The srs light of my car come on and goes off all the time. sometimes when i am driving, suddenly will turn on for a while. i usually pull over and turn off the engineer and turn it on back and wait a few. this happens constantly, and i have read the manual, this has to do with the front air bags, and according to the manual book can be 'an alert to a potential airbags, side curtain airbags, front seat belt tensioners or the driver's seat position sensor and the front passenger's weight sensors' we have check it all the time and it just goes on all the time as it comes off all the time. i have gotten to a point that concerns me a lot.

I cannot look up my vin on your main page. i keep getting the message "cannot contact recaptcha", both on my mac and iphone

How do i know if my airbags need to be replaced. i want to give this car to my teenage daughter. please help. *js

Airbag warning light comes on randomly, whether car is hot or cold. reading many other similar complaints, it seems statistically improbable that so many airbag problems would occur without existence of systemic problem similar to my 2005 accord, which was recalled. please enforce similar safety concern in these series that use same airbag parts. until then, honda will not investigate without costly diagnosis fee and ambiguous expensive repair recommendations. hope it doesn't randomly punch me in the face while i'm doing 70 on i75!

Tl* the contact owns a 2004 honda accord. the contact stated that the air bag warning indicator illuminated intermittently. the contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic where it was discovered that there was an open circuit in the passenger inflator. the mechanic linked the failure to a possible recall based on a service bulletin the mechanic discovered. the manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that the vehicle was included in nhtsa campaign number: 14v700000 (air bags). no further assistance was offered. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was unknown.

My 2004 honda pilot had a recall for something not working properly in the airbag system. since receiving the recall notification about the 2004 honda pilot's airbag, the airbag warning light in my 2004 honda accord lit up on august 28, 2019 and has stayed lit since the first time it lit up. my 2004 honda pilot did not have its airbag warning light come on and it did have a defect. i asked the dealership about an airbag system recall on the 2004 honda accords. they said it did not have one and would not check why my 2004 honda accord airbag warning light has lit up without me paying a $99 fee. these cars were made during the same time period. these models have both had previous problems with the airbag or part of its system. i do not want to die from a faulty part honda put into my vehicle because the recall has not been processed for that vehicle yet. i am telling you this in writing so my family has grounds to sue if i am hurt by a part you know is faulty and have not recalled it in a timely manner as you know you need to do. these vehicles were made in the same time frame. you know you use the same basic parts from the same manufactures. announce the airbag system recall for the 2004 honda accords so i can get my vehicle fixed and not worry about driving around a potential time bomb.

Airbag is damaged

my car got into a minor accident a neighborhood. the airbag on the passenger seat came out. everyone including the police thought it was odd because there wasn't anyone sitting on the passenger seat. the driver's side on the other hand, the airbag did not come out. and the airbag light is off even though the passenger airbag came off. i have a question as to why that is? also my seat belt became too tight and does not allow me room to moves.

Intermittent to constant air bag fault light. this is the exact same thing as my 2006, 2005, and 2004 honda accords. 2004 accord air bag light came on intermittently in april 2019. seems to happen at startup. stays on now more often than not.

Takata air bag recall: i have called local ganley honda in north olmsted, ohio three times, leaving messages twice, asking if the air bag needs to be replaced again. i left voice mail when the service department was busy. no one has called back.

While driving on 787 in albany n.y. my 2004 honda accord locked up in the front end and seemed to slam back into drive i had all of my children and my husband in the car at the time of the incident we all were jerked forward due to the sudden lock up we were able to get it home and realized that transmission fluid was pouring out we inspected ourselves and took the transmission pan off to find what appeared to be thick metal chunks/gears inside my transmission pan and now will not hold fluid. luckily no one was hurt but this could have potentially been deadly.

Takata recall i have been to several dealerships and they refuse to replace my driver side and passenger side airbags yet i continuously get letters in the mail notifying me that if my air bag goes off i could die. i guess they figure it's cheaper to pay off the victims family than actually fix the problem.

Tl* takata recall. the contact owns a 2004 honda accord. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 15v320000 (air bags); however, the parts to do the repair were not available. the dealer (honda of spring, 17350 north fwy, houston, tx 77090, 832-601-4000) was contacted and confirmed that the parts were unavailable for the recall repair. the manufacturer was notified and confirmed that the recall parts were not available and provided a loaner vehicle. the contact had not experienced a failure. parts distribution disconnect. *tt consumer stated honda passenger side but not driver side. updated 11/19/18*jb

Tl* the contact owns a 2004 honda accord. while driving 35 mph, the contact heard an abnormal noise and the passenger side air bag deployed inadvertently. the air bag warning indicator illuminated. there were no injuries. the vehicle was not taken to a dealer to be diagnosed or repaired. the contact left a voice mail for the manufacturer and was awaiting a call back. the failure mileage was approximately 140,000.

Takata recall air bags should be reinstalled in all vehicles of the year that was being recalled. i have a 2004 honda accord sedan and i find it applauding that responsibility isn't being accepted 100%. if one air bag is defected then they all should and could be, with that being said i urge them to honor the faulty equipment and fix it instead of 'playing with people's lives' and wait i to see if the worse happens when the air bags are supposed to be a safety item in case of a accident in which they will release.

Takata recall. on 5/1/2018 around 5:30pm i was driving approximately 25 mph on busy city street not making any turns. no one else was in the vehicle other than me, the driver. i ran over a small bump and the passenger-side curtain and seat airbags deployed. there was no contact/collision against the vehicle.

