When driving down the road a 35 mph my driver side window made a loud pop sound and the window fell down into the door. i had to buy a whole new window regulator assembly. i have seen this to be a problem on this site and many other online forums. there must be a defect with the regulators. mine was so bad that the cable actually frayed and snapped. this is a safety hazard that should be addressed. *tr

Rear passenger window regulator stopped working and window fell into door. had my wife done this while driving she would have been scared by the loud popping noise and potentially crashed into object injuring herself and or others. this is a common problem and ford needs to recall the trucks with the plastic parts and faulty mechanism. search the web and there are hundreds of vehicles with the same issue . years 2004-2006. ford needs to recall! *tr

We had just left our house and the driver side window fell down into the door and would not come back up. i looked on the internet and youtube to find out this has happened to 100's of the f150's. this is very dangerous because evidently it can happen to any of the windows on the truck. one of my grandchildren could have been riding with us and possible fall out a window. i understand there is no recall for this. i emailed ford about this but it stated the might not even acknowledge it. *tr

Parking my truck in my garage, stopped, put transmission in park, closed drivers door power window, heard loud pop, sounded as if glass broke, but it did not. window fell down into door, would not raise up. pressing power button, i could hear motor running, but window would not move. *js

Driving out of a parking lot, only 10 mph or so, loud pop on passenger side door. stopped the vehicle, and passenger window dropped down into the door. grateful i was not going fast and had the ability to stop quickly, otherwise potential accident. looking online, can see this is a frequent problem with this year, make, model truck. a matter of time before someone gets hurt from this. *js

I was leaving an atm (it was raining), i rolled up the drivers window. when the window reached the top the window fell (free fall was more like it) in to the door. once i removed the door panel and inspected the window parts i found the regulator failed/broke. we are thankful the window did not break and injure us. *tr

Driving my son home from school, heard a loud pop in the driver's side door, which made me jerk the wheel (glad i wasn't going very fast), then the driver's side window fell into the frame. dealership claims broken window regulator. went online and found hundreds of complaints of the same. called ford complaint number; they very kindly told me there was nothing they could do at this time. too many complaints of the same issue to not be on recall list. *tr

Driving to church on may 6th, 2012 @ 0900 a.m. on the interstate traveling @ 70 mph. i lowered the window about an inch. when i pressed the button to raise the window a loud pop occurred and the window dropped into the door-well. it scared everyone in the truck. it was a sunny day. potential for loss of life is present with this issue. inclement weather or blinding debris within the cab could raise the potential for loss of life. please petition ford motor company for a recall on this potentially life threatening issue. *tr

For the third time, i have had a door window drop from a fully closed position to a fully open position. in doing reseach on the issue, i find that this is a common problem with 2004 - 2005 model year f150 crew cabs. *tr

I have read many complaints just like mine, ford told some people they had way too many complaints to do anything about a recall on this. last year the drivers window popped and the window dropped inside the door i went to ford bought the cable and regulator and had a window company replace it. 2 weeks ago same thing on the passengers front window, next day the passengers back window dropped while i was in my house, the drivers back window is the only one left. this truck is a 2005 the parts are not that old. *tr

Driver side window just fell in the door while driving. *tr

Window regulator failure. *tr

I just bought this vechile with in the past 2 weeks and the window on the driver side, made a loud grinding sound .....then a loud bang as the window fell down in the door! i'm very lucky that i did not total my vechile as i was pulling into main traffic on a busy road that i live on! this was my dads old vechile and he had the same problem with the passenger side.....not to long ago! also have been doing some digging on this issue and i see that quite a few other people have been going throught the same problem as well! just making first few payments and boom!!!! there go's a bunch of money on a safety part that really needs fixed! ford .........wake up and fix this issue already!!! *tr

While sitting still, using the power window switch to raise driver side window, the window rolled all the way up and then heard a grinding noise, and the window drop into the door in less than a second. this has previously happen on the passenger side window about a year ago. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 ford f-150. the contact was driving 30 mph when the window detached from the cable and fell into the door panel. the vehicle was taken to a local body shop where the manufacturer was contacted and the vehicle was repaired. the failure mileage was 25,780 and the current mileage was 25,800.

