Recently reported POWER TRAIN problems on 2012 Chevrolet Cruze

On multiple occasions while car is driving, check engine light turned on and car was unable to accelerate. (also happened once after car had been parked) it only lasts about an hour before car can accelerate again and then check engine light will eventually turn off. also, car feels rough shifting between gears and has trouble accelerating often.

My service engine light has come on and not it will not shift gears all the time. sometimes it drives forward. sometimes it doesn't. i need this issue to be addressed. when you have over 100 complaints for the same thing corporate needs to listen. if someone dies because of this no amount of compensation will be enough

When driving my vehicle (2012 chevy cruze) on the highway (i-75 north between auburn hills and clarkston), the check engine light appears, rpm's fluctuate and the automobile loses acceleration even though the accelerator is depressed. the dashboard cluster light (p, r, d) blinks rapidly. the vehicle could not accelerate and the engine seems to lose power. the vehicle did this multiple times as power and acceleration was lost. upon receiving a diagnostic reading, the code indicated a transmission control system or output shaft speed sensor. i am submitting this complaint due to the unsafe deceleration of speed on the highway during rush hour traffic. the potential for a fatal accident is great. additionally, this model seems to have an issue due to several on-line inquiries and complaints.

The vehicle has only 80,000 miles on it and it just quit running.i was able to have someone help to push it out of the road. i was told by a repair shop that the transmission is bad. i understand that gm is aware of the bad transmission but have not recalled the vehicle to fix it.

Transmission went out at 46,942 miles in 2012 chevrolet cruze on 10/14/19. i was on my way home from work at night. luckily i was on a small, empty road in town close to home. the engine revved but would not up shift. i pulled over and shut the car off hoping it might be a computer issue. when i turned it back on, the shifter moved but the transmission would not shift out of park. towed it to my dealer, were it has always been serviced. the cause was a wave plate failure; gears 3-5-r were lost. decided to replace the transmission with a new one to the tune of $4,500. contacted gm/chevrolet. was told that there was nothing that could be done as far as financial assistance goes. the car was out of the 5-year/100,000 warranty period. i had just finished paying it off. this car has less than 50,000 miles, and is conservatively driven. the original brake pads still have half their life left. it is a problem when a modern car can not get to 50,000 before a catastrophic failure like this happens. i sent gm corporate a letter of complaint asking them to investigate the old transmission. consumers should not have to pay the price of a shoddy product. what happens when this causes serious issues? i was given a $100 voucher for future repairs or services for my trouble. that was a kindness from a customer service standpoint, but not on a corporate level. i wanted my issue to be heard by the bosses, but like any big company it goes unheard and disregarded. people need to speak out against big companies. i understand sometimes things break, but not when the machine is taken care of. flukes don't happen consistently, and this is a consistent problem with these drive trains. i was going to keep the car anyway and get a newer one in the spring. not now. now i have to pay on it for another year. i hope this does some good if just to give people a warning.

Our chevy cruze had started shifting strange while driving, losing power and it would start to idle rough, and just shut off, a day later the engine light came on and we ran a code scanner on it to find out what was wrong. 7 error codes came up and it all led to a failed pcv valve. two days later it was in the shop and we are now faced with a major repair cost.

I noticed that my vehicle seemed to be having issues when i pressed on the brake, so i took it in. i found out that it was a completely unrelated issue, and had to do with a crack running through the manifold. this was causing oil and coolant to leak onto the alternator. if i had not caught this early enough, they said i would have not been able to get it fixed. they repaired the leak, but a couple weeks later i noticed my car losing significant amounts of coolant/oil. this is causing oil and coolant to affect the turbo setting of my manual car, and has cost me up to $2,000 in repairs. this has been the underlying problem as to why i had to get my flywheel replaced 2 years ago, which was another $1,500. this is also what caused the transmission failure 3 years ago, another thousand dollars. i noted that the vehicle began leaking fluid after being stationary or moving while/after running for 10 minutes or longer.

The transmission related to reverse, 3rd and 5th gear and the transition between gears went out. no real warning before this happened. vehicle was stationary when it wouldn't work in reverse, then would not drive more than 24 mph on road.

