Problems with 2014 Honda Accord UNKNOWN OR OTHER

On average, the 2014 Honda Accord starts to “feel” problems with the UNKNOWN OR OTHER and its various aspects after 49 924 miles.

Recently reported UNKNOWN OR OTHER problems on 2014 Honda Accord

I have had 1 oem honda starter replaced and 2 aftermarket ones. the car intermittently starts. sometimes immediately and sometimes leaves me stranded. i took the car in a few times to the honda dealership in the past and since i couldn't replicate it they couldn't do anything and was charged the diagnostic fee $180. this car is so unreliable that i can't even have my kids drive it fearing them being stranded. i had the car towed at least 6 times. to have the car start fine the next day or even hours later. there are so many complaints with others owning the same generation honda accord on all the forums online. it is not safe at all. i have been dealing with this around 40k and now my car is 160k, since no one seems to be able to fix it.

During colder weather and upon cold start engine rattles until car engine is warm.

Oil is excessively burning. alternator isn't charging car battery.

Defective starter; i'm having issues with the starter. at times my 2014 honda accord v6 will not start. after the third time, it will start successfully.

Intermediate starter screech when starting vehicle. vehicle will not start when this happens and happens two or three times before the vehicle starts.

I have replaced the starter on this car 2 separate occasions and it still has the same issue. some days the car starts just fine and other times you go to art art the car and it doesn't start and makes this terrifying grinding noise. honda really needs to address this issue. i have been dealing with this for the last 2 years. the car isn't old enough to be having these kind of issues. i am always fearful that i'm going to be in a situation where i need to get out of somewhere as fast as possible and i wouldn't be able to do so due to the car not starting right. it is unsafe for me to take my family places for fear that we will be stranded. i have been stranded due to this car not starting at all a few months after replacing the starter.

I notice couple of week ago that my car would not start on the first push button press. the cost honda dealer gave me for the repair was $755.00. i called him back the next day to inform him about all of the complaints about the starter for this make and model. i've read and plain as day he say honda has no reports about this being a on going issues. i also call the honda customer care line, and after being place on hold several times, i received the same answer.

My 2014 honda accord plug in has stalled twice while driving (once on the freeway and once in the middle of a santa monica boulevard). no warning lights or noises to give me the fyi that it's stalling, it just suddenly starts to slow and if i press on the gas pedal it compresses to the floor with ease...it also shows me in ev mode when the car has no ev charge remaining. it's like it's in limp mode. turning the car off and turning it back on again fixes the issue, but when i've taken it to the dealer (twice) they have pulled the computer and have found no records on the car. they say it's "as if the car has never been driven before".

A few weeks ago, our 2014 honda accord lx, would not consistently start. i took it to two different auto-shops, including the dealership. the first auto shop could not figure out what was wrong. they said they started the car ~100 times and the car started every time. i then took the car to a dealership. the dealership said it was the starter. i replaced the starter and the car started up fine. a couple of days after fixing the car, the car did not start. the battery was tested and is okay. our car was towed to a trusted mechanic. the mechanic said that the starter was fine and that he suspects the original did not need replacement. he said there's some sort of electrical issue, but could not figure out exactly where the issue is. he said it must be somewhere between the ignition and starter. our leaving the car with him so that he can have other technicians inspect it.

Rear tire wear consistent with suspension issue. rear tires with normal tread wear are chucked and causing vibration. currently running goodyear eagle ls-2 tires and this is the second set that have failed in this manner.

Headlights keep blowing and car will not start guessing it's the starter. i think the wires keep blowing the lights out.

Grinding noise at start up. had to replace starter at great cost

Car does not start sometimes and when i contacted honda they said 800 $ for the starter issue

This just out of warranty vehicle has had some odd problems, some that made the car unsafe to drive, 1) ac compressor clutch melted onto compressor. fixed under warranty. 2) timing belt tensioner leaked fluid, fixed under warranty. 3) dealer diagnosed abs module fault. an intermittent failure. car was out of warranty. this problem caused every other electronic safety system in the car to intermittently fail. opened a case with american honda who denied any responsibility for the problem. these units fail rarely and should last the life of the vehicle. the part (36,000 mile 3-yr warranty) was even back ordered from the manufacturer. for example, only 1 unit was replaced in atlanta, ga since 2014, they wanted almost $1,600 to fix the issue. took it to another specialist who fixed it for under $600 by finding a used part. i think honda should have been more accommodating and concerned. this problem caused the abs, ldw, fcw, and traction control systems to eventually fail. literally, i was lucky that i didn't get in a bad accident as the abs was actually functioning (the day a car turned left in front of me) and saved me from skidding into and t-boning another car. but all these odd issues just leaves me wondering... when's the next weird problem going to pop up?

