Problems with 2014 Ford Focus FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

On average, the 2014 Ford Focus starts to “feel” problems with the FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM and its various aspects after 60 220 miles.

Recently reported FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM problems on 2014 Ford Focus

Car was taken to ford dealership to have the recalls done for the transmission, fuel tank evap and door latch. ford completed the recalls for the fuel system and door latch at this poticular time the transmission was not fixed.(did not pass fords shutter test). at this time the check engine light was on because of the transmission, according to the ford dealership. i picked the car up amd drove with my son the vehicle did not drive right because transmission issues. i contacted the dealership again after contacting ford motor company about my concern with the drivability of the car. i made an appointment but had to wait approximately three weeks because they were replacing the floor in their shop. the check engine light remained on the entire time until the appointment. after dropping he car off and ford diagnosing the problem, i received a call saying ford motor is now covering the transmission and they will have to wait for parts to finish it. at this time they also informed me that the check engine light is now on because of the purge valve. i had barely driven the car since the last visit when the recalls were taken care of?? they stated that the purge valve would not be covered because the recall had been completed on the fuel tank. reluctantly i told them to replace at my cost. the dealership called to say the vehicle was complete. i picked it up that evening and made it 7 miles away from the dealer and the check engine light came on once again. i called the dealer immediatley to let them know and they could not get me in right away. my son and i took it for a ride the following day and approximaty 40 miles the car lost power and could not go above 40mph on the interstate. i called to make another appointment when they diagnosed this time both catylitic convertors are bad and will cost $2100 to repair. what caused these to go bad this was not an issue until reca

We had a little over a quarter tank of fuel. we going shopping so we topped off the fuel tank this morning. after we drove approximately 80 miles, it started snowing heavily. i noticed something with the car. i had no acceleration like the engine died. regained power for a few minutes until the engine died. i was lucky enough to park on the side of the road. tried restarting the engine several times. after a half hour, i tried again only for the engine to sputter to and idle. it idled for 3 or 4 secondsand died again. after another half hour i tried again. i started and ran about ten minutes. i had the car towed home in fear of stalling out again.

I was driving along the highway 80 in the left hand lane , ready to pass a semi truck when the car lost all power from the engine a light came on and it read engine default service now ok , as all power was shut down . i was then forced to go to the emergency lane . i was almost ran over by two semi trucks coming from the right side of highway 80. i had it serviced at phil long ford chappel hills in colorado springs and they wanted $4500 to fix it .

Tcm replaced 66,550, clutch pack replaced 68,148, and complete communication failure between the throttle and transmission, tonight at 82,000 miles, i fully opened the throttle pedal down, and transmission failed to give me any acceleration for 3-5 seconds.this almost caused a bad situation tonight. radiator replaced at 77,600, coolant still drops to the min- line. no reasoning on where the coolant is going.

I was setting at a red light and when it turn green i stop on the gas a little to start going but it hesitating and the would not go . it just kept hesitating and car behind me lade on the horn. it would go a little bit and stop again. it keep doing that at every light i stop at.

Vehicle was in motion when the 'stop safely now' alert came on and disabled power to the car. i was able to stop the vehicle safely but unfortunately, it didn't turn on again so it had to be towed to my house. after trying multiple times with no luck, i had it towed to the ford dealer for inspection and repairs. i know this defect is known by ford since some recalls have been issued but to try to repair the concern. my car's 'electric unique component' 8 year warranty is still valid but ford is trying to charge me for the repairs. the vehicles 12v battery died due to the problem but they made me purchase a new one for $180. i believe i shouldn't have been charged since the issue was caused by the cars defect. the car has been at the dealer for 2 weeks with no resolution. i just feel i wanted to make a complaint to maybe get assistance with ford acknowledging that the issue should be covered under the warranty. thank you for your time and attention.

