Problems with 2010 Ford Escape FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

On average, the 2010 Ford Escape starts to “feel” problems with the FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM and its various aspects after 61 712 miles.

Recently reported FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM problems on 2010 Ford Escape

Fuel leaking entire fuel system needs to be replaced fuel neck broke.

Fuel inlet light fuel filler neck defective causing a gas leak can not pump gas

Fuel pump cracked (part #pfs534) in 2010 ford escape hybrid 2.5l engine similar to recall on other ford escapes with 3.0l engine. cracked fuel pump caused vapor leak engine light. vehicle would still operate but strong fuel smell was coming from the fuel tank area and within the vehicle. i was surprised that the recall only impacted 3.0l engine fuel pump and not other ford escapes, especially when it seems like they are having the same problem and likely have a very similar part.

While driving in a variety of circumstances, (in town at stoplight and accelerating on highway) my 2010 ford escape will just shut off. no warning, just dies. i have been to 4 mechanics including one at a ford dealer just today. no codes show, so every time i am basically told that they "can't duplicate issue" and i am sent on my way with no remedy for what is a very dangerous malfunction. i just called ford and started a case number to see what they will do. judging from other comments i have read on internet, i am not hopeful. i cannot understand why a recall wasn't issued and how i am just learning about the scope of the problem now-after spending $20k on this vehicle.

Replace evaporative emissions

According to your vin search, my particular vehicle was not a part of the 5 recalls on the year, make and model of my vehicle. now with that said, 1 recall that is listed, i am having a fuel leak just as it is described but again my vin is not listed for that recall and it should. everytime i fill up with gas, and the gas handle clicks to inform that the tank is full, the gas starts to leak very badly from up underneath and this happens everytime.

The vehicle flex fuel system is horrible and the vehicle shuts off for no apparent reason. we have have had the vehicle inspected and reviewed by mechanics, who come back with one issue, the flex fuel set up. so we ordered and replaced the flex fuel pipe 2 times now. the engine light still continues to pop back on after a couple of days go by. the car shutting off while driving is a safety issue. this vehicle was purchased for my 16 year old daughter from a dealership less than a year ago. i am scared to death she will crash when the vehicle shuts off on the interstate. the 2011 recall ford issued covered the same type of issue, which in my opinion should be expanded. my daughter just called and stated that the car shut off 5 times in the course of a mile. luckily, she was local.

When the vehicle comes to a stop whether it be a stop sign or red light, the rpm's over rev higher at the time of leaving from a stop when gas is given to vehicle. after the vehicle gets back up to speed the rpm's drop back to a normal range.

My engine locked oil leaking battery dies air bag light comes on suv shakes rear windshield whippers drain battery constant jumps and road side assistance.

The "check fuel fill inlet" came on a couple of miles after filling gas and stayed on. after a few more miles, the engine light came on and stayed on ever since. i have had the same problem 4 months ago, but my mechanic said it is a malfunction in the computer so we replaced the computer. but the problem came back. i have looked online for solutions and it seems many other ford escape users have had the same problem.

Fuel leak between the tank and end of the fuel filler. vehicle is parked and leaking. i noticed it because you can see the fuel on the floor and strong fuel odor even in the driveway not to mention if you have it in your garage.

There is a small gas leak every time i fill my tank up full. the odor is potent and i feel like my safety is at risk whenever i fill my tank up. i smell it while the vehicle is stationary

My car suddenly loses power while driving. check engine light came on, with codes p2112, p0443, and c1963. the issue(s) seem to happen while i am driving at 55mpg or higher. this has occurred both on the interstate as well as back roads where the speed limit is 55. the most recent time this happened was a period starting on 06/04/2018 through 06/05/2018. this happened 5 times during this period, but has also happened several times since december 2017 as well.

Brandon ford in brandon florida states "ford has not yet released the parts to fix safety recall 16s41 / nhtsa recall 16v-777" for my 2010 ford escape. brandon ford service department in brandon florida states "ford will contact you when parts are available."

Recall 16v-777 i received a letter from ford in january 2018 stating that parts were available for the vehicle to be fixed. i immediately called my local ford dealer - gibbons ford and was put on the waiting list since they didn't have the parts. it is now april and the dealer has only received three of the parts to date to fix this problem. i called ford customer sevice and was given a case number cas14605645. i was told this would be elevated to their management, but i think four months is extremely long time to effect a recall. the vehicle smells like gas and i'm hesitant to drive it due to the increased risk of fire. i basically have a vehicle i can't drive waiting on ford to get parts to the dealership. any pressure that can be put on ford to get the parts to the dealership would be greatly appreciated.

Reference to nhtsa safety recall 16v-777 i have been unable to get my car in for this recall. i have made two appointments with my local ford dealer(hinesville, georgia) and both have been cancelled. the say part/s are backordered and do not know when they will be available. even though as of yet i am having no issues i feel unsafe riding in a car whose fuel system may leak and possible ignite. not sure anything can be done but thought it was important to document my efforts just in case.

Air conditioning does not work and radiator fan running constantly and loudly sounding as if it will blow up. the air conditioning system parts have been replaced as have the radiator fan relay switch. the issues are re-occuring again. ford dealerships claim they have no knowledge of this problem or of a fix, although there are many similar complaints online. theses issues appear somehow to be related because when the rad fan is on high, soon after the air conditioning unit dumps the coolant. i just had a 5,000 mile oil change and inspection and the coolant was said to have been filthy, but it had just been replaced in early july 2017, when the air conditioning unit dumped it. the air conditioning is not working and the rad fan is running on high all the time.

I have gotten a recall 16v-777, 16s41/nhtsa. i had taken my car in for oil and they checked the recall, they told me my test failed and would need to replace the parts. i had to take it back. so soon as i turned off my car after i left there. i had a problem restarting it. i called them and they told me to wait a few days, that there maybe air in the line. it had gotten worse. went back in for repair. it was good for a few days and now i am having the same problem with it restarting. i went to a different ford garage. they told me they won't touch it because a different garage did the work. at this point i have not been back to the garage that did the work yet. i was not having any problems before the repair was done. so the only problem i have is it when i am trying to start my escape.

Nhtsa recall 16v777 & ford motor company recall 16s41 were released in october of 2016. why did we not receive a recall notice on this vehicle & now in october of 2017 we are having difficulty getting this repaired. why are ford dealerships not aware of this recall & do not have parts in stock? we took the vehicle to a ford dealership & was told this is a brand new recall. one year later????? sounds very fishy to me. someone in authority should look into this. we can not even park the vehicle in our garage due to the gas leak & smell.