I have had two window regulators fail and the windows come crashing down unexpected while driving at high speed in ford f150 and not touching the window controls. the windows will not go back up and have had to be fixed. i live in northern climate with bad weather and the conditions are dangerous to drive in with a window down and children in the back seat. *tr

Power windows devices & controls - window regulator failure my wife and i drove my 2005 ford f150 to pick up my son up from kindergarten and while driving home, going approximately 25 mph during a severe florida thunder storm we heard a loud pop, then crackle which sounded like it came from the drivers side of the truck. i pulled over in the storm to see if anything struck the door. since i saw nothing i pulled back onto the road and continued to drive home, then all of a sudden the front drivers side window abruptly flew down into the door and disappeared. my 5 year old son who was sitting directly behind me on the driver's side in his car seat, was terrified, crying and wet from rain flying in the window, we were 5 minutes from home and pulled into the garage. my son and i were soaked and all three of us were shaken. i have recently found out the issue was caused by a window regulator failure. this could have caused an accident and is highly dangerous, especially with a small child in the car. when researching the issue further i found that there are numerous complaints from consumers, however ford has not responded, nor addressed this extremely hazardous issue. currently my window is taped with a bag to cover the window hole as we don't have the funds to fix this issue since both wife and i were laid off recently. this issue is not just about the cost it's a safety concern that needs to be reviewed. is it a faulty part on the manufacturer's side, is it a ford engineering problem? what does it take for a recall? do individuals need to be hurt or worse die in order for a recall. shame on ford for letting an issue like this receive multiple consumer complaints with no action or resolution. this is not normal wear and tear. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 ford f-150. the contact stated that while driving approximately 30 mph uphill, the brakes began pulsating as the contact decelerated. in addition, the driver and passenger side windows had fallen into the door panel without warning. the vehicle had not been inspected by a dealer nor repaired. the manufacturer was not contacted. the failure mileage was unknown and the current mileage was approximately 158,000.

The first regulator that broke was on the drivers side. my wife and i came home in her car, my truck was parked in the driveway and we noticed the window on the drivers side was down and on inspection the glass was down inside the door. the next time was this sunday, march 1, 2012, when we got home from church the same thing happened except it was the passenger side. *tr

2005 ford f-150 had left and right side window regulators fail while vehicle was traveling. the right side failed first then the left side failed a few days later. the window dropped completely when the regulators failed. *tr

I own a 2005 ford f150 xlt w/ electric windows. my truck has 82,000 miles on it and has been serviced by the dealership regularly since i bought it new. i was driving to run errands and my drivers side window made a large pop noise and started to slide down inside my door. i was traveling about 40mph on a busy two way street. i used one hand to hold my window up and the other to steer until i could find a spot to pull over. i eventually had to let the window drop to the bottom of the door to return home. *tr

Faulty window regulators on f150 trucks. driving back from california to nevada with my two year old granddaughter in the back seat and the window fell in to door. we had to drive 300 miles in a rain storm with the window down, and this is the third time this has happened since i bought this truck new in 2005 and ford will not take responsibility for the issue. this is not except able by the manufacture and because this has happened to so many people we need to boycott buying ford products. *tr

Rear passenger side window regulator broke. i rarely if ever have passengers ride in my truck and even less so in the rear, so the window rarely ever gets used. my truck is not driven and has been sitting for 4 months in my driveway. i came home one day to my rear passenger window down inside the door. the window regulator broke while just sitting in my driveway not being used or tampered with. i also keep a windshield sunscreen inside the windshield to keep heat down.

I have a 2005 ford f150 4 door. while driving, i heard a loud pop and my drivers door window fell to the bottom of the door. the loud noise was a shock and a possible safety hazard. approximately a week later, the right rear window did the same thing!! i have read several things on line about this stating that the window regulators going out on these vehicles is a common problem. i have not had either fixed due to the cost. there are numerous issues with this problem on line and needs to be recalled. *kb

It was a scorching sunny florida day when my window on my 2005 f150 would no longer work due to a window motor regulator assembly failure that the dealership would like to repair it at the wonderful cost of over $300 american dollars. the window motor regulator assembly has been intermittently working in the truck for the past few months, not to mention the window switch which had to be replaced at my own expense a couple about a year ago on my truck which is was only 4 1/2 years old at the time. the window would no longer roll up, causing severe sun burn to arms. ford should repair this issue at no cost, especially since it is a known problem already. *tr

