Drove the car without a key it. we started the car with the keyless start, and my son had to go inside to get something in the house but forgot to grab the keys to leave (someone else locked the house door) the car was on still running and we drove off. now we are stranded! i only realized he didn't grab the key when i tried looking for them after we stopped. honda says they do not have anything that makes this preventable. you should not be allowed to drive off from your keys! what if i was in a remote area of the mountains with no cell signal?! this is very unsafe.
I bought the car certified used from honda. 2 days after purchase, my son pulled into the dealership (to have cosmetic work done) and the cars engine "locked up".( the car salesman was present at this time) the car just "died". the dealer said they would recharge the battery, as that was the problem. i asked for them to replace the battery, so if this happened again, we would know 100%, that it was something else causing the car to lose all power while driving. less then 3 weeks later, 6 days before owning the car for a full month, my son is driving the car, and while in the middle of a 4 way intersection, the vehicle loses all power and stops dead in the middle of the road. the first time, the vehicle was pulling forward into a parking space, the second, driving forward with a slight turn. after arguing with the dealer that this was in fact a huge safety problem, and i nor my son felt safe in the vehicle, did they agree to buy the vehicle back, if i was willing to buy another vehicle from them.
Had to change the starter 6/2017 and then again 4/2018 car would not start
The ac condenser got a hole in it from something on the road, been reading around and a lot of people have had the same problem, to me it is not okay that the condenser is so easily damaged to the point that a lot of people are saying something about it
I was on my way to la driving my 2014 honda accord lx, southbound on hwy 5. after about 3 hours of driving, i was in the right lane with both hands on the wheel, cruise control on going about 72 mph when the car suddenly veered to the left. i tried to slow down with the brake and fought with the car trying to get it to go straight however the car was out of control. i tried to turn the steering wheel to the right to stop the car from going to the left however the car would not cooperate and was all over the road, both lanes. it continued to swerve left into the right lane causing it to spin backwards off the road and into the dirt. i still was unable to stop the car as it continued then rolled over. i was upside down and trapped in my car. my feet were under the steering wheel and my body was lengthwise across the passenger seat....my seat belt still on. i unbuckled and tried to open the door which i could not open. my cell phone was on a charger and was still within reach so i immediately called 911 (9:35am) and told dispatch i was in an accident and another motorist had already called it in. the chp officer was able to pull the door open. i had a towel on the passenger seat which was now under me so i handed it to him to lay over the glass, i was then able to crawl out of my car. my hands were bleeding especially one spot on my left hand that wouldn't stop so the officer got out his emergency bag and handed me gauze to put on my hand. eventually the bleeding stopped. the chp said he has seen accidents like mine and the outcome was not good. 2014 honda accords are under investigation for power steering issues. complaints state 'car pulling to the left'. (carproblemzoo.com) medical issues: whiplash, soft tissue injury to neck and back, cuts to hands and left arm, bruises to left arm, thigh and knee. was unable to upload pictures.
For a couple of weeks my honda accord exl (2014) has been giving me trouble when i try to start it up. i put in a new battery about 2 months ago and had it tested several times. at random times when i try to start my vehicle it only turns on the console and not the engine, after i turn it off to try to start it up again the brake pedal seems to get a bit locked and it isn't as easy to press down on it.
We have had our2014hondaaccordfor just one year. all of our family members have been hit in the head and back by the trunk door. the trunk does not stay open on even a modest grade, but does not fall down for several seconds, close down suddenly with a light wind not allowing people to lean into the trunk before it hits them. injury to death could happen anytimes from the trunk lid lock. i have owned 10 cars and have never had one where the trunk lid will not remain up.
Oil consumption: burning engine oil engine oil level is near empty within 5000 miles oil change interval flash and gone low engine oil warning light on dashboard which is hard to notice the problem
My 2014 honda accord has been leaving me stranded because the car kills the battery. it started last year and the dealer said the battery was fine, and left it at that. now a year later the batter is still testing good but the car has left me 3 times in one day in 2 different occasions. i permanently have to cart jumping cables just i. case. i'm so sad to see that i'm paying and i've been such a faithful honda client and this is really devestating.
Unlock car with remote only to come back to the car and it has locked itself again.
The trunk has opened several times on its own. the vehicle was taken to the dealer twice. first time the latch and the cable were replaced. the second time i was told the key was reset. this is still happening and needs to be addressed.. vehicle is usually parked when this happens.
Hanging a handicap placard from the auto dimming rear view mirror caused a wiring harness short. the short was intermmitent at first and caused a partial loss of accessories (ac, radio, etc.) while driving. within 5 miles of the loss of accessories, a hard short occurred and the vehicle could not be started. luckily the vehicle had been parked when this condition occurred dealer refused to cover repair under warranty indicating that the condition was caused by an outside source (the handicap placard). i appealed to american honda 7/13/16 and the same decision was upheld.

Sometimes when i press the gas pedal from a stop i will not get power and i'm afraid that an accident will occur when this happens. i believe the oxygen sensor may be the cause. lack of power.
On a sunday morning, i started my car in a driveway - turned on the heater and allowed the car to warm up. when i began to back out of the driveway there was a bunch of thick smoke coming from the hood of the car. then, i heard a loud pop sound and turned off the engine and quickly jumped out of the car. a mechanic looked at my car and determined that the water pump froze which caused the alternator belt to break. the next day, once my car was towed to the dealership, the determination was confirmed by the service department at the dealership. but, as to this day - i don't know why it happened. do i have a lemon or will this happen again? could this happen while i'm driving causing a horrible accident? after all, this car only had 18,571 miles on it and i bought it new on march 9, 2014. i am very concerned because of the unknown future safety risk.
