Driver side sun visor in 2005 nissan murano drops down obscuring vision and created potential hazard. *tr
Driver side sun visor drops down with out warning. just hangs there, i have to keep my hand on it to keep it from dropping down and blocking by vision. *tr
When driving over a bump or driving on a bumpy road the driver's side sun visor falls or drops down unexpectedly. it appears that the visor is not tightly held by the bracket that it sits on. when this occurs, there is complete loss of vision through the front windshield. when driving at higher speeds (or any speed for that matter), this loss of vision might cause an accident if the visor is not raised up quickly enough. i have researched this problem online and i have found that there are many, many other nissan murano owners with the same complaint, especially for owners with model years 2005, 2006 and 2007. this is definitely something that should be investigated before there are any serious accidents or loss of life as a result of this defect. this is something that should be recalled and replaced with a new sun visor. the passenger's side sun visor does not exhibit this behavior. this situation has happened to me numerous times. *js

Driving is the event leading to the failure. driver's side sun visor will not stay in the up position and falls down in front of drivers eyes without warning or hesitation. this will lead to accident due to the driver losing eye contact with traffic and the road. *tr

2005 nissan murano----- sun visors will not stay in any set position. this is a driving safety hazard. *tr
I own a 2005 nissan murano and both sun visors keep falling. i've tried velcro and even glue but to no avail. these faulty visors are dangerous because they tend to fall when i am driving and momentarily obstruct my view. i've come close on a few occasions to hitting a vehicle in front of me because of this. the cost to replace these visors is exorbitant ($350 or more ea) and while researching where to buy them cheap or even a method of repair for this defect i've found that there are multiple nissan owners with this exact same problem. *tr
Driver side visor of vehicle falls down on it's own. blocks driver's vision. occurs at least once a day. some times more frequently depending upon the road. if the roadway is bumpy, the visor will fall more frequently. this happened all of a sudden, without any events leading up to the failure. when i checked online, it turns out this is a fairly common problem with this vehicle. in some instances the dealer will repair. in other instances they will not. cost of the repair is around $400.00. i plan to go to the dealer tomorrow and hope they will repair. *tr
Driver's side visor on 2005 murano has lost its ability to stay in the up position reliably, causing it to drop into the driver's line of sight frequently and with no notice, causing a total obscurities of the road. have investigated this problem online and it seems to be rampant in this model car. only solution from dealer is to charge an outrageous $400 to replace the visor. have never had this happen in any other of my 12 cars owned. *tr
Driver's side sunvisor doesn't stay up. *tr
Sun visor in 2005 nissan murano with 55k miles doesn't stay up all of a sudden. this started happening for no apparent reason. it's loose when in the up position, and if the car hits a bump, it falls in front of the driver. it is difficult to drive with it down all the time, and quite dangerous when it's up and all of a sudden falls when driving. it costs $375 for a replacement visor. both the local nissan dealer and the corporation refused to assist with the cost of the part, and this is a problem that, according to internet research (and the local dealer's own admission), numerous other people have encountered. this issue poses a serious safety hazard, yet is cost-prohibitive to have fixed. *tr

Driver's side sun visor falling down while driving. won't fall all the way down-just enough to be in line of vision. talked to nissan about replacement parts-not covered by warranty and b/w $350-$425 to replace(not including labor!) something needs to be done about this-high risk for accident-trying to use velcro at this time to keep in place-not really working!! just hit 60,000miles on it! *tr
2005 nissan murano drivers side sun visor will not stay up. visor falls unexpectedly causing the driver to be momentarily blinded. this is a safety issue and nissan needs to offer replacement spring clips to keep the visor out of the drivers vision. *tr
Driver side sun visor will not stay up regardless of the position it is in and continues to fall down blocking the driver's view. it falls down unexpected while driving suddenly blocking the driver's view of oncoming traffic, traffic signals, etc. i (and many other owner based on blogs and reviews) have contacted nissan several times, filed a complaint and requested a recall, to no avail. this is clearly a safety issue that should have been addressed in earlier vehicles. undoubtedly there have been accidents and near misses due to this obstruction to the driver's view of the road and traffic flows. a recall needs to be called to get this matter addressed especially since the manufacturer is well aware of the hazard it creates and that the component failure has been in existence since at least 2003. file # 6909366 was been created to document my concern by ginger knight, consumer affairs representative, nissan consumer affairs. if a recall has already been issued, please advise of the information so i can get this fixed. if not, please consider this and the numerous other complaints regarding this key component failure. Fortunately, we have not had an accident, but the drivers visor on nissan murano will not stay up or down, its "floppy" and impairs vision while driving. it seems to be widespread from reading online but nissan just wants to sell a new part to replace it, which eventually will develop the same problem. *tr
Normal vehicle use, about 45k miles.the drivers side sun visor fails to remain in the up position. this leads to critical driver blinding at unexpected times, usually during stops or turns when sight is critical. nissan would not repair under $400 and no after market parts have been found. a search shows this to be a known common issue affecting driver safety. *tr

The driver's side visor on my nissan murano keeps falling down constantly. it will not stay up on its own. i was backing out of a parking stall, and the visor fell down (at the exact wrong moment) blocking my vision. this caused me to be distracted and bump my car into a pole. the damage to my car was just enough where my whole bumper had to be replaced. the cost of the repairs from the auto body shop was $1,050.00. this is a factory safely hazard failure from nissan. the expense to replace my visor is a ridiculous $400.00. nissan needs to do a recall or at least sell this part at cost. i have since had to velcro the visor it into place. the velcro is not a solution and makes the visor useless. this visor problem is a safety hazard. *tr

I just bought my 2005 nissan murano in may 2009 and have just started experiencing my drivers side visor will not stay up. at first i though it was just going to happen a few time, but now it wont stay up but for like 2 minutes then falls back down. i think that this is a major saftey issue, because for that split second that the visor is down i could wreck. i have also heard of other complaints because of passenger side visors doing the same thing, but nothing seems to be getting done. obviously this is a defect and something should get replaced. *tr
Hi, my 2005 nissan murano has a sun visor that will not stay up. it needed to be replaced twice. a defect visor could block driver's view, or if the visor is removed completely and sun shines right into the eyes of the driver that could blind driver from seeing the road. regards, *tr