Everytime i pump gas in my car and i turn it back on , it wants to die immediately. one time it took about 5 tries before it actually worked. i had just gotten the recall done for the fuel tank where it was reprogrammed so it can detect an issue with the canister purge valve. and now my engine hesitates to start.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 ford focus. the contact stated that the fuel pump and regulator failed and caused the vehicle to stall while driving. also, the check engine warning indicator illuminated. the vehicle was taken to tom denchel ford hermiston sales & leasing (555 s hwy 395, hermiston, or 97838, (855) 878-9342) where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump and regulator needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired and was still at the dealer. the contact stated that the clutch was replaced four times. the contact called the manufacturer and was informed that the vin was not included in a recall. the failure mileage was approximately 91,000. the vin was invalid.

Vehicle stalls and has hard starts, check engine light, an 'inaccurate or erratic' fuel gauge, and loss of power. recall was to reprogram the ecm but did not resolve issue. ford denying to perform the other part of the recall to replace the cpv, gas tank, charcoal canister, and fuel delivery module.

Check engine light came on yesterday out of nowhere. car started jerking bad as i took off. slowly but getting worse til i had to stop. then didn't wanna crank back up. strange. so we hear a loud ticking noise .. this is with keys out of the car ignition.... i put keys in , still nothing. eventually it crank but no reverse. god help me!!!!!!!!!!!

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 ford focus. the contact stated that the engine fault warning indicator illuminated. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 18v735000 (fuel system, gasoline); however, the parts for the recall remedy were not available. the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time to repair the vehicle. harold zeigler ford (11979 fulton st e, lowell, mi 49331, (800) 646-4660) was contacted and stated that the next available appointment was october 28, 2019. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the failure mileage was unknown. vin tool confirms parts not available.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 ford focus. while adding fuel to the vehicle, it would not start right away. the vehicle also felt as if it would stall when having to slow down in traffic. malloy ford of charlottesville (2070 seminole trail, charlottesville, va 22901, (434) 977-7960) diagnosed that the canister purge valve failed. the dealer stated that the vehicle was not included in a recall for the canister purge valve. the manufacturer stated the same as the dealer and opened a case to qualify for reimbursement if the vehicle were included in a future recall. the failure mileage was 80,000.

Car stalls at will, gas gauge & miles to empty always wrong, low fuel indicator light never comes on and has huge problem w/ acceleration. it often shakes violently when i hit gas pedal, also takes forever to get up to speed. if it's not shaking violently then it just stalls, literally dies, will not restart. forget fuel gauge. not only is it always wrong, it changes at will. i go up or down a hill, gauge & miles to empty changes. low fuel indicator never lights up so who knows how much gas i have. last two times it stalled on highway at 65mph. engine just cut out, died & would not restart. has been to dealership 3 times in 3 weeks for same issues. first incident, kindle ford in cape may court house, nj had it 9 days over labor day holiday. finally advised repairs eligible under recall however waiting for parts, specifically fuel tank, which according to fedex was in transit. 'lucky for me' he said, finally had loaner available. i'm walking to get loaner when suddenly tech yells over that my car is done! what? he just said tank was in transit! reluctantly took my car only to have it die again. had it towed to kindle again and he said car started right up for him after he put gas in it. he implied i ran out of gas because gauge was pinned on empty. i had put gas in it that morning. gauge indicates it was low but it was not pinned on empty (see photo). and if that was the case, warning light never came on (see photo). now they are saying they can't fix it until they replicate problems for themselves. as if i was lying! car doesn't do it when they drive it so what do i do? i'm afraid to drive my own car but i have to go to work, etc. i just hope my son & i aren't killed when car unexpectedly stalls again while we are on the highway.

The excessive vacuum may result in an engine stall while driving, without warning and without the ability to restart. the canister purge valve fails as in recall 18v735000, but it does cover this vin.

