Problems with 2013 Ford F-150 POWER TRAIN

On average, the 2013 Ford F-150 starts to “feel” problems with the POWER TRAIN and its various aspects after 77 832 miles.

Recently reported POWER TRAIN problems on 2013 Ford F-150

Truck will shift gears at any time. it dropped to first gear unexpected while exiting interstate back tires locked up.just thankful it wasn't 10 seconds before while on interstate now i don't drive it much you never know when it's gonna shift by itself. it throws a code that says it the speed output sensor. there is a recall for the same thing on a 2012 model built in dearborn and kansas city between august and march 2012. my truck was built in kansas city in september. maybe that recall should be expanded to cover all effected vehicles.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford f-150. the contact stated that the vehicle decelerated and the shifter could not be placed in the correct position. the contact stated that the failure was intermittent. in order to operate the vehicle, it had to be manually restarted. the vehicle was taken to marshall ford lincoln (4200 e end blvd s, marshall, tx); however, the vehicle was not diagnosed. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 102,000.

While driving down the street it decelerates and shift out of gear but if i turn it off turn the key over, move the shift column from drive to first ,back to drive and if it starts properly it runs for approximately 3 to 4 miles and then it kicks back out to gear acts like there's no gas until i restart the vehicle at one point it shifted into first locked up my rear end of my vehicle as i was going down the highway almost causing me to wreck fortunately no one was behind me.

Vehicle went into "limp mode" while traveling at high speed creating a very dangerous situation. this occurred 2 more times before i could get an appointment at the dealer. the dealer could note find any codes but decided my electronic throttle body was defective and not covered under my power train warranty. ford customer service extended warranties for other vehicles with the same part but will not include my vehicle.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford f-150. while driving various speeds, the vehicle shook as the accelerator pedal was depressed. the contact also stated that the vehicle felt as if it were in neutral. the vehicle was taken to the dealer (taylor ford, 13500 telegraph road, taylor, mi 48180), but the cause of the failure could not be diagnosed. the vehicle was not repaired. he manufacturer was not notified. the failure mileage was approximately 89,000.

Sudden downshift at highway speed. vehicle was in motion, 60 mph. several occurrences until vehicle was safely removed from roadway. speedometer showed "0 mph" when downshifts occurred. rear wheels skidded on dry pavement creating extremely unsafe situation. it being unsafe to drive, had it towed to dealer. stated unsafe to drive and transmission downshifts to lowest gear at highway speeds. service writer described problem as speedometer problem and did not state a sudden downshift occurred. service writer entered mileage as 125,002 instead of around 40,000. i gave the service writer several printed instances of downshift occurrences i obtained from various websites. did not seem interested. if anyone searches databases, the problem would show as a high mileage vehicle with a speedometer problem, instead of a low mileage vehicle supposedly still under warranty with a severe transmission safety issue. cost, $1049.61 and not covered under warranty (as per dealer) and simply a speed sensor issue.

Automatic transmission unexpectedly downshifted to first gear while traveling down the highway at 50 mph suddenly without warning causing the rear tires to slide and lock, and the control panel inside the vehicle is blinked out not showing anything.

I excelerated from a stop, suddenly my check engine light started to flash and i started to lose power and acceleration. my vehicle then began to shudder, i let off the accelerator pedal and moved to the side of the road. after about a minute the engine light turned itself off and the full power came back to the truck.

I was driving on the freeway between the speeds of 60 and 65mph and my 2013 f150 with a 6r80 transmission suddenly downshifted into what i believe was 1st gear. i came very close to crashing and completely losing control because the rear wheels breifly skidded on the freeway surface and because of the quick reduction of speed. it was violent because i wasnt expecting it. i am going to slowly limp it to a ford dealer in mesa arizona tomorrow morning. they should not charge me for this componant flaw. i do not feel safe driving my truck.

Jumps from first gear to fifth while not doing 5 mph. traveling down highway shifts from 6 gear to third and speed odomotor goes to 0, wrench sigh appears on cluster and driver seat belt show not ingaged

I experienced this several time but to a lesser degree and at slower speeds than this instance. i was driving on the highway at normal highway speed when suddenly my f-150 shifted from 6th gear into 2nd. it felt as if someone had slammed on the breaks. i was jolted forward and the vehicle behind me had to slam on its breaks and swerve to avoid me. i pulled over to the side of the road and could not get my truck to change out of 2nd gear. i turned the truck off then back on and it seemed normal for a second then went into "limp home mode." i then drove in "limp home mode" from where i was to the closest transmission shop because my truck was 4,000 miles over the powertrain warranty. the shop told me that i had to replace several gears within my transmission and it was cause by a faulty lead frame. this happens to be the same part that was recalled on the 2011 and 2012 models. this seems extremely careless and dangerous of ford to knowingly not recall a part despite the fact that it can lead to serious accidents.

