Driving down the interstate doing 70-80mph and the car starts dinging-stabilitrack, traction control, and reduced power all come on and the car loses power without any warning and couldn't drive faster than 5 mph and had to get to the shoulder of the road without getting hit by other vehicles doing the same speed. this vehicle with this issue that came out of nowhere should not be driven on the road. i have had several issues with this vehicle and cel lights on but nothing that almost completely stops vehicle without warning and almost kills everyone in the car! i get they are trying to save the engine or whatever from further damage but i am pretty sure that i would like to live and not kill anyone else in the process of this so called safety precaution the vehicle takes on.
While driving my 2012 chevy cruze, my radio will shut off randomly for about 10 seconds, and when it does, i lose complete control of the steering. it is like the car shuts off but when the radio turns back on, then the car will restore power. very dangerous and scary!!! and yet, there is still no recall for my specific vin. also, for two mornings in a row, i have noticed a smell and some smoke coming from the engine. it will only do it for about 5 minutes and the car will not overheat. i swear it is one thing after another with this car.
While driving the music will shut off and the dashboard which projects the speed flashes on and off. my headlights and turn signals are also effected by the issue as well; at one point while driving it occurred and my steering wheel locked up while tryin g to make a turn on a city street.
5/1/2019 my radio started going on and off while driving home then on 5/2/2019 it started blinking "stalibitrak" on my gauge panel along with the radio going on and off. is this something i need to be concerned with as my car is no longer under warranty and i'm not raking in the dough to have this on my plate along with the other issues with the car. i've only had this car for a year and a half.
A week or so ago while driving home from work on the interstate the instrument cluster went dark and the display in the center of it completely shut off. i finished the remaining 30 mins. of my drive without it returning to normal(lights off display remained off). i didn't have any more issues until today. this afternoon i drove to a family get together and while still in the city my instrument cluster plus my radio display started to randomly shut off then come back on after a second or two sometimes continuously for 10-20 seconds and once for around 30 seconds. each time they went off the speakers would shut off too and i'm not sure if the turn signals worked due to the lack of a display and audio. one instance i also encountered either reduced power steering or complete loss of it for several seconds while losing power to the displays and regaining it approximately 15 times over about a 30 second timeframe. after that i got a stabilitrak message but steering was normal for the rest of the drive. however the cluster, radio display, speakers, etc. continued to randomly turn off for a second or two then come back on. when we left the gathering within a minute of starting the car(hadn't even made it out of the driveway) everything started shutting down then coming back on just like earlier but steering wasn't effected again and no stabilitrak message on the way home either. today the drive started in a city then was open highway for about 20 mins. and the gathering was at a house on the outskirts of a town. the loss of power to the things i mentioned above seemed to be completely random and were not effected by speed, stop and go traffic, or open highway. the one time steering was effected i was taking off at a stop light but it's hard to say if that was a factor since none of the other stops were.
My vehicle will say the drivers door is open when it is not, it will shut off and on. the alarm system goes off when ever it feels like it even driving down the road. there is nothing to do when it does this you just have to let it go off until it stops. the speed gauge changes from what the non digital one says. and the engine light shuts off and on when you hit a bump.
Turbo charger valve failed causing multiple other issues. car shuts off randomly. stability track keeps coming on even after the wire to the battery was replaced.
I was leaving work, onto a busy street and the headlights flickered, the check engine icon appeared on the dash, along with engine power is reduced, service traction control & service stabili trak. my car slowed down to about 5 miles and i was almost hit. i reversed back into my company's lot. someone scanned my car and the code was for p2135. doing research, i found it was a previous recall for this issue but can't find any now.
Car was like new for a few months, driven to and from orlando maybe 4 times, but mostly use it for work to take my daughter to school then it started the check engine light being on, then shortly, car started jerking while parked, or on brake, and the "check stabili track control" light comes on, and then would just turn off. i would start smelling a very strong burnt smell but no oil was falling to the floor, but once i stopped driving there would've smoke everywhere. was told there is a vacuum leak coming from pcv which is built in valve cover...have had valve cover changed 3 times in 3 weeks and each time, it looked like someone died under my hood and bled oil! am told that there is too much pressure coming in and so causes oil to find a way out and leaks it spills it slashes, and it's a mystery! also, there is another leak that all of a sudden strated from the side of the engine! when doing my research, there are soooooo many people with the same problems! this needs to be some sort of recall. please help!