Aer bag

Airbag light is on meaning the airbag is off. drivers side seatbelt does not operate properly

My vehicle does not have a recall but does have the airbag passenger light on.

I purchased a honda accord 2004 v6, with 44,954 miles, certified at carson honda, in carson california on feb.9, 2006. this is my first car purchase from a dealership.i sometimes us to see the airbag light on and the last time i saw i on was about 2 weeks ago. i did call american honda in torrance,ca. i had concern re. the takata airbag recall. they asked me the mileage of my car i told the rep. ,it had about 170,000, he thought it was funny, because the car had so many miles. i did tell them that i had seen the airbag icon on and i had trouble with the transmission which had to be replaced, they said there are no recalls and end of call. where can one see old recalls on car? i did receive a card called" important legal notice for owners of vehicles with takata airbag inflators". chapter 11 case. 17-11375(bls) my car is not in the recall am and am very concerned about the safety of passengers and myself. american honda or carson honda are not helping me with my concerns. i feel that vehicles with this takata airbag should be replaced. is is very scary hat people have died instead of been saved.

Takata recall- my car is not recognizing my airbags in this car. if there was an accident, they wouldn't work.

My accord recently turned on the airbag light and was taken to the honda dealership for inspection. at the honda dealership it was determined by a honda technician the vehicle has a code for the driver's airbag inflator and also possible bad clock spring. the honda advisor referred me to honda customer support since the vehicle had never been in an accident. i called honda customer service and they refused to assume responsibility for such an important safety component.

Takata recall. there is no recall on this model, according to your website. however, an intermittent "side airbag" warning appears most trips, then disappears for a while. the local honda dealer checked and said there are no recalls for side airbags; therefor there will be a repair charge for analysis and'/or repair. when the warning does come on it typically will start when the key is turned to "start" and stays on for some time, but may go off before the trip is ended.

Tl* the contact owns a 2004 honda accord. while driving at any speed, the air bag warning indicator illuminated and remained lit. the vehicle was not taken to the dealer. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure recurred and the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was not provided.

Takata recall: my 2004 honda accord is in a recall group but when i type in the vin, it shows that it is not subject to recall. is this because the airbag has desiccant or is it not included because of a lack of incidents where the air bag exploded with excessive force? my vin is [xxx]. I've been noticing my airbag light continued to come on and off. i received this letter in the mail concerning the airbags. i just want to feel safe in my car. the car was stationary then i begin to move; the airbag comes on constantly.

Takata recall

Tl* the contact owned a 2004 honda accord. while driving at an unknown speed, a bmw crashed into the rear of the contact's vehicle. the vehicle was towed and deemed a total loss. the air bags did not deploy. the contact sustained injuries to the neck, back, and leg, which did not require medical attention. a police report was field. the local dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. the failure mileage was approximately 200,000.

I am noticing airbag symbol popping up often, not sure whether it is problem with airbag or computer part faulty that makes the airbag to not function. either way it is a safety concern and should be addressed by the manufacturer.

A light comes on saying passenger air bag off. is this not a safety problem. i am a senior citizen.

According to this website as well as all other sources, my 2004 honda accord coupe should have a takata airbag, but i have not received a recall notice, and this site does not show my car are being recalled. why is my car not recalled? i am very concerned about my family's safety when drive my car.

Takata recall. our son was involved in an accident with an 18-wheeler on an interstate highway as a front-seat passenger in our 2004 accord last week and his airbag did not deploy but the driver-side bag did deploy and caused harm to the driver who wound up having his lip sewn back together.

Takata recall

Takata recall. why was my 2004 honda accord never included in one of the three recalls (15v320000, 14v700000, 15v370000) affecting the 2004 honda accord? i previously asked honda but they would not respond. what is the technical explanation why my accord was not included in these recalls.? i purchased the car new and have not been notified of any recalls. is the car safe to drive?

Making loud knocking noise around my stirring wheel

I just tried to trade in my vehicle today and the dealer declined it due to a recall notice. i in fact had all the airbags replaced in september 2016 due to a recall notice and never even knew anything about this 2004 recall! thanks honda!!! do the new airbags not take precedence over this recall? can you please take this off of the nhtsa website so i can sell my car?

Takata recall : warning light on dashboard indicates the side airbags are off

Takata recall on july 19, 2016 my wife was returning from a luncheon about 2pm on hwy 111 on a sunny, dry afternoon following traffic within speed limits when to the best of her recollection the air big exploded causing physical damage to my wife. she lost control of the vehicle and ran into another vehicle' this accident resulted in the total loss of the accord. about six or eight weeks ago i took the accord in to the honda dealer in cathedral city and requested that the air bag be inspected as a was aware of a recall on this vehicle in may 2016. i was told that the air bag was safe and nothing was done on the car. i have reason to believe that the recall work on this air bag (replace parts) should have been done by the dealer and this accident would not have occurred.

Takata recall my local paper stated that you have declared all honda air bags to be unsafe, particularly those for 2004 honda accords located in the high heat and humidity associated with florida. i have contacted honda on two separate occasions and have been told that my car is "completely safe". i don't feel safe and would like to know what nhtsa is doing about this situation. thanks

Nothing

Takata recall: i had an accident in which my honda accord hit a tree at about 40 mph after sliding off of the highway due to ice and the driver side air bags did not deploy! the hood was blown off and there was engine damage, but the air bags did not deploy. the air bags were recently replaced by brown's honda in arlington due to the "takata recall". they clearly either didn't replace them or didn't install them correctly.