When driving in motion, my vehicle downshifted automatically locking up the brakes. the speedometer stopped working and the airbag began to read inoperable via the display. in another situation (which occurred several times) when starting from a stationary position my vehicle failed to shift out of 1st gear. i took the vehicle to be serviced by ford, they advised the lead frame on the transmission was bad and they replaced it. upon further research, i found that 10-12 ford f-150's from the kansas city plant had this item recalled.

Driving on interstate at roughly 70 mph with cruise control engaged, truck lost power and started to coast. speedometer swept to 0 indicated speed, tachometer indicated engine at idle speed, around 1000 rpm, while coasting from 70 mph slowing to roughly 40 mph. vehicle regained powered drive briefly then again lost power and coasted. after resuming coasting, the back tires then breifly locked up, vehicle shuddered, then resumed coasting. extremely dangerous as vehicle being driven in traffic on interstate and became nearly uncontrollable. explanation from dealer service department was that the wiring harness from transmission to ecu passes through firewall through a grommet that is known to fail. the wiring chafes and causes a short and the transmission to malfunction. apparently a tsb is issued for repair at customer's expense per dealer but i have not been able to find it. this appears to be a proverbial ticking timebomb for f150 owners and should absolutely be subject to a recall.

The vehicle did not shift to the appropriate gear and acted erratically. the rpms might spike but the truck did not accelerate. other times the rpms dropped to zero even when i depressed the gas pedal. after first replacing the spark plugs, the dealership replaced the lead frame for a total out of pocket cost of approximately $1,100. i was lucky that the problem manifested itself at lower speeds in town. this could easily have been a serious safety problem under other conditions such as towing a camper/trailer or at high speeds. i see there was a lead frame recall on the 2012 f150s. it seems appropriate that this recall would also be applicable to the 2013s. https://media.ford.com/content/fordmedia-mobile/fna/us/en/news/2016/04/27/ford-motor-company-issues-three-safety-recalls-and-two-safety-co.html

Failure of the lead frame in the 6 speed transmission. ford recalled a number of 2011 and 2012 f150's for this problem. the lead frame failure, which houses the speed sensor, causes the vehicle to attempt to downshift into 1st gear at highway speeds. mine is a 2013 f150 with the same problem. the first two times occurred at highway speed, ~50mph, and caused a sudden/temporary bog and deceleration. the third time the vehicle downshifted into first gear from approximately 50mph, causing the rear wheels to lock up and create a short skid, before shifting back into a higher gear. the vehicle behind me nearly crashed into me because of the sudden deceleration without warning. this was on a straight, level highway while traveling at a constant speed. the three incidents occurred several weeks apart in similar conditions, and the first two were not severe enough for me to immediately take it for service. i had the part replaced at $727 cost to me. the vehicle has 66,000 miles and was just out of warranty. i asked ford about covering the cost, since the recalled '11 and '12 models were covered for all repair costs beyond 100,000 miles. i was informed since my vehicle was not part of the recall, even though it had the exact same problem and transmission, ford would not cover the repair. this is a dangerous condition known to ford. many owners may forego repairs due to the cost, particularly when the initial signs of a problem are not severe, until they have a full on lockup of the rear wheels as i experienced. i have the receipt and original lead frame that was replaced if necessary for inspection.

03/31/17 vin [xxx] was rear ended at 80 mph. [xxx] was pushed into the concrete center divider upon impact the drivers airbag failed to deploy, resulting in injury to the driver. drivers side curtains deployed. vehicle is preserved in evidence. detailed photos and police report are available of inspection. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

Extreme loss of power when accelerating, and violent engine vibrations during the process, lasting for about one minute and then everything goes back to normal operations. this is extremely unsafe and dangerous given the situation.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford f-150. while driving approximately 50 mph, the transmission erroneously shifted into first gear and caused the rear wheels to lock. the driver stopped the vehicle and shut off the engine. after restarting the engine, the vehicle operated as normal. the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the vin was invalid. the failure mileage was 86,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford f-150. while driving 75 mph, the vehicle downshifted independently and had to be parked on the median of the highway. the check engine indicator illuminated after the vehicle was restarted. the vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. the following day, the contact drove the vehicle to an auto shop where it was diagnosed as a lead frame (transmission related) failure. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 69,500.