The valve cover and pcv valve leaks air bad and is defective. it constantly causes surging and multiple obd codes and the stabili/trac to flash and the radio to flash off and on. it idles rough and shuts off rough too. the gas mileage isn't as good as it should and the power isn't as good as it should. there should be a recall on this known defective pcv valve cover to be fixed
Dangerous to drive this car 2012 chevy cruz. my cc 12 decided to jerk, shake, all panels starting flashing, shake, make noise and increase speed and then suddenly brakes kick in and it stopped in the middle lane of i95. becus powertran is over by 1 year, chevrolet wont do anything about it. they said to take to official chevy dealership. which now incurred a cost of 370 with discount. their rep told me a each time i call tha the powertrain is over however considering the trouble with the vehicle, you are on the perimeters of this. we get the diagnostics and work with you possible picking up some if not all of the cost. no such thing, instead their senior advisor advised me i am [xxx] out of luck on a 6 yrs old car with approx. 79 thousand miles. that's their response. out of car now 11 days, handed a bill for 370.00 to tell me the same thing my mechanic told me. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr
Without any previous problems before this day.. my transmission went out with only 80,000 miles on june 7, 2018. being on a busy 2 lane, curvy highway, my car just completely went out of gear and thankfully i was able cruise off to the side. a few minutes later an alert than came up on my dash and said "transmission hot, idle engine". i had bought this car in 2014 with only one previous owner that took really good care of it. it is ridiculous for my transmission to go out with such low mileage and to have to pay $5,000 for a new one and plus the car payments i still have on it. unfortunately, i am not the only person to have this issue. there are many others. just because they look nice doesn't mean it will last long.
It has been a known issue all over the internet that the 2012 cruise has had a problem with its electrical system. along with myself many others have noted that while driving the cars electrical system goes out disabling the power steering, radio, gas, anything tied in with the electrical system. this has caused many accidents and has nearly caused my significant other and myself on 3 separate occasions to nearly run into a pole or ditch. this is a safety hazard not only to the driver of the vehicle but to other vehicles or pedestrians.
Car does not run right. when accelerating the car does not budge and stalls out. found out if the ac is off it is less likely to stall out after stopping. was told it is a possible clogged catalytic converter. the stabilitrak and traction control wanings pop up. took it to auto zone and they told me it was bad gas. something is off and it's not a easy diagnosis.
While driving the radio and other interior lights started flashing on and off. now along with that the check engine light is on, the service stabiltrac is on and it will loose steering assist at times. today it started dying when taking off and at intersections.i have spoken to a few diffrent techs and a couple diffrent shops on this matter and nobody has any answers as to what it is they all have said that they have several doing the same thing and can not figure them out.
Overheating. loud noise in engine with loss of power that we determined to be the turbo. cars breaks have been changed several times since purchase. consistent warning lights on dash. the car has a very loud rattling sound when driving. it isn't as lound when sitting still at a redlight.
Since november 2016 at 56,000 miles the car has been constantly overheating. the engine coolant flange, water pump, and thermostat have been replaced 2xs. when this happens the car flashes sporadic messages such as a/c off high engine heat, service stabilitrak, change oil, etc. the car also has started leaking oil. finally on february 10th, 2018 the car had these same issues again and this time the engine went entirely. the car had total engine failure at 83,500 miles and now requires a new engine. this is the worst car i have ever owned and i would never recommend it to anyone. upon going online everyone has these same exact issues so i have no idea why massive recalls have not been made.
Car randomly displaying service stabilitrax and dashboard lights flash radio turns on and off. seems to happen more at stops but sometimes when moving also. started with radio turning on and off only but now includes the other also. this has been an issue for about a month.
The "check engine" light came on one evening and with a message to service the stabiltrack. i did get the car home. next morning, started the car, was stopped at an intersection near my home when the engine lost power in the middle of the intersection. was able to get the car home by turning it off and restarting it, but in trying to drive the car to the repair shop, was not able to get any acceleration and had to have the car towed from my driveway. diagnostics revealed the throttle body had to be replaced and the sensor cleared. was told by my mechanic that there is a service bulletin out for this issue from gm. this is a car with 41,000 miles on it.
