For 2 yrs my 2008 honda accord would make a loud rumble at a cold startup. i took my car to a few mechanics including honda and unfortunately the problem could not be detected. my car has 91,300 miles consumes excessive amounts of oil to a point of monthly oil changes. i received a recall notice and scheduled an appointment at staten island honda service center on sat. nov. 15. i was told that honda would need to keep the vehicle for 2 days in order to fix the sticking piston recall and the air bag recall. i rescheduled for thur. nov 19th 7:45 am so that i could get a rental car. i dropped my car off weds. nov. 18th at 6:30 pm, so that i could go to work on time the next day and honda accommodated me. however, i was told by the manager that i would not be getting the recalls repaired because i do not qualify for the air bag recall even though when i look up my vin # on the honda website it clearly states my car qualifies. i was also told that i would only be getting an oil change which i would have to pay for, they would need to monitor my car for 1,000 miles to see how much oil i consume. i explained that i had already consumed 60% in less than 4 weeks. i feel my vehicle is unsafe to drive my car rumbles on acceleration and jerks hesitantly while the oil light goes on spontaneously. i feel i am entitled to the recall repairs with no hesitance from the honda service center.

Driver traveling speed limit on interstate 40 outside kingman, az. driver drifted off the road, over corrected, and struck a wooden post at the end of guardrail, causing car to leave the roadway. the air bags did not deploy, leading insurance investigators concerned. insurance adjustors felt the car could be fixed until a large hole was discovered in the transmission. concern to all was that air bags did not deploy.
With no impact or apparent reason the air bag light has come on. one honda dealer told me that no air bags would deploy if in an accident and another honda dealer told me that all the air bags would deploy in an accident. both advised against fixing as very expensive to determine reason for light. i drive a lot and do not want to put myself or my family in danger. please help

My airbag light remained on so i got a diagnostic test from pohanka honda. this occurred before the srs recall was issued. honda said i needed to replace my srs unit along with my gauge control module because they didn't communicate with one another. honda was going to complete the repair & labor for $1,200. i didn't have the money but was concerned for my family safety so i ordered the parts and got it repaired outside the dealership. here's the issue, i was seeking reimbursement for parts ($500) but honda manufacture only willing to reimburse me for just the srs unit ($200) and not the gauge control module ($300). i believe the recall should also cover the gauge control module since the code that was discovered by the honda technician revealed the gauge control module had to be replaced as well. since i followed guidance by pohanka honda, i'm without $300 because the recall only covered the srs unit. if pohanka honda would have completed the repair for $1,200, honda manufacture would have reimbursed me for $1,200. i believe i'm being penalized because the gauge control module isn't covered under the recall.
On the 3rd of september the door was closed, and all passenger side air bags deployed, my grandson was in his car seat, but suffered no harm. the car was parked.

Our 2008 honda accord srs indicator is on which alerts a potential problem with the airbag or seat belt tensioners per owner's manual. we took the car to honda dealer. it took them hours and charged us $157 but couldn't find the problem. they ended up suggesting either we replace srs unit $603+tax, and if problem still present then replace the gauge control module $555+tax. hereby we're reporting this issue and hope honda will recall the vehicle.
My srs warning light is on and will not go off. my research is showing that this could be my air bags have been disabled. my car has not been any type of accident and now i have an expense to get this repaired. ...updated 12/29/15 *bf updated 11/14/217*cn
Air bag malfunction light illuminated on dash , making airbag system useless. taken to dealer said the srs computer was bad , had computer replaced at a cost of 430.69. had to wait 4 days for parts because they were on backorder they must have a problem with these units, they should not go bad anyway, i think it is a defective part. i called honda customer assistance, they said basically it is out of the 3yr/360000 warranty and i am responsible for the safety equipment. i do not agree with this at all, seems to me they could care less about safety..updated 07/20/15 *bf

I purchased my 2008 accord ex 4 door 10 months ago. well 05/16/2015 i got out windows were down and closed my door and boom sounded like a gun shot my neighbors all came out the entire driver side curtain air bags deployed for no reason at all..now i am stuck with $7000 of damages ripped seat, air bags deployed hanging out and the dealership will not take no action saying its not a recall. this will be the last honda i purchase. it has 124k miles on it when this happened.
The air bag light on the dashboard came up around april 30th 2015 and in may 14th 2015 i took the vehicle to the honda service center in tallahassee. after a multiple points inspection the mechanic said that the "side curtain air bag" was non functional and replacement will cost $526.00. the vehicle has never been involved in any kind of accident or incident were the air bags could have been deployed. the mechanic was very careful not to say the air was defective. how a part that has never been used could be non functional? the honda people knows about this defect but want to pass the cost to the customer and when we can not afford that kind of sticker price they are putting our lives in risk.
At a full stop passenger exited the vehicle and shut the passenger front door and the side curtain airbags and front passenger seat side airbag deployed. the force of the airbags being deployed also damaged the back passenger door weather strip that creates a seal when doors close. headliner is damaged as well. seat belt on front passenger side has been deployed and is non functioning. *tr

Approximately at 9pm 2 april 2015, my son was getting ready to drive home from work in his 2008 honda accord when his drivers-side airbags deployed hitting him in the head. there was no accident or side collision involved. he was parked in the clarkson public library parking lot. the safety recall on the airbags are only up to 2007. after this, then the recall should be extended to cover the 2008 models. *tr

I was in a car accident on feb. 20,2015 a complete crash in the front side of my honda accord 2008 (hood,bumper,2 front finders, head light) it was a horrible accident. the car is a total loss and the air bags didn't deploy, so i hit the steering wheel with my chest and the seat belt locked on my shoulders so nothing stopped me from being injured. how honda one of the biggest popular cars don't care about the life of their customers. ....i felt really bad of that. i'm seeking real help from u guys to support and keep the united states safe from this inhumanity manufacturing defects which killed and injured many people. they don't care about any of our complaints on their products when i called their products help customers service they said it's an old car that is absolutely ridiculous because they care only about the sale numbers and staying in the market what ever happened to the riders of this car. ....i expect real action towards honda america i will keep following and steps up until i get all my rights. important note: my car checked with a team of engineer & technicians experienced only in the car safety&air bags and i do have all of this reports and pics. ....here what they said the front airbags sensors a&b sensed the crash and reported that to the control unit (car computer) and the airbag didn't deployed or exploded because there's a poor manufacturing or defect. u guys as a government agency responsible for our safety and safe production of this cars which kills and injuring the riders. thank you for paying attention and waiting for your decision and i documented all the reports for this accident ....updated 05/07/15 *bf *tr
My fiance got out of my car and closed the passenger side door. as soon as the door slammed the curtain i heard a loud bag and looked over to find that the airbags went off in my car. luckily no one was in the backseat or they would have been hit by the explosion. *tr
My airbag light stays on and the alarm doesn't go off when the seat belt isn't put on. i just began to have trouble starting the vehicle. now i can't start it and i've had to have it towed to my home.
Air bag light came on and stayed on. when local honda dealer checked it out was told that there was an internal failure of the srs control unit. was told it needed to be replaced. when asked what caused it, was told that if the car was not in an accident they didn't know. the car had not been in an accident. am planning to have it replaced but with the recalls of this part in older models, felt as if i needed to report this defect in case it turned out to be a problem in other models of this car. dealer was notified. *tr