Transmission suddenly downshifts to first gear while driving at a steady speed approximately 40-50 mph causing cars following to brake severely to avoid collision. transmission also intermittently fails to engage in drive when pulling out into traffic leaving vulnerable to collision with on coming traffic.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford f-150. the contact stated that the vehicle stalled more than twice and the wrench icon warning indicator illuminated. the vehicle stalled again before it was taken to a dealer. the vehicle was able to restart and the dealer diagnosed that the throttle body assembly needed to be replaced. the actuator control system was not closed and was faulty internally. the manufacturer issued service campaign number: 13n03 to address the repair that was specific to certain models. the manufacturer provided no solution. the vehicle was repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 28,000.

Without warning, vehicle downshifts at any speed, from 6th gear to 2nd gear locking up all 4 tires and screeching to a 60 mph slowdown. the vehicle was in motion on highway 5 northbound. occurred at least 10 times at 70 miles per hour and then again at 30 miles per hour in novato on a city street before taking to authorized ford service department. they kept the vehicle for 4 weeks and determined a wiring lead needed to be replaced. of course, this is not covered by any powertrain warranty. this is a very dangerous situation as we could have been seriously injured or killed as well as any other vehicle around us. i found this exact same issue with the same vehicle in several instances on the internet. know issue.

On this vehicle, i rarely use 4wd, except in winter conditions. i could not get the vehicle out of 4wd low back into 4x2, even while the foot was on the brake and in neutral. i attempted to drive over a small pile of shoveled snow at the end of my driveway entering a city street and i shifted it into 4wd low. the vehicle was in neutral and the brake was applied. it made a horrible grinding and then a "thud" from the powertrain and lurched forward. after i was out of the driveway i decided to take it out of 4wd low, so i stopped, and with the brake applied, i shifted to neutral and then selected 4wd high. the vehicle advised to pull forward so i shifted to drive and nothing happened. the vehicle would not move and had a very high rpm. and the speedometer started climbing. i then shifted back to neutral and then tried reverse. same result, i got the same, no movement high rpm and then all of a sudden the gears started to grind horribly! i immediately shifted back to neutral. i even attempted to shift to 4x2, but still would not move. it seemed as it was stuck in between gears. i then had to get out of the vehicle while in neutral and pushed the vehicle forward, as this is what the onboard system was saying. it wanted you to pull forward, but nothing was engaged to let you pull forward. no other option than to push. after a few tries of this pushing and shifting method, it finally decided to catch and it slammed back into 4wd high, but it also sounded like the front end of the truck was being ripped apart at that point. it was in gear for me and moving again though, and i was able to shift it back into 4x2 immediately. *tr

I was driving in traffic at approximately 45 mph when my truck suddenly surged as if i had hit something and a faint squeal of the rear tires. then as sudden at it happened the truck began to roll smoothly again. a wrench appeared on the dash screen with a statement that said "maintenance required". the airbag indication illuminated. once the wrench symbol and "maintenance required" statement disappeared the regular screen came back that showed the mileage and the amount of miles until empty, except the numbers were all dashes. also the speedometer was showing that i was going 0 mph when i was clearly moving around 45 mph. i tried to accelerate and the vehicle would not accelerate no matter how much throttle i gave it. i noticed the truck was stuck in 5th gear. i tried to manually shift the gears and when i pressed the + and - buttons on the gear shifter the number "5" on the dash would flash and not change gears. i could not seem to get the truck over 2300 rpm. i took a photo of the display showing the dashes and 0 mph. *tr

When starting from a stop, after transmission shifts into 1st gear, going to 2nd gear, transmission will disengage into neutral and engine will continue to rev. after 3-5 seconds, transmission will reengage and shift thru the gears to top gear. this only happens while vehicle is in forward motion and only on an intermitant basis, eg, not all the time. also, sometimes while traveling at highway speeds, the speedometer will drop to zero for 1-2 seconds and then back to the present speed. another issue is that sometimes while traveling forward, the vehicle will suddenly act like it wants to lock up as though it was placed into park. i have also come to a stop and when trying to start to move forward, the transmission gear indicator says that it did not downshift to 1st gear, but tried to start out in 4th gear. after stopping and restarting to move forward, it would finally downshift to 1st gear. sometimes, the transmission will not shift into 2nd gear until the vehicle has reached 20-30 mph and then it will go from 1st gear to 4th then finally thru to 6th and final gear. i took the vehicle to a ford dealership and they could not get the vehicle to do these things. they did tell me that ford had recalled 2011 and 2012 model f150's for a similar problem. they reprogrammed the computer in hopes that it would solve the problem, it did not. i was told by the dealership that the leadframe valve body may need to be replaced or rebuilt to solve the problem. i am affraid to drive the vehicle very far, fearing a possible breakdown on the highway. i have scheduled another visit with a ford dealer to possibly have this rebuild done. the vehicle has 86,000 miles on it and they estimate a substantial cost involved to do this. do you know if there is anyone else having this problem and is there a recall for this ?