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 chevrolet cruze. while driving 70 mph, the vehicle unintentionally decelerated. when the failure occurred, the vehicle took time to accelerate and the check engine indicator illuminated. also, while the vehicle was at a stop light, it violently vibrated and stalled, but was able to restart. the vehicle was taken to feldman chevrolet of lansing (2801 e michigan ave, lansing, mi 48912, (517) 507-4948) where the contact was informed that the turbo in the engine needed to be replaced. the contact mentioned that the part was previously repaired. the vehicle was not repaired again. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 150,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 chevrolet cruze. while driving 50 mph, the vehicle began swerving across the road and the contact lost complete control. the vehicle also made an abnormal animal sound, similar to a cow moo-ing. in addition, the vehicle accelerated on its own and jerked violently back and forth. the contact was able to pull the vehicle over as it lost power. the check engine indicator illuminated. the vehicle was towed to jimmy vasser chevrolet (583 soscol ave, napa, ca 94559, (707) 255-7600) to be diagnosed, but no failures were found. the mechanic stated that there was no failure with the vehicle. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failures and stated that a new transmission was needed. the manufacturer offered to pay 10% of the repair cost. the failure mileage was 123,000. the vin was unknown.

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 chevrolet cruze. while driving, the check engine indicator illuminated. the contact stated that the vehicle jerked and shuddered, and the transmission shifting was affected. the contact provided the dealer (turner chevrolet, 1251 paxton st, harrisburg, pa 17104, (866) 629-7151) with engine codes: p015b (o2 sensor delayed response for oxygen sensor) and po171 (bank 1 system 2 lean). the dealer was supposed to call the contact back to explain the codes. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not notified. the failure mileage was 96,600.

Purchased my 2012 chevy cruze march of 2016. july 2016 the car will continue to run after the key was out ignition i took it to naperville chevy they changed thermostat. october 2016 the car would run on highway or street all of a sudden service traction light comes on the car only go to 20mph suddenly then it will turn off. took it to chevy again they said trans module they fixed it march 2017 it happened again they didn't know the problem because no engine light on it happened every 4 months october 2018 trans line leaking with the same sign no faster than 20mph jerking they fixed lines january 2019 car jerking again car goes 20 mph but the car will stop at stop sign and will i accelerate to go the car won't move at all i have to turn it off to drive again

Car was stopped at a red light, ready to make a left-turn and completely shut off for no reason. it turned on after some minutes but there are many complaints online (https://www.cargurus.com/cars/discussion-t65940_ds765514) of the same issue with this make and model (including newer ones), a lot being while the car is actually driving. this is so dangerous!! we don't feel safe continuing to operate the car since finding out it's a recurrent problem for people with this car who have had no resolution even after filing multiple claims with car company and taking it to the mechanic.

The oil housing unit is leaking causing oil to leak into the engine and burn potentially causing a fire.

From the time i bought this vehicle (off lease) the transmission never felt right. the car would jerk from gear to gear and the rpms would sky rocket. i expressed this concern multiple times with the dealership i bought the car from and they assured me everything was okay and that it was just the type of transmission. after just getting my car out of the shop for a separate issue the cruze left me on the side of a very busy highway that is notorious for accidents. as i tried to speed up the rpms would once again sky rocket but the car would not accelerate. after about a minute of this happening i pulled over to the side of the road. after putting the car in park i sat for a moment. when trying to drive the car just would not move. i tried forward and reverse and neither worked. so there i sat with car whizzing by me with a car that did not work. after towing the car to the shop he gave me the gut wrenching new that my 7 year old car's transmission is shot. i now have a $4,000 repair which i cannot afford. oh and the kicker is i owe $8,000 still.

2012 chevrolet cruze ls with 51,000 miles. event occurred nov. 25, 2018. without prior symptoms, the car began to jerk while driving forward at city speeds. made it to destination a short distance away. check engine light came on. attempted to move car, and the reverse gear would not engage. drove (limped) the car in d to a local autozone to have the trouble code read. p0700 tcm issue. still no reverse. upon leaving, nosed out on busy 5 lane thoroughfare and the car no longer would go forward as the transmission had disengaged. could have been disastrous if this occurred in the middle of the busy road. pushed the car back to the autozone lot. nov 26, 2018 called gm and opened a case but was told there are no recalls and we are out of warranty, must have a certified gm shop assess the issue at our cost. nov 27, 2018 towed to local gm dealer where car was purchased for evaluation. complaint:this car is out of warranty on time only. it has a sealed tranny and the first recommended fluid change is 97,500 miles. obviously driven carefully and daily without neglect for only 51,000 miles. should not have major un-warrantied transmission issues. researched this condition on forums etc. there are enough instances with very similar or same symptoms that gm knows of this and should make it good.