Engine loss of power and stability and traction control. the vehicle was moving and lost power and would not go above 5mph causing a safety issue on highway.
When starting my car, my windshield wipers start going along with windshield wiper fluid coming out, my four ways start blinking, and my trunk opens up and will not shut. i have not touched anything that would cause any of this to happen. this has happened multiple times and it puts me in a huge inconvenience. i was driving today and it's 14 degrees outside, yet my car started to overheat and a warning came up on my dash saying something about the a/c being shut off due to overheating.... why would i be using my a/c at all?
While driving, on at least four occasions, i have lost power completely, causing all electrical functionings to stop, making me lose ability to accelerate, causing my lights to shut off, and all other functionalities of the car, besides steering and using inertia, resulting in pulling over without endangering myself or other drivers. there also seems to be a skipping or jumping involving the fuel injection when accelerating, which makes speed regulation irregular, sporadic, and does not allow the driver to make accurate judgements on the cars capabilities concerning timing and distance to other drivers. recently, i was in motion driving through chatanooga, tn, where it is mountainous and has steep hills, during nighttime, so visibility was lessened, and danger, due to the type of road it was, was increased. while going downhill, luckily, with other cars around me traveling at 70 mph, my car just shut off, completely. i lost the ability to accelerate, my lights shut off, almost causing an accident with the cars around me. luckily, i pulled onto the shoulder without any damages. this happened again, about two months ago, at a stop light. i began to accelerate, and in the middle of the intersection, my car shut off, i had to coast off of the road, lost all acceleration, and again almost was involved in an accident.
While driving my car would not accelerate. the car will not move when changing gears. i took the car to the dealership because the check engine light and stabilik service light came on. the mechanic diagnosed the car and replaced a connector. now, the car gears don't work. misdiagnosis.
I was driving down the interstate and my car started to lose power. the engine reduced power and service stabilitrak messages came up and the check engine light and traction control light came on. i got of the interstate and putted along, barely able to accelerate at stop lights, until i made it to my local chevy dealership. they don't seem to know what is going on and i'll probably end up doing a trial and error with sensors and throttles. a few weeks ago a similar incident happened while i was driving down a residential road (25mph), but everything turned off (dash, a/c, radio, digital speedometer, etc) and my car powered off for a few seconds and then came back on again. this is seriously a scary problem to have.
While breaking, using the blinker, turning, or just driving the car will loose power, slow the car down, the radio looses power, and my service stablitky track, service power steering, along with traction control, anti-breaking lights, and a few other light will all come back on. it will do this randomly while driving, it seems to do it more frequently when coming to a stop or accelerating. i had this serviced back in february of 2017 and the dealership told me i had acid from my battery leaking into the positive cable, so i had all the battery and battery wires replaced. this took care of the problem until a few weeks ago. this is happening more and more often and the problem is becoming worse. this is a persistent problem with the chevy cruzes from the research i have done and chevy seems to be doing nothing about it.
Car slow to crank, check power steering comes on or check anti theft system occasionally. sometimes the wipers, emergency lights or trunk pops open. no on can give me an answer as to what the heck is going on with my 2012 cruz. this happens while the car is stationary.
When i try and start my car sometime it stalls like it doesn't want to crank up and when i finally do get it crank the emergency lights flash, power steering comes on the screen and then windshield wipers come on. i had this problem previous a couple months again to where when i crank it the trunk came open and the stabilitak and jerk and other things would pop up. they put it on the machine and it said it was misfires so i went and got it fixed now it's happening again.
Car when in park with parking break and idiling in neutral. the steering wheel will jerk, the speedometer will spike at max speed and doors will lock and all dash lights flash on. while driving down the road between 25 to 45 mph the radio will turn itself off and then back on for no reason. also while turning at slow speed, car will reset itself. as in it will lose all power to the power steering, ac, radio, everything and you will have to restart the car. not safe at all when driving in traffic.