Car just turned 5 years old with 85,000 miles and the car won't start. i was almost stranded at the coffee shop when after the 12th time trying to start car it started. when key turned nothing happens. i immediately took to dealer where told me the starter is no good and needs to be replaced. i'm extremely disappointed and will probably not buy another honda. i originally bought a honda because they were known for their reliability but a $700 issue on a 5 year old car is not reliable. i would've bought a chevy if that's what i was looking for. when i bought the honda i was told by salesman i wouldn't have to worry about anything until 300,000 miles. well i didn't even make it to 100,000 miles.

The car will not start from the first push of starting button while the brake pedal is depressed. it takes at least 3 times to start the cart. i changed the battery and battery for keys. i went to the dealership and they the problem of not starting from first time still happened.

My 2014 honda accord lanecamera doesn't work out of blue it start with my reverse camera not working not wrong happen it just stop working out of blue please have honda dealer cover it because it's a safety issue thank you

While my husband was driving the car to work the car has stalled twice. very scary situation. it gives no warning, he said.

My car would not start. i was told i needed a new starter. the car is not more than 5 years old and only 47,000 in mileage. poor honda! i'd like a more reliable car that will not keep me stranded.

I've noticed that the car is consuming oil at least 1 quart before 1k miles. i took it to the dealer at yonkers honda on 12/28/2018 and the service representative advised to bring back the car at 1k miles for an oil consumption test.

I am having the same starter issues as so many on a blog that i was reading after having my 2014 honda accord for 4 year. i just came back from the dealership and i was told you need to change the starter and this part is out of warranty. they quoted me 865. then i complain and they called the honda rep and they told me i had to pay 200. i am still in a state of shock after seeing all these complain and honda hasn't addressed this issue yet. i am so disappointed with honda and its reputation

Pressing the start button with key fob next to it turns on the ignition as well as the lights on the dash but does not crank the engine, will have to try multiple times to start the engine. this is happening intermittently and started about a month ago, seems to be getting progressively worse as the last incident required repeating 6 times to get this started. purchased the vehicle new from the dealership and only has 30k miles, all maintenance performed at the dealership. disappointed to experience such issue from a honda as the decision to purchase was solely based on the reputation of honda.

Rear camera shows only a black screen with orange guidelines it no longer shows outside, when car is shifted into reverse. side camera still functions

I have been experiencing trouble starting my car recently. i push the start button have my food on the break and it takes a few times sometimes over 4 times to actually start the car. lights and everything come on when i push to start but the engine is not turning over. dealership tested battery, alternator, starter, and wiring and everything looked to be working correctly. my car was checked twice for the battery sensor recall issue affecting my make and model and it checked out fine both times.

We have approximately 34,000 miles on our 2014 honda accord v6. as many people have complained, there is a faulty starter issue. when the vehicle is stationary, and we are attempting to start the vehicle, we depress the push start button and hear many clicks but no turn over of the engine. we have to make several attempts to start the engine. upon calling the dealership, they were well aware of the issue but stated honda has yet to do anything to resolve the widespread problem.

Fuel pump 2014 honda accord ..

To whom it may concern, i've been reviewing several website's where car owners of 2014 honda accord sedan's has reported where the ignition will not turn over when you insert their key. i have to turn my key and take it out at least 5 times in over for the ignition to turn over. this is a major concern for my especially if i'm stranded. i was in my parking garage on 11/19/18 at 5:30pm where my car will not start. i had to take my key out and insert it in the ignition for about 5 times before it turnover. my car has had its routinely check ups and i'm not sure as to why this is happening all or suddenly. i'm noticing that this has been happen for about 2 months. when i taken my car to my local dealership- duval honda on casset ave and they stated that no one has reported this issue. however i have review plenty of complaints of the similar issue that i'm having.

Backup camera display screen is black and lane departure camera not functioning.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 honda accord. after the contact's son parked and turned off the vehicle, it caught on fire later that day. the fire department extinguished the fire and a police report was filed. the cause of the fire was unknown. there were no injuries sustained. it was not determined if the vehicle was destroyed. the vehicle was towed to an unknown location and was not taken to a dealer to be diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage and vin were unknown.

