Takata recall. subject: ford motor company safety recall notice16s26/nhtsa recall16v-384 received by usps july 2016 about front passenger airbag safety problem resulting in e.g possible injuries and death actual situations involving front seat passengers during a frontal collision. in december 2017, i received a letter (upload attached) from ford motor company "expanding" the same safety problem as "more serious" by indicating "under warning: until remedy parts become available, do not allow anyone to sit in the first row passenger seat". my family and i were scared before but we are completely mentally devastated now. we paid san tan ford, gilbert az cash money for this new car in oct. 2007 and we are forced to ride in a potential death trap. we've called san tan ford for nearly 2 years (this july 2018) and get no satisfaction e.g. no parts/ front passenger airbag are available . my 2007 ford fusion is not usable due to this safety issue.please direct san tan ford, gilbert, az to give me a free rent-a-car until they/ford fixes/replaces my front passenger airbag with one that is safe or replaces my front passenger airbag immediately with one that is safe. *js

Takata recall : since i received notification of this recall in july 2016, i have called the dealership, called ford, called nhtsa, and filled out a complaint form that was mailed to me by nhtsa. the dash in my car is bulging above the passenger side air bag. my mechanic is telling me the air bag is likely "twisted." i believe this qualifies me for an immediate repair. from what i read on the recall site, ford can do an "interim" repair on high risk vehicles defined as: older vehicles exposed to high humidity/high temp. i lived in santa fe nm from may - august 2016 - which is about the time i noticed the sudden bulge in the dash. i currently live in florida which is another high humidity/high temp climate. ford should consider my vehicle as "high risk" and send me the paperwork i need to have it repaired immediately. at the very least, they should send me a voucher so i can take it to any ford dealership to get it checked - free of charge. the sudden bulge in the dash above the airbag is clearly an indication something is wrong. ford should be doing everything they can to get my car checked and repaired at no charge to me. at this point, no one from ford has called or made any attempt to offer me a solution. i would like to know what recourse i have to get this taken care of.

Takata recall i received a letter dated july 2016 from my local ford dealership (bloomington ford in bloomington, in), saying that my car fell under the takata airbag recall and that they would contact me when the parts were available to fix it. it has now been nearly 18 months since that letter was sent, and i contacted the dealership earlier this month to see if my car could be repaired. they told me they still did not have the required materials to complete the recall repairs. i am extremely concerned about the length of time this is taking. i am very aware that my passenger air bag could cause fatal injury, and as i'm looking to sell the car in the next year or two i'm concerned that the problem wouldn't be corrected before that happens and that the next owners may unknowingly be driving a car with a potentially fatal defect. i know i'm not the only one who is dealing with massive delays on this recall repair process, but i was hoping that the nhtsa could come up with some remedy that could get my car fixed faster. i'd also like you to confirm that the local dealerships are as of now unable to fix my car in any way, because it feels like something could be done even if takata has decided to file bankruptcy. thank you.

Takata recall - my ford dealership is still saying after a year and a half that they do not have parts to replace the defective airbag. i am concerned about driving my vehicle any longer without the recall fixed. i have asked every few months about this since the initial notice i received last year (june 2016) to no avail. i am writing this complaint to memorialize that i have tried contacting my dealership getting the same response that there is no solution i just have to wait. this is not timely in my opinion considering that this could cause death. i have registered my email address with tkrestructuring.com per the instructions on the bankruptcy notice, but am still concerned that my vehicle has not been addressed and find this negligent at the very least, thanks! cristina

My passenger airbag is bowed. it just started recently, in the last few weeks. i called ford and they said my vin isn't on the list, but i have all the symptoms of this issue. i was told to go directly to the dealership since it was so unsafe, but the dealership turned me away. basically i was told the passenger air bag can deploy and shoot shrapnel at passengers. called ford and they said for safety reasons i should take it in right away. ford called the closest dealership and they turned me away because my vin isn't on the list. the recall is now, however, so it could still be added. in the meantime, i'm driving around in a car that could throw shrapnel at my face and neck at any moment. my vin needs to be added to this list so i can drive safely. bob rohrman ford in schaumburg il turned me away and wouldn't help. they were very rude and had no common sense