The car has been stalling, jerking, jumping and skipping every time i accelerate. i have taken the car to the dealers more than 4 or 5 times since i bought it in 2014! they told me those cars will do that. wrong! i have all the paperwork of how many times i have taking it for the same thing. the car continues to shudders at slow speeds, and jerks into gear. when backing up on incline street/driveway, rolls back. when accelerating in a highway is dangerous as the car does not respond and making it a safety hazard when shifting lanes, entering on intersections or highway. the problem continues after taking if to the dealer many times.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 ford focus. the contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled without warning. the contact was then informed by (rivertown ford 1680 whittlesey rd, columbus, ga 31904) that the vehicle was included in nhtsa campaign number: 18v735000 (fuel system, gasoline). it was recommended that a diagnostic test be performed on the purge valve. the result was that the purge valve was intact so the software update would be performed. the software update was performed however, the failure recurred. the contact stated that the battery, idle sensor, throttle body control module and purge valve was previously replaced. the manufacturer was not contacted nor informed of the failure. the failure mileage was unknown.

The ford focus i own was manufactured in 2014 with a known transmission problem. the manufacture alongside their franchises know about this issue yet they still refuse to repair it.

Takara recall the car can run for a few minutes give or take 30 minutes then just shuts off. it takes a few minutes just to turn it back on if lucky or have to call and have it towed.

There are two open recalls related to the fuel system of my vehicle. i have been contacting my ford dealership since the winter of 2018 about having the recall work done. they have not gotten back to me and have only stated that they will when there is a fix available. as of this week, 08/14/19, my check engine light is on. took to an auto parts store to have them run the code. two codes came back and both are related to the fuel system. the recalls in question indicate that the vehicle can stop running while driving, and this increases the likelihood of an a collision. the car is now not running at all. it is unacceptable that ford has taken close to a year to fix their errors which have caused these recalls, especially when safety is a concern.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 ford focus. on several occasions, while stopped at a traffic light, the accelerator pedal was depressed and the vehicle failed to respond. on another occasion, while attempting to exit from a parking lot the vehicle failed to start. roadside assistance was contacted and was able to provide a jump start. the vehicle was taken to pacifico ford (located at 6701 essington avenue, philadelphia, pa 19153, (877) 349-3923) where it was diagnosed that the fuel tank needed to be replaced. the transmission control module and transmission clutch needed to also be repaired. the fuel tank and transmission control module were replaced; twice however, the failure recurred. the contact was also informed that it would cost $947 to replace the transmission clutch. the repair was not performed. the manufacturer was informed of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 60,000.

I had a recall on this vehicle prior to this complaint i'm filing now . the recall was fuel deformation inspection, ford installed a fuel vapour sep the recall number is 18s32. now this problem was originally fixed 3/18/19 . it is 8/13/19 that i am back at the same location for the same exact problem which includes low fuel pressure , the gas isn't getting to the engine (censor) and the car stops out of no where while driving on a highway .

Prior to, the car would shudder, almost rock back and forth at slow speeds either in the parking garage, parking lots, at home. recently the car had a rough time turning over after filling up at a gas station. the car shuddered and seemed to have a hard time moving. about a mile down the road the check engine light came on. this had happened previously, however, when the code was checked it went away (p144a). with what i was currently experiencing i took it to a shop and was advised that the purge valve had to be replaced.

Complaints: power train (currently-5th clutch asy having serviced), body: locks and hatch donot work most of the time..passenger door knob just fell off in passenger hand, excessive fuel consumption, car jerks and stalls, false digital readings on dash. some lights stay on continuously. had to have to tire pressure monitoring sensor replaced 2 yrs of having the vehicle.all supporting documents available upon request. all documents have vin and my name on them, so cant upload them. multiple dates of service, but am listing the last dos. my vehicle has been at the ford dealership for 3 wks so far. awaiting list for a loaner car is 3 wks out. i am without transportation still. currant dos is an approximate date, as it is still with the ford mechanic. i bought this vehicle bc i inherited raising 2 grandchildren, and needed a economical and reliable vehicle to transport them to and from dr appts, school, preschool ect, but this vehicle is anything but reliable. it's been an expensive nightmare. my extended warrant already paid for this fix last time, and now i've been told that my policy maximum may have been reached, thus making me responsible for all balances due from this repair. i have been unable to work bc of unreliable transportation, and do not have the monies to pay for this repair. this design flaw in the dual clutch transmission, there is no permanent fix. the problem recurs continuously. if my warrany policy doesnt pay for these and future repairs, nd ford isn't paying them, i will either have to have the bank repossess the vehicle, possibly sued by ford for non payment. i have been seriously just filing bankruptcy. is there anything that can be done to help me out of this mess? ford will not take this vehicle back bc it has over 60,000 miles etc. unable to select boxes, due to frozen boxes.

