Drivers door ajar light came on & also shift to park. while im driving
Car door sensor on driver's side no longer registering that the door is closed. lights remain on, warning message constantly flashes, and message to shift to park with warning chime goes off every time i stop the vehicle, and the car does will not lock.
Door ajar light and waring stay on after door is closed. warning includes put 'vehicle in park' while driving down road.
Door ajar light stays on even when door is closed. this keeps dome lights on and side mirror lights along with the doors not locking which is a secure/safety issue. also the fact that the dome light can blind the driver at night and this runs the battery down. ford dealerships say its a known defect for new and used vehicles and i opened up a case with ford and they refuse to offset the costs to fix it. they just say keep your receipt in case they ever do a recall. there is a petition on line because it affects so many people. ford needs to address this to avoid lawsuits! its a burden to consumers because the cost to fix is over $500 at a dealership. this happens when stationary and in motion. my wife and baby almost ran off the road because the light won't go off at night and blinds her view. plus it has left her stranded at work with a dead battery. see link for details. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8rlmgeehq38
When turning into a drive way at low speeds the power steering gave out and the breaks and gas pedal were not responding and the low oil pressure to engine message came on the dash. i turned the car off and gave it a few minutes, and when i turned it back on and had it towed to a dealer they couldn't find any code nor could they replicate the problem after having for 3 days. i am worried if this happens again and at higher speeds like when on the highway. i have researched that ford had similar issues with the throttle body on other models and years but not the 2013 edge. this needs to be addressed.
The driver's side door gives off the warning that it is open when the door is closed. checking online it looks like it is the door ajar switch which has been an ongoing problem with fords and i believe they need to recall this issue
'drivers door agar' warning light does not turn off.
Door ajar comes on while the door is closed and you have the open and close the door more than 50 times for it to go off ......ford needs to redesign or replace sensors/ door lock mech. especially not even being 2,000 miles after replacement and from what i've read online with other ford edge owners and other ford vechical owners this is a very common problem
Door ajar switch is is inoperable, which prevents the doors from being locked when the car is underway. it also causes the lights throughout the vehicle to stay on (illuminated) at all times causing a tremendous drain on the battery , leading to repeated battery replacement (which in itself an environmental concern). ford knows this switch is inferior and still they refuse to recall it.
My drivers door ajar light keeps coming on, the dome lights stay lit. i have to keep closing the door until the lights go off when i lock it. the car will not lock while driving when this warning light comes on.
Door ajar sensor stays on as if door is open. dome light stays on and car will not lock properly. whether i am in motion parked or just idle the door ajar signal stays on and i have to open and close the door 2-10 time every time. also, my back up camera is functional but the picture won't come up on the screen.
Door ajar light stays on even after closing the door securely. doors won't auto lock after movement of car. dome lights stay on and jeopardize battery life.
After closing the driver side door, the door ajar light comes on. the doors used to automatically lock as you put it in reverse/drive if all of the doors are closed properly, but the driver side door sensor tells the car door is ajar. this not only annoying to see the pop up, the interior lights stay on which is also a safety issue. ford has received many complaints on this issue but is refusing to do a recall.
Door ajar light comes on even though door is clearly closed. interior light remains on the entire time.
When getting ready to start the vehicle, the drivers side door ajar warning light will come on when the door is firmly shut causing us to continually slam and shut the door until it eventually goes off. the light will also come on when you shift into drive and the doors auto lock causing the repeat action of closing the door multiple times to get the warning light to go off. this also causes the doors to not lock forcing a safety hazard for my grandchildren. this happens while stationary and in motion on busy streets causing us to open and shut the door while driving and/or pulling over to do the same until the light eventually goes off and the doors lock. my husband has been forced to climb in and over to the drivers side through the passenger side to avoid opening the drivers side door. i can not do this due to a bad back.
My ford edge 2013 is not turning off the overhead lights when i close the driver side door and when driving i get a warning stating that the door is ajar.sometimes after slamming the driver door two to three times it goes away.it has become quiet annoying and dangerous when i drive since it becomes a constant distraction.i have gone to the dealer and they state that either the sensor or the latch have become faulty..really?...i think its about time for ford to do a recall and correct this issue since i have talked to other ford owners with the same exact issue in there offices.