After several trips to dealer for coolant issues, car was fine for awhile. noticed low coolant yet again, filled it and 2 weeks later during oil change was informed that i had no coolant. 3 days later transmission failed while driving on the freeway during rush hour traffic, i was able fortunately, to pull it over to the shoulder and had it towed. very dangerous situation! 120.000 miles and no prior indication of any issues. just contacted chevrolet to see if any assistance is available. this car has been great except for the coolant issues....until this! the car is no longer driveable!

I have had my car since 2012 and have not had any issues, until now. my car was running fine when out of the blue, while driving home from work on a city street, my car would not go over 30 mph. i was able to make it home and when i went to take it to a dealer to have it looked at, i could not back the car out the garage. the car would go forward, but not back. i had to have the car towed to the dealer where he was able to diagnose the car with a broken shifter plate that damaged other parts of the transmission. i regularly maintenance my car and only have 60,409 miles on it (mostly highway miles). a car this young and with that few miles should not have transmission issues. i looked up the issue and it seems to be common with this car (see the below links). since this is not a normal wear and tear issue, it seems to be a manufacturing problem, i am requesting that a service bulletin or recall be issued so no other person deals with this issue. i also ask that you review the attached repair documents so that i may get some sort of compensation for the repairs. i take care of my car and should not have had to spend almost $4,000 for repairs that were not due to neglect. https://www.carcomplaints.com/chevrolet/cruze/2012/transmission/transmission_failure.shtml https://www.cruzetalk.com/forum/25-gen1-service-issues/114713-transmission-problems.html https://www.cruzetalk.com/forum/9-general-discussion/208234-help-2012-cruze-wont-go-reverse-neutral.html

Transmission module control bad. car jerks when put in gear and takes off very slow or not at all. very dangerous.

While in motion driving down a major city street... without any dash lights/warning lights the vehicle would no longer accelerate and stopped moving. the vehicle was dead without prier warning. i did not have enough time to pull over on the side of the road creating a very dangerous situation for me. after getting the vehicle towed, i was told that the transmission had failed.

Every time i take a long trip on the high way i get a transmission hot idle engine message. i idle for about 3 mins and i go off i see a lot of cars have a similar problem it must be a recall on the transmission. also looking under the hood it's transmission fluid all on the top

My transmission was shifting hard then i parked it got back in put in reverse and it won't move,it moved in drive so many feet making horrible noise and then went out of gear...now won't move at all

My car is very dangerous! shuts off while on freeway! jerks forward while on brakes, caused an accident! cruise control does not work! electrical things flashing all the time! jerks and locks up all 4 wheels while driving! just today is shut down on the highway i struggled to get it home while the rpm's were up above 6! you name it, it has it. think there should be a class action lawsuit against the makers of this vehicle!! class action lawsuit!!!!!

2012 cruze lt. the third turbo was installed 2 days before extended warranty expired. it has 56668 miles now. i spent 4 hours putting glue putty in the cracks on the bottom intake manifold, to plenum junction corners of cylinders 2 and 4 because of the gm plastic [xxx], curing the low boost and lean mixture codes at idle, on easter. the first month i had the car the transmission would start in first skip second gear rev up then chirp the tires until it warmed up, and was fixed by a program change to a lesser version and now at the higher mileage it waits before it engages first at all. another neat thing is to turn left at 5mph hard and feel the car do a jig to the right for an instant before continuing on with the turn. lastly, the water pump was replaced along with a cracked water outlet but not the rotted recirculation overflow hose that broke at 4 am to my fishing hole in september. i can say that the 2017 cruze must be better because the dumdums paid by the gm insurance company to change oil put more new oil in the motor without draining it first. no serious issues for a whole week i might be able to drive it by may it's been 5 months since then. fyi the dealership who performed this fancy work is not in riverton either.

