was at home about to leave to work when the message came across the dashboard.
Power steering assist fault pops up when car starts and steering wheel does not move
Takata recall i need an airbag replaced due to recall. i also need the throttle body replaced due to recall
Error code(s) p1450, p0456, ford fusion se 2011, 3.0l v6 (4 valve). my car was getting the error code p1450 (unable to bleed up fuel tank vacume) that would turn on the malfunction indicator light (mil) this would happen after the vehicle had been started for a short time.. this went on for a short time, i found that by using the gas funnel supplied with the car the vacume could be relieved and all was good for a few days. after about 3 or 4 times it stoped coming up. now ,1 year and a few days to the date, it's back and i'm getting the error code p0456 (evap emissions control system leak very small) with it.it means, in my case, that the evaporative emissions canister perge valve (cpv) has a small leak that is causing a vacume to develop in the fuel tank. if this happens enough times it can cause the fuel tank to develop a crack, this hasn't happened to my vehicle that i'm aware of yet (i'll be checking on that while i change the cpv),. and we all know that a leaking gasoline tank isn't a good thing in a lot of ways.
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford fusion. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign numbers: 15v340000 (steering), 15v793000 (fuel system, gasoline), and 16v384000 (air bags); however, the parts needed for the repair were not available. the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. the vehicle was taken to a local unknown dealer, but the parts were not available. the manufacturer was not notified. the contact had not experienced a failure. vin tool confirms parts not available for nhtsa campaign number: 16v384000 (air bags), and parts distribution disconnect for nhtsa campaign number: 15v793000 (fuel system, gasoline) and 15v340000 (steering).
I was driving on freeway when i noticed a odor for about five minutes before it got worse, once i pulled over to check it and let the windows down the oder got stronger. i've had this happened a couple of times but didn't think it was my car.
Check fuel fill inlet: the check fuel fill inlet warning has intermittently come on in my 2011 ford fusion sel for the last 6 months. i have completed the recommended steps to remedy the error by cleaning the area and blowing out any possible debris from the inlet. while driving today, the error message came back on. a few moments later when i was driving approximately 70 mph on the interstate with cruise control on, my vehicle suddenly revved up approximately 2000 rpm and stayed until i pulled off of the roadway. i shut the vehicle off and restarted and the error message is still present, but i haven't encountered the high revving again at this time. approximate mileage at time of issue - 115,760 location: i-70 in independence, mo
I was driving on a busy city street during rush hour when i noticed the car jerking when it changed gears. the rpm would shoot up high then back down while losing power to the vehicle. i managed to get to an auto advance store where i had a diagnostic done since my check engine light was on. the diagnostic came back with code po455 twice and po457 twice. it was then explained that too much air was getting into my fuel system. i proceeded to go to the ford dealership, which was a half mile away. on the way, my car continued to jerk and loose power and some points. then everything digital which one displays my mileage and the other displays how many mile till empty displayed intermittent lines and the wrench illuminated on my dashboard. at this time my car was on but quickly lost power to go forward. it almost got rear ended by the car behind me. i put on my turn signal and i coasted to the side of the road, turn off my car waited a few minutes the turned back on and put it in drive. the car would not move forward. the engine just revved up like i had it in neutral. i put it back in park then put it in reverse. the car would operate in reverse. had to have car towed to dealership. three months prior to this incident, i had to take my car to the dealership because of excessive battery acid on my positive terminal that had eaten through the wiring harness. had to have harness and battery replaced. i still notice issues of battery acid accumulating around the screws on the battery harness and positive lead again.
All of this is while the car is in motion on both on freeways and city streets. failure of the canister purge valve solenoid; engine light on due to bad filler inlet neck and had to replaced filler inlet; the vehicle needed the fuel filler tube replaced; emissions evaporation system error codes; "check fuel inlet" error keeps coming on. i've had to take my car in for repeated code failures related to the fill inlet. canister had to be replaced twice. firestone noticed several ford fusions with these similar problems. safety concerns regarding distraction from engine light (stopped on freeway because i was afraid to drive the car), and check fuel inlet errors were worrisome. i had to clean the filler inlet which didn't resolve the issues. i can't remember all the exact dates of when i had to take the car in for service.