My drivers door is closed completly and my door ajar light stays on, my interior lights are on, then will tell me to shift to park when stopping, annoying, driving at night is dangerous, light on , red light on dash distracting the driver, my car has only 58,000 miles on it! called 2 ford dealerships , both advised this is a common problem with these cars?? well why hasn't the ford company did a recall and fix it!! ford prides themselves on being "ford tough" we'll stand behind your vehicles!!
Door latch assembly is faulty and the passenger door always shows ajar.
Door adjar light comes on when the door is shut tight and most of the time the dome light stays on, which is very aggravating if driving at night,.
Door ajar warning on driver side door causes dome light to stay on. slamming the door will sometimes make the light go away. but usually have to drive with dome light on and warning message beeping and flashing every time i stop.
The r/l door ajar warning light stays on. upon investigation i have found that this is a chronic design problem with many ford vehicles.
Driver side door switch sticks and the vehicle computer thinks the door is open when it is closed.
I just purchased my ford edge 2 weeks ago and the rear left door ajar light keeps coming on when the door is not open. i have stopped the car, open and closed the door but the light will still stay on. when we lock the doors at night, the alarm will go off several times in the middle of the night. worried if the doors are even locking at this point. i called a ford dealership and they said it was just a technical service bulletin and not a recall.
Door ajar sensor is faulty, common problem among ford edges. ford refuses to address issue according to all online sources. door is constantly shown as ajar, leading to dead batteries and locking issues.
Just bought 2013 ford edge and the door never shuts so the door ajar keep coming on and the doom light drains my battery
My driver door ajar lite stays on. no matter how hard i shut door. and dom lite stays on
When closing the door the door ajar message comes up on the instrument panel. interior lights will not go off causing problems with night driving. doors will not lock when this happens. when turning vehicle off the interior lights stay on and in turn puts a drain on the battery. there should be a recall on this as it has become an unsafe problem for night driving. this started feb. 2016 and has been a continuous problem since then. speed makes no difference for this problem.
Takata recall i went to the dealer under warranty to have the driver door ajar fixed and requested a new door latch and was told ford sent a tool to fix the problem which lasted 8 months unfortunately out of bumper to bumper. called loveland ford and was told ford is being finicky about the problem and i need to pay for it out of pocket per the corporation really!!!!!!! the car dome light stays on and the computer module tells me to put in park and the door ajar will not go out. it happens randomly driving down the road and when i start the car. i slam the door 5-10 times i am not going to pay them for a car that was over 30k for a problem they covered up? shame on you ford!,,,,,,,,,,
Ford door latch issue- the driver door will not latch when door is shut this causes the lights to come on in the vehicle and warnings to appear on the dash (door ajar, shift to park, etc). i have issues with my car locking because the doors appear to be open. this is an ongoing issue. the dealership cleaned the latch for me and this temporarily solved the problem, however a few months later and its happening again. this is unsafe when i am driving as i do not know if the door is securely shut. it also is a distraction when all of the lights are on and there are warnings flashing on the dashboard. *tr
My 2013 ford edge door ajar light stays on and dings at every stop says door is open and its clearly shut will not lock do to problem, also power booster on brakes are bad and only found out when trien to stop and scares me while approaching lights and stops hard to press. only had a few months and its not looking good
My 2013 ford edge door latch incorrectly reports that the door is open when it is not. this turns the interior lights on and drains the battery, also will not let you turn on the alarm or lock the doors from the inside. constantly chimes and tell you to put in park to shut door.
A door open warning indication comes up and results in dome lights also staying on even when the driver's door is properly closed. requires you to slam the door several times to get this warning to come off. apparently this is a common issue with ford edge vehicles yet ford has yet to issue a recall for this safety issue.
Door ajar indication does not go out when door is closed. the interior light will not go out and the doors will not lock.
Door ajar
Door ajar issue, door is closed and it continually pops up which make the interior lights come on making it dangerous at night. i've had this issue "fixed" once by the dealership less than a ago and it has popped up again. this happens while i the car is stopped and in motion, regardless to where i am at.
The driver door sensor (when the door is shut tightly and secured) keeps turning interior lights on while driving in the dark! this is a safety issue. guess what else happens? my doors will not lock because of this sensor. that is another safety issue on the opposite side of the safety spectrum. if this occurs both driving and while car is not in motion, how does ford value the safety of their customers? hopefully by taking that this should be recalled and make their customers happy. this is disappointing, as well as frustrating because it is happening every single day.