As i was driving my radio started going on and off then car completely shut off steering while went stiff to the left and locked as i was on the road scared the living spirit out of me was the scariest experiences luckly i was alone without my kids because that could of been a fatal accident. in was very lucky it was not a busy morning the first time it happen and i was able to keep to left until car came to a stop at the curve. this has happen to me more than once that i stopped driving car stopped paying it because it was a lemon so many things went wrong 3mnths after buying car at used dealers i felt cheated and stuck i even lost my job because i wasnt able to get to work on time or at all at times because of car problems
Takata recall, i have a 2012 chevy cruze and the stable i track light comes on reduced engine power light comes on and it's just basically shuts off in the middle of traffic, check engine light comes on , stays on flashes on and off.
My vehicle has 51000 miles on it. in the last 1 month i have had 4 different incidents involving the service stablik causing reduced power and check engine lights to come on. just once i was able to retrieve a code p-2132 indicating to have the trottle body sensor replaced which i did from a chevy dealership. in the last 2 weeks since therepair, this has happened to me 2 more times, only to have the dealership tell me they are unable to retrieve codes to diagnois the problem. i have been fortunate that the reduce power has been happening early in my trips. whether pulling out from a parked spot, or just recently crossing and intersection were i was the 1st car and able to coast into a safe area. my car is currently at the dealership for the 2nd time in 2 days. i do not feel safe driving this vehicle i am afraid i am going to get rear ended. i am schedule to move out of state in less than a month, and currently have no way of getting there.
I have a 2012 chevy cruze ltz rs with 35,162 miles.i was driving home from work at 2am during a snow storm. 30 mph in white our condition. luckily i was on a city road. out of nowhere my service stabitrack light flashes and my speed reduced dramatically and my car became erratic. i was almost rear ended by a snow plow.i could have been seriously injured or killed. i basically had no control over my car. i had no idea what it was and it scared the living daylights out of me.i was searching forums and this seems to be a common issue with the car. however chevy doesn't care enough about its customers to issue a recall on the issue. i hope this issue can be addressed before someone is killed or seriously injured
Takata recall i have and issue now for months since i financed the chevy cruze 2012. it has something to do with the brakes or running lights switch. if the lights are on running mode and you touch the brakes it seems the radio goes on and off, also acts like the car is shutting off when you are stopped. also the stablity trac light on dash comes on multiple times. i do not have the funds to have someone check on the situation especially when i have read up and seen so many complaints bout the same thing. i believe this is a manufacturer problem maybe to much power surge to circuit or whatever you want to call it. however it is a serious condition because when i went to make a turn the brakes n steering went out basically i assumed the car lost power and thank god i knew to hit the gas pedal to get it to stop , and re-function like its suppose to do. i hate to say this to chevy but they need a recall on these chevy cruze 2012"s . before someone like myself or another gets hurt or even worse killed in the car systems malfunction. feel free to contact me. i will love to take you for a ride in the car so you can enjoy the faulty systems i see and who knows maybe the power brakes n steering will shut off so you can feel the way i felt when it happen less than a mile from home after working 12hrs. you ask for a specific date well there has been so many days and multiple times in one day it is hard to list all the actions. but trust me if you would like to take a ride and see for yourself i be more than willing to comply.
Radio is turning on and off. stabilitytrak control light comes on power steering give out and brakes
Car goes into a power down mode and stabilitrak light comes on. has been in dealership for a week and stored no codes to diagnose. can be driving down the highway at 60 and have loss of power. will eventually cause accident. car is still under powertrain warranty and cant be diagnosed. *tr
I was driving by myself down a busy road, luckily not too busy with traffic and the service engine soon light came on with comment stability traction. i immediately pulled over, turned the car off and called our chevy dealer. i was instructed to leave the car off a few minutes then turn it back on which i did. all the lights went away. i scheduled an appointment for several days later to have the car checked. the car was fine the rest of the day. the next day around 3 pm i was leaving work the stability traction light came on and then the reduced engine speed light came on. my car dropped to 10 miles an hour i was about rear ended. i turned on hazards. i right at an intersection, i started blowing my horn cause the light turned yellow. i turned into a parking lot. i immediately turned the car off and called the dealer again. the guy on the phone stated turn the car off and on for a few minutes and it did reset. he said i see you have an upcoming appointment. i said yes but i am dropping the car off tonight and he stated okay. next day they phone me and the"throttle body" was bad. many, many complaints online about this. he stated he also had to replace the outlet housing, something to do with oil. this was just re-placed 15 months ago but was now out of warranty. a day later i was out $1,053.99. luckily i had the money! my point is not only myself but others, many others all over the internet have issues with this throttle body. why not recall it? do you realize what danger i was in??? thank you.
