This complaint is in reference to the toyota recall described below (per http://www.toyota.com/recall). the recall date was june 16, 2015 (today's date is 08 september 2015) and toyota has failed to remedy the defect within a reasonable time because the remedy parts are still not available for my vin. description the subject vehicles are equipped with front passenger air bag inflators which may have been manufactured in such a way as to have a potential for the intrusion of moisture over time. depending on the circumstances, this could create excessive internal pressure when the air bag is deployed and cause the inflator to rupture. in the event of an inflator rupture, metal fragments could pass through the air bag cushion material, striking and potentially seriously injuring the vehicle occupants in a crash. remedy toyota is currently working on obtaining the remedy parts for subsequent phases of this safety recall. additional information will be provided as remedy parts become available. when parts are available, toyota dealers are requested to replace the airbag inflator module at no charge to the vehicle owner.

Takata recall: i received a notification 6 months ago that no passengers could safely sit in my front passenger seat as a result of the takata recall. since then, my passengers have been on several uncomfortable long, 5+ hour frequent trips, or i have been unable to use my car for those trips. after 6 months, i still have not received notification that the parts can be fixed. since i live in a busy city and would typically ride with passengers, my car has become unsafe and useless for anything other than occasional lone trips. i am shocked that no other remedy has been offered to help those impacted by the takata recall. *js

Takata recall: i received my only notification from toyota the safety recall notice in late june early july 2015 regarding the inflator problem with my vehicle. from my understanding, the issue is caused by intrusion of moisture into the inflator system of the passenger airbag that causes the inflator to explode if the airbag is deployed. this explosion has been linked to many cases of serious injury and/or death. the notice informed me i would receive another notification when parts were available in my area to have the replacement conducted. it is now february 20, 2016 and in 8 months i have not received any more information regarding this serious life threatening issue. from the information i have found online, the parts should have started to be available in oregon in september 2015, that was 5 months ago and i have yet to hear any information on when i can expect this issue to be resolved. in the notice it asked to not have anyone sit in the passenger seat of the vehicle until repairs can be made. i understand this is a safety precaution, however, after 8 months and counting it has become quite an inconvenience. furthermore, i live in portland, or and it is very humid/moist in this region of the country. this causes even more concern to me that this issue is not being resolved in a time sensitive manner. my complaint is that i have not received timely notice or information regarding when parts would be available in my region of the country and after 8 months, i am requesting someone contact me with more information that can help me resolve this serious problem with my vehicle in the very near future. thank you for your attention to this matter.
Takata recall it's been one year since my car has been placed on the recall list (6-15-2015). close to one year since i got the remedy notice (6-1-2016). acted quickly to the notice. (made a appointment on the website with one dealership on (6-2-16) for work to be done on (6-11-16) found out that day the part still needs to be ordered.) nowhere in the remedy notice informed me the part still need to be ordered. it said "toyota has completed parts preparation for my vehicle in my geographic are" and i'm still waiting. called toyota twice now, first time (6-11-16) they said one to two weeks before the part is in. it's now been three weeks, no call from toyota, i called on (6-28-16) and was told another two weeks before they get the part. toyota knowing my car was defected since june 15, 2015. this should have been taken care of by now! i'm still waiting for the part and i can't sell it! im driving a ticking time air bag bomb and toyota wants me to wait even longer? am i waiting for this to go off before something is done? hope the metal fragments don't fly in the back seat where my dog is! or fly side ways and hit me when i'm driving! it's already inconvenience i can't have a passenger in the front.

Received a recall notice in june 2015 stating that their is a problem with the airbag inflator module. it is now october 2015 and have heard nothing else. it states to not use my front passenger seat until the problem is fixed. that is not possible with me since i am a single mom with four kids one has to sit upfront. i believe this should have been found much sooner as should be fixed by now. i am putting my kids in risk every time i have to put one of them in the front seat when we have somewhere to go. i think toyota should be doing more to fix this problem and faster.

There has been no remedy to this safety recall issue for several months, and i do not believe toyota has failed to remedy the defect within a reasonable time. i am submitting a complaint against toyota. the safety recall is concerning passenger airbag defects that could potentially be fatal.
