New 2019 jeep cherokee latitude battery not charging to start the car. start/stop system not working due to battery charging code, a/c changes setting by itself. it started about 2 weeks ago, getting worse by the day.

I purchased a 2019 jeep cherokee trailhawk on 11/11/2019. that same evening the instrument cluster, uconnect, and lights all cut out while i was driving down the road. this caused the engine control to be cut and dtc's for brakes, esc, transmission, and the shifter. thankfully the first few times this happened on a street with heavy traffic during rush hour and i was able to restart the vehicle. it happened again on the second day while in motion on a side road and again the third day except while driving on the highway. after the third day, i scheduled it for service at a local jeep dealer. upon having my vehicle for five days, the dealer discovered a corroded/faulty ground and made the necessary repairs. the vehicle was picked up on 11/18/2019. it drove great until 11/20/2019 when the power once again was cut from the instrument cluster, uconnect, and lights. this also resulted in a loss of engine control with the same array of dtc codes being displayed and also occurred while driving. i was able to safely pull off the road and restart the vehicle. thankfully this happened roughly a mile from the dealer and i was able to limp the jeep there. they checked the codes and advised me to bring the vehicle back in the morning. on 11/21/2019 i returned the jeep to the dealer where it is currently being worked on again. this vehicle is an extreme danger to not only myself but to other motorists that could potentially collide with me due to the random and unpredictable nature of the issue. i am so concerned about the safety of the vehicle that i will not allow my children to ride in my vehicle with me.

Uconnect service not working properly affecting all options on radio control panel managed by uconnect

I bought my jeep on december 12, 2018 from jt's jeep in lexington sc. at roughly 400 miles, the start/stop system light illuminated and displayed a message for service.i parked the jeep and shut it off, and restarted. worked fine after that. at roughly 1,600 miles, it did the same thing again. same procedure. went away. at 7,500 miles i took it in for service and they checked and said nothing was wrong. at 8000 miles i was merging onto the interstate in columbia sc and started to accelerate and it lost all power; power steering, acceleration, braking, and displayed a message of "electrical system fault" i managed to get it off the road and restarted, drove to ga fine. i scheduled an appointment with the local chrysler dealer here in ga, they kept it an entire week and claimed nothing was wrong. but that they fixed a recall that would remedy the issue. it has not. it has done this again and again, sometimes completely locking down, other times just illuminating the auto start stop service light. i am terrified of my vehicle. i bought it brand new because i needed a safe, reliable vehicle. it has been anything but. it currently has just over 10,000 miles. i have photographic proof of the times it has went haywire.

On oct 29 at 19991 mileage, the cell did not start at all and found the battery dead on jeep cherokee latitude 2.4 l 2019 model parked inside the garage. i used the battery charger overnight. on oct 30, i had to call mopar service for jump start as my charger did not work. after jump, the engine clunked and run but flashing all interior light and several warnings such as ,electronic stability control, service 4wd,power brake on dashboard. when i tried to pull out a car from garage and shifted the gear to the rear,"the service transmission restart in park with vehicle at zero speed ' displayed and engine stopped again.then car was towed to jeep dealer.on oct 31 the dealer called me and said the car is ready to pick up. at the dealer, they explained the one cell in the battery was bad and replaced to the new battery. although i asked to explain why the battery damaged so quickly and it there was any vehicle electric system. but they said the the technician checked all system and confirmed all ok. but no explanation was provided why so many warning s displayed on the dashboard.

Everytime i slowed down my jeep would cut off. i figured out i could get it to restart in neutral as i'm finding somewhere to coast off road, but would have to put in park to shift back to drive. i made it to dealer and they said it very common problem and hopefully a recall will be soon because they dont know how to fix the problem. the problem seems to be the jeep using oil and then the engine starts shutting down to protect further damage. they filled with oil and it ran fine.. the dealers temporary solution is to do a oil consumption test to turn into mopar. so i have to have them check the oil every 1000 miles. the first 1000 it used very little and they said go ahead and try another 1000 and come back. i made it to about 500 miles and now my jeep will not start. thankfully it is in my driveway and i didn't break down on the street again. i'm going to top off the oil and see if that does anything. i'm afraid of another problem because it's not making any noise when i try starting. also, february 2019 i did get the recall fixed (power control module) from the dealer. so when i went back for this issue they told me i'd have to pay them $130 for them to even take a look. i was surprised to be treated like this with a brand new vehicle so i went to the dealer in the next county and they told me about the oil consumption problem and didn't charge me! another thing is the screen/instrument panel has went out a few times. once the original dealer reset it, but it still goes out sometimes or it gets stuck on the dial/keypad screen. bottom line: now my 2019 jeep is stuck in my driveway and there doesn't seem to be any solution.