The front wheel bearings are going out, it is called the spindle part of the hub, makes loud vibration sounds and can be felt and heard throughout the car at lower speeds. sounds of rubbing or grinding with low miles and just purchased used from dealer weeks ago.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford f-150. while driving various speeds, the wrench warning indicator illuminated and the speed decreased. the vehicle would not accelerate while depressing the accelerator pedal. the dealer diagnosed that the throttle body failed. the vehicle was repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 41,770.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford f-150. while driving 70 mph, the vehicle downshifted to first gear and caused the contact to lose control. the contact was able to shift the vehicle into neutral and pull over. the vehicle was restarted and driven in first gear to the contact's residence. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the power train control module needed to be reprogrammed and updated. the vehicle was not repaired. the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 16v248000 (power train). the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 64,000.

With cruise control set on and going 70 mph, on a straight level highway, transmission downshifted to 1st gear. rear tires slid, engine rpm's were increased from the engine braking effect of the sudden downshift and tires dragging. pulled off the road and turned off the engine for a short time. started the engine and went home slowly without another issue. did a search for what happened and found the recall for 2011 and 2012 f150. this is a seriously unsafe and unpredictable condition that if it occurs on a curve or rain slicked road could cause a serious accident through loss of control. i have contacted ford and been told the recall does not cover may year model. i think my 95,000 miles on my 2013 model f150 puts my vehicle in the mileage range obtained by earlier year models so i may be the start of the same issues with the 2013 year models. there is a component issue with the transmissions that they failing in such a dangerous and unpredictable manner. the nhtsa campaign number is 16v248000 for 2011 and 2012 f150s.

Like many other ford throttle body complaints in vehicles 2010-2013 mine has the same electrical connection problem from the vehicle computer to the throttle body itself. sending the vehicle into the "limp home mode " while in motion at any speed causing a safety issue by, at any given time losing throttle control.this vehicle needs to be included in the earlier recall ( customer satisfaction program via ford motor company ) of electronic throttle body defects.

When driving the truck randomly goes into 1st gear. the problem is escalating. before it did it once or twice and when you would have it looked at you couldn't duplicate it.

Upon leaving my driveway which is on a hill i went to apply my brakes and had no response, caused me to go off the curb. my brake pedal was hard to operate i went on line and did some research found out about recall.

Taking off from a start, vehicle acted like transmission was slipping, then slammed between 5th gear and 2nd gear repeatedly, and entered limp home mode. separate instance: when passing another vehicle on two-lane road, full throttle, vehicle slammed into 2nd gear and entered limp home mode while i was in oncoming traffic, forcing me to abort the pass. both times, in order to resolve the problem, i had to pull over, stop the vehicle, turn ignition off, and re-start the vehicle.

Traveling highway at approx. 60 mph when truck downshifted to lower gear causing rear wheels to jump until truck could be stopped. pulled to side of road and shut vehicle off. after brief period, started truck and was able to drive awhile normally. truck did the same thing again and i pulled to side of road and shut vehicle off again. let stand for awhile, then started vehicle and was able to get home. took the vehicle immediately to ford dealership and they replaced the "throttle body assembly as possible cause". my truck had just recently gone out of warranty period per dealership, and i had to pay for the repair. i have not had the problem since this fix (approximately 3 years ago) however i am taking it in for recall to update software specifically for failure of oss. my truck is a 2013 f150 4x4 crew cab with echo boost 3.5l engine.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford f-150. while driving various speeds, the transmission downshifted into second gear and the vehicle decelerated abruptly. the failure was experienced several times. the vehicle was taken to an unknown dealer where a failure code for the transmission load sensor was found. the transmission load sensor was replaced. the vehicle was repaired. the manufacturer was not contacted. the vin was not available. the failure mileage was 120,000. *tt