My car has a lane watch camera that engages when using your right blinker. when making an outbound call, you say the name of the person you are calling and then you receive a verbal notification "calling _____" if between this time and the time it takes for the system to initiate the call and dial tone starts you have to make a right turn, which engages the lane watch camera, the call is canceled. once you've turned the corner and the camera has turned off, it will again say "calling ____" however it does not perform the call and just sits on that screen. if you live in a city where frequent turns are a normality, if you're trying to do so and make outbound calls it's very difficult and distracting as multiple attempts are often needed to make the call. i've since turned off the lane watch camera to prevent it from disrupting outbound calls.
My sunroof exploded while driving down the interstate. nothing hit it; it just exploded.
Upon trying to accelerate, the engine hesitated then stalled. upon restarting and attempting to accelerate, the engine surged forward. driving on the freeway the engine lost power momentarily then reengaged. the a.c./climate control is again not functioning properly, and the hands-free phone function disconnected multiple times. the car was taken the car to a honda dealership approximately one week ago to have the air conditioning defect repairs completed. at that time they were unable to repair the trunk lid that has been falling down since i took possession of the vehicle in july 2014. the trunk lid falls at will.
Sunroof blew out with a loud noise, going 45 mph, sunny and dry road, daylight, no trucks anywhere near my car, no over passes in that area, bushes and trees on the side of the road, no people in sight and lucky for me the roof shade was closed. ma 10/5 *cn
The vehicle is able to be turned off with out putting in park. it is an automatic with push button start. when stopping at an arrived location you are able to push the button to turn off your vehicle with out putting it in park which then disengages the gears. if you happen to forget to put it in park and shut the car off in drive when you get out, the vehicle will roll away. any other push button start vehicle i have used would not allow you to shut the engine down until it was placed in park. roll away issues should and could be easily fixed.
I was driving down the highway on a tuesday morning around 6:45am and i heard a loud bang. pulled back my sun visor for sunroof and saw that my sunroof was shattered. closed visor just in case it wanted to break. then all off a sudden i heard a loud crash and my visor started flapping. road to work holding visor with one hand and driving with the other scared the visor was going to fly open. got to work and looked at sun roof and it was a big hole in my sunroof. 75% of my sunroof was missing or gone.
Going 65mph on the garden state parkway at the top of the driscol bridge when it felt like a 4x4 landed on ,the roof slider was closed at the time had the sunroof had exploded the a football size hole,
This is a nightmare. honda accord 2014.last night my windows and sunroof automatically opened; there have been other random electrical problems, see below. the opening of the windows occurred during a rain storm and my brand new honda is filled with water. the dash is blank and the phob key radio searching light is not blinking; so there was a short that caused this to happen. i will never buy a honda again. if you are having any of the problems listed below, pay attention to them because i kept thinking they were just random little issues but they were precursors to this very big issue. my car is totaled!!! pay attention to the small stuff and save your life and get rid of your car. my trunk randomly opened, parked and driving. my tire pressure light is always on, even after being reset and tires checked. i'd get in my car and find the sunroof partially opened over night. there is a weird rattle in my car in the front area, sounds like its in the dash board, but could never isolate it.
Since i bought the car i've had problems with the car staying on and running , when i come to turn it on , it shuts off. i have taken it to honda dealers and they don't see anything wrong with it.
While driving my new honda, i noticed an odor similar to a gas smell, sort of like a pilot on with no flame when the heat is on, the odor comes and goes. the odor is so bad at times that it upsets my stomach. i took the vehicle in to honda to have it checked in november of 2014, and, they were unable to duplicate the problem. after leaving the dealership, the odor arrived for a minimal amount of time and then dissipated. however, the problem does still occur. *js
I bought a brand new car honda accord 2014 last april 18,on august ,suddenly it didn't start,i called aaa to check battery but aaa said, its not the battery its more than that. my car was towed from ny to nj -route 22honda(where i bought the car),they did some repair-alternator replacement,then last nov.2,i have difficulty in starting the car again,finally after so many tries it started and i brought the car again to route 22 ,they did repair again-sensor replacement. yesterday nov 15,it didn't start at all even several attempts. i don't feel safe with this car especially winter is here and its not good for my job as a nurse. please help me. *tr
The trunk fell on my head and my grandmothers head. it did not hurt when it fell on my head but my grandmother was in pain when it fell on hers. i live on a sloped driveway, so any time i open my trunk it doesn't stay open and falls right down. it stayed open a few times, but would then randomly come falling down. i can't unload my groceries properly, i can't load my trunk up properly, it's very disturbing. also, i took it to two honda dealerships and they said 'it was fine' and 'nothing was wrong.' one even suggested i used a broom to keep the trunk open (which is absurd because it's a brand new 2014 honda accord. but when i spoke to the car repair shop about it, they said it was not normal and something was definitely wrong with the trunk. *tr
The air conditioning does not cool like it should. we have the same issue with our honda odyssey.
My car rolls down my driveway about 3 feet before it stops, my driveway is about 15 degrees, no rain, no snow, called the dealer and they said this was normal, i tend to think its very dangerous. this has happened many times in all weather conditions and the car was stationart and in park when this happened, i did my own test on this situation and it was very repeatable.
When vehicle is parked on a slight hill at 20 degree and up , the trunk is unable to stay open for me to load things in .. it has fell on my forehead multiple times hurting me.. i always have to hold up the trunk with one arm while loading things into the trunk. i've been to honda dealers and they keep telling me its the way it is. *tr
