My dashboard cracking
According to nhtsa my vehicle has an outstanding recall . why has this not been taken care of yet ? i've asked my local chevrolet dealer and was told there's no recall on my vehicle.
When attempting to start vehicle i stop leave it in start position and it will start by itself when not attempting to start. after this when put into gear it will shut off when this happens.
While driving, the stabiltrak,abs lights come on and the vehicle powers down and barely moves. this has happened on several occasions, mostly during cold weather, although it has happened in warm weather at highway speeds, creating a dangerous situation while trying to maneuver out of traffic. on one occasion, the vehicle was towed to a chevrolet dealership and when checked over they reported that nothing could be found. the vehicle operated normally after sitting there all night. this is dangerous! i have read many instances of the same thing happening to other silverado owners. please check into this. this has happened at least 5 times, the latest around january of 2019.

Takata recall - there has been a recall on our vehicle since 2016 with no remedy available and is preventing us from turning in to our fleet management. please post a remedy or remove the recall!
Dashboard has cracked and broken in 2 separate places. top left of the passenger airbag and top left of the instrument cluster with a piece broken out. this is a safety hazard with plastic pieces that can become projectiles or cut the airbag in the event of a crash. this is a common problem on many models and will get worse as the plastic has become brittle. vehicle is a 2011 year with 82000 miles.
My dash has cracked significantly in three different places at different times. it is unknown to me what caused the first two cracks, but the most recent occurred while i was driving down the road. this not only affects the value of the vehicle, but also worries me that in the event of an accident, it may affect the airbags or even project pieces of the dash towards anyone in the vehicle.

Within 2 day, 2 cracks appeared on my dash. they are in the same spots as others have complained on the net. top left corner of passenger air bad to windshield and behind the instrument cluster to windshield.
Airbags and nothing up front works
Ignition lock cylinder binding recall ignition position gets stuck on start position and can be a potential safety hazard . my vin on my 2011 chevy silverado doee not come up as recall but only certain 2011 chevy silverados but mine has the same safety hazard
The dash on my 2011 chevy silverado lt has numerous cracks both on the visible parts, but more importantly around the bolts and screws that fasten it in place. my concern is that it is no longer structurally sound and that it could fail causing injury. this dash houses the passenger side air back and it has two cracks that touch the air bag. it is my concern that this is a safety issue. the dash is virtually cracked from one in to the other and the vehicle only has 64,000 miles.

Dash cracking in several places. had replaced w/in 12,000 miles and now needs replacing again. also cigarette lighter covers and usb cover have broken at least 4 times. handle latch on console broke off while not in use.

Crack on dash at the airbag , it just cracked for no reason . its right at the airbag , afraid that if airbag goes off the broke piece will fly out and hit someone. or the airbag will get a hole in it . it was stationary.

I bought my 2011 silverado with only 36,000 miles on it, before it ever reached 40,000 the dash cracked in the corner of the passenger airbag, and now above the odometer. i'm concerned for the safety of myself and my family if the airbag was to go off and send shards of sharp plastic though the vehicle. i would appreciate gm recalling and fixing the issue that they are already aware of.

The dash in my 2011 chevrolet silverado 1500 has a crack in the dash at the top left hand corner of the passenger air bag. my opinion is that this could cause a safety issue. either the air bag could fail to work properly or potentially be damaged. chevrolet has known about this issue and has chosen not to voluntarily take care of it.
Dashboard cracking and breaking around airbag. possible plastic shrapnel in event of airbag deployment. in my time of ownership exposure to elements has always been limited with use of covered parking or sunshade. chemicals have never been introduced to the affected area.

My dashboard cracked while driving down the road this morning. on the highway.
A crack appeared in the dash causing a separation in the section behind the airbag i am concerned the pieces could cause injury if airbag is deployed.
The dash is cracking near the instrument cluster and near the air bag. i use a sunscreen, but this seems to be a common issue. this is too expensive and well taken care of a vehicle. i worries me that there may be some safety issues with a cracked plastic dash in case of accident.

