I have had 1 oem honda starter replaced and 2 aftermarket ones. the car intermittently starts. sometimes immediately and sometimes leaves me stranded. i took the car in a few times to the honda dealership in the past and since i couldn't replicate it they couldn't do anything and was charged the diagnostic fee $180. this car is so unreliable that i can't even have my kids drive it fearing them being stranded. i had the car towed at least 6 times. to have the car start fine the next day or even hours later. there are so many complaints with others owning the same generation honda accord on all the forums online. it is not safe at all. i have been dealing with this around 40k and now my car is 160k, since no one seems to be able to fix it.

During colder weather and upon cold start engine rattles until car engine is warm.

Oil is excessively burning. alternator isn't charging car battery.

Defective starter; i'm having issues with the starter. at times my 2014 honda accord v6 will not start. after the third time, it will start successfully.

Intermediate starter screech when starting vehicle. vehicle will not start when this happens and happens two or three times before the vehicle starts.

I have replaced the starter on this car 2 separate occasions and it still has the same issue. some days the car starts just fine and other times you go to art art the car and it doesn't start and makes this terrifying grinding noise. honda really needs to address this issue. i have been dealing with this for the last 2 years. the car isn't old enough to be having these kind of issues. i am always fearful that i'm going to be in a situation where i need to get out of somewhere as fast as possible and i wouldn't be able to do so due to the car not starting right. it is unsafe for me to take my family places for fear that we will be stranded. i have been stranded due to this car not starting at all a few months after replacing the starter.

I notice couple of week ago that my car would not start on the first push button press. the cost honda dealer gave me for the repair was $755.00. i called him back the next day to inform him about all of the complaints about the starter for this make and model. i've read and plain as day he say honda has no reports about this being a on going issues. i also call the honda customer care line, and after being place on hold several times, i received the same answer.

My 2014 honda accord plug in has stalled twice while driving (once on the freeway and once in the middle of a santa monica boulevard). no warning lights or noises to give me the fyi that it's stalling, it just suddenly starts to slow and if i press on the gas pedal it compresses to the floor with ease...it also shows me in ev mode when the car has no ev charge remaining. it's like it's in limp mode. turning the car off and turning it back on again fixes the issue, but when i've taken it to the dealer (twice) they have pulled the computer and have found no records on the car. they say it's "as if the car has never been driven before".

A few weeks ago, our 2014 honda accord lx, would not consistently start. i took it to two different auto-shops, including the dealership. the first auto shop could not figure out what was wrong. they said they started the car ~100 times and the car started every time. i then took the car to a dealership. the dealership said it was the starter. i replaced the starter and the car started up fine. a couple of days after fixing the car, the car did not start. the battery was tested and is okay. our car was towed to a trusted mechanic. the mechanic said that the starter was fine and that he suspects the original did not need replacement. he said there's some sort of electrical issue, but could not figure out exactly where the issue is. he said it must be somewhere between the ignition and starter. our leaving the car with him so that he can have other technicians inspect it.

Rear tire wear consistent with suspension issue. rear tires with normal tread wear are chucked and causing vibration. currently running goodyear eagle ls-2 tires and this is the second set that have failed in this manner.

Headlights keep blowing and car will not start guessing it's the starter. i think the wires keep blowing the lights out.

Grinding noise at start up. had to replace starter at great cost

Car does not start sometimes and when i contacted honda they said 800 $ for the starter issue

This just out of warranty vehicle has had some odd problems, some that made the car unsafe to drive, 1) ac compressor clutch melted onto compressor. fixed under warranty. 2) timing belt tensioner leaked fluid, fixed under warranty. 3) dealer diagnosed abs module fault. an intermittent failure. car was out of warranty. this problem caused every other electronic safety system in the car to intermittently fail. opened a case with american honda who denied any responsibility for the problem. these units fail rarely and should last the life of the vehicle. the part (36,000 mile 3-yr warranty) was even back ordered from the manufacturer. for example, only 1 unit was replaced in atlanta, ga since 2014, they wanted almost $1,600 to fix the issue. took it to another specialist who fixed it for under $600 by finding a used part. i think honda should have been more accommodating and concerned. this problem caused the abs, ldw, fcw, and traction control systems to eventually fail. literally, i was lucky that i didn't get in a bad accident as the abs was actually functioning (the day a car turned left in front of me) and saved me from skidding ...

Car just turned 5 years old with 85,000 miles and the car won't start. i was almost stranded at the coffee shop when after the 12th time trying to start car it started. when key turned nothing happens. i immediately took to dealer where told me the starter is no good and needs to be replaced. i'm extremely disappointed and will probably not buy another honda. i originally bought a honda because they were known for their reliability but a $700 issue on a 5 year old car is not reliable. i would've bought a chevy if that's what i was looking for. when i bought the honda i was told by salesman i wouldn't have to worry about anything until 300,000 miles. well i didn't even make it to 100,000 miles.