Takata gas tank recall: last year at 68,000 miles i took my car into dealership for gas tank recall. it was repaired and there were no more problems until about a week ago. my vehicle now has 82,000 miles on it. it started jerking and stalling a lot and i realized in the past week i had stopped to get gas every day on my way to work. i have put a total of $55 in to drive 300 miles. i started noticing the miles to empty dropping rapidly just driving less than 1 mile.i took it to the local ford dealership who did not perform a diagnostics test and told me to come pick the vehicle up, the recall was already performed a year ago. so i called ford motor company to complain about this peoblem and was told i could only have that problem fixed once! they told me they would open a case#cas22299572 and i would hear back in 1 business day. i am in the process of moving and i can't go to work for fear of the car "blowing up" especially with it being 100 degrees outside. why is nothing being done with all the problems we as ford focus owners have been dealing with? our lives and our family's lives are at stake here. i have lot jobs, been worried sick, not to mention the time i have wasted taking my vehicle in for tge same thing time after time after time. this has been ingoing for 4 years with the transmission and gas tank problems. why is ford not offering some kind of compensation to those of us affected by a vehicle they knew had problems before they were put on the market to sell! i just don't understand and now in the process of moving expenses, i will have to get a rental car so ai don't blow up. please help!

The fuel pump has failed on my focus. the car just shut off while driving. engine turns over but will not start. it was on a residential street. my car was built 7/14 which falls outside of the recall window which ends in may 20014. its my firm belief it may very well be the same fuel pump issue the others are having. have not made any repairs yet as this just happened last night 7/30/2019.

After 2 visit to ford they stated that i needed to wait for a letter in order for them to replace parts they have. the car is running lean bank 1. when fueling, it stalls. it has stalled while drive on a few occasions. the fuel itself, goes quick, now that the problem has persisted. getting under the car, fuel tank looks deformed as well and the code i get in the car is p0171. it's been close to year since it's started and i still has not received a letter.

We purchased this car and it cut off on my daughter due to the gas tank not functioning properly. the car was repaired and we paid for it. shortly after, the car's transmission stopped shifting properly, lose power, jerk, and shake while driving. it has become so unpredictable that we are unable to drive it. we have been to ford for their secret repairs to the transmission and consistently been told by those that are to do the repair that they don't know anything about it.

Tcm and fuel system purge valve are both recalled on this vehicle , i have taken it to ford 6 times in a year for this issue, they tell me its not affected but it is according to your website and my car has all the symptoms of it, itll loose power on the interstate and then after i get it restarted i can make it 2 miles and it does it again, it is a death trap.

This car hesitates and jerks from a stopped position. there is a rattle as the car starts moving. on two occasions, while merging uphill into traffic, the car stalled. on several other occasions, it came close to stalling. i've taken it to the dealer several times over the years and they tell me there is nothing wrong. when i get the car back from being repaired, the 'check engine' light comes back on after a week or two. i can't answer your question below about when it happened. it happens all the time.

Tcm recall purchased vehicle may 2016. through 3 years of ownership, vehicle was taken to beach ford approx. 3x for regular service including oil change and air filter. while vehicle was at beach ford, i requested service department check the transmission/dual clutch mechanism due to noticeable stuttering while driving. at the time of receiving vehicle back, i was told that the transmission was fine each time. 7/3/2019 - i was on my way to work 30 miles away from my home. while making right hand turn, then accelerated vehicle jolted with check engine light being illuminated. upon further acceleration, determined vehicle could not go above 25-30mph. once parked to address unknown mechanical issue, attempted to reverse out of parking space and discovered vehicle had lost reverse. contacted beach ford explained the issue as well as explaining that the vehicle was 30 miles away from my home and not drivable. the service adviser stated that they did not have a tow truck and could not provide any assistance to have vehicle towed to the service center. 7 hrs later after going through my insurance company with roadside assistance, my vehicle was towed to beach ford within minutes of the service dept closing. due to july 4th holiday, my vehicle would not be looked at until 7/5/19. received call approx. 4:30pm stating my vehicle was ready to be picked up. cpv recall while vehicle was in service for tcm recall, i requested additional recall nhtsa 18v735 canister purge valve be address. service advisor stated they would address and vehicle would be ready the following day 7/6/19. received text 10:44am to pick up vehicle. clutch still felt shaky. see pdf attachment beachfordservjuly0619 cpv recall see pdf attach 14focushernansfty072519 for further issue see pdf attach beachfordservjuly1519 see pdf attach focusservice historycarfax prepared by [xxx] carmasters, llc. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

