I purchased a 2008 honda accord exl automatic v6 in september 2007. on nov 14, 2008 the dealership informs me that the rear brakes are worn down to the rotors and need to be replaced at 29-30,000 miles. never have i replaced breaks this soon on a new vehicle. the mechanic informed me that several people with this same vehicle have experienced similar problems, and have replaced theirs with less miles. i am also informed that this is wear and tear which is not covered under warranty. after researching it on the web, there are several others with the same issue. the brake pads placed on these vehicle need to be investigated further. *tr

2008 honda accord rear brakes wearing pre maturely. the rear brake pads are wearing completely out around 20k to 30k miles. the inner brake pads seem to wear 80% more than the outer brake pads. could become a safety issue for some. *tr

Vehicle brakes wear extremely fast. 6 months into normal use, and the pads and rotors are of poor quality. new, and squealing after 1 month of use. pressure on pedal must be used more as the breaks wear. *tr

My 2008 honda accord sedan ex had rear brakes replaced at 14,921, the rear brakes started to produce a metal-to-metal sound without any other type of warning from the sensor. i didn't think the rear brake pads are worn completely so i took it to the nearest honda dealership. the service advisor told me the rear brake pads are completely out at 14,921 miles. from my own personal experience and others friends/relatives, no front wheel drive car has rear brakes replaced within 15,000 miles. the service advisor was surprise to see the rear brakes worn out at 14,921 miles as well. in june 2009, my car reached approximately 29,000 miles and the same metal-to-metal noise came back and again, my rear brakes are completely worn out and needs replacement. i've gone through 2 sets or rear brake pads before reaching 30,000 miles. *tr

No accident but the brakes were bad and needed to be replaced way to early. *tr

I would like to suggest that nhtsa investigate the braking system on the 2008 honda accord and other models with the same braking system. brakes seem to be experiencing premature wear and rotors are becoming warped at 30,000 miles or much sooner. hundreds of other 2008 honda accord owners have complained of the same problem on car related forums. i realize that brakes are typically a wear and tear thing, but the speed at which these brakes wear seems excessive. *tr

Rear brakes on 2008 honda accord with 37,000 miles has premature wear. premature failure of brakes cause safety concerns. *tr