Tire pressure gauge

Twice this week my car has suddenly died while driving it and would not start back up, battery light comes on. i have had to wait before trying to start again and got it started by pushing the gas down while turning the key. luckily i have been on my dirt driveway both times. i'd be terrified if this happened on a busy highway, i'm getting more and more disappointed with this vehicle.

This is the 2nd time the 2019 jeep cherokee completely lost power and shut off while driving. all warning dash lights came on after pulling off the road put in park and restart. warning says tran need svc. acc/fcw limited functionality. frontend and rear collision disabled. the shifter is loud and clunky when putting in gear. dealership said when it happened 3months ago there was nothing they could find wrong. please help b4 it shuts off and someone gets hurt. thank you

Twice i have driven my car and when slowing down the battery light comes on and the car shuts off. i put the car in park and turn the key to the off position and then turn back on and the car runs again. *dt *tr

My radio goes in an out but shows audio off. my push start don't want to work sometimes and my ac will go out

This has happened on two occasions once on the highway in traffic and yesterday 8/28/19. both times while the car was in drive sitting in traffic the car would stop and the parking brake will engage and after following the instructions on the dash the brake will not cut off. both times i had to put my car in park in the middle of traffic to turn it completely off and restart it. i bought this car last october 12th, this has been a known issue with chrysler per your site since october 19th of last year. it states chrysler was supposed to reach out to purchasers regarding this issue and now almost a year later i have heard nothing. it's completely unacceptable and i risk my life everyday i step foot in this car.

Takata recall this morning 8/26/19 we were driving up a hill at a light in rush hour traffic and the car just stopped and completely cut off while still in drive. we attempted to turn the car back on, but the only thing working were the brakes. realizing it had stalled,we attempted repeatedly for about 5 mins and were able to turn the car back on. the only light that flashed was the battery light. dealership said there is no recall and wants $80 for the diagnostic test. took it elsewhere and no codes came back. problem still remains an issue.

My 2019 jeep cherokee trailhawk has been in the shop for the second time since dec 14 for electrical problems. attached is my 10/27/19 letter to chrysler describing the problem. basically car cuts off without warning while driving (even on freeway) and have to drift to a stop and attempt to restart car several times before it starts up.

Tl* the contact owns a 2019 jeep cherokee. while driving 45 mph, the battery and electronic throttle control indicators illuminated and the vehicle stalled. the contact was close to home and managed to restart the engine after a few minutes to drive home. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the dealer was not contacted. the manufacturer was contacted. the failure mileage was 16,467.

When driving vechicle at about 50-55mph battery light and stop/start technology light comes on on the dash.shortly after i lose power steering.this has happened three times.very dangerous since you can lose control of vechicle.i have been able to pull over and shut down and restart vechicle to regain control.seems to happen randomly.brought to dealor after two times.they flashed and updated software,so they told me.happened again after about 7-10 days.very dangerous.vechicle under warranty.jeep does not seem to know the cause or the solution.please help before something happens to somebody.vechicle was travelling straight,in motion.when stopped at light or sign, could not turn.power steering was lost.engine still on,but no turning or steering function.happened once on highway, and twice on city streets.

Takata recallfor about a week and a half, the battery light flashed once or twice while driving, and close to two weeks while driving all power was lost. the vehicle just stopped in the middle of the road, while it was still in motion. thank god i was not on the freeway. it was early in the morning, and the street was not crowded. i activated the emergency lights, and waited a few minutes then restarted it. i drove it for about fifteen miles. while doing so the battery light kept flashing intermitently. vehicle is not safe to drive, there is something wrong with the electrical system. waiting for the dealer to fix the issue(s).