When i put fuel in my car it starts to act janky not wanting to start or anything , also it's showing a recall on the vehicle
Code p0457 and p1450 keep coming up. the description is a fault with the fuel filler near the gas tank. a recall for the fuel gas tank filler was previously performed. is this part of this recall?
On-going issue with fuel fill inlet. inlet door does not close and seal properly which causes my engine light to come on and stay on. gas-capless system
Two codes keep coming up. p0457 and p1450. these are for the emissions evaporation system. the dealer has completed recall repair and claims it is ok.
I purchased a 2011 ford fusion on 12/14/16. it had a half tank of gas in it when i took delivery. i filled the tank on 12/15/16. after driving it, i noticed a strong smell of fuel for about the top 1/8 of the tank. due to a lot of snow and ice we have had, i have not been able to tell if there is actually any fuel leaking onto the ground but the odor is there once the car is parked after driving. there is a known recall of almost a half million 2010/2011 ford fusions and mercury milans for this exact problem. my vehicle was manufactured within the dates of the recalled vehicles. i contacted ford and they stated that my vehicle is not part of this recall. they are not willing to assist me with diagnostic testing or repair at this time. they informed me that i should file a complaint regarding my situation with nhtsa. i would greatly appreciate any assistance you could offer with having my vehicle included as part of this recall. i have two young children and need a safe vehicle to be able to transport them in daily. i do not feel this vehicle is safe for them to travel in and i do not have cash readily available for this very expensive replacement of the fuel system that should be covered under a known recall. *tr
6 months old car had transmition and electrical problems, driver door lock not opening, ac went out! air bags sensor out, and now experiencing 2nd transmition issue. dealership is not taking full responsibility for it, as transmition was replaced at another garage! have been dealing with this car since 2012. hard jerking.
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford fusion. while driving approximately 55 mph, the inlet fuel warning indicator inadvertently illuminated. in addition, while making turns, the steering wheel seized and the power steering warning indicator illuminated. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer and previously repaired per nhtsa campaign number: 15v793000 (fuel system, gasoline); however, the failure recurred. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 90,904.
Nov. 13, 2016 i filled the tank with gas. when i got home the tank was leaking profusely. the next morning i dropped it off to a chain auto shop. they were able to determine there was a leak in the fuel assembly and also reported the vehicle was under recall that i should take to ford dealer. i researched the recall 15s34 that was issued feb 4, 2016 but my particular vehicle had been "closed out". the dealer in michigan looked at the car 24 days after the recall was issued and determined there were no issues. they reprogrammed the pcm on feb 29th. the new patch wasn't released until the 1st quarter (no date). however, 8 months later - the fuel tank is exhibiting symptoms consistent with the recall. i also noticed previously that when i filled up, the car didn't turn over right away. ford refuses to take care of the fuel tank and reopen the recall on my vehicle. ford's automated phone system for recall - 15s34 specifically mentions that "the cpv may develop an internal leak which under certain circumstances allow excessive vacuum to build in the fuel tank. repeated cycles of this condition will eventually cause a crack to develop. the letter from michael berardi also states that "interm repairs for these vehicles ("claims will not close 15s34") why is my car not being taken care of by ford? the local dealer where it was purchased is not willing to help out either.
Car keeps stalling during acceleration. engine code p2111
The purge canister valve has been replaced, but the fuel smell still remains while it is stationary and running.
