My radio has very high static and i cannot use my phone system. my fuel gauge is not reading properly. my car just shuts off while i am driving it. when i pull off the engine stalls. these issues have been on going every since i owned the car. it is a complete lemon.
I had my transmission recall worked on and immediately after that my check engine light came on and every time after that anytime i get gas my car stalls and has issues starting. i have to sit and wait for 20 or 30 mins before my car will start. if i try to drive off i have to push down on the accelerator and shift into drive and if i stop the car will shut off.
I'm just having several issues with this car since i purchased it
The vehicle suddenly shut off while my daughter was driving on a highway and she was unable to restart it. the mechanic states that it is a malfunction involving the purge valve and fuel pump. due to this malfunction, the o2 sensor and fuel tank needs replaced and the pcm needs reprogrammed. the mechanic states this should be covered under recall 18s32 and 19s22 but ford is saying that my particular vehicle is not covered under this recall. why???
When driving car and come to a stop, it splitters when accelerating. when fuel gets lower than half of a tank, the car loses power, sputters and engine makes a grinding noise. this happens only when driving uphill or from stopped position.
Car stalled on 99 highway without any warning losing all power and unable to restart. towed to dealership and was informed tank was now deformed due to the vapor system lock of the cpv safety recall notice 18s32 technicians have sent pictures that they are in possession of and said they could not give us copies of but allowed us to see and showed us the technicians recommendations for tank to also be replaced along with the cpv . ford customer service centers have not returned phone calls after being informed of our concerns and state specs due not met there requirement so therefor are refusing to pay for tank to be replaced . although the specialist states different.
When i accelerate from a stop the car shutters/jerks. feels like strong tumble strips. also almost like wheels are locking and trying to grip. i have been scared at i intersections as with hesitation the car doesn't have much power. once it shifts (i have automatic) it's fine. doesn't happen every time either.
Recall 18v735 was issued almost a year ago. however, ford seems uninterested in correcting the issue. safecar.gov reports: "recall status: recall incomplete. remedy not yet available." i'm still waiting and waiting on a fix., driving a potentially dangerous vehicle in the meantime.
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford focus. while driving 45 mph, the vehicle stalled and shut off without warning. the vehicle was able to restart. also, when the fuel tank was filled, the fuel gauge did not display the correct amount of fuel and the mileage was incorrect. the contact also stated that the shape of the fuel tank appeared unusual. furthermore, the contact stated that the vehicle did not immediately start when it was cranked. there were no warning indicators illuminated. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 18v735000 (fuel system, gasoline). the vehicle was taken to reynolds ford of okc (833-821-8065, located at 7320 nw expy, oklahoma city, ok 73132) where the software system was updated. the manufacturer was made aware of the failures and confirmed that the recall repair was to update the software system. the failure mileage was 117,402.
This focus has gave me nothing but problems . i've had it for almost 4 years in january. and it's left me stranded numerous times multiple trips to the delership lets not get started on how awful they are. i'm going to trade it in . never will i buy another ford !!
While driving on the highway the vehicle stopped running and lost all power without warning the vehicle could not be re-started. was able to get the vehicle towed and looked at by an independent repair shop since the ford dealerships were too busy to look at a vehicle that was 3 hours away from the home address. the cause of the issue was the evaporator vacuum canister. the failure of the canister also caused the fuel tank to deform and damaged the fuel pump/level sensor. the canister was replaced and the fuel tank popped out as much as possible, but the fuel level sensor is still reading incorrectly due to the deformed tank.
I have a 2013 ford focus se. i bought it used at 84k miles from a dealership in february of 2019. first time i got gas after buying the car it had trouble starting afterwards. had that fixed and it doesn't stall but the miles to empty reads incorrectly now. also started making a grinding sort of noise when i'm going up slight inclines. when i go from a stop light or stop sign it shudders during accelerating. i was getting onto the highway and had to stop on the entrance ramp due to road work and almost couldn't get enough power to get onto the interstate. currently this website is saying all of my recalls have been repaired.
1. the transmission jumped at intersection once. the transmission did not switch from park to drive once. the software was re-configured several times but it still not running smoothly at low speed. this issue happened since i bought the car in new. 2. the fuel tank indicator did not show correct fuel level. the engine light on. the car seems loosing power. had to bring the car to the dealer to re-configure the software.
We had transmission clutches replaced through recall. this did not fix problem. while driving, car will start flashing transmission error, hill assist error, breaking error , etc.. then the car will stall. we have taken it to dealer 3 times now. this has happened on busy city streets and highway.
I received a safety recall in dec. 18 for cpv valve and deformed gas tank. they said parts would be in by end of march 2019 as per letter from ford. i called ford today and they are apparently still working with their parts supplier and they have no date to correct this problem. this is a focus st and they say only fill up the gas tank halfway. why have a recall if they don't fix the problem? who is protecting the consumer? is there an actual time limit to get this done?
