Stability light comes on and off and also fuel level sensor light constanly up and down with the level of fuel causing service engine light to come on
I have a 2006 chevy trailblazer with only a little over 80,000 miles on it. i have been having issues with the stabilitrak system. i will get read outs about the stabilitrak needs to be serviced or the stabilitrak has kicked in when it hasn't. the stabilitrak will try to in gauge for no apparent reason when appling the brakes. it happens when i am backing out of my driveway, coming to a stop or just applying the brakes to slow down. it happens on all type of road surfaces. this happens when it is bright and sunny outside, on dry roads, highways, streets, dirt roads and day or night. it does it at fast speeds and very low speeds. it makes a strange noise when this happens however the stabilitrak doesn't fully in gauge. the repair shop looked at it and told me that they think the computer modal is not communicating with the stabilitrak system. this started a few weeks ago. so i'm not sure how this will affect the brakes when driving on the snow and icy roads. i have seen other complaints on the same type of issues.
Headlamp driver module not working right. headlights go out while driving. just started happening. chevy said will not pay for as it is past the july 29 expiration. i was driving down the highway at night. headlights went completely out. very scary. they said i will have to pay to have it fixed as it is no longer their problem. this happened to me a few years ago with the fuel gauge. it shows i have no gas in my car when i actually have full tank. never had it fixed because it costs too much and chevy said past expiration date.
The low beam headlights (both left and right) will stop working without warning while driving at night. if the vehicle is turned off and restarted after a period of time has elapsed, the low beams will start working again. all the other lights work and the dash lights continue to work. this typically happens when driving both on city streets and the highway.

While i was driving at night my head lights went off and wouldn't come back on until about 30 minutes. neither the bright or deam lights would work.
When the vehicle is filled with a full tank of fuel, the gas gauge reads empty and the fuel warning light sounds. once the fuel level drops to approximately 1/2 a tank, the gauge will resume normal operation. this happens no matter whether the vehicle is in motion or is stationary.

On 7/9/15 i brought my 2006 chevy trailblazer (purchased used in october of 2013) to my mechanic at midas muffler in bangor due to an issue i was having for the last few months regarding the electric window/door lock on the drivers side whereas i have been intermittently unable to roll my windows up or down and i have been locked in my vehicle and unable to get out three times. they removed the door panel and found that water had been leaking into the door and caused corrosion to the module that controls these functions. i was told there had been a recall for this issue. they had called the local chevy dealership who told them that the recall on this vehicle had been fulfilled in august of 2013. on 7/13/15, i called gm to inquire regarding this recall since when the recall was issued, it stated that "parts for the remedy are not currently available." i have not received any letter stating that parts are now available it is, in my opinion, that the "fix" that was done in august 2013 did not "fix" the issue and this has caused the same problem to reoccur. gm told me that the fix would be my financial responsibility. the recall notice on your website also states, "vehicles whose modules were modified but not replaced as a part of the previous recall remedy must have their vehicles remedied again under this campaign." i am not sure whether or not the module was replaced in august 2013 as i did not own the vehicle at that time, however, i do feel that the remedy that was done on that date did not fix the leakage issue and therefore gm should be responsible for replacing the module now and also fixing the leakage issue so this does not occur again. this is a safety issue as i have been locked in and unable to get out of my vehicle three times already, and also, according to the original recall, this can be a fire hazard

We were traveling from spokane, wa to portland, or, when we got to richland, wa the check engine light came on. we stopped and scanned the computer and gave us a code for a faulty pedal sensor. we erased the code and turned the trailblazer on and it came back on in about 10 minutes. we read online that other people that have trailblazer ss are having this issues and there was a recall on the sensor and they are getting theirs replaced. i talked to autonation chevrolet and camp chevrolet here in spokane, wa and they both have heard of the recall and the issue but since it won't show up under my vin number they will not honor the recall. they won't 100 to 150 to diagnose when it took me 5 seconds and they want us to pay about 600+ dollars for an repair that should be free. i read about the sensor and our truck is doing everything it says it will do. when you are at a light and go to push the gas pedal it boggs down like about to die then lunges forward and shifting hard between gear 1 or 2. can someone please help us with this and help us get the dealership to work with us. if we continue to drive it an accident could happen any moment. this is a huge hazard!!! *tr

The drivers side low beam headlight was not working. when my dad opened the hood there was an aroma of burning wire. my dad removed the rubber cap for the low beam headlight and found the plastic electrical connector to the low beam bulb was burnt and charred. my dad removed the connector in order to avoid a fire. i contacted gm customer service and they informed me that there was not a current recall for my vin number and that i would have to take it to a dealer for repair. i contacted a dealer and they informed me that the repair could run hundreds of dollars and they could not confirm that the problem would not happen again. *tr

