Takata recall. i am trying to find out if i have takata air bags in my 2004 honda accord and why it has not been recalled. i wrote american honda motor co., automobile customer service in torrance, ca and all they would tell me in a phone call is my 2004 honda accord is not included in the recall and to contact the nhtsa for information as to why my 2004 honda accord is not in the recall. does my vehicle have takata air bags? if it does why is my 2004 honda accord not included in the takata air bag recall? honda said i should take my vehicle to an authorized honda dealer and pay to have it inspected if i want to know what kind of air bags are in my vehicle. i see that 2004 honda accords are included in the list of affected vehicles for the takata air bag recall - why have i not been notified of the recall? i bought the car new and have been the sole owner. is my 2004 honda accord safe to drive?

I was in a parking garage and pulling into a parking spot. i was within 2 feet of the concrete wall and foot over break when my car accelerated with enough force to deploy the airbag and push the frame into the radiator. it happened so fast, i tried to brake but it was over within seconds. i could not have been going more than 2mph or less as i did not even have foot on gas.

Airbag light on without any accident. i report to dealer they said is my car identification numb not include.

Takata recall ,i got in contact with honda corp about recall on airbags and honda told me that my vin number was not on the recall ,i told them that my air bag light was on and they told me to go have it fixed at my expense ,so i did not not take my car in for the recall and like a month after i contacted them ,my wife was hit in the front end of car and the passenger side air bag deployed and the accident was not not even a hard compact accident ,i'm glad no one was in the passenger side of the car in the accident ,its very sad to see see a company like honda corp ,not take responsibility for there actions and put peoples life in danger

Though 2004 honda accords are being recalled due to deadly airbag malfunctions, and though honda was initially adding cars to the recall list by customer request, honda has refused to add my 2004 honda accord to the vehicle recall list and replace its airbags. a second 2004 honda accord, that i purchased the same year from the same dealership and later sold, is on the recall list, which adds to my valid concerns that honda's recall list is not complete or accurate, especially considering honda has continued to add new vin numbers to the recall list over the past year. although i called honda's recall hotline, they failed to show any concern for my personal safety and refused to replace my airbags. honda has caused many senseless deaths by refusing to adequately and promptly address the airbags defects in its cars, and it is unfathomable to me that they would continue on their course of deadly apathy.

I received a recall notice stating that the air bags needed to be replaced due to potential danger or death. i followed all honda's directions to the letter and was given an appointment time and place for the work. when i showed up at the dealership, ourisman honda bethesda md for the work to be done the dealer said honda had set up a website, handed out appointments and promised customers that the work would take a half an hour, without their knowledge. that they had not agreed to participate in honda's scheme and that i had no appointment and that they did not have the parts to do the work. is this good service? is this what customers are to expect? how can such incompetence rebuild customer trust? is nhtsa aware of this situation?

Today's date: tuesday, july 28, 2015. takata air bag recall: just rec'd a recall notice from honda dating july 2015; i am being given conflicting information regarding the most recent consolidated recall for honda. according to the above letter rec'd both the driver {ordered to be replaced a 2nd time even if already replaced = june 6, 2015} and the passenger side airbag. made appointment with brewster honda for july 7th to have both the driver side and the passenger side airbag replaced}. brewster honda only replaced the passenger and not the driver per the newest july 2015 notice stating that this was a 'consolidated' recall and that both airbags needed replacement even if the driver's side was already replaced {which it was on june 6th). brewster honda said they would call me when it arrives ~ that was on july 7th and follow up 2 weeks later. i called today to find out status and i am now being told my car's recall is closed. according to the congressional june 6th meeting driver's airbags would very well need to be replaced 2xs ~ honda is showing my car's recall as 'closed' yet they did not replace the driver side airbag the 2nd time as instructed; i do not feel safe! help!!!!!!! i would appreciate a phone call and not an email please.

