Have an air bag error coming up on dash. at the same time this happened all of the controls on the steering wheel have stopped working. vehicles horn does not work now as well on the steering wheel.
I bought the car around mid-september 2019. i've been driving it since and just recently, i'd say december 9th, 2019 to be exact, got a letter in the mail saying my vehicle had a recall for the airbag. i went online to the car brands website and looked up my exact car to verify. upon doing this, i discovered it had a second recall for the fuel pump. i took the car in for the free repairs, only to be told that they can't fix the fuel fump issue as my check engine light is on. from what i've been told by a mechanic i went to, the light is on due to a leak in my vacuum pump. he said it'd cost about $600 for part and labor, but that this fix isn't extremely important and that my car should run well enough without this fix. me being broke, i didn't get it fixed. well, now that i'm here to get my recall parts fixed, i'm being told i can't get one of them fixed, and i'd have to pay around $124 for a diagnosis of why the check engine light is on, or pay the estimated cost to ...
I took my vehicle in to vw of chattanooga in august to get the airbag recall taken care of and now my surprise my "clock spring" is now not working. i called vw of chattanooga and described that the controls on the steering wheel was not working, there is a clicking sound when turning the wheel and discussed my safety concerns. i mentioned to vw of chattanooga that i was concerned that the airbag will just blow up and he said it just will not deploy in the event of an emergency. so i'm like now what do i do, i have a vehicle i cannot drive and the last ones to mess with it was them! they asked if the airbag light came on why didn't i bring back in? i said because i have been on military orders for awhile. they also said initially it was covered under warranty and now they are saying it will cost $732 to get it fixed! i called vw care and they just said my car was out of warranty and it maybe a worksman issue but the dealership will have to work with you ...
The problem i'm having with my 2014 passat is that one day out the blue my airbag light came on. i parked and turn of the car thinking that would solve the problem. when i started my car back up, the airbag is still on and now the horn and also the buttons on the steering wheel isn't working anymore. i have not hit anything or had any accidents period. i see many complaints from vw owners about the same issue....but i don't see any recalls about this problem. this is a big issue for me because i live in illinois and my car horn doesn't work.
Horn, steering wheel buttons, power steering and driver side airbag are not working as a result of a faulty clock spring.
I was driving yesterday ,when southerly light show error airbags /abs .so i when the first vw deals service ,to find it out ,and they were charge me just to looks up.i felt really disappointed,.i need help i'm driving so afraid every single day
While driving into the mall parking lot at speed of 20 mph all airbags exploded except the steering wheel airbag and my daughter suffered from arm and air injuries
Airbag sign came on and the horn stopped working, car was found to have a faulty clock spring, after replacement of clock spring, there was a short and the clock spring had to be replaced yet again. air bag sign came on again and there was another short in a wire, clock spring had to be replaced three times. faulty wires and clock spring.
Takata recall. tl* the contact owned a 2015 volkswagen passat. while driving 4 mph, another vehicle crashed into the front driver's side of the contact's vehicle. the air bags deployed. a police report was filed. the contact sustained burns to both arms and upper right side that required medical attention. the contact received a recall notice for nhtsa campaign number: 19v014000 (air bags). the vehicle was towed to a local tow yard where it was considered a total loss. the vehicle was not taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing or repairs. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and the contact informed them to cancel the upcoming appointment for the recall repairs. the failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
Takata recall i received a takata recall notice recently for my 2015 vw passat. i am currently a dod civilian working and living in germany. when i moved here 2 years ago for my job i shipped my car which did not have a recall placed on it at the time. when i received the notice i contacted vw customer care for assistance. due to my location they referred me to the overseas military cars service (omcs) for further assistance in coordinating recall repairs with vw dealers in germany. i did so, however was informed by the omcs rep that the recall was only applicable in the us and that the required parts and tools to complete the recall is not available overseas for the recall to be completed by local vw dealers (see attached photo of email). she said omcs has alerted vw of this issue but received no response. she said there was nothing omcs could do and i needed to direct all of my questions to the manufacturer. i contacted vw again and explained the situation, but received a response that there was nothing they could do and i needed to direct all further questions ...