?/?/16 sunny-driving on city street. traction light/service traction control appear. drove car to shoulder-car could barely move then was completely unable to move. turned car off/back on. lights/errors were gone. drove away. 7/9/16 sunny-driving out of parking lot. traction light/service traction control/service stabilitrak appear. car barely crept forward before it could not move. called onstar for vehicle diagnosis. nothing found. turned car off/back on and everything reset/was ok 10/21/16 rainy-driving on interstate. car randomly yanks left (didn't brake/accelerate) car spins & crashes into guardrail multiple times. car barely crept forward as i drove to left shoulder but stopped moving before getting to safety. check engine light/traction light/service traction control/ stabilitrak appear (see photo-the papers in corner of display show stabilitrak error is on next screen but i scrolled past needing to see odometer and didn't snap photo). two officers saw the errors and that car couldn't move. our take: rain initiated traction control, but car thought it was spinning when it wasn't, and corrected for it by applying certain brakes to certain tires causing it to spin. dealership sees no history of these errors for all 3 instances and say they can't do anything. i left my car running with these errors on for over an hour while waiting for police/tow truck. insurance won't go after gms's legal teams but tell me to jump into a lawsuit later. it's upsetting we're waiting for somebody to get hurt/die to look into this. my sister has same car off same lot and experienced a traction control error. similar circumstances online-pictures/videos of these errors but dealership finds no history. issues 1) dangerous errors not being logged 2) traction control/stabilitrak not reading situation correctly 3) car cannot operate/drive to safety after incorrectly reading situation.
Ive had my car for 2 years now. after the first year i began noticing the engine would be going at a steady speed and if you began to accelerate the engine would rev or stall and the rpms shoot up. the only way to keep it from producing the actions is to slowly accelerate. the engine is sluggish and does this while in cruise control.. after getting the complete read, it was said the 02 sensors were out. the engine is now to the point it will randomly be going and the engine light will start flashing and all speed is reduced. they were replaced, but the problem persisted. the car stalls out so often i refuse to take it in to cities or onto the interstate. i will be going back to a truck after this is paid off! will be going to the dealership this week!
While driving, radio display and speakers turn on and off. started june 2016 and has progressively gotten worse. seems to happen when turning the vehicle and or pressing the brakes. stabilitrack/traction control error message appears on dash. all abs related icons flash. sometimes it happens once. sometimes it's repetitive until i turn the car off and then turn it back on. doesn't matter how fast i'm going and the longer the trip, the more frequent it is. based on what i've learned about this, it should be covered by special coverage 14311b but my dealership gives me the run around and asks silly questions about if my battery is in good condition and if i think i need a new alternator. if it was the battery, the radio/speakers wouldn't be the only item(s) that turned off. from what i'm learning, this problem gets worse and power steering or full vehicle function is diminished or goes off completely. not sure what more needs to happen to chevy customers for chevy to make this a recall.
Stabili trak check engine light and error message transmission fluid leakage out of bottom of vehicle on driver side causing strong burning oder inside car while in motion car seems like it gore into neutral not allowing driver to push gas. immediately get to a safe place and cut vehicle off to avoid excessive damage, if on busy road or freeway be very careful not sure what happens at regular speed of road or freeways . i was in a school zone and received police assistance for traffic control.
The stability track control and service traction control messages have both happened to me now a few times while driving down city/country roads and down the highway. the first time i had the service traction control was yesterday. (8/02/2016) it's scary because the radio resets and the power steering goes out. i have a [xxx] daughter and she's terrified as well. i wish they would figure this out already. i called the dealer once and like most people write online about this issue they didn't know what it could be and they didn't have a car i could use to go back and forth to work while they checked it out so i haven't taken to the dealer yet. the issue comes and goes. it could go away for months but always comes back. i keep checking online to see if they finally found a fix for this issue and i still haven't found anything. so i'm assuming once someone dies in a bad accident or numerous people do then maybe they will take it more seriously? i'm a single mom and i can't afford to not have a car or have a problem that i have to pay lots of $ to fix when this obviously needs to be a recall when this many people are having the issue and it affects your steering!?!?!?! help pls?!?!?!