2012 cruz new from the dealer and never had an issue with my car other than a water pump only reg mat always praised how great my car was and it is the first new car i ever bought. my car has 69k miles on it and my warranty was 5yrs 100k my warranty was just up this past oct and sunday my car wouldn't accelerate or shift and sounded horrible in reverse. i had my car towed to my work for diagnostics and there were issues with the trans so we tried to drive it to the dealer and it didnt make it so yet another tow. the dealer had to diagnose the car which was $125.00 i got a call late afternoon the next day and was told the 3t and 5t wave / clutch plates broke in my car and they would need to replace them as well as the clutch, piston, seals, ect and the cost would be $3100.00 please also keep in mind i owe $900 on the car, the service dept said we hope gm will pay for majority or most of the cost bc this shouldn't have happened. i was told that they would only cover 30% so out of pocket about $2200 i said that if its something that shouldn't have happened why would i have to pay so much i know i'm 5 months out warranty but im still under 100k miles i called gm and asked about good faith warranty and stated my situation. two days later they and i was told that they will not help anymore with the cost, bc of the yr warranty, ive only bought one car from the dealer, and i did not take my car to the dealer for routine mat.... i told the rep that my dad who is a mechanic did my oil or my work bc i work at a repair shop and if you were me you would do the same and this rep told me " i don't go to the dealer i go to walmart!" i also asked about goodfaithwarranty and she stated "we dont do that on our vehicles" needless to say i am very disappointed all around trans dont go out on cars with 69k miles repairs were $2610.00 and an additional $331.00 for diag and towing.

Overheating. loud noise in engine with loss of power that we determined to be the turbo. cars breaks have been changed several times since purchase. consistent warning lights on dash. the car has a very loud rattling sound when driving. it isn't as lound when sitting still at a redlight.

Three transmission failures in 5-1/2 years, with total mileage approximately 45,000..all three failures occurred on interstates, resulting in loss of power & drivability causing immediate and severe danger of high-speed collision form other traffic. first failure in april 2013 after 6 months of ownership, under 1,500 miles. clutch plate disintegrated. problem was determined to be a factory defect of the transmissiom; car was repaired by gm (not replaced). in may 2014 complained to dealer (hawk chevrolet of bridgeview) of problems with clutch - that it was falling to the floor, there was difficulty shifting. dealer claimed to be unable to find any problem. complaimed of same problem in october 2014 (gm case 71-1379518666); again dealer "unable to find a problem". 2nd failure occurred august 2015; clutch plate was stuck to transaxle. mileage was 14,500. gm case #8-1545250753. gm tried to attribute failure to "normal wear". ultimate covered the repair but refused to admit any defect. 3rd failure occurred march 9, 2018. again, clutch pedal fell to floor and car became undrivable. car was towed to dealer. gm case #8-4000371239.

The transmission will not hold the car it will roll backward when on an slight incline. while on my way to work i was slowing to cross a set of train tracks on a state highway in a small town and the transmission went completely out. luckily i was able to get off the tracks. i am unsure of the name of the part that is broken. after talking to many many transmission specialists i have found that this happens very frequently. it seems the exact same thing that recall 14234 was issued for has also effected the cruze. i did have to have the car towed home.

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 chevrolet cruze. while driving various speeds, the transmission failed. the contact stated that the vehicle accelerated improperly between the third and fifth gears. furthermore, the vehicle failed to accelerate forward in the middle of oncoming traffic on several occasions. the contact stated that the vehicle's manual transmission would not shift properly after it was engaged in third gear. the vehicle failed to accelerate to highway speeds, when necessary. an independent mechanic was made aware of the failures. autonation chevrolet laurel (500 washington blvd, laurel, maryland 20707, (240) 294-5149) requested that a diagnostic be performed on the vehicle. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 80,560.

As i was driving downhill from flagstaff to phoenix, arizona, i noticed my car wasn't accelerating the way it should. so, i was driving from a 7000 feet elevation to a 2000 feet elevation on steep hills not understanding why i didn't have full control over my car. it was scary to say the least. i brought my car to my chevy dealer 3 times before it finally did this and it finally gave out on me 2 days after the warranty expired. i went to the dealer 3 times to fix the issue until my transmission finally decided to give out on me. and now chevy is saying that they can't help me at all.

While driving my car would not accelerate. the car will not move when changing gears. i took the car to the dealership because the check engine light and stabilik service light came on. the mechanic diagnosed the car and replaced a connector. now, the car gears don't work. misdiagnosis.