5th complaint here about this vehicle which is now lemon law buy back due to lunging against the brakes at a stop, failure to shift properly and a throttle responsive clunk that has never been resolved. the only repairs fca would approve is reprogramming the computers which was completed several times and still has these issues.

Ignition not starting at all while pushing starter button and pressing brake pedal. jeep has been in the shop several times. key fobs replaced, starter button replaced and receiver hub replaced. jeep continues to have this problem intermittently over the last 6 months.

Had this car 1 month a after almost being rear ended twice found myself jumping out the car before being hot by semi .. and several times by other cars almost reared me.. the start/stop system is at fault ..is jeep or its makers going to take responsibility if i get reared because car didn't start to keep up with traffic.... i can prove my point.... i'm sitting in stop and go traffic on the interstate all the cars in front of me takes off semi coming up behind me assumes i am taking off as well and doesn't plan on coming to a complete stop... i'm hold brake with left foot ..to keep from rolling pressing on accelerator car does not start. freaking out bail out the door in front of on coming vehicles almost getting run over by them as well truck stops 2 inches from my car.. is chrysler going to pay for my car and injuries over this flaw and not have to resort to my insurance. because of their forced flaw.. i'll send a copy of this to my friends who can also relate to this problem thanks for listening ... *js

The past five days, every time i turn left or right my "low oil pressure light" comes on. i keep up with my oil. when i start my vehicle and drive about a mile, my start/stop will stop the vehicle and my battery light will turn on when my batteries life is at 14.2 v. the voltage of my battery has been moving back and forth between 13-14.2 it will not go any higher or any lower. my car should not be completely shutting off when i'm driving it. after my battery light pops up, a message on my vehicle will say put your vehicle in park and once i do i turn my vehicle off and try to start it and it won't. after the third time of trying to restart it it hesitates but does start.

On 6/8/2019, i pulled through my gate, left the vehicle in park to close the gate which takes a few seconds. my vehicle completely shut down. restarted, ac was off, audio also off. drove for about 35 miles, made 2 stops, all ok. next leg of trip approx 20 miles, coming into another town and approaching traffic light. at the light as i stopped, the vehicle again shut down in drive at the stop light in considerable amount of traffic. this was not the auto stop/start, it shut down again. had to put in park, it did restart, and again, ac off, audio off. proceeded to my next stop where the vehicle tried to shut down as i pulled into parking spot, i was able to complete parking. upon returning to the vehicle, it started, but now have back up camera failure which has not worked since that episode. this was terribly dangerous as i was in a lot of traffic and was helpless until i got it to restart.

Electrical issues. the stop/start and stability control go out while driving. seems to be random. this happens while driving. dealership says nothing is wrong. i've captured dates and times this has happened and it's frequent - several times a week. one time i lost power steering and speedometer. dealership said 24 codes went off. couldn't t find problem. rebooted computer and said that it was fine. it isn't fine.

Vehicle randomly stalled while driving. had oil changed by dealer very recently. unknown cause. based on recalls for related vehicles, possibly caused by faulty transmission or electrical system. occurred after stopping at a stop sign, and then accelerating up to 45 mph on a busy road. shortly after accelerating, the touchscreen went out, the vehicle stalled, and the battery light came on. was luckily able to pull off on a small area at the side of the road to let other cars pass. was only able to get going again after turning off the engine and restarting it.

The engine would complete shut off while in motion and require me to fully remove the key and restart the vehicle in order to get to a safe location. happened multiple times and the dealership service center can't find the problem with it.

The radio operates erratically and will bounce from one mode to another. the audio will go in and out as well as the air and heat. the screen goes back and forth between radio, controls, navigation, climate, apps, and media uncontrollably without any prompting from the driver or passenger. the vehicle was in motion each time it acted erratically causing major distraction and disruption to the driver. this happened on city streets, highways, while turning, and while parked with the car on. when brought to an authorized dealer they said that there was no problem and that nothing could be fixed.

As i have only had the car 3 days, i can't say what it 'used to' drive like. but more than a few times, i have been trying to accelerate from a stop, and the vehicle hesitates for a moment. sometimes i have been trying to make a left turn across traffic, or cross a busy highway. fortunately, i haven't been in any close calls yet, but i can definitely see how an accident could occur, if you push on the gas to make a turn and your car accelerates really slowly for the first 2 seconds. i will be taking my vehicle to the dealership on monday to see what can be done about it.