I had the recall fixed on 5/17/2019 and my car continues to stall. i keep my tank above half or full and it continues to stall with even a full tank. my car was stalled on i 294 in illinois one of the busiest tollway near the chicago airport.

Ford motor contacted me last year about a recall, 18v735. each time i contact them, the date available for replacement parts has been delayed farther out into the future. it is now december 2019. i feel that ford is stringing me along, and that parts will never be available. the longer they delay, the less unsafe vehicles they will have to fix. i think action, in the form of large fines, needs to be taken, in order to get ford to fulfill their obligations.

I purchased this ford w 15000 miles on it. it now has 37000 miles. i feel like the car is a lemon. i have had several issues requiring me to go ford dealership. first the gas information was incorrect. it said i had 26 miles to drive but ran out of gas. then when i was driving on the freeway the car got stuck in between gears. i could not accelerate. then the i tried to back out of a parking spot and the i could not put car into reverse. as a result car was fixed under warranty and recall. the items fixed were gas tank recall, engine mount, clutch, transmission, and (reservoir tank that was not covered under warranty). i picked up car and next day i drove to work with the same issues. gears are not shifting. take bake to dealer and fixed transmission module. now the power steering does not work. i took it to ford and they charged me 160$ to look at it. it will cost 1800$ to fix steering. this not covered under warranty. the dealer also said that the suspension needs to be replaced soon. he stated that suspension needs to be replace at 50000 miles my car only has 37000 miles. i have never replaced suspension in any other car. it makes no's sense why this car is falling apart with 37000 miles on it. it's a lemon and i want my money back. i bought this car for my daughter and it is not safe to drive!

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 ford focus. while driving 65 mph, the vehicle failed to move forward as the accelerator pedal was depressed to the floorboard. in addition, the check engine warning indicator illuminated. the vehicle was taken to korf motors ford lincoln (located at 520 e chestnut st, sterling, co 80751, (970) 522-1500) where the failure was associated with nhtsa campaign number: 18v735000 (fuel system, gasoline). the contact stated that the dealer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. the manufacturer was contacted and stated that the part was not available for the repair. the failure mileage was 85,000. parts distribution disconnect.

I serviced my focus on 5/29/19 for recalls. they performed a multi point inspection. everything normal. 6/09/19, i was driving down city street 40mph driving straight the car down shifted suddenly and a warning " transmission faulty, service now" came on. i was able to drive it home , the car wouldnt shift into a higher gear. i attached both services done . after the second service was done to my vehical it still shuddered when accelerating. 6/29/19 this occured twice the same day, i was waiting at an intersection making a left hand turn into a gas station, when it was safe to turn, i let my foot of the brake and my car inched forward while i hit gas and my car did not move, i was nearly hit both times , the last second with my foot on the gas all the way down to the floor, the car jerks into gear. ive called the dealership about fixing this issue , ive left messages with no call back, i finally got a service call set but not until july 30th. this has now occured almost everyday since 6/29/19. the car does not always do this , it seems to only do it if im below a half a tank , or the first 60 miles on a full tank. i fear for my safety driving this car that when i hit the gas the engine will just rev u[ and not move and get hit. the car always had a shudder when accelerating since we purchased it 1/12/16, but the sales person insisted with new fuel saving system that it was completely normal. i didnt have any major issues besides the shudder when accelerating, and when i would start my car up the first time after filling up, until i got the recall fixed, now ive had nothing but issues.

