Consumer had just gotten out of vehicle and into house when vehicle caught on fire. fire started under dashboard. fire department insisted fire coming from wiring harness. manufacturer sent a fire marshal for honda who ruled it to be arson.*ak *slc

Car would not start and had to be towed 2x's within one week to repair the ignition immobilizer. car has been in the dealer's garage for 22 days and counting. the car was purchased new. *ak

1st time dealer stated bad gas for car jerking when trying to accelerate and engine check light was on - fixed problem. 2nd time (next day) car repeated same problem - another dealer stated bad gas and loose wire - fixed problem 3rd time same dealer stated needed new top dead center sensor. sensor had malfunctioned. i know too many people who had the same problem and continue to even after getting fixed repeatedly. i am scared to drive my new car - not even a year old. *ak

Engine check light went on twice. took vehicle to dealer, and they said fuel filler: cap was not on properly. then, it was electrical system causing engine light to come on. a week later, srs light came on, indicating something wrong with airbag and seatbelts. *ak

Tl*the contact owns a 2000 honda accord. the contact stated that the ignition key could be removed from the ignition switch at any selected gear. there was a recall related to the defect under nhtsa campaign id number 05v025000 (electrical system:ignition:switch). the vehicle was taken to the dealer and repaired under the recall; however, the failure recurred after the repair. the vehicle had not been repaired. the failure mileage was approximately 1,000. the vin was unavailable.

I can switch my ignition off and remove the key without putting the shift lever in the "park" position. *tr

The entire electrical system is affected by the use of the blinkers when the car is cold. the engine will not start until the fourth attempt at least once monthly.

At first right light blewout; then, left side light went out. consumer felt unsafe because there was a chance of being rear ended. *ak consumer while traveling on highway a motorist told him that consumer had no brake lights this was the second time in one year due to horn shortening out, first the left brake light and then the right one, also shifter will not come out of park unless the emergency release is used.*jb

Vehicle experiencing problem with jumping upon starting and turning engine off intermittently. also, problem with engine turning over after ignition switch been turned on three or more tims. vehicle been in dealer shop on several occasions, and informed consumer that nothing could be found. feel free to provide any further details on this matter. *ak

My honda accord ex 6 cyl has a problem but was not included in nhtsa recall 04v256000. the dashboard lights go on and off at night, exactly as described. if i play with the dimmer control i can get the dashboard lights to go on and off.*ak
