The door adjar stays on while driving leaving light dome on causing visibility problems at night. when i get home i always have a hard time closing my door for the light dome to turn off. my battery already died had to buy a new battery and the car was purchased brand new in 2013! a battery should not die that soon! all because this door adjar. please have this recalled. also. i had this problem fixed for a minute when i took the car to get checked at ford when it was still in warranty! they fixed it for the time being but it started to happen again. and my warranty is over!

Door ajar light and alarm bells remain after the door is shut, even after repeated attempts to shut the door. the interior lights remain on which affects ability to see at night. the warning lights and alarms are distracting while driving. the door stays shut but there is no way to know if it is secure. the issue exists after attempts to repair it by a mechanic.
Driver's door alerting as not closed. dome light stays on, door open alert stays on while driving. i have to manually move the door latch to get it to work correctly. sometimes it does not lock, and sometimes it remains locked so i can't close my door. since this started, as i'm driving, the alert comes on to shift my car in park, because the door is open!! i am very concerned for i drive my kids around frequently, and i don't know whether it will close, lock or open!! when i manually move the latch, the alerts go off completely.
Door ajar light stays on and won't register when the front driver's side door is shut. lights will not dim while driving or parked, locks will not work properly either. battery is being drained because of the faulty sensor. ford will not cover repairs, even though my vehicle is still under warranty.

Door latch on drivers door does not turn car computer off when it is opened. computer and radio will remain on unless passenger door is opened and closed. causing a drain on the battery causing it to be replaced. there is no alarm warning when drivers doors is opened. the senor is not working at all. while driving on any road the sensor will not notify you that your drivers door is opened or not closed correctly. the door could open while driving i have taken it to the dealership and was advised by the service adviser that it is a known safety issue but i should wait for the recall to get it fixed. they have had a lot of complaints about the door latch and sensors noticed the issue and had it in the shop 7/14/2016 for this issue after noticing the door was not closed while traveling down the road about to get on freeway and no alerts or warning signs no lights nothing this is a accident waiting to happen and a huge safety issue to my family

Drivers door ajar display is on when the door is closed. takes multiple attempts to close door for the display light to go away. when light is on, doors won't lock and do not know if a real door ajar message is valid. also, car loses power when driving. just loses power and is extremely dangerous if you can't get off the road in time before getting hit. have read many complaints about both safety issues with the edge, door lock sensor and halfshaft retention circlip coming loose.
The door ajar switch is not working correctly, my interior and exterior lights stay on after i lock the doors, the door ajar chime rings the whole time i'm driving. this impedes visibility, attention, and could have adverse safety consequences.

Fuel odor in cabin. every time i put gasoline on it, when trying to turn on, it fails and i have to try several times. while parked it turn off by it self and a red notification saying something like oil pressure appears. i went to dealer and they say is ok. i entered the vin in your site and there are 2 recalls. dealer never contact me about that.
The (drivers side) door ajar light and chime comes on even when the door is closed, causing distracted driving and encourages people to open and shut the door while driving or pull over in less than ideal areas to perform the procedure. eventually this does not solve the problem and you have to press the ok button on the steering wheel repeatedly. eventually this does not solve the problem either and people are forced to find cost effective solutions online. disabling the feature to avoid constant chiming and alarms going off then results in disabling the feature altogether which could result in a door being partially or completely open with driver or passengers not knowing. may be part of another safety issue involving defective latches. will not purchase another ford vehicle again or recommend them to others. this happens while stationary or moving, so after slowing to aq stop (stop sign) and then moving again.
Driver door will not lock while car is running. i get door ajar message even though door is securely closed. when i stop i get shift vehicle to park message. in addition,the interior lights remain on for an extended period of time. this is a big distraction at night time.
The faulty door closed switch and/or design is indicating the drivers side door is open when it is not. this issue is causing all the doors to remain unlocked while driving or unlock during driving if it goes off. this problem has been addressed by the ford dealership twice and now it is out of warranty they do not want to fix it. it needs to be recalled.
Electronic throttle body failure resulting in loss of power . engine stalled while in heavy traffic. driver and 3 passengers endangered while turning left across 2 lanes of oncoming traffic, vehicle stalls creating a deadly situation. vehicle was towed to dealership where upon testing the faulty etb was confirmed . ford won't cover it. vehicle was purchased new in dec. 2012( 35000 miles ). ford has a problem with etb's on other models and extended coverage to 10 years/ 150000 miles . why is my vehicle not covered with such a dangerous part failure?
The door sensor is faulty saying the door is ajar and keeping the dome lights on. i have already put in a new battery because of this the lights stay on all night and day. it doesn't matter if the car is stationary or moving the problem is the same
The driver side door ajar light remains on even when the door is closed. the dealership notified me of the locking sensor/assembly being faulty and that i need to have this changed because the battery can drain. repairs cost about $400 since i was 3,000 miles beyond of the warranty.
My car keeps shutting off while driving. i searched online and there are multiple sites that indicate there was a recall on the electric throttle body. ford says my vin is excluded from this warranty. i feel this needs to be looked at since it may be affecting a wider range than previously discovered.