I recently came upon an article about 2014 honda's that would over heat and you would lose power causing the vehicle to stall. this happened to my vehicle about a week ago i was driving on the highway at low speed in traffic and my vehicle began to stall before it stalled out i pressed the gas and it returned to normal rpm. it happened again one more time about two minutes later and hasn't happened since.

Piston rings need to be checked. went for oil change and there was no oil in car tech said there was not a leak and it must be burning oil car was at 30%

Back up camera no longer working right turn camera no longer working

Recently my 2014 bonda accord sport has been acting up the last week of april 2018 going out for lunch i was going to turn on car and i would not start sh!t starter problem i retried eventually car started up again but now with electronic steering ,abs, tpms, and stability control lights lit up at same time same day drove car to dealer have it checked out but 2 miles away from getting there the lights turned off just my luck so headead back home. now on 5/22/2018 it happend againg this time while driving home it started with break pedal when applied it would pulse like when you slam brakes and you feel abs doing its job mind you i was in stop and go traffic when traffic cleared up the steering wheel started acting up thats when same lights on dash came up again (see pics) waiting till tuesday to go get car checked out.

Problem: seems to be with ignition. while car is stationary, the vehicle fails at the initial turn of the key for ignition. failure of ignition may happen 2-3 times before car will run. not only has this now happened more than half a dozen times, but we are also seeing larger number of tries before the vehicle will start. (example: first several occurrences the car would start after 1-2 tries. now it is more common to take 2-3 tries before ignition.) this could cause any of us to be stranded unexpectantly...especially concerned if this happens on a trip away from home, &/or to wife or daughter alone. we heard other years of same honda accord is having this problem. so we were surprised not to see our make and model listed for recall.

My transmission went out at 100k miles uncertain why but its obviously a recall on a bad car im still making payments and the car doesnt work the car has engine issues and no cold a/c and many other issues i think this car needs to be overlooked at its only been since 2014 til 2018 and the car should have not had any issues im so sad that honda let me down i owned several hondas im the past and i trusted there vehicle but im not happy with this 2014 honda accord sport i hope this issues gets doubt with and honda understands i owned honda accords before many of them and this one has been a lemon from what i see not a good year for honda 2014 or my car was a lemon

I purchased 2014 honda accord sport new in march 2014. after 33000 miles the starter began to not start the engine after the first attempt and sometimes the second or third attempt.i brought the car into liberty honda hartford ct. for service.dealer said the starter was defective and not covered under warranty since the time was over the 3year coverage period eventhough the mileage was under the 36000 miles.dealer said 2014 and 2015 years had some bad starters installed by factory.i paid for new starter installed for $775. why did honda put bad starters in cars that would become defective shortly after the warranty expiration? many complaints from 2014 & 2015 honda accord owners about the problem.honda should have issued a repair based on goodwill. dealer said no. when you can't start the car quickly that's a safety issue. car would not start quickly while parked in driveway overnight, parked at a store parking with engine still warm or parked on city street with engine still warm.time of year was april and may 2018.

Car will not start when the key is turned but after repeated attempts and turning the switch on and off and turning the wheel and pushing on the brake it sometimes just starts. the car has 55000 miles. has been happening 3 months getting worse.

I only have 29,600+ miles on my 2014 honda accord with trouble starting car engine. sometimes it takes 2 to 3 times before engine starts. i brought to my honda dealer and they told me that i am looking at a $700+ bill to replace the defective starter. i see that other owners have the same problem!

Our 2014 honda accord (purchased "certified pre-owned") has an intermittent issue. first of all the car has 53,000 miles. have already had to replace the battery; since replacing the battery, a myriad of lights come and go on the dash for approximately 1 month. now the lights are staying on - brake, abs, fcw, ldw, steering assist. dealer says "probably" the abs module ($1400). launched a complaint about this issue with honda america - they tell me to take it in and have it checked. my question(s) were (a) by spending $1400, is this going to fix it or will it "probably" fix it. (b) how long before it happens again?- keep in mind the first one lasted 53,000 miles (c) how dangerous is this? no answers to any of these questions were answered; the only thing that was clear was that it wasn't a widespread issue because the nhsta or honda hadn't issued any kind of tsb or recall. i thought it was somewhat telling when i called another dealership, spoke with the desk person in service. while over the phone, explained the lights that were on - the answer of "it's the abs module" was instant. for something that isn't "common" or widespread, this was a very quick reply. also a google search turns up other issues just like the one we are having. just wonder how safe this is?