Takata recall. i took my 2014 ford focus to a ford dealership because my car gas gauge was showing erratic mileage and because i knew i had a recall. i received my vehicle with the same problem as i took it in. my gauge still kept showing erratic mileage.i went back 5 days later tto tell them what was going on and i asked what procedure they had done. they told me that they had only reprogrammed a module. i told them if they could check it out again and they told me that they could but they were going to charge me a diagnostic fee because they had already performed the recall. the diagnostic came out and it turned out that my car needs a new fuel pump, canister purge valve, and fuel tank. i told them that those things were supposed to be fixed the first time i brought it because it was part of the recall. they transferred me to ford internal something and ford said that the recall was already performed and that it was my responsibility now. i mean how does a company like ford can be so unprofessional about somebting like this. i mean part of the recall is to take your vehicle to get those things fixed that the ford assembly line failed to address when making the model. now i am even more scared because i don't know when i will get stranded somewhere because i'm not sure what gas mileage it has.

The vehicle had a recall on the transimission. i took the vehicle in for the recall. the vehicle ran good for about two months. the vehicle has started to slipe when i hit the gas, like it neeed more gas. if the gas padle if hit any harder, i going to push it throught the floor.

I have a 2014 ford focus. i had issues with the gas tank filling starting at the end of 2018. i also stalled out on the highway prior to this. i informed the dealer of this issue prior to the completion of the recall which is associated with this defect (safety recall notice 18s32 /nhtsa recall 18v-735). the dealer completed the software update related to the recall. the gas tank still exhibited issues filling (which only emerged around the stalling ' this is related to the recall). the next day after the software update was completed, i received a p1450 error code related to an evap cannister error. according to the dealer, the repair associated with this should have been covered under the recall. however, the dealer (who has been extremely helpful) stated that ford was unwilling to provide reimbursement to this for this repair. ford, on their website states, 'dealers will inspect and replace the canister purge valve, carbon canister, fuel tank and fuel delivery module, as necessary. there will be no charge for these services.' further efforts to speak to ford directly about this have been unsuccessful. the dealer stated that this is a technical issue with billing that ford refuses to address. as a result, i have had to replace the evap cannister at my own expense ($331.39). the p1450 code came back on after this repair. therefore the issue is still not resolved. i have been told that any further recall related repairs will be at my expense because ford refuses to provide appropriate reimbursement. the dealer expressed that they were very frustrated with the situation.

In december 2018 i was on the highway going 70 mph and suddenly my car would no longer accelerate. it would not start either until hours later. took it back to ford after telling them what had happened and they said it was because of a fuel pump recall. i got a letter later that month after my car had been to ford and checked out, saying the part was recalled in october. i was not notified prior and it is very dangerous to stall on highway. then a few weeks ago i had the same thing happen on the highway again. whenever my fuel is kind of low the car just stalls and i can't start it. i was able to get gas and jump my car and get it home and has been fine since, but i went into ford the next day and told them that the same issue happened and they told me that back in december when they 'fixed' my vehicle they actually just looked at it and said it was fine, but told me they replaced/fixed the part. so the part was never fixed or resolved. not to mention i have only have this car since september 2017 and have had the clutch replaced 3 times and now am feeling the signs of it failing again for the 4th time. this car is unsafe and unpredictable and ford has lied to me and not informed me of the dangers of the vehicle i'm paying them for.

I have had multiple incidents with my 2014 ford focus related to the faulty transmission. besides rough shifting and lots of shuddering over the years, my car has completely stalled on me while in motion, driving on the highway 2 different times. i lost the ability to accelerate while going more than 65 miles per hour, and i had to coast through high-speed traffic to get to the shoulder (both times). the first time this happened was july 29th, 2017 in fort lauderdale, florida. the 2nd time was june 6th, 2019 on the sawgrass expressway in broward county, florida. both times were very scary and put myself and others at risk for a serious and dangerous accident. early on, the ford dealership told me that the rough transmission is normal and would get better if i improved my driving habits. more recently i have been told that the transmission would fail again but that the warranty has been extended.