For the past 4 months the door ajar signal stays on when door is closed. interior light stays on. not able to lock doors while in or outside of the vehicle. while driving (streets or highway) the shift to park indicator lights up, the door ajar indicator comes on, interior lights turn on, all the doors unlock and the door open chimes are heard. this is a serious safety and operation issued with the passengers and vehicle.

Purchased this vehicle march 29, 2016. less than 2 months later the vehicle started randomly stalling and going into limp mode and i had to pull over on the busy dc highway with 2 small children in the back which was extremely dangerous. the check engine light and a wrench light came on but it cut off after a restart. auto zone couldnt read the codes unless the car was malfunctioning at the time which happens randomly. since the car is still within the powertrain warranty i took it to the ford dealership and they diagnosed it as p2111 electric throttle body failure. the advisor agreed that this has been a common problem in ford models and i read that a consumer safety program was started for other ford models with the exact same problem. the advisor said it is not covered by the powertrain warranty and since there is no recall for this problem with ford edges i have to pay $800+ dollars to have it repaired. this is outrageous. apparently someone has to lose their life before ford issues a recall on this known issue. i hope the nhtsa steps in before something tragic happens! ive attached a picture showing the lights on the dash after about the 10th time the car stalled.
Vehicle lost power and would not accelerate when gas pedal was pressed but it never shut down. vehicle stalled but the air conditioning, radio, windows etc continued to work. vehicle's engine stayed on and continued to sputter and the "yellow wrench" engine warning light came on. the vehicle was in a straight forward motion, moving less than 35 mph, in use for less than 5 minutes, the weather was hot and the roadway was dry. the vehicle eventually stopped in the middle of the roadway partially in the intersection. after some research, apparently there are others who have had a similar experience resulting in the replacement of the throttle body assembly.

Door ajar warning keeps coming on when the door is fully shut. when it is showing, the car is unable to lock the doors as the car is moving and the lights stay on making it very difficult to drive at night. not having the doors lock is a major safety issue as we have young children that ride in the car. also, it allows others to open the doors unexpectedly. ford should stand up and fix the safety issue. beyond the safety issue the battery is being drained as the lights stay on and we don't notice it until we go to use the car again.

The driver door ajar light comes on and the shift to park warning comes on the bells dings and all inside lights stay on.whether the car is on or not, the lights stay on. i've had to replace my battery because the lights won't shut off. i cannot open and close the door to get the warning to go off. also the dash lights an overhead lights will come on when no one has even been in the car it's making me crazy!! i called ford customer service ad the told me to try to get my third party warranty to cover the repairs.this is all bull crap, ford needs to recall and repair everyone's problem.
I was at a gas station. i forgot to put the car into "park". however, i was able to take out the key and lock the door. i had my back to the car when i was putting my credit card into the pump. i heard screams as people ran out of the market and yelled that the car was moving down a hill. as i turned i saw my car crash into a parked trailer (18 wheel type.) although there was a lot of damage to my front end and i bent the steel step on the cab no one was hurt. my dog merely flew into the well of the car. i have had many friends check their cars and no one was able to take out the key unless the car was in park. however, these cars were not a ford edge. since the accident i have tested my car many times and i can always pull the key out. as you know when a car is in drive it acts like its in neutral and can react to inertia. at the time i would not have noticed that the car was on a slanted driveway. a child in my car could have had a serious injury. someone not paying attention could have been hit by my car. i checked with my dealer and was told that there are no recalls on the ford edge about my safety issue. local dealer not interested in helping and i can not reach a live person at the ford's world headquarters. there is no prompt for a safety concern.. as of now i am responsible for the damges to my car and to the cab. left front bumper and light damaged.

Vehicle was enroute on northbound i-95 in lorton on a saturday when we heard a loud bang. i pulled over and looked around and under the back of the car. seeing nothing i got back underway. after a few minutes i starting hearing wind noises. after another few minutes the headliner starting to sag. turns out the sunroof was shattered in the front and back. the center was still intact but cracking more and more. taking it into service on monday.

When i close the drivers door the door ajar light stays on and the door is completely shut. with the interior lights on it is almost impossible to see at night due to the lights shining in my eyes. also, the doors will not stay locked with the door ajar light on. with the doors not locking i could be carjacked or my granddaughter could be pulled out of the car while sitting at a stop light or intersection. when exiting the vehicle and the door is not recognized to be shut, the interior and outside mirror lights stay on. i've had the vehicle since march and have less that 45000 miles on it.. the problem started shortly after i purchased the vehicle with less that 40000 miles. ford should be responsible for fixing the problem.
When closing my driver's side door, the door ajar light remains on and the chime goes off, and the dome light stays on, even after slamming the door multiple times. i took it to the dealership and they took the door panel off and "performed a high current cleaning of door ajar connections" at a cost of $154.00 + tax for me.
