2014 dodge ram. consumer writes in regards to defective fuel level indicator. *ld *js
Error code p0463: fuel level sensor circuit high input, this means my fuel gauge is experiencing failures and i can not accurately determine how much fuel is in the vehicle. doing a quick google search, this appears to be a very common issue with the 2014 ram 1500 5.7l. i'm at roughly 68500 mile on my truck so the issue is also out of warranty.
Tl* the contact owns a 2014 ram 1500. while driving approximately 40 mph, the instrument cluster began to pulsate. the contact stated that the failure occurred for the last two weeks and occurred while the vehicle was stationary and idling. the vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 109,900.
While driving the 2014 ram 1500 the vehicle has lost power numerous times. this is an intermittent issue and i have not been able to duplicate on the spot. this means that the lose of power can happen at any given time. this lose of power will result in losing steering and sometimes braking, since all are controlled by electronics. these occurrences have happened while normal driving conditions; rolling up windows, turning on bright lights, and just driving.
The odb harness plug in that the reader plugs in is corroded and the reader will not work.they can not plug in to do the recalls. truck has 32000 miles and always has been kept in a garage and dry. they want 836.36 to replace and will not cover under warranty. it is under the dash under steering will and should not have corroded.

Fuel gauge miss reads, common problem in rams. fuel level not known. 15k mile 2014 ram 1500.
Horn no longer works, by pushing it or with key fob locking when locking my truck. i've read that this has happen on multiple ram 1500s. my just stop when exiting my truck and i notice i didnt get any beep when trying to secure my truck. checked every fuse, relay, even took it to the dealership i purchased it from. only had the truck for 4 weeks and they told me i would have to pay $600. this is a safety issue and i shouldn't be responsible for a horn not beeping..
The engine check light illuminated in the instrument panel. i took the vehicle to my dealership and they diagnosed the problem as a fuel level sensor stuck. when the light first illuminated the vehicle was parked. *bf consumer stated when the sensor fails ity causes the fuel gauge to plummet to empty.*jb
Ram 1500 fuel gauge drops to empty and empty signal comes on while driving or at a stand still also states "fuel sensor fail"
Fuel pump sensor failed. replaced the part, bought from the dealership. installed and worked for two days before the sensor again failed. when the fuel tank is filled the gauge does not sense any fuel in the car. also the car's computer system fails to tell you which part is in failure- the brake light indicator went on for the passenger side brake light, it was actually the brake light on the cab that was out.
The vehicle's instrument cluster flickers from bright to extremely dark. the dodge dealership traced the issue back to the icp module. as this module continues to flicker it draws the attention of the operator away from the road. the module also indicates engine issues, this could lead to a loss of control resulting in a crash.

'takata recall' while my vehicle is parked in my driveway it is unlocking on its own. has been happening every night for about 2 weeks. i have a security camera and can see that nobody is messing with my truck.
While living in virginia in 2015, i proceeded to take my dodge ram in to correct a defective wire harness. recall notice r36, nhtsa 15-459 noted 'the steering wheel wire harness on your vehicle may become chaffed by the driver airbag module retainer spring ends. a chaffed steering wheel wire harness could cause an electrical short and/or an inadvertent driver airbag deployment. inadvertent driver airbag deployment, during certain driving conditions, may increase the risk of a crash and/or vehicle occupant injury.' after that recall was performed, i lost all use of my horn, and electrical features installed on the steering wheel. i drove several years without these features and never really had time to get this evaluated because of multiple military deployments. we relocated to ohio and i decided to have the truck evaluated and basically the recall work was never corrected by fair oaks chantilly chrysler dealership. on july 8 through july 11, 2019, my vehicle was serviced by jeff wyler chrysler, dodge, jeep in batavia, ohio to corrected the recall notice r36, nhsta 15-459. my service manager noted to submit a claim to be reimbursed for $403.78. they reached out ...