While driving my 2014 ford focus on the highway, the car almost stalled during a backup in traffic. while normal driving the car lost power and the rpm gauge started dropping as the accelerator was been depressed further. while traffic to overtake on the highway the car actually slowed down while trying to go faster. the car behave like the transmission is having problems switching to lower gears.

Ford is refusing to perform recall 18v-735. the car stalls, runs out of gas, has erroneous mileage and dte readings. the local dealer was "obligated" to perform the recall service when i had it in for a different safety recall for faulty door latch. they didn't seem to know much about the recall on the fuel system. they didn't know about the gas tank. i had to tell them. they reprogrammed the pcm which did nothing. the recall on this car was closed. i called ford. they said the recall was still open and take it to where we purchased the car new. that dealer says the recall is closed on that car. the car stalls, ran out of gas yesterday with my wife on a busy highway. this is a dangerous car. called ford again. they say the recall service was performed and the car is fine. look at the photo. does that look like it is fine? 39.8 mpg? not a chance. the car lurches, stalls and runs out of gas between 120 and 60 miles left on the dte gauge. when you fill up you can tell their is 3 gallon at least in the tank. the gas tank is collapsed. the sending unit / fuel gauge is crushed. yet ford says the car is fine. it's fixed.

I was driving on the left lane of highway i-495n suddenly as i had my foot on gass the vehicle stall and started to slow down, i turn off the radio and put my hazard lights on and as soon as i pull to the side of the road the vehicle shut down completely all the lights when off, (if i wouldn't have been quick enough i would have gotten into a major accident) while waiting for the tow truck i found out there's a recall on my vehicle,

After the recall "repair" my car began exhibiting the issues described in the recall. this system caused my clutch to burn up and now ford will not repair issue. stepping on the gas either floods engine or stalls engine. issue is especially noticed when leaving a stopped state.

I recently bought a 2014 ford focus hatchback from elliott chrysler dodge jeep in carthage texas not knowing i was buying a vehicle with a active safety recall. was told buy the salesperson there was no recalls on the vehicle that they are required by law to fix them prior to selling it. and i was driving home 11 days after getting the car and it stalled out in the middle of the highway in the left lane and would not accelerate and the check engine light came on and i was almost hit by another vehicle. i sent the car back to the dealer you tried to give it back to me again telling me that they drove it the check engine light isn't on anymore and we looked up your website to see if the car had an active recall which it did. we refused to take the car back unless they fixed the recall. so they said they were sending the car to excel ford in carthage texas. that they had called them and verify the recall in which we found out about the recall from the paperwork from the dealership giving us the website. the service tech called and said he called ford verifying the recall and that the parts for fixing the recall we're on backorder and could take quite a while. a day later elliott dodge of carthage called us back where we bought the car and said they had the car back the recall was fixed. along with the piece of paper stating it was fixed but not how. and now a week later if that and the car stalled out again check engine light on and did the same thing it did before the recall was allegedly fixed. once again nearly causing an accident when the car stalled and will not accelerate. i was just driving down the highway and it stalls check engine light flashes then stays on losing all power and will not accelerate.

I took my car in for a recall a few months ago also mentioning that it has been saying it's overheating and they gave my car back saying nothing is wrong and now i've been driving with my newborn daughter and all of the sudden my car wouldn't go past 65 & then after it started working again my battery goes out i thought it was because the gas light had been on and so i called aaa and had someone come down they put in gas and got it started but to my dismay i wasn't even able to make it home seeing as how my car could barely accelerate and again it shut off at first i was driving on the freeway and when i slowed down to stop at a light my battery symbol went on and then the car shut off & after i got it working again it was working and then it slowed and would let me press the brakes anymore and since the. it won't start

Was driving vehicle then all of a sudden it started shuddering and seemed like it was having trouble shifting gears pulled into parking lot then vehicle wouldn't go into reverse all other gears worked fine and the rpms on vehicle would rev up on their own without pressing on the gas pedal after about 20 to 30 minutes was finally able to get out of reverse
