Takata recall i have pursued through the chevrolet dealerships for over a year a remedy to the airbag recall. my understanding is that they were to provide a free repair or replacement of the airbag inflators. every time i have called to get a repair scheduled, they have either told me that the repairs are not available, or that the parts aren't currently available, and they will call me when they are. every time i follow up on that call, they seem to not have my information. i just read something online saying that they were supposed to have a final decision from the nhtsa in august 2017 reference my vehicle and others. it is now november, i received another recall notice in the mail recently, and still the chevrolet dealerships are not cooperating in the repair process.

Received notice today from "tk holdings inc." that takata has filed ch.11 bankrupcy in the us & mexico. states to contact my local dealership to schedule a free repair. my local dealer hasn't been given direction from general motors on how to proceed. i haven't had a problem (yet) but how can i know whether i'm driving a vehicle that may have an air bag blow at any time? is the nhtsa going to hold the vehicle manufacturers responsibility for including dangerous/potentially dangerous parts? and general motors can't even tell me if my vehicle is dangerous and they do not have a resolution for this federal recall.

Regarding the takata recall, i received recall notice 49151 from gm on 7/2016 for my chevy truck. it said "you will be notified when parts are available..." that was well over a year ago! i spoke with gm customer service today on 10/14/2017 about this and all the young man said was that there is nothing to worry about. evidently gm and takata are in some kind of disagreement over the airbag issue while my family driving around in a vehicle with defective airbags. also, the dashboard by the passenger airbag compartment cracked about 6 months ago and this really concerns me. please help!

There is a crack on the dash that runs along the compartment housing the passenger side air bag. this crack could potentially tear the airbag upon deployment making it useless in the event of a crash. the dealership informed me this was a common occurrence and it could be replaced but that the replacement may crack due to body shifting during operation and sun exposure. now the dash is beginning to crack in other places (stress fractures). not sure when these cracks started whether the vehicle was in motion or stationary.
Drivers side airbag not working. paid 100.00 to have it checked and it has recall. unable to use horn or cruise control. worried if in an accident will not have drivers airbag.
I bought my 2011 silverado with only 36,000 miles on it, before it ever reached 40,000 the dash cracked in the corner of the passenger airbag, and now above the odometer. i'm concerned for the safety of myself and my family if the airbag was to go off and send shards of sharp plastic though the vehicle. i would appreciate gm recalling and fixing the issue that they are already aware of.

Takata recalls: nothing has happened al of today. if the piece of crap car salesman at the lot where we bought this truck a year ago would have given us a car fax as we ask and then when back for and written for we would not have bought the truck. now my question is why do we have to wait for injury or death due to this company selling defective merchandise, why hasn't there been a fix, solution, or something done about this problem? why are american consumers subjected to this danger and these big corporate companies get away with it. i have family and a small great grandson that rides with me. why should i have to worry about their safety when i put them i my vehicle? if you want the name of the crooked car lot doing this stuff, please let me know i would love to blast them all over the world. now the bottom line what is going to be done about this problem before we die or are bleinded for life??? this is ridiculous.

Takata recall: i have faxed and emailed ceo and executives of general motors several times each day regarding this matter. i am going on vacation and do not feel safe driving the vehicle with these airbags. the notice that we just received this month, stated the vehicles are currently safe to drive. it does not state anything about in the future (i.e. next month, next week, etc.). they knew about the defect but just decided to send out recall notices late last month. i want a rental car for the week i need to drive out of town, at their expense, because we should have notified earlier and they will not verify (the executives) nor backup the engineering department that the vehicles are safe to drive. i want a letter from the ceo that verifies this or a rental vehicle for one week until my vehicle is repaired. we live in hot texas and the vehicle is always exposed to hot and humid temperatures! this vehicle is not safe.