Throttle was completely lost. truck would only run around 5 mph maximum. would not take throttle at all. this is a very dangerous condition when in a high traffic and multi lane setting where all the other vehicles are running at high speeds. it is also very dangerous when pulling a 7000 lb trailer with no or extremely limited pull offs for emergencies such as this. it creates a very real possibility of death. this occurred on a local road in fitzgerald, ga traveling straight with light traffic conditions fortunately. i drove the truck in to fitzgerald ford from about 3 to 4 miles away at the above mentioned speed. the dealership diagnosed the problem as a faulty throttle body, and it was replaced at a cost to me of $248.12. my wife's car also had this problem with the exact same part. it was replaced by the same dealership and paid for by us. my wife [xxx] subsequently received correspondence from ford that indicated the throttle body warranty had been extended, and that cost that we previously paid was refunded to us. her car which we still own is a 2010 ford fusion sel. the vin is [xxx]. the incident with my truck occurred yesterday, june 24, 2016. the diagnosis, repair and payment for the repair also took place yesterday. is there any difference between the extension of the car throttle body warranty and the truck? information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

When i turn on and place the truck in drive, my steering wheel locks up to where i cant use steering wheel, i get a error on dash stating "assist power steering failure. i place truck in park and turn vehicle off, and restart and problem seems fine, until steering wheel locks up while driving and i get this same error. ford dealer is charging me $2000 to fix this problem. this could cause a major crash. i believe ford should have this recalled and pay for this.

While accelerating to merge into traffic on the interstate the truck shuttered violently and lost all power to the drive train. motor was still running but transmission would not engage for approximately 10-15 seconds. tapped accelerator 2 times and motor would rev up but transmission did not engage again until third attempt. i have my truck serviced regularly, this is not a low transmission fluid issue and seems to be the same issue reported by other f150 owners across the country. this is a safety issue, i was almost hit in the rear after this happened. the service light came on when this issue occurred; however, after going to the dealer and shutting the engine off the service light did not reappear when started again.

While driving 75 mph the transmission dropped into a low gear enough to make the tires bark, then within seconds while assessing what happened it happened again. i put the vehicle in neutral and coasted to the shoulder. if a car had been following within 3 or 4 car lengths there would have been a collision. the action was severe and abrupt. the motor never shut off, but the transmission shifted into a lower gear twice before i was able to put it in neutral and work my way to the shoulder.

Vehicles has several times after being at a stop, vehicle will not engage transmission. vehicle will accelerate engine rpm's, but is like it is neutral and speedometer goes to 0. vehicle will roll, but stops in middle of road, intersection or shoulder if enough speed before it stops. brought vehicle in 2 times and kinsel ford dealership can't get it duplicate problem. called ford motor and they told me they can't help me until a certified technician sees it. was told i need to drive vehicle until it does this again and call roadside assistance and don't restart so codes won't clear. i feel this was unsafe because vehicle can stall in a intersection and cause a cause a wreck. ford told me they couldn't help me until they could actually see this prove. i have to have a vehicle and drive it until it does it so i can get this fixed.

Truck shifts up & down by self. jerks hard when shifting. when stopped speedo goes to 30 to 50 and shows in 3rd gear. at start in this situation it jumps violently forward. when trying to merge with traffic will not shift out of 1st gear. restart and take back roads as it is not safe in traffic or where there are pedestrians at a cross walk. phil long ford denver is waiting to hear from ford. ford has started a case report on this vehicle but has not responded. i am concerned this is a big safety problem. this appears to happen when the transmission temperature goes up over 200 degrees f. the problems happen while stopped, stopping, starting highways or secondary roads, this happened 2 times within the last month.

While accelerating, the vehicle has suddenly dropped down to a lower gear, and flashed a wrench symbol on the dashboard. when this occurs, all dashboard indicators zero out and speed drops drastically. this has occured on both a city street and on the highway. the time it occured one the highway, i nearly lost control of the vehicle. after the second time the issue occurred, i took the vehicle to a dealership. they inspected and discovered dtc code p0722 and diagnosed that it was due to a faulty lead connector. my own research revealed a recall for the 2011 and 2012 model year f150s to fix the exact same problem, a faulty speed sensor. now i'm paying $650 for something that's been a problem with other model years.