I have a 2012 chevy cruze lt, it doesn't even have 75k and i've only had it for 2 years. driving through north little rock on the interstate my temperature gage shot from cool to red, my car dinged and posted a message a/c off due to high engine temps. my a/c was not on, as i was pulling over another message dinged and my engine power was reduced. i let the car idle as the next message instructed me to do, the temp would not go down. i turned the car off and called for a ride. thankfully a nlr police officer sat with me until my boyfriend came as i was broke down on a bad side of town. that being said, we had the car towed to our ase independent mechanic to have it diagnosed as we thought it was just the thermostat sticking. nope! blown head gasket! all because of a faulty water inlet. it is a known problem all across the forums. my mechanic had replaced numerous inlets on these cars and chevy had yet to do a recall. i contacted gm and filed a complaint. they are only replacing faulty water pumps, even though the water pump replacement parts include the water inlet. i was told i had to have it diagnosed by their dealership and after much back and forth finally got the diagnostic fee waived. i received a call today from the dealer informing me that i have a cracked head, warped gasket, and need to replace the engine. this is all due to a defect the manufacturer knows about. to too it off the power train warranty expired in march and my extended warranty expired 5k miles ago. chevy wants me to pay out of pocket to replace all the damage that occurred from their defect. i am contacting the bbb, my attorney general, and any news outlet i can to get this issue brought to light. with a vehicle just over 5 years old and not even 100,000 miles on it to have to replace an engine is ludicrous.

How many complaints have been made as the transmission can seem laggy an unresponsive at times in these vehicles. i purchased this vehicle at 42000 miles and at 70,000 miles the transmission has went out. while going down the road the transmission lags as in it doesn't have enough fluid or it is slamming into gear. oh going down the road and switching gears you hear clunk and it jerks you back in your seat. the shifter indicator on the dash when put into drive will not appear all the time causing engine to misfire turning off traction control and stability causing the car to go into limp mode when starting the car from the stationary position. as of yesterday when shifting into gear the transmission went completely out. car was taken to the dealership told it was out of warranty and would have to pay for the repairs. car was actually produced in 2011 the year that chevy did have recall on the chevrolet cruzes for transmission issues. car was bought november 2011 by previous owner.

On august 19, 2017, i was on the road, drove passed south center mall when i felt that there was something wrong with my engine because it wasn't driving fast as usual. i pulled over to the side of the road, at inspirus credit union in tukwila to check the engine if it was okay when i smelled a faint scent of smoke. i drove back home to park it for fear of the engine exploding. our family mechanic checked the engine and said that the fan is too loud as if something is causing it to be overworked. the engine fan has always been loud after my oil change on july 21, 2017. the engine light has not been turned off since the oil change and i know that there is something wrong with the vehicle. also, i entered the vin number online and it said that the recall on my car is incomplete. the dealer did not inform me about the recall nor mentioned anything about it when i bought it. they did not give me a written letter of the recall or even specified the recall being incomplete.

Transmission failed on a busy highway out of nowhere. i slowed down due to traffic, and my vehicle stalled. i felt a shudder / pop, and i was not able to accelerate to get my car moving again. i was lucky not to be in a serious accident. conveniently failed right out of warranty.

Valve cover replacement - my car has had various codes going for months. these various codes all point to an emissions leak from the valve cover and now i have to replace this and it is one entire unit. i see many complaints about these springs and valve covers. if chevrolet knew it was a problem, why wouldn't they recall these and fix this before making a single mom like me whose trying to go back to school, pay for this! i have to worry about pulling out in front someone and the car stalling and risking my and my children's lives all because chevy used a cheap, poorly designed part for this!

2012 check cruze w vin number that shows no recall has the same problem as recalled cars. dated and mfrd in the same months. transmission problem "surging" or jumping out of gear and then back in. later the car did not go in reverse from a parked position and finally, the car stopped 100% and would not drive. at no time was the car being raced, at highway speeds or struggling with large hills or etc. speeds were at side road speeds of 0(parking lot) -25-35 mph zones. mileage is at 72,000 miles clearly within the 1000,000 mile timeframe. this transmission problem from looking at all of the reported across the net should be definitively on recall as i've read many reviews about the 2011 and 2012 models having these transmission problems. all 2012 models not just some of the dates. it clearly appears that all months of 2012 models were affected.