While riding the air conditioner will start blowing hot air for about 45 seconds and then start back blowing cool again.

My car shut off in the middle of the road or at the stop sign several times. i had to restart the car in order to start it and drive. the brakes have also squealed several times while slowing down on the local streets and interstate. the bluetooth takes 10-15 minutes to add the phone and sometimes does not connect until car is restarted. these incidents started to take place in may 2019

First incident took place yesterday when slowing down to stop. the car died and i lost power steering and everything went blank. i sat for 10 minutes due to not starting up. it sounded like a grinding noise when i went to turn it over. after starting it back i took it to the dealership. they stated it was a recall and it was fixed. well this morning i went to slow down at a stop sign when i went to accelerate the car died, i was stuck in 4 lanes of traffic. i finally got the car restarted and took it back to the dealership. they stated that they changed my oil and could tell that in looking into the issue that's what it is. they are going to keep the car over the weekend and let me know. however my friend has the same 2019 and her car has done the same thing after an oil change. something has to be done before someone gets killed.

As of may 5th experienced a safety risk with this jeep and it's 9 speed transmission. on the expressway and tried to merge to another expressway and vehicle failed to downshift or accelerate when attempting to merge. this was also accompanied with excessive gear hunting along with hard shifts and long/high rpm shifts. not to mention it will lunge or try to overpower the brakes when at a stop light. will be going to the shop for the 4th time for same issue. the problem is, it is random and never know what it will do next. this vehicle is a safety risk!

System controls shut down during driving. lcd goes blank, or screen locks up, and audio shuts off. sometimes, the entire control system shuts down and i have to stop and restart the car to get it to reboot. this happens while in motion and when at a stop.

Purchased the vehicle brand new in november 2018 and on several occasions within the past couple months, including today, the red brake light on the dash has spontaneously activated. most of the time it occurs when i come to a stop light and auto shut off kicks on, however, this issue is very serious since its basically stalling my vehicle while in route, and is very scary since i drive my child around. i've also taken it into the dealership to have it looked at and they are unable to determine the issue, which is extremely disheartening.

On 2/28/19 i purchased a 2019 jeep cherokee. on 4/15 i had to have the transmission replaced due to leak & failure. on 5/27 i had to have the dash instrument panel replaced due to failure, which i have video record of. on 7/10 i had to have the park sensor replaced due to failure & the vehicle throwing itself into park instructing me that door was ajar when it wasn't. i can only imagine if this had happened while i was doing 70mph on the freeway. my vin is not showing in any of the recalls, however three recalls pertain to me. so i need to know what to do to make ppl aware of these recalls. my vin needs to be added to the list. i have all repair reports needed to prove my vehicle is a safety issue. i have repetitively asked jeep to place me in a safer more reliable vehicle and they refuse to return my calls or assist me in any way, stating that 'this is why we have warranties' someone needs to contact me about this issue. i need help before my vehicle results in a fatal crash no kills my family and me. i am noting that i contacted the nhtsa about this issue on 9/11 and am awaiting a response.

My transmission began leaking badly and had to be replaced only days after i bought it. then my dash's electrical system failed causing it to only come on sometimes and not react to touchscreen, then my start stop sensor failed which caused the vehicle to register that it was not in park and some times putting itself into park until registering.

Radio volume control issues. volume fades in and out sporadically. happens anytime. this makes radio un-usable.

Am radio muffles on occasion. i have the alpine radio system with surround sound. it also has sirius radio which is not being subscribed to. it has been noticeable when car goes under an overpass but has also happened at other times. seemingly when crossing intersections. have not noticed this on fm.

When my vehicle is in motion, driving through city streets, and i try to apply the break it accelerates instead. the rpm's will reach 4000 or 5000 and hold there. i was told by chrystler to apply the gas quickly then break when this happens to stop my vehicle. this is unsafe and i do not feel comfortable in my own car. i also have an issue with the engine making a knocking sound at times, and the radio fades in and out, with that feature turned off, as well as shutting completely down and resetting itself. prior to the recall in nov of 2018 this same vehicle from one week of purchase would stall while i was driving through city streets. all of these things happen at a speed of 35 or less. the car went from stalling to after recall update it is now accelerating when trying to stop. the dealer has not been able to replicate and chrystler either so they are saying there is nothing wrong with the vehicle. i do not feel safe in my own car. i am worried there will be a time i will not be able to stop the car before causing an accident.