Door ajar warning message. dome light stays on while driving and while parked. necessary to open and close doors multiple times before lights go off and warning message goes away. both when securing the vehicle, and prior to driving off. problem most severe during cold temperatures. standing outside the vehicle for 10-20 minutes in 19 degree weather trying to secure vehicle. started happening from december 2015 to present.
The vehicle was operated at indicated 45 mph by owner on a standard two lane highway in a rural environment. outside air temperature was 48 degrees f. lighting conditions were daylight and sunny. without warning the vista sunroof exploded and shattered glass into the interior of the vehicle. there was no external force such as a projectile that caused the damage. all glass fractures were around each edge at mounting locations. similar cases have been reported and discussed on various forums. in each case, the damage occurs exactly the same way. this is most likely a manufacturing defect and should be considered very dangerous. ford motor company needs to know about this and react before someone gets seriously hurt.
Door ajar signal stays on when door is shut preventing interior lights from going off.
Driver door ajar notification comes on when vehicle is off, keys removed and dome lights remain on after door is closed, locked, and unable to be opened with driver outside of vehicle. has come on while driving on highwayafter car functioning with no notification prior to leaving parked position. requires replacement per dealership. <60,000 miles. multiple complaints re: this issue from other consumers per dealership.
Drivers side door latch. " door ajar" does not go off. causes door locks to not engage when car is in motion. chime rings whenever car stops in traffic. you can reset with acknowledgment, but the alarm immediately goes off when car stops at a light or stop sign. started happening off and on, but as time went on it happened every time driving car.
Door latch malfunction. door is properly closed but sensor doesn't communicate to computer. dome lights stays on, door ajar warning- drains battery when not being driven. doors will not lock/stay locked when vehicle is in motion. poor visibility when reversing in the dark as dome light stays on and reflects on windows. online research shows this is a very common problem with this vehicle- it is a safety issue that the doors will not stay locked when the car is in motion
Door latch sensor says the doors are open. even after repeated shutting/slamming of door. first it started with the driver side rear passenger door. recently it is also happening with the drivers door. with both doors the dash board sensor 'door ajar' comes on, some light stays on for a few minutes(which at night is a huge problem). when the driver door sensor malfunctions the auto locks aslo won't engage, which is another safety issue when you're driving or parked at certain locations. the driver door sensor will also issue a warning to 'shirt in park'. repeated slamming of doors does not fix this issue. rear door issue occurred fall/winter 2015 driver door issue occurred 8/30/16
Drivers door agar light will not go out. doors will not lock and interior lights will stay on
The drivers side door indicator continually says door is ajar when the car is in motion and parked even though the door is in fact shut. i have to slam the door several times to get the vehicle to recognize the door is in fact closed. too many complaints on this issue to not have a recall.
Door latch sensor and assambly is having issues. when the door is closed, the door open chime continues to chime, doom lights stay on and the auto lock will not engage. when leaving the vehicle the remote lock will not work on the doors affected.
Door ajar sensor faulty. the panel shows that a door is ajar which is not. this causes the domelight to turn on for quite a long time. when it happens at night visibility is poor and dangerous. i have already replaced two sensor on one door (drivers side) now going on third (front passenger side) it becomes very dangerous since visibilty at is bad. this complaint is becoming pretty comun. a community of ford customers that really neede help. just hope it does not become a tragedy.
My 2013 ford edge has an issue with the drivers side door closing. the door ajar light stays on even when the door is closed. when the car is off the interior light will stay on because of this issue, it takes slamming the door many times to trigger the lights to go off. now it is at the point we are afraid it won't go off at all or we will damage the door, so we are entering the car through the passenger side in order not to set the issue off again. while driving the door ajar light stays on and i cannot lock my car doors. i heard via the web this is a common problem with the ford edge and other ford models. my vehicle is only two years old and i have brought it back to the dealer to get fixed. they are replacing the door assembly and it is costing me about $400.00 but we cannot continue driving it in this condition. i believe this is a horrible design and there should be a recall and a better fix for this issue. at the rate this is happening i will need to have the door assembly replaced in another two years. i find this unacceptable!
The driver door ajar sensor stays on when the door is closed causing the interior lights to stay on and i am not able to lock the doors while in the vehicle. the false door ajar sensor prevents me from recognizing when there is a real ajar door situation. also, the dome lights stay on at night causing a night driving hazard.
Door ajar sensor will not turn off. lights keep going on while driving.