(this letter is about holding individuals accountable for their responsibilities.) we purchased a new car in 2012 a chevy cruze , the transmission failed on 7-15-2017 it needs a rebuild . ( this to us is unacceptable ) we have never had a vehicle with this issue . we always take care of preventive maintenance on time and when it's due. the fluids in this car are never low or leaking , it never pulls or hauls loads, it's never abused or overheated to cause this issue. we had the car towed by aaa 7-17-2017 to master transmission in rosemount mn , after learning this will cost $3500.00 to repair , we called chevrolet customer assistance center at 1-800-222-1020 on 7-18-2017 talked to arleen, we explained our situation she took our information , gave us a case # 8-3096863922, she said she could help, they will take care of this and not to worry. she transferred us to gm roadside assistance and they towed the car to valley chevrolet dealership in hastings mn. on 7-20-2017 this dealership called us and said they received an email from chevrolet stating chevrolet will pay zero for this repair. the problem is ( why did they say they can help & will take care of this ) then tow the car willingly to the dealership and then reverse their decision ? on top of all this the dealership wants even more money over $3700.00 to repair. this chevrolet corporation made our situation even worse because they don't stand behind their product or words. it's a higher repair at dealership and they willingly towed the car to dealership and now want us to pay tow back to rosemount mn . we never knew we were buying a $20,000.00 disposable vehicle. we have (2 ignition keys) 1 broke in half under normal use , the other key has a fracture on the verge of snapping in half from normal use.

Takes na long time to take off. the car jerks a lot and the steering wheel gets stuck..

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 chevrolet cruze. while operating the vehicle, the check engine warning indicator illuminated and the vehicle hesitated when changing gears. the vehicle was taken to an unknown dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission control module was faulty. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 115,000.

Clutch smell very strong door dust all over engine car has 9000 miles on it also getting a engine code says cruise control sensor this car don't have cruise control dealer says clutch not under warranty i'm very dissapointed with the power in the engine car has no power for going up any slope or hills way under powered.

Service traction control

Violent jerking when switching from park to other gears. sluggish acceleration flashing d

Car goes into a power down mode and stabilitrak light comes on. has been in dealership for a week and stored no codes to diagnose. can be driving down the highway at 60 and have loss of power. will eventually cause accident. car is still under powertrain warranty and cant be diagnosed. *tr

Transmission failed after parking. had 80k miles

My 2012 chevy cruze eco suddenly lost power and acceleration was very poor on 10/29/2016. almost got hit trying to pull out from a stop sign because the power was no longer there to take off. after having an auto mechanic shop look at the car on 10/31/2016 we discovered that the oil line from the block or where the oil supply comes from for the turbo had been a plastic line that had melted and stopped oil from flowing to the turbo charger. this appears to be a poor design on gm's part to use plastic lines for something that will obviously be transferring hot oil. it seems to have caused the turbo to burn up and also created an exhaust leak . i am still waiting on a final price from the mechanic shop to find out how much damage was done. they have called me today 11/1/2016 and asked that i come in so they can show me more damage they have found as a result of this line melting. i have spoken to one of the owners at [xxx] family of dealerships and they were of no help stating that it is out of warranty. really? it is a defective design flaw so why should i be having to pay for the repair? i would like some help with this issue please! i know i have 140000+/- miles on the car but it has been mostly highway miles and maintenance has always been done on the vehicle. i use this for my work and family vehicle so it is not driven hard or abused in anyway. i hate the fact of turning in a complaint that involves a dealer that i have recommended to so many people in the past but he was of no help at all and really showed no concern that there was an issue like this with a vehicle that he had sold. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

Stabili trak check engine light and error message transmission fluid leakage out of bottom of vehicle on driver side causing strong burning oder inside car while in motion car seems like it gore into neutral not allowing driver to push gas. immediately get to a safe place and cut vehicle off to avoid excessive damage, if on busy road or freeway be very careful not sure what happens at regular speed of road or freeways . i was in a school zone and received police assistance for traffic control.

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 chevrolet cruze. the contact stated that the clutch assembly failed to engage and disengage without warning. the dealer replaced the part; however, within less than 60 days of owning the vehicle, the failure recurred. the contact smelled an abnormal burning odor coming from the area of the clutch assembly. the vehicle was taken back to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the clutch assembly needed to be replaced a second time. the manufacturer was not notified. the approximate failure mileage was 70,000.

When i turned off the car, the dic showed the message "shift car into park." the car was already in park. i tried to move the shifter up a little to be sure that it was completely in park, but it did not move. i had to start the car again to get it to turn off.

Car just stopped in traffic and would not move it gave no warning that anything was wrong . it is a good thing i was not on a highway or i may not be here to tell you about this right now . it was in motion and just stopped and would not move . i could not even push it out of the middle of the road . the car behind me almost hit me . it was a very dangerous situation.
