While driving on a two lane road at ~45 mph,i struck a deer on the front passenger side of the truck. the air bag deployed but did not come out of the center steering. air bag dust was coming out of the back of the steering wheel, no air bag. i was very confused. the front bumper was pushed in ~2.5 inches. i am fortunate that i did not hit another car, since the airbag malfunctioned on deployment.

" we will never have the repair parts. i drive this truck every day and wonder why my government does not make gm repair these horrible airbags. it was almost as if the service manager was laughing at me for wanting the repair, stated it is just a few pellets and probably want hurt you the driver but might the passage "who knows"! i want this repaired and want to know why 8 years later that i cannot get it repaired?

I was involved in a front end collision with another vehicle while traveling at 45mph on a 4 lane road. another vehicle did not yield and i struck the vehicle in the side while he was stationary. during impact the airbags did not deploy.

Recall on airbags. no remedy from gm. discovered on my own that good 2012 airbags have same part number as my recalled 2011 airbags. dealer will not install good 2012 airbags in my truck. i want you to demand that gm be ordered to replace my recalled airbags with good 2012 airbags.
According to nhtsa my vehicle has an outstanding recall . why has this not been taken care of yet ? i've asked my local chevrolet dealer and was told there's no recall on my vehicle.
May 27,2011 gm annouced a recall of the passeger side air bag on my truck. recall # 16v381. now the dealer tells me gm is asking y'all to allow them cancel this recall. are we the consumer expected to just wait for someone to get killed when one of these defective inflators rupures?? and then gm might do something about it. gm needs to be proactive and not reactive. lets get these fixed before my wife or someone esle gets killed.
Air bag light is on. this is prompting me to think that this is related to the takata recall. my 2011 silverado has less than 100,00 miles. the transmission started making noises, then it stopped. prior to that nothing was indicated as going wrong. one month later, the transmission will not move into gears. i have spent thousands of dollars to purchase this vehicle brand new and i am so disappointed in the service that i am getting out of it.also the interior is deteriorating. my radio dials and heat/air control buttons are faded. the steering wheel is peeling. i even bought extended warranty. my power window went out, fixed by warranty. this truck has too many defects and i am seeking some answers and assisting in correcting these problems.

I contacted 5 dealerships in my area inquiring about replacing the airbag on the recall. i got a call from only one dealership. they told me that they had no idea when they might be able to do the recall repairs.

Takata recall and gm corporations" (takata, gm)) have decided to recall the chevrolet silverado 1500 2011 for defective air bags. takata's decision that the driver and the passenger air bag inflators it supplied to gm are defective and advised the consumers to take the vehicles to the dealers for repair of the air bag. i have done so for the past two years and i always get the same response: no parts available for the air bags repair. how can that be possible when smaller dealers like toyota, nissan, honda, etc. using the same air bags have the parts and have been conducting repairs on vehicles with defective takata's air bags? with this letter, i am requesting with respect for an explanation and a possible solution to this problem that has been going for so long. my silverado truck has only 24 k miles in it and i bought it in 2011. i am afraid to drive it! i am a subscriber of nhtsa. please, response.

I was involved in a collision my airbags fired but did not deploy there was a bad smell in the cab as well as what i would describe as baby powder the fire department said they did not deploy but the smell is what they have ran into when they have deployed so again they fired but did not deploy

Takata recall we have only recently purchased this vehicle,and noticed the air bag light was on. so by looking at the nhtsa website,the info was there that stated there was a recall,but the replacement parts weren't available,as a new owner of this vehicle,how can i be assured to know that i will be contacted when the parts are available??also what can i do to keep my family safe until the repair is complete??
Instrument panel cracked at passenger airbag instrument panel potentially causing harm to a passenger if airbag does not deploy correctly. i just noticed this crack and 2 others appearing across the instrument panel.
Takata recall and another issue of power loss----- i have taken my truch to the dealership to have the takata air bags replaces and they told me that they do not have the parts to replace them. power loss: i can be driving and the vehicle goes into a drastic and immediate power reduction. i have nearly bee rear-ended several times and the vehicle jerks suddenly throwing everything forward as though it is nearly a sudden stop. it will not drive over 20 mph when this happens. it will not reset until i pull over, remove, and reassemble, the battery cables. this happens during, and following, every rainy day. it also happens for no specified reason. it happened 3 times in the last 24 hours--no rain at all.

Takata recall... i called the dealer about the recall. the service department said there is no replacement available at the time, gm will call when there is a replacement. what do we do in the mean time? do we wait until something happens and then sue gm? i am curious because i don't want a loved one getting hurt or killed before the airbag is replaced.

Takata recall-received a recall letter in july 2016 stating the airbags are defective and that gm will conduct a recall if they are not able to prove to nhtsa they are safe. gm recall 49151. november 2017 received notice of takata bankruptcy proceedings. following notice i phoned the dealer who sold me the vehicle and was given voicemail. i left a message but they did not return my call. subsequently phoned gm to inquire into status of recall. i was told my vehicle was safe to drive and that gm was still working with nhtsa. i was told i would be notified if the airbags needed to be replaced. my complaint is that there should be a decision by now. other manufacturers have already completed recalls and repairs. with takata filing for bankruptcy and gm not making repairs who will take responsibility for the repairs or any associated injuries/deaths?
1/08/2017- bakersfield, ca. passenger side airbag, for my model it has been identified as defective. received legal notice this date from tk holdings inc, monroe wi. they are debtors, who filed chapter 11 for takata corporation. they stated take your vehicle to local dealership immediately to schedule a free repair on a defective or potentially defective airbag inflator. i've known about this issue for over a year now. general motors, takata corporation are in a legal battle over this airbag issue. in the mean time citizens of our great country are going to be impacted by this continue delay, and cost of all parties involved to prevail in court. the federal govt. natl. transportation safety board needs to intervene, and stop this airbag crisis. i would classify this matter as a natl. security & safety threat because lives will be loss. everyone involved are not accepting responsibility for this serious dilemma, due to ongoing litigation. i very rarely allow anyone now in my truck, minor fender-bender, airbag deployment, extraction metal shrapnel. maybe i can get our washington dc senator of our district apply a little pressure on this matter, election time in 2018, look what happened on 10/07/17, state of virginia , state of new jersey, both republicans loss to democrats. this is not time for politics. lives are and will be loss.
I have called and asked from them to do something about our recall and they say at this time chevrolet has no resolution and to wait.