I've repeatedly taken this vehicle to the ford dealer. it has the stutter shift problem, sticking in either 1st, 3rd, or 5th gear. shifting from 1st to 5th when accelerating, downshifting from 5th to ist with the resulting screech of the rear wheels and going into limp mode, remaining in 5th gear when stopping, the display going blank and the rectangle with wrench symbol occurring, etc. etc. iv'e read many of the complaints list ed on this site and it seems i've had them all. i've had to take serious evasive measures on three occasion. the only response i get from the dealer is "if you can't duplicate it, we can't fix it." i file a grievance complaint and received a call from the district supervisor who said we are not buying back your truck as there is nothing wrong with your vehicle. this was followed up by the factory ford satisfaction representative who was not interested in my problem but calling to evaluate the ford dealer and state if you can't demonstrate the problem we can't fix it. this is a serious safety hazard and judging from what i've read, it should be opened to recall investigation. my problems started around 12,000 miles and i now have approx. 17,000 miles with over 100 incidences. it seems once you stop and start the engine a reset takes place and it one usually can continue without incident. i personally feel this is a software issue and there are bugs in the so called adaptive driving(i.e. artificial intelligence) and the trained service technicians are not equipped to solve problems of this nature. i've talked to these techs and they want to fix the problem, but unless they can retrieve a diagnostic code there is nothing they can do. this needs to be elevated to the upper levels of ford management. *tr

While driving the vehicle at 50mph the truck suddenly shifted from 5th gear to 1st gear causing the rear wheels to loose traction and loss of control into on coming cars in a turn lane. after a few seconds noticing the rpm's reached 6800 the truck shifted to 3rd gear and i was able to avoid impact. no trouble lights or any indications were given. i'm filing a complaint to see if any other owners of this year truck are having this problem. there is a recall 16s19 for 2011-2012 ford trucks but when asking ford about my 2013 doing the same thing i get shunned. the damage caused by the down shift has resulted in the truck needing a complete new transmission which was stated by ford's field service rep. my truck has been sitting at the dealer since april 18th and is still not drivable after 2 different attempts to fixing the problem.

Upon entering freeway merging traffic i had a hard acceleration .my truck stumbled would not go any faster then 30 mph by then the semi was on my rear causing a serious problem had to pull off to the shoulder .waited a few minutes and the problem seam to go away. this has occurred numerous times.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford f-150. while driving approximately 65 mph, the transmission downshifted without warning and the instrument cluster failed suddenly. the vehicle was stuck in fifth gear. the contact notified the dealer and they advised the contact to wait a moment and restart the vehicle. the contact was able to coast the vehicle over to the side of the road to restart the vehicle, which reset the computer. the vehicle was taken to the dealer who disassembled the transmission and indicated that there was an internal failure. the micro chip was covered in transmission fluid. the dealer did not indicate why the transmission fluid leaked internally or if there was an internal fracture within the transmission. the dealer replaced the part with a modified version of the micro chip within the transmission along with a cover. the contact was uncertain if the repair would provide a permanent remedy for the condition. the vehicle was repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 99,116.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford f-150. while driving at any speed, the vehicle would shift into third gear without warning. the vehicle was taken to a dealer, but was not diagnosed. the manufacturer was notified. the failure mileage was 24,793.

My truck has been experiencing hesitation upon acelleration and is making noises and my check engine light was on. i took it to the dealership on february 2, 2016 be fixed and at first it was covered under warranty. i took it back on february 16, 2016 bc i had to have a ford rental per ford. the truck was repaired but then it wasn't covered per ford and i had to pay over $400 to get it fixed. my check engine light came on again and it had to go back to the dealership but this time it was covered under warranty. i just got my truck back on april 11,2016 and today on april 14, 2016 the light is back on. i am waiting on a call back from the ford dealership to find out what to do next.

Vehicle decelerated during attempt hard acceleration. had loss of power while trying to accelerate on two separate occasions. once while accelerating on an on ramp and once during acceleration up a steep incline and highway speeds. both during wet conditions. check engine light came on while decelerating and then went off after slowing and pulling to side of road. dangerous circumstance while trying to merge and from overtaking traffic.

This is an update to my complaint filed preciously. after the second episode of loss of power and the check engine light coming on. i took my ecoboost powered truck to a ford dealer and they performed tsb 14-0017. this was supposed to fix the engine loosing power. this is why the nhtsa closed the investigation of the f150 ecoboost. this has not worked. yesterday 11-7-2015 i was on a 2 hour highway trip in rainy conditions. while driving the motor again lost power and could not even maintain highway speeds. this was dangerous to my family and everyone around us. the tsb from ford has not fixed the dangers of these trucks. please re-open the investigation into this dangerous vehicle before someone is killed or injured. american roads deserve safe cars.