Nothing happen to the car. just one day start car and the car fcw and ldw system failed then all the other lights stay on also.we had to replace modulator part# 57110-t2f-l12. we were 23,000 miles over warranty. we did not even pay car off yet. i had to paid $2,000 to replace. never had any other problems. just felt very in unsafe with the system that suppose to make me feel safe kept say it has failed.

The keyless entry allows the car to be driven without having the key in the car. according to honda, this is a feature. as i have had to drive many miles to bring the key (which was in the car when it was started, but left in the house before driving off) to my husband because he didn't realize he did not have his key until he went to start his car. he was 9 miles away from our home. in my mind, this is a problem because you can become stranded without knowing it.

Something in connection with engine loss there where around 300 cats recalled was just wondering if ours was one of them please email me back on this issue as i want to take care of this matter asap.it sayys they might have to replace my block at no charge.

Was not notified of the airbag recall at all!

Tl-contact owns a 2014 honda accord..... inquired about general recall letter from honda...honda charged contact for new battery... after contact had a letter recalling the battery. honda stated due to warranty expiration they would have to charge her for a new battery. contact stated she had battery recall fixed in november had letter from honda prior to being fixed.. contact stated after paying for new battery she called honda manufacturer and honda had stated they would not reimburse her due to vehicle having no warranty...contact filed a complaint..... ..... 0 recalls associated with this vin

The car consume oil and sometimes the oil level completely dried up at a mileage of 2500 miles and i have to change the oil level regularly because there is no message is popping up to warn me.

I have been doing the service with honda of concord since i bought the car from them since 2015. my car tires got bursted this year(2017) and i went with my insurance through honda of concord collision center to fix the same. during jan 2017, the honda checked all my tires as per my insurance fixes only 2 tires and never reported any issues with my other 2 tires. even the service station, where i had been doing my service since 2015, did not suggest or did my tire alignment. however, proactively, i did my tire alignment @ 26000 miles, when honda of concord collision center replaced my tires. after that i have done tire rotations, routine check with oil fills with honda of concord service station. since my service, in the past one month, i had my tpms light on for 3 times, every time i called honda, they asked me to reset it myself in the car, which i did. but, i felt before my warranty expires around 36 k miles, i called in honda for appointment sep 2017. today, when i dropped my car, honda service guys called me and said, i own responsibility in changing my tires which has wear and tear cover till 60 k miles and i should take responsibility to change brakes at rear end, fluids, etc etc.. when i asked about my warranty on tires and brakes.. they were reluctant and said its not safe to drive all of a sudden. i had given car for service only a month back, where i asked them to check everything and i believe, they did not do anything, since they are reporting me now to drive as unsafe and not at the time of tire rotation or checks. this is very bad and dint expect from honda

Honda starter replaced under 36k miles but out of warranty by timeframe. honda refuses t reimburse for the replacement starter eventhough they were notified before the vehicle reached 36k miles. the 2014 honda accord v6 had the same issue and a service bulletin was issued where the starter was replaced (https://www.cars.com/articles/2013-2015-honda-accord-crosstour-starter-issue-1420684480836/ ) this seems to be an ongoing issue for vehicles that are not within this service bulletin but honda will not repair doesn't seem fair to the consumer that they are aware of this problem and leave us to fight to try to get them to do whats right. this will be my last honda.

As soon as my warranty ran out, a little over 3 yrs and close to 40,000 miles, my starter went bad. since it was not under warranty, we had the starter replaced in late 2017. my starter started making noises again and would not start sporadically within a year. it has gradually started happening more frequently. my car is 5 yrs old and has 90 000 + miles, and is going to need a 2nd starter replaced. something has to be burning up my starter.

The affected vehicles may have been assembled with improperly torqued connecting rod bolts, wich can cause the engine to lose power or leak oil. loss of engine power may result in a vehicle stall, increasing the risk of crash.if the engine leaks oil in the proximity of hot engine or exhaust components, there is an increased risk of a fire. hondas number for this recall is jp2.i see some oil between block cylinder and head of my car.

My car was parked in my driveway when i came out in the morning after a thunderstorm and the sunroof and windows were half way down, car is soaked. it's a 2014 honda accord and i told the dealer mechanic, they said it was my fault i must have hit the lock button on my car keypad twice, but i lock the car from the handle and leave my keys on a key ring on the wall not in my purse. he also told me water wouldn't hurt the leather seats. they didn't even help me dry my car out.this is the second time my car has done this and theirs no way to fix it, i will be trading it in on something that's not honda before winter comes and i end up with snow in my car. if you are considering buying a honda, don't ! i thought this wouldn't happen to me, that it was few and far between but it did happen, twice!