Dash cracked around the passenger side air bag.
The dashboard has cracked on the passenger side of the vehicle, running from the top left corner of the passenger side airbag to the right edge of the central air vent. i am concerned that this crack could jeopardize the efficacy of the passenger airbag should deploy, whether the crack prevents the airbag from fully opening and/or puncturing the airbag once it does open. furthermore, shards of the dashboard could cause harm if the airbag does deploy. i am not certain when the crack first developed, but noticed it earlier today.
Dash cracks at passenger side air bag is this a problem if the bag went off will the broken piece of dash board go with it. also loose body side moldings had repaired under warranty and came off again luckily it didn't come off while driving.
Driver side inside door handle broke off while parked as i was exiting vehicle.. inspection of handle showed a crack on the handle where it broke. it appears to be a defect of manufacture and design. the repair required the complete replacement of the driver side door panel at considerable expense. the potential for safe egress from the vehicle in an emergency is of concern.
My 2011 silverdo dash is cracking by the passanger air bag and above the instrument panel. the cracks get bigger in cold temperatures and cause a bigger gap in the cold temperatures. as the weather gets warm the gap gets smaller. this crack is due to a defect in the dash material. i fear that if i were to get into a accident that pieces from the dash could cut the air bag if deployed causing serious or fiscal damage to myself or others riding in my truck. if others are injured in my truck due to my dash pieces cutting my air bag will i be sued because of a gm dash defect? i would also like to mention the clear plastic in my dash cluster is cracking. you touch it and it falls apart. why?

Very upsetting that gm had to have known takata air bags are installed and we were never informed. i would have never known my vehicle wasn't safe, if i wasn't on this site researching safe car for my teen to drive. i would like to know exactly when our life's are important enough to have recall letters sent? should we all go out and purchase face shield helmets for the family while we wait?????? i also read complaints regarding cracking in dash panel. i too have hairline cracking driver's side where airbag is installed. please send recall letters as i called my local dealer and was told nothing can be done till i receive the actual letter. this new bulletin was posted months ago. it's now august 2016.

Takata recall. for the past year plus, the dealer (paradise/cadillac) in temecula ca. has refused to repair the airbag and inflator on recall. my vehicle has been given high priority because of its age and high temperature where i live. i stop driving it because of fear for myself and family. it only has 24,500 miles in it.
Cracking on the dashboard of a very well kept low mileage truck. worried about safety around passenger air bag as well as the quality of the vehicle in general. a sunshade has been used since day one and the truck has never been off-road or in a position to where this should happen. gm should be held liable and fix this problem. now a $49,000 truck seems very cheap and am worried about the safety of passengers.
Cracking dash. has been replaced two times now. cracks have occurred in the same places both times and similar to the thousands of photos online when searching for gm cracked dash or a similar variant. cracks expose mechanical parts under the dash and are brittle but very sharp when separated from the dash. date entered was today but instances started in 2011 and then approx 1 year after the first replacement. last replacement took place in march of 2016.
I own a 2011 check silverado i clean my truck regularly an take good care of it i have less then 50,000 miles on it. i found a crack in my dash running from the corner of my passage airbag. i feel that it's a big safety hazard considering if someone crashes into me and the airbag deploys jagged chunks of dash could possibly impale myself or my pregnant wife. i did some research an seen that thousands of chevy models are having the same issue because of manufactorer negligence an i feel that this is enough of a safety hazard to where something needs to be done about this.
Dashboard has cracked at upper left hand corner of passenger air bag and above driver side instrument panel. crack at air bag is worrisome in event that it may effect air bag deployment.
The dashboard has cracked at the top left of the passenger side airbag. this was noticed the other day while driving. vehicle is very well cared for.
Cracked passenger side dashboard. picture shows the crack just beginning from the airbag area to going towards the vent. this is a known issue in gm vehicles, my truck is a 2011 model.
