Recently reported AIR BAGS problems on 2007 Ford Fusion

Large bulging under passager side air bag. told it is cosmetic, but i cannot imagine that to be true. afraid thad bag will trigger or will not expel when needed. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 ford fusion. the contact stated that the air bag warning light illuminated continuously. the contact also stated that the passenger side air bag partially deployed and was exposed from the dashboard. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 126,000.

The air bag warning light is on. when diagnosed at the dealer, the seat weight sensor under the passenger seat has stopped working and needs to be replaced. *tr

The dashboard on top of where the air bag is bowing up causing a space where there shouldn't be. i'm scared that the airbag will deploy on it's own with no reason. *tr

The dashboard on the passenger side around the airbag is bulging. it has gotten worse as time goes on. i am worried that if i was ever in an accident, the passenger would not be protected.

The air bag on the passenger side is bulging causing the dashboard cover to separate from the dash. *tr

Passenger side air bag cover is raised about a quarter inch around the edge airbag has not deployed but i am very concern. *tr

The air bag on the passenger side has been bulging for over a year now. when i first noticed it, i checked to see if it could be fixed. i was told that i would have to pay out of pocket expenses to fix it and it would probably cost me well $1000 bucks. some have been quoted over $2000. my car is paid for and i am no longer covered under warranty. even with a warranty i was informed that it would most likely not be covered under a warranty. to me, this issue a safety hazard. i am forced to leave the passenger side air bag off because i am afraid if i hit a bad bump in the road, it might explode and cause me to have an accident or even injure my passenger. having to leave it off, if i have an accident it may not deploy if i am involved in an accident. i researched and there are numerous complaints regarding the bulging air bag on different models of the ford fusion, i do not feel it is fair that i/we should have to pay out of pocket to fix this problem because it is a safety hazard and not a cosmetic problem caused by the consumer. is ford going to wait until something terrible happens and face a lawsuit because they do not want to recall these vehicles and fix the problem? i do not have a couple $1000 dollars to get this fixed. my ac has been broken since last year. i don't even have the money to fix the ac. please, if there is anything that can be done to get this. this really needs to be on the recall list. *tr

Takata recall. i have called my local dealership when first hearing of the recall. after several attempts to get this taken care of they do not have the part. i was told they would connect with me when they got it. it has been well over a year, no part, no call.

Dash under airbag, above glove box on passenger side. bulging and airbag light on. *tr

Takata recall - a recall for the passenger frontal airbag was issued in july 2016, but the recall is incomplete and a remedy is still not available. i have been using this car for the last 4 years with a hazardous airbag and 6 months after the recall was issued, a remedy is still not available... this is a safety hazard!

Airbag light stays on for the driver's side; sometimes i can get it to turn off if i restart the car. not sure what would happen with the indicator light on; afraid that the airbag may deploy. electrical: two things with the electrical. the first is the compass error. this actually occurred january 2012 (don't remember the mileage). i was parked in a parking lot and turned my vehicle on to have it warm up while i was cleaning the snow off of the car. since it didn't affect how the car handled, i didn't have it looked at. the second issue occurred 11/10/12 which was the driver's door lock would not disengage (mileage was approximately 73,350). i was parked to get out to gas up my car and pulled on the driver's door handle to unlocked the car, it wouldn't open. then i pushed the "unlock" button of the door and the driver's door still would not open. i ended up crawling over to the passenger's door to exit the vehicle. i attempted to enter the car using the door key and it did not disengage the lock. i am taking the vehicle into the ford dealer on monday 11/11/12 to have these problems resolved. please let me know if i need to do anything. thank you. *tr

Tl*the contact owns 2007 ford fusion. the contact stated that when swerving from oncoming traffic the vehicle rolled over and the airbags failed to deploy. the contact mentioned that the seat belt on the rear left hand side failed to lock causing the passenger to be ejected from the vehicle. a police report was filed and minor injuries were sustained to 3 occupants. as a result of the crash, the ejected passenger was paralyzed. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was unknown. the vin number was unavailable.