The vin number in questions has 2 recalls and we tried going to sloane honda dealership 9903 bustleton ave, philadelphia, pa 19115-2145 and the refused to complete the recall with always an excuse. went times and had an appointment each time specifically for the recall and they finding some excuse. first they said that we are not the original owner(s) and my name did not appear on their system as the correct name for the vehicle even though we purchased it brand new from the same dealership back in 2004. the second time the stated that they finished the recall, however, the airbag light is still on and when i checked online as well as your website it is still listed as incomplete. the third and final time spoke to [xxx] (service manager) and made an appointment and he wouldn't even talk to me or honor the appointment. then called honda directly at 888-234-2138 for recall complaint and what to do about it and could never get anyone. always busy or unavailable to take phone calls. tried finding an email as contact info for honda directly and there wasn't one. i do not know what else to do. the vehicle in question has a recall from the manufacturer and the dealership we originally bought it from refuses to fix the issue with always some sort of an excuse or lie to us stating that it was completed. the recall as of now is still incomplete. please advise further. sincerely, concerned vehicle owner information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

Air bags replaced, after picking up car from honda dealer; car will not start. appears something is sucking all the juice so starter does not have enough power to start. car worked great before (besides the kill people at low speeds thing), handed over to honda, now wont start. mind you this car was actually recalled in 2014 but only just now received new bags. very un-pleased with the way honda handled this very scary situation.

I was driving at a slower speed in a parking lot at wal-mart, and suddenly the side airbag curtains and passenger seat airbag were deployed. at this time there is no recall for this 2004 honda accord model for my vin.

My vehicle is part of the takata airbag recall. i heard on the news this morning that it may take 2-5 years to complete this recall. in the meantime would it be safer to disconnect the airbag until it can be replaced? it seems to me that this would be the most logical solution since, even in a minor fender bender the airbag could possibly deploy and cause serious injury.

I been seeing the airbag come on and off while at a standstill and while the vehicle is in motion, yesterday while on the highway i unbuckled my seatbeat and the light came on and stayed on even after i rebuckled the belt i heard on the news about a issue with these type of cars having airbag issue

My daughter was driving my 2004 honda accord and was traveling at about 30 mph. she had my 12 yr old in the passenger seat and got too close to the edge of a road that didn't have a shoulder. it pulled the tires off and she overcompensated swerving back onto the road. there was another car coming so she swerved back towards the ditch and hit a power pole head on. the airbag on drivers side deployed but slowly and with very little force at all. my daughter described it as falling out and barely inflating. however, the other daughter's airbag shot out hard and fast and caused her to break a bone in her rt dominant hand. she had to have surgery on that knuckle/finger using three pins. they had to eventually go back and do surgery to remove them since they buried under the skin. i was completely unaware that there was a recall on the airbags since i wasn't the original owner of the car.

I noticed that the srs light was intermittently illuminating on the dashboard of my 2004 honda accord. it turns out that the driver's side seat belt buckle switch is defective, according to the dealer. honda states in their seat belt limited warranty: time period: this warranty continues for the useful life of the vehicle warranty coverage: honda will repair or replace, at its option, any honda seat belt component that fails to function properly during normal use. this includes all parts and labor charges. my honda dealer (fairfax honda 703-934-8500) informed me that this wasn't under warranty because the component needing repair was an electrical component. however, the honda warranty clearly states any honda seat belt component, and does not differentiate between electrical and mechanical components. furthermore, because of this defective component, the air bag system will fail to deploy properly in an accident. i feel that since honda has instituted a lifetime warranty on any seat belt component failure, they should have to repair this defect without any charge to me. i would appreciate nhtsa looking into this matter.

Tl* takata recall. the contact owns a 2004 honda accord. the contact received notification that the vehicle was included in the takata recall. the vehicle was repaired. afterwards, the air bag warning indicator illuminated. the contact called walker jones honda (2700 memorial drive, waycross, ga 31503; 912-283-4250) and was informed that the warning indicator may have a faulty light bulb. the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred intermittently. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the nhtsa campaign number was not provided. the approximate failure mileage was 225,000.

