Takata recall - i purchased the car in july 2015 and was informed that there was a recall on the takata inflator for my car. i took it to daytona toyota in daytona beach, florida to have another recall on the car remedied. they told me they would be calling me when they had the inflator module part in for my car. over the next several months they called me when the part came in and each time i was sent home because it turns out they did not have the part after all. i filed a complaint on their facebook page and the customer service manager contacted me via the telephone. he told me that there was no such part or recall for my car. i trusted him, removed the complaint and have been driving my vehicle ever since. however, i am seriously concerned he lied to me just to get me to delete my complaint. i am now afraid for my safety and unsure if there is truly a recall on my car. i have a toyota corolla s 2005. dealer reference id: dsf and nhtsa recall id: 15v285

Safety recall notice has been received months for front passenger airbag inflator module. after calling the dealer, the toyota customer experience center, and manufacturer, the statement were given as of 'the parts needed to repair the vehicle were still not available and no estimated time for receiving the parts could be given.' like to mark my complaint that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for repair. the manufacturer seems that totally not aware the importance of the issue. toyota put our lives in danger.

Airbag light keeps stay on when driving, regardless of where to drive. having the vehicle checked at toyota dealer in concord, ca. they found spiral cable, located on or at steering column, defective. and if left unfixed, according to my understanding, the airbag on driver side potentially unexpected deployed or wont deploy at all at time of accident. this is a scary safety concern to me, costly but it need to be fixed as soon as possible. hope toyota will cover or share the cost with me, ~$500 at estimate.

I am still waiting to have my front airbags replaced by toyota. they are a danger to myself and any passenger that rides with me in the front seat. my friend who has a honda had hers replaced two months ago. why is the nhtsa allowing toyota to take so long to fix this problem when you know it is life threatening and dangerous issue. please put pressure on toyota to fix my car and others' like me who are in the same situation. thank you *tr

The light for the air bags reads off and there's a red light on my dash stays on indicating the air bags. there is no passenger or anything heavy in the passenger seat. this just started thurs. oct. 22, 2025. normally when the light goes on there is noise that goes off until i remove the heavy item from the passenger seat. this is scary. this happened around 5:15 in the evening after i started my vehicle after it had been parked @ 3 hours. i noticed the air bags light was off and the red light on. i had pulled out from the curb and i thought a door was open. so i stopped to check and it was not.

Takata passenger air bag recall. notified late july/early august and as of 10/21/2015, the repair parts are still "not available in my area." this seems to be taking excessively long. i can't allow anyone to occupy my front passenger seat.

After five phone calls i finally got an appointment for the recall. my car sat with the hood up from 11:00am to 3:00pm for me to be told they can't get the airbag light off. i was told i need to purchase an airbag cable for $485.99 + tax.

I received a letter in the mail that toyota has decided that a defect which relates to my car model and year exists, in accordance with the national traffic and motor vehicle safety act. "the subject vehicles are equipped with front passenger air bag inflators which may have been manufactured in such a way as to have a potential for the intrusion of moisture over time. .... in the event of an inflator rupture, metal fragments could pass through the air bag cushion material, striking the vehicles occupants potentially resulting in serious injury or death. i should not ride with any passengers until this matter is addressed further" unfortunately i live in atlantic city, which has one of the highest humidity levels for a city in the united states. this scares me as i have a wife and 3 children, and not being able to drive my family in this car is just not an option. i spoke to toyota and they are refusing to act on this matter and just say that "i am in phase 1 and until this matter reaches phase 2, nothing can be done"

Sept 3rd at 9:42 a.m. i called universal toyota's service department to set up an appointment to have my vehicle serviced due to a recall i heard about on the radio and confirmed through the recall website. the female who answered stated that they couldn't set up an appointment because they had to order the part but they will call me in a couple of days. sept 5th at 12:26 p.m. i called again to check on the progress of the order and the same female answered and stated that it will take a couple of weeks, took my phone number, and stated i will be contacted to set up an appointment when the part comes in. i called today, oct 16th at 1:18 p.m. to the main #, was routed to violeta in the service dept, who stated she had no record of a service ticket or part ordered for my vehicle.

Toyota is delayed in providing remedy for the "front passenger airbag inflator module recall" on my car. toyota recommends not using the front passenger seat until then. this is not feasible since our family has only one car, we carry dogs/kids in the back seat, and my husband and i must be sitting in the front. toyota dealer sunnyvale (ca) is not able to provide a loaner free of charge until remedy is available.
