I have been contacting the toyota dealer since july 21, 2015 to replace the passengers airbag. i am told parts are not available- yet they send out these scary letters for us to call and make an appointment to replace them or we will be responsible for the consequences. i have made three calls to the dealer. my last call was on august 15, 2015. i was basically told- don't call us. we will call you when parts are available. this is unacceptable. a recall shouldn't have been sent out until parts were made available.

On thursday july 16 2015, i received a recall notice in the mail for my 2005 corolla. it states the malfunction of the airbags and strongly recommends that no one occupies the passenger seat so that if for some reason the airbags deploy, it could lead to serious injury or death. while looking up information about this recall, i found that it originally was recalled on may 13th 2015, two months before i received mine in the mail. i cannot believe that toyota would wait that long to inform its drivers. on top of this, i made an appointment to have it fixed, only to be told today that toyota is only sending the parts to the dealerships in small increments. my complain only entails that toyota is not taking care of this problem in a timely manner. thank you

I received a notice months ago from toyota that the front passenger air bag inflator module is defective. they stated that a passenger should not ride in the car until the defect is fixed. it has been months and they still do not have the parts to fix this issue. this is ridiculous that they can't immediately fix this issue.

Takata recall- we received the notice for the recall and called our local toyota dealer. they informed us that we would be contacted when parts came in. a few months later, we received a notice indicating that parts had been manufactured for our location. we called again and were told that they didn't have the parts and that a supervisor would call us back. we never received a call back. we called back again a few months later and were told the same exact thing, including that we would get a call back from the supervisor. we received no call back. we called one last time (after battling with this for over a year), and were told the exact same thing. we even said, "can you please make sure he actually calls us back this time? we have been promised many calls back before and never gotten them." well, no call back! in the meantime, we have to avoid traveling with passengers which is a massive inconvenience, especially with two busy children. we had this same recall with our honda and it was completely solved within 6 months.

I haven't been able carry a front passenger in my vehicle since i was first notified of the recall in june. it is very inconvenient and i just want it fixed as as soon as possible.