Csp 13n03 as previously reported etb problems caused my car to abruptly drop power/rpm to ~1000rpm. later identified issue to be related to etb and took to my ford dealer expecting new software and/or etb replacement per 13n03. dealer replaced but then begged off requesting i pay warranty repair cost of $122 because "manual transmission" vehicles and those not assembled in mexico were not covered. i am absolutely certain that my issue was exactly that covered by 13n03 and feel that having the power loss "limp mode" occur in a manual transmission vehicle actually put me at more risk because of the greater speed loss due to the direct connected drive path. luckily it was late at night on a less traveled road allowing me to coast off safely onto the shoulder. i paid the $122 since they had already done the work before realizing that my car was not covered, and the throttle body alone would have cost me $75+, but i cannot understand how this is not a full-fledged recall and doesn't cover every vehicle with this type of etb? all this because of what sounds like incorrect/insufficient motor connection plating and/or bulb grease (contact enhancer)
In the last 24 hours my vehicle stalled on the freeway (i was almost rear-ended--this highway has a curb on both sides instead of shoulders) 4 times in 5 miles. the first time was as i was turning onto the highway from an intersection. each time, i was unable to accelerate the car with the gas pedal. each time, this was preceded by a lurching forward and a sluggish performance of the engine for about 1 second before the engine no longer powers the wheels. the wrench light comes on and i have to turn the car off and then turn it back on in order to be able to accelerate again. as i said, when i would accelerate, the engine would die, and this happened four times. when i restart the car, but before it dies again, the check engine light comes on. this is an issue with other 2011 ford fusions that the nhtsa has already investigated--the throttle body is defective. however, somehow the nhtsa let ford off the hook and didn't recall the part and allowed ford to only apply the "customer satisfaction program 13n03" to cars with automatic transmissions. i have a manual transmission car. i will tell you that exactly what happened in cars that initiated the investigation and this program is exactly what is happening in my car. the investigation needs to be reopened and this throttle body needs to be recalled for all transmission types. i was almost rear-ended by a car going 55 mph, even though i had my 4-way flashers on in the right lane, because the highway my car died on a does not have shoulders. this defective part is an extreme safety hazard and needs to be recalled!!
I have a recall on my car for the fuel tank and there is no fix at this time. i need to get my tags on my car by november and dont know if i will be able to.
2011 ford fusion se (bought at doug cheverolet 3 months ago)cut out 3 times today l'm scared .pulled car over thank god not on highway turned off started up went 5 miles did it again 2 more times .is there a recall on this system?have an appt.with mechanic tommorrow have read about throttle body problems has 93,000 miles on it.
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford fusion. the contact stated that the vehicle stalled more than four times after the warning indicator wrench illuminated. the vehicle was taken to a mechanic who diagnosed that the fuel throttle body needed to be replaced. the vehicle was also taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. the vin was included in nhtsa campaign numbers: 15v793000 (fuel system, gasoline) and 15v340000 (steering). the manufacturer was notified. the approximate failure mileage was 93,545. vin tool confirms parts not available. parts distribution disconnect.
Wrench light comes when trying to accelerate. car stumbles and loses power. turn car off and wrench light disappears. according to various web sites error code is not stored when the car is turned off. this has happened about 3 times in the last 2 wks. web sites say that the throttle body is bad.
Tl* takata recall. the contact owns a 2011 ford fusion. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign numbers: 16v384000 (air bags) and 15v793000 (fuel system, gasoline). the part was not available within a reasonable time frame to schedule the recall repair. the dealer (mac haik's southway ford, 7979 interstate 35 access rd, san antonio, tx 78224, (210) 922-2222) did not give a specific date for when the part would become available. the manufacturer was notified. the contact was not experiencing a failure. vin tool confirms parts not available. parts distribution disconnect. updated 11/01/17*lj *js
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford fusion. the contact stated that the malfunction warning indicator illuminated. prior to the failure, the vehicle was inspected per nhtsa campaign number: 15v793000 (fuel system, gasoline) and passed. the vehicle was returned to the dealer where it was inspected again; however, the dealer diagnosed that the vehicle needed a fuel filler tube. the vehicle was taken to another dealer where it was diagnosed that the canister purge valve needed to be replaced. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 70,286.
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford fusion. after receiving a recall notice for nhtsa campaign number: 15v793000 (fuel system). the vehicle was repaired on may 18, 2016. shortly afterwards, the engine malfunction light illuminated, the odor of fuel was present, and fuel was visible near the vehicle. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the purge valves were faulty. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 72,000. updated 09/28/16*lj
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford fusion. the contact stated that the fuel malfunction warning indicator remained illuminated for an extended period of time. the contact later received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 15v793000 (fuel system, gasoline). the vehicle was repaired by the dealer, but the warning indicator continued to remain illuminated for months. the vehicle was taken to a second dealer and repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 60,000.