As i am driving the battery light comes on and the car starts to stall and i am prompted to put the car in park as the d is blinking as is the battery light. i have to turn my car off then back on and it takes a minute to turn on then it goes. my battery is at its halfway mark per the vehicle info on the car. then when i turn corners my car beeps and the speedometer word appears above the speed.

March 2019 i was making a right hand turn going about 4-6 mph onto a busy highway, when all of sudden my vehicle stalled in the middle of the lane i was turning onto. all the dash lights turned on. i placed the vehicle quickly in park , restarted the vehicle , placed it in gear and hurried to get out of the lane of travel. i then noticed a warning light , it's the auto stop start symbol with a circle around the a with an exclamation point near to the mileage area. thankfully i took a picture of this error. i took my vehicle to napleton and the service advisor stated that the vehicle could have a battery issue or the oil in the vehicle was low. the best thing about the error sign is, that it clears after you shut your vehicle off and restart it. even after showing the picture of the error the service department can not duplicate the issue. stated the vehicles system is not showing any error codes when they plug in their code box. it's been already 4 different occasions my vehicle stalls while turning or stopped at a light trying to move forward. i guess chrysler will not recognize the issue they are having with these vehicle until someone loses their life and they get sued for damages. i shouldn't have to deal with a stalling problems a new vehicle with less than 5000 miles.

Everything down to the engine has been replaced and still having problems with the idle being high sitting or moving, usually a very quite vehicle is now loud, smells like gas is leaking, auto shut off works sometimes, the unlock button on the handle most times won't unlock, when there's no one in the jeep and the button is pushed on the handle it says to push break to start the vehicle while still trying to unlock the doors and outside of the vehicle, hesitates to take off at times while pulling out from a stop sign or to pass someone

The vehicle's electrical system does not work properly. the uconnect screen fades in and out to total blackness. you cannot read anything. there is no way to change any of the settings. i had to turn the car off, start it again to get the screen to come on. it is dangerous when you are driving and have to guess what is happening on the screen. the radio does not work right. i start the car and it either comes on full blast volume, and then fades out to no sound, or it just has no sound at all. i followed the owner's manual to reset the uconnect system using the uconnect menu reset button. that did absolutely nothing! i cannot trust the car or the screen in the uconnect system. the second issue and it is a big one! the car stalls when you step on the accelerator! i tried to pass a car, and stepped down to accelerate and the jeep stalled! i almost wrecked! when you step down on the accelerator the engine feels like it is going to stall. i am not a mechanic, so i do not know if all of this is electrical, or engine related. this is an on going problem.

Car radio/computer turns off several times while driving, won't reconnect to carplay (which has navigation) until you stop the vehicle and restart the engine, car does not register fob action (unlock, restart, open tailgate, alarm) and the batteries were good and the car didn't give alert that no fob was detected. once i finally got in the car, the engine wouldn't start.

Tl* the contact owns a 2019 jeep cherokee. while driving, the vehicle lost power without warning. the contact shifted into neutral and the vehicle restarted. the instrument panel indicators flashed as the contact drove home. the following day, the vehicle was started, but then shut off and failed to restart. the contact called the manufacturer and had the vehicle towed to fairfield chrysler dodge jeep ram (1409 montour blvd, danville, pa 17821, (570) 275-3300). the dealer diagnosed that the abs unit needed to be replaced. after two weeks, the contact drove the vehicle and it stalled two miles later. all the instrument panel indicators illuminated again. the contact was able to restart the vehicle and barely made it home. the vehicle was towed again to the dealer where it was diagnosed that there was a loose wire. the vehicle was currently at the dealer. the contact wants to return the vehicle and stated that it was unsafe to drive. the failure mileage was 13.

Started vehicle and was about to drive out of drive way, and the 8.4inch screen was white with multi color lines going down the front, after a few minutes it went black. radio still works, just now visual. happened today 12 feb 2019