Honda accord was at a complete stop when rear ended by another vehicle. the air bag sensor did come on but the air bag did not deploy. the air bag sensor remains on after impact. *tr

I've been trying to get a local honda dealership to repair the recalled part since march 2015. i've been repeatedly told that no parts are available and will not be available any time in the foreseeable future. every time i drive the car i worry that i will die due to the defective part which honda refuses to send to any of my local dealerships.

Takata recall of air bags. how can i know if my car is in danger of killing me or my precious granddaughters if my car is in an accident and the air bags deploy? please advise on any new developments. i have had the airbags replaced on a recall already, but have heard that there is a problem with the replacements.

I received a safety recall notice in march 2015. i immediately called honda of santa cruz and made an appointment. i went to the appointment and was then told that the honda dealership was out of parts and unable to address my airbags at that time. it is now the middle of june and nothing has been taken care of. i am worried for my life and my ten year old son's. i am fearful to drive my car and constantly anxious about this safety recall. i am very disappointed with the way that this recall was dealt with.. please let me know how this is going to be solved.

On saturday, november 15, 2014, at around 8:20 am, i was driving northbound on 880. traffic was very light and the road is very smooth in that area because it was repaved in the last year. my speed was 65 mph. i was driving in the rightmost lane because i was close to my destination and because flow of traffic is somewhat higher than 65mph in the other lanes. without warning and without impact from any other vehicles or from anything on the road, the passenger side airbag activated. although my ears were ringing, i was able to take the next exit, hegenberger rd, which was about 1/2 mile from when the airbag exploded. there were no warning lights or other indications of problems before the airbag activated. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2004 honda accord. the contact stated the driver fell asleep behind the wheel and lost control of the vehicle. as a result, the contact crashed into a bus tunnel and the air bags failed to deploy. a police report was filed. the contact sustained neck and back injuries that required medical attention. the vehicle was towed from the scene. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was unknown.

My vehicle shows the drivers side airbag is not working. this occurs every time i start my car.

On 10/27/14 i went to http://www.honda.com/recalls and discovered a safety recall on the front airbags of my 2004 honda accord. on 10/28/14 i called jim mcnatt honda of denton (4050 interstate 35 frontage rd, denton, tx 76210) at (888) 605-6932. they said the parts were back ordered but they would call and let me know when they were available. on 11/22/14 jim mcnatt replaced my driver side airbag but they told me the passenger side was still on back order. they said they would call me when it came in. on 2/6/15 i received the official safety recall notice in the mail and on 2/7/15 i received a voicemail from american honda regarding the recall. on 2/6/15 i called jim mcnatt advising them of the notice i received and asked if the passenger airbag part, the one requested on 10/28/14, was available. i expressed my concerns that it?s been almost three months and no-one from jim mcnatt has contacted me regarding the back ordered part. the service adviser told me he scheduled an appointment for me on 2/25/15 to replace the passenger side airbag. this would at a minimum give him a reminder to call me before 2/25/15 if the part was still not available. as of 3/22/15 i still have not heard back from jim mcnatt and my passenger side airbag is still not repaired. the recall notice stated that if american honda or the dealer has failed to repair the defect within 60 days from the time i first contacted the dealership (10/28/14) i may submit a complaint to the nhtsa (safecar.gov). american honda/the dealership has failed to repair my safety defect within a reasonable amount of time and has failed at following through with what they said they were going to do. *tr

I took vehicle in for air bag recall with takata part -- honda fixed driver side but now says that the passenger side airbag for my vehicle will not be available until march 2015 -- how can they allow the seriousness of such a defect go on for so long while putting me and any passenger in my auto in potential danger including death. i live in miami fl which falls in the most high risk hot/humid areas of the country! *tr