2005 ford f-150, right rear window mechanism pops real loud, window falls into the door. i was not rolling it up or down, just driving down the road. the truck just turned 34,000 miles. it has been garaged and taken care of all its life. *tr

2005 ford f-150. consumer states defective power window system *tgw

We have had 3 actuators on our windows in our ford f-150 go out while driving on the highway. we almost had a very bad accident when the last one "exploded". it sounds like someone has shot the windshield when it happens and it is very hard to concentrate on driving and not swerve into another car or go off the road. i have talked to many people that have had the same problem with their ford vehicles. this is very dangerous and could cause a fatal accident. we did go off the road when the first one broke, and if we had been on a highway with another car beside us, we would have hit it. *tt

While entering an on ramp to get onto the freeway, i heard a loud pop and the next thing i know, the window is down and i cannot roll it back up. i've taken it to the ford dealership where i've told them not to let the window down (they do it anyway) and then i have to waste more time having them manually roll the window back up in hopes that it will stay up. then, about a year later, the passenger side window has now fallen down in the middle of the night! needless to say, i'm thankful that my truck wasn't stolen overnight while i was sleeping because of the window randomly falling, again! i'm tired of putting money into this truck and looking to go to another vehicle that is not a ford. if i knew i could file a complaint when the initial incident happened, i would have done so with no hesitation. *tr

Webasto - hollandia 700 series sunroof blew off truck going 70 miles per hour. the vehicle is a 2005 ford f-150 king ranch super crew. on 12/26/2010 - while traveling with my wife and child from jacksonville, fl. to atlanta, ga.and on i-10 west, 5 miles from i-75 north when my sunroof suddenly ripped off the top of my truck. the sunshade was also ripped out instantaneously. fortunately the car behind me was far enough back to swerve and avoid be hit by the glass panel and sunshade. i recovered the glass panel and sunshade. *tr

Power window regulator failed and now i have duct tape on my window b/c i can't afford the repair. *tr

We owned a 2005 f150 vehicle. we purchase the vehicle 2004 and the drivers side window's regulated failed a loud sound was heard and the window came down by itself. today 12/10/2010 the passenger side front window did the same thing. we are now out of warranty and with no money to pay for the window. there has being so many complains in the internet about this particular issue that if the research is done you will find this is a defect since before the 2005 were made. i don't believe that the consumer has to pay for a manufacture defect of this kind. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2005 ford f-150. the contact stated that all of the power windows failed except for the drivers side window. the windows cannot be maneuvered back into the upright position. the vehicle was not inspected by a dealer nor was it repaired. the dealer advised him that the actuator to the power windows may have caused the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

I have a 2005 ford f150. while driving three days ago i heard a loud pop and suddenly my front passenger side window was gone, it had fallen into the door. the motor still runs, but the window is stuck in the down position. today while starting my truck, the driver's side window did the same thing, a loud pop then the window slid slowly into the door. the motor still runs on this one as well, but does not move the window. so now i have two windows that are inside the door that will not go up. *tr

2005 ford f-150. had window regulator replaced in may for driver's window. just had passenger window roll down on its own on the highway during a thunderstorm. i was in the backseat while my husband and father-in-law were in the front. i was drenched, as was the interior. i contacted ford and they basically said "not our problem", i can't afford the $500+ it costs to get it fixed, especially when i have talked to numerous people who have had the same problems. this is obviously an ongoing issue with them and i can't understand why ford hasn't been forced to do a recall. what if someone in the backseat was hit by a hailstone? what if the glass had shattered and hit that child? what if the window went down while at an intersection and someone had carjacked me? i could be dead because ford wants to put out shoddy work and not stand behind it. i have had other issues with this truck, but this is the worst. my handle for the tilt steering wheel broke off after 6 months, the back part of the side mirror fell off while i was driving to work one morning. please do whatever has to be done to force a recall. *tr

My driver's side window on my 2005 ford f-150 won't roll up anymore. while doing research for parts i noticed that this is a very common problem with this particular vehicle. the part that is used is defective and should be recalled. it is unsafe for my babies and myself to have to constantly have the window down. the cost to fix the problem is around $500-$900 dollars. i am afraid that in the event of an accident i or my children could be seriously injured without the window in place. ford needs to take responsibility and correct a defect. *tr