My son and his new family were going across a major intersection when the car just died. they were almost hit by other cars. they coasted across the intersection, then shut the car off then restarted it it drove for a few feet then died again. my son pulled to the side of the road. there was also two children in the car, 3 year old and 2 month old. i had it towed to a dealer. they told me it was the throttle body that failed. then i did research and found this was a common problem for this car,and that many people were also involved in near misses and or accident.
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford fusion. the contact stated that the check engine warning indicator illuminated. the vehicle was taken to the independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the purge valve canister failed. the vehicle was taken back to the dealer and they stated that they fulfilled their responsibility for the recall. the vehicle was returned to the mechanic and repaired. one month prior to the failure, the vehicle was taken to the dealer to be remedied per nhtsa campaign number: 15v793000 (fuel system, gasoline). the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 125,000. updated 07/14/16*lj *cn
Had been having issues with my 2011 ford fusion since early 2015. each time i put fuel into the vehicle, the vehicle wouldn't start ' similar to what happens when engine is flooded. thought it was bad fuel. ran the fuel tank to nearly empty and refueled. same issue every time i refuel. made sure there was nothing blocking the fuel filler cap/flap. check engine light would go on and off and then stayed on. in sept 2015, took vehicle to a certified mechanic and the error codes (po456 and po104) indicated a problem with the fuel/propulsion system. replaced purge solenoid. did not fix the problem. received recall notice 15s34 in january 2016 related to a defect/safety issue with the fuel system & fuel tank. march 2016 (engine light still on) took vehicle to ford dealer and explained the problems i've been having and provided bill from mechanic and documentation found of other ford owners having the same issues. dealer inspected vehicle & said everything was fine except that i have a leak in my fuel filler neck which is not part of the recall, but they could replace 'for about $250 or so'. how is it that this not included in the recall? fuel and fumes leaking from the filler neck are as dangerous as cracks and leaks in the tank. did some research and this seems to be a common problem that ford has been made aware of. there is no reasonable explanation as to how i would have cracked the fuel filler neck. the car only has approx. 66k miles on it, was bought brand new in 2010, is regularly serviced and has never been misused. contacted ford and was advised that they would "note" my safety concerns in their case (cas-9098523). nhtsa needs to look into this and force ford to take corrective measures.
After many failed temps from ford for my body throttle issues & fords dealer refusal to replace the throttle body, bc the code isn't present when they hook up they're device to it(ford rules). even though is known with ford they code will clear when the car is turned off or in my case sometimes shut off by itself when the wrench light appears.06/02/15ford dealer did a pcm update for the t.body & was good to go. less than a month later issues started again. it has happened countless of times with my bf & w.my kids in the car. i called davidson ford & spoke to the manger where he stated not to shut the car off so the code doesnt clear & i asked if the tow guy would leave the car on to bring it here. he goes well no! they weren't of help ever.on 03/07/16 heading home my car went in limp mode & steering went stiff. i couldnt control the car & ended up hitting a guard rail.my car got damage & hurt my back.the officer stated i was lucky bc 20 more ft i would of hit the telephone pole. the tow truck guy also stated the car wasn't safe to drive.the nxt day my bf called ford(who open a case)& state farm our insur.co. we went to n.side collison were we explained the situation & recalls on my car.he said he would try & talk to ford to see what he could do. he couldn't do anything & we had to deal with ford.this collison center was on a time frame & real pushy.so i had the car transferred to alan buyer collison center who works w. my insur. & ford. we've played phone tag with ford csd. the claim was sent to fords legal general council whose supposed to handle the case & had 15 business to respond. they haven't responded or try to make contact with us!i was also told by fords csd not to have the collison center do anything till we hear from the legal counsel. my car has been at the c.c 62+days untouched. i upload letter i sent to ford company.