The airbag is sticking out of the dashboard and ford doesn't want to do anything about it. i believe that being this is safety concern and should be covered by ford. i have contacted them because we have a concern that the airbag will fail or just blow out of the dashboard without any notice. *tr

Dashboard on the passenger side of the car has become unglued and is now sticking up above the airbag panel. it appears that this could be safety issue if the airbag were to deploy. *tr

I am from california and was driving in glendale, arizona at 1:00 a.m. on 06/30/12. the signal i came to was flashing red. cross traffic had flashing yellow light. assuming the cross traffic also had a red flashing light (as in california) i proceeded through the intersection. i was t-boned by a large delivery truck. the side/curtain airbag did not deploy!! i sustained numerous injuries for which i was hospitalized for 9 days. no one was in the car with me, thank god! a few days after the accident, i spoke with the officer that arrived at the scene. he told me that when he saw the amount of damage to my car, he thought he would be "calling the fatal team"....updated 08-10-12 *bf ford motor company needs to do a recall on, not only the fusion models, but on all of their cars. i do not trust ford and will never own one again. i have contacted ford regarding this issue and also an attorney, but i hate to think of all the other drivers out there who assume the airbags work in their cars when possibly they are defective. the number of cases i've read about since my accident shocks me. ford should have done everything they could after the first incident. be careful driving your vehicles...especially if it's a ford. get your airbags checked asap!!!! *tr updated 08/14/2012 *js

Takata recall: i received a letter from ford motor company on july 2016 for a safety recall notice 16s26/nhtsa recall 16v-384 - 2007 ford fusion. passenger frontal airbag inflator may rupture in the event of a crash necessitating airbag deployment. a ruptured inflator may result in metal fragments striking vehicle occupants causing serious injury or death. ford motor co. mentioned in the letter that when parts are available they would notify me via mail to schedule a service appointment with my dealer to have the passenger frontal airbag inflator replaced free of charge (parts and labor). coverage is automatically transferred to subsequent owners. as of 9/16/17, ford has not responded to me via mail in a timely manner. i am still waiting for this letter to inform me that the parts are available and i can contact the dealer to repair my passenger frontal airbag on my ford 2007 fusion. ford motor company and/or takata are on notice and are liable if there are any injuries to any drivers or passengers in this car. i need to have this resolved immediately. this is and has been a very dangerous situation to me and my family due to ford/takata's negligence. this is unacceptable to be driving are car that is dangerous for all. fyi: date below "when did this happen" reflects when i purchased the car which was 10/4/2010, therefore for 7 years i have been driving a car that is dangerous to driver and/or passengers. irresponsiblbe to just be notified in july 2016 that there was this defect. if i have to take legal action i will, therefore, please respond promptly as i have notified my lawyer in advance.

Tl*the contact owns a 2007 ford fusion. the contact was driving approximately 65 mph, the vehicle suddenly swerved into another lane. the brakes locked when pressure was applied and the vehicle began to spin uncontrollably. when the brakes were engaged there was a clicking noise coming from the rear of the vehicle. the vehicle would not slow down and accelerated up an embankment and into a dirt mound. the seat belt failed to secure the contact and caused her to forcefully strike the windshield area. the contact sustained eye, neck and back injuries. the air bags failed to deploy during the crash. a police report was filed. the vehicle was severely damaged and towed to a collision center. the failure mileage was 41,096.

Inside door handles are made of plastic. and therefore they break. i have had three replaced at 250.00 per replacement. when a car cost 30,000 dollars, and it is made of plastic on the parts that are used most often, and a paint that is pealing. the clear coat is flaking off and make a care look unkept. not sure i will ever buy another ford product. my husband has a 150 truck 2008 and i tit is holding up fine.

Took my car in to the ford dealer and they said they would not replace the airbag because it had a savage title. the car was in a wreck in pennsylvania. it had driver's side damage and was repaired. i am told that when there is an accident in pennsylvania, they always put salvage on the title. does ford need to replace?

Takata recall

I wanted to file my complaint on the brakes. i have had this vehicle since 8/07 and have had a few mechanics check the brakes. if i hit my brakes going over a bump they will go straight to the floor. most times it takes a couple hours for the brakes to return to normal. i have had many close calls; with the last one hitting the brakes and not knowing a bump was there, i had to swerve to keep from running into the back of another vehicle. this issue with the brakes has been going on continuous . received recall letter for tarkata airbags still not had them repaired

Yakata recall - dealers cannot get replacement parts

Takata recall. roof rusting out with holes. ford says it's not covered by warranty.

Takata recall. if the manufacturer has failed or is unable to remedy this safety recall for your vehicle in a timely manner, please contact the nhtsa vehicle safety hotline at: 1-888-327-4236 or tty: 1-800-424-9153 or file an online complaint with nhtsa. it has been about four ($) years with no replacement. ford send us a letter about a year ago telling us to not sit in the passenger seat???? this vehicle is not usable under these conditions and cannot be sold under this pending recall. please help! what are we supposed to do?

Takahe recall - no replacement parts for the people who have one of the recalled air bags, and it says that the person could be hurt or killed with the metal parts that could come from it when it is energized..i don't want to see anyone in my vehicle get hurt or killed from this problem, just like i'm sure ford execs or the nhtsa peolple would want to drive this vehicle either.