The problem started on wednesday january 21, 2015; i started my car up to let it warm up while i dusted off the snow. i notice my heated seats were not working. i turned the car off and restarted it. as soon as i restarted it the car began to backfire and stale. it would start but then stale out. i had to get the trucked towed to the local mechanic. i pick up my truck that evening and it ran fine. the next morning thursday january 22, i got in my truck and it started right up. however, every stop i came to the truck just shut off. i restarted it and then would just shut off at the next stop. the engine light did not come on until i was drive to the mechanic. again that evening i picked up my truck and everything was fine. friday january 23, i was driving my 7 year old to school and the car just shut off while i was driving down a steep hill. i had no brakes or steering. this happened 3 times. i again took my car to the mechanic. he kept my car for 4 day. i finally picked it up yesterday january 24 and it is still not fixed. my mechanic said he is stumped. it drove great after picking it up. then this morning january 25, as i was taking my daughter to school, my car shut off 3 time while i was driving down two hills. then it staled 2 more times while i was a red lights. i nearly missed two accidents. by doing research online i found hundreds upon hundreds of complaints from people having the same issue. i call the local chevy mechanic and he said this is an known problem. i called chevy directly and they too are aware of the problem and number of complaints. i even found complaints on this very site. i'm just curious if someone has to die before this problem gets fixed. i have a recall on my drivers door for a part that catches fire, but no recall for the truck just shutting off when in motion. doesn't make sense to me. *tr

(on or about jan 9, 2015) upon driving at approximately 40 mph, the 2006 trailblazer stalled. i was very fortunate that no car was behind me since it was a two lane highway, and i surely would have been rear ended. at that time the passlock light lit on the dashboard. i immediately put the car in park and it started. (again on feb 4, 2015) driving on a three lane highway and traveling at approximately 25 mph (intending to turn left in a approx 50 yards) in the middle lane, the trailblazer stalled. again the passlock light lit on the dashboard, i again quickly put the car in park and it started. again we were fortunate not to have a car directly behind us, or we would have surely been rear ended! *tr

On tuesday, october 21, 2014, at approximately 11:30 a.m. while my husband and i were driving on the west side of the standing rock sioux reservation my 2006 trailblazer ext caught on fire. we both smelled smoke, parked (didn't turn off the ignition) and flames began to shoot out from underneath the front driver's side of the vehicle. we got out and ran to the west side of the roadway as the fire engulfed the entire front motor area. my purse was still in the burning vehicle and i told my husband he ran back to the burning vehicle to retrieve it. he sustained burns to his hands, face, legs and feet. in addition he received smoke inhalation to a degree of a "black out" stage. we witnessed the tires burn up one after another, beginning with the front driver's side, then the passenger side, the rear driver's and the passenger's side - at this point we moved further away from the burning vehicle as we expected the car to explode once it reached the gas tank area, but somehow the gas tank didn't explode. in fact, the spare tire which sits underneath the gas tank received a slight singe and did not burn (along with the gas tank). the only warning we had was the "smell of smoke" - the trailblazer's dash warning light did not appear to indicate anything was wrong. in addition, on or about october 25, 2014, another trailblazer (same area) also burnt up (as reported by bureau of land management). *tr
My door module went bad. the part has a recall, the manufacture doesn't have a fix. the manufacture wants me to pay for another defective part. then reimburse me when they have the fix. i couldn't make sense of this since the part is under recall just swap it out for another defective part. when ever they have a fix let me know i will take my vehicle. why pay for something that has a recall. if your going to reimburse me anyway! i will like to keep my 500+ and not wait for gm to pay me back. plus they want to pay a diagnostic fee when i told them what the problem is. *tr
While driving down the road my headlights would go out. we put a new fuse in that has helped for a while. now about 2 months ago i shut my car off and opened the doorthe radio would not shut off so i turned my car on and back off it went off that time. i took my daughter into dance went out to get something out of my car and my headlights were still on. so i turned my car on and off looked still on so i went back to watch my daughters dance. after another hour it was time to go home walked outside headlights were still on. got home my husband looked at it and tried turning them off nothing would turn them off. so he pulled the fuses he said the relay was so hot he couldn't even touch it. so i have no dim lights unless i carry fuses with me to out in and take out or i just can't drive it at night.
This complaint involves the rear liftgate wiper not functioning. it first started by running slower and slower, then finally stopped functioning completely. i have replaced it twice now, and both times the wiper motor would function for a very brief time, the first time around it didn't last for 36 hours before ceasing to function again. i have been to numerous forums to research this problem, such as trailvoy.com, and it is quite apparent to me that this is a widespread issue, with little hope of an easy repair. it appears the suspect part, the lgm, can't be ordered or replaced by the common man, and many of us do not have the financial resources to continually be taking the vehicles to the service bay of our local chevy, gm or buick dealer. this is a safety issue for many reasons, but particularly for those of us who live in a rural environment of dirt/gravel roads as the draft at the rear of the vehicle always causes the lift glass to become soiled, reducing visibility to near zero at times, which makes for less safety when changing lanes, backing up and so on. additionally, there has been no solution issued yet for the flickering headlight issue that a recall was issued for last year for these vehicles. this is becoming maddening, it has been far too long. apparently none of the higher ups at gm live in regions where there is a substantial deer population. thankfully i have yet to hit one. it would seem to me that this problem is given very little attention by gm.