Tl* the contact owns a 2012 chevrolet cruze. while driving 55 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning and the air bag and electronic stability control lights remained illuminated. in addition, the vehicle would not start immediately when prompted. the contact had to wait approximately ten seconds before the vehicle would start. furthermore, when the brake pedal was depressed, the contact had to apply a significant amount of pressure before stopping the vehicle. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. the failure mileage was 11,010.
Tl* the contact owns a 2012 chevrolet cruze. while driving various speeds, the steering wheel seized and all the warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. in addition, the vehicle stalled and would not restart until five minutes later. on another occasion, the vehicle stalled and restarted independently. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was notified and stated that the vehicle was no longer under warranty and that there were no open recalls. the contact would have to pay for the diagnostic and repair costs. the failure mileage was approximately 85,000.
I noticed my car wasn't beeping when i tried to lock it. i tried to start my car and it completely shut down. i managed to get my hood open and disconnected the battery cables. it was fine for a few weeks then the "check stabilitrack" went off and my car shut down. i made it to my destination and it shut down completely. i tried to disconnect it and even that didn't work. upon further investigation many had had this issue and it's not the stabilitrak its apparently the ground cable to the battery (black cable). my car will work but will occasionally completely reset the system so trying to save the time or date is pointless. i want this investigated!
Driving my car at about 25mph started to hear a rattle in it. when went to accelerate the car started to smoke and had no power. when idling you could hear the motor "work" and it had a jump in it. only has 50,000 miles and has never been driven hard. of course it's out of warranty now and i have no clue why it wouldn't accelerate and started smoking. the engine light came on and was still on when i left my car sitting on the side of the road.
I was starting to cross a busy intersection when the engine loss power light and stability control light came on. car would not go over 5 miles an hour. just about 90 days ago it was at the chevy dealership for same problem where the throttle body and all sensors were replaced.
Tl* the contact owns a 2012 chevrolet cruze. while driving 10 mph, the stabilitrac warning light illuminated, the power steering failed, and the instrument panel and radio lost power. the vehicle was not taken to be diagnosed or repaired. the contact stated that the failure recurred three times. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 70,000.
Tl* the contact owns a 2012 chevrolet cruze. while driving 30 mph depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle would not accelerate. the vehicle sputtered and stalled, and the service engine light illuminated. the vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the cam cover needed to be replaced and the fuel trim needed to be reset. the repairs were performed; however, the failure recurred. the vehicle was towed again to the dealer. the contact stated that the stabilitrac warning light remained illuminated. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 60,000.
Car suddenly shifted into 4th gear while going 70 mph. squalled left front tire, and violently snatched steering wheel to the left. after shutting car off, the problem was gone. shortly after, stabilitrack, and steering alarm appeared on message display. that cleared once shut-off. three weeks later it occurred again. this time, on a trip, it did the exact same problems four times in a row. this is a very dangerous problem. if i had not had a firm grip on the wheel, i would have been hurt. i pity the fool who tailgates me! i took the car to the local dealer, and had the california flash "recall" done. sense that the transmission has not shifted down while at high speeds, but now, the stabilitrack, and abs lights are staying on.
I purchased a new 2012 cruze eco new and currently have 48k miles on it. this weekend the cruze twice had the following problems: 1. dic error - engine power reduced 2. dic error - service stabilitrak 3. check engine light engine power was reduced to peak out at 10 mph. luckily the power steering was unaffected and i was able to get the cruze home without accident. letting the cruze sit for a few minutes in the off position seemed to clear the issue, but it was still scary to have the engine shut down like it did. local dealer confirmed that the throttle body was junk and replaced it but not under any warranty. total cost was $400. dealer confirmed that similar issue is occurring with sierra pickups and the tb is covered under the powertrain warranty. very disappointed that the tb was not covered as an engine component. many cruze owners are having this problem...look on cruzetalk.com. the tb should not be wearing out at 48k...or 100k.
