Problems with 2015 Ford F-150 SERVICE BRAKES

On average, the 2015 Ford F-150 starts to “feel” problems with the SERVICE BRAKES and its various aspects after 49 948 miles.

Recently reported SERVICE BRAKES problems on 2015 Ford F-150

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 ford f-150. the contact stated that while driving at 30 mph, the vehicle brake ceased to operate without warning. the contact was able to downshift the vehicle and drive to an independent mechanic. the contact topped off the transmission however, the brake failure persisted. the vehicle was then taken to an unnamed dealer to be diagnosed. the contact was informed that the brake master cylinder needed to be replaced which was still pending. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 162,000.

Brake fluid is leaking. i was driving and all of a sudden my brakes went all the way to the floor and i nearly lost control of the vehicle. i also got a notice of low brake fluid, so i put some in and a few days later it was low again. i noticed that it is leaking out onto other parts under my hood.

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 ford f-150. while driving 65 mph and attempting to slow down, the brakes malfunctioned and the brake pedal traveled to the floorboard. the contact released the accelerator pedal and merged over to the median of the road. the contact pumped the brake pedal several times, but it traveled to the floorboard again. the vehicle eventually slowed down to a stop. when the contact turned off and restarted the vehicle, the low brake fluid message appeared. the contact slowly drove to an auto store to purchase more brake fluid, but the failure recurred. the vehicle was taken to bill knight ford (9607 s memorial dr, tulsa, ok 74133, (888) 464-2411) where it was in the process of being diagnosed. the manufacturer was not notified. the failure mileage was 160,000.

As i was driving on the highway, i got a warning on my dash saying the brake fluid level was low, accompanied by the brake light illuminating on the dash. as i went to pull over to a safe location, the brake pedal went all the way to the floor when i pressed the pedal. at this point i had no power from my brakes, having to stop by downshifting and using the emergency brake. upon inspection there was a very small amount of brake fluid in the reservoir and no visible signs of a leak or broken brake lines. i purchased brake fluid and refilled the reservoir. within 2 miles the warning illuminate again with the brake pedal going to the floor. i had to have my truck towed to the dealership for repairs after this incident.

On 09/22/2019 while driving, on a local city street, where the speed limits vary from 30-45 mph, my brakes became completely ineffective while driving in a 45 mph zone. my vehicle is a 2015 ford f-150 with 63,000 miles. i inspected the brake fluid reservoir, and it was completely empty with no sign of leakage anywhere. i did a quick search on this issue and learned that ford had issued a recall for the same issues on the 2013-2014 models, but not 2015 and up, which are now experiencing the same symptoms. the vehicle is currently at a local ford dealership where i am finding it difficult to get a resolution. the dealership has confirmed at this point that it is the brake master cylinder that has leaked fluid into the brake booster, which caused the loss of brakes, and is the exact same problem as the recall for the previous year models. the dealership is supposed to provide me with an estimate of the repairs, but have yet to do so after a week of being at the dealership.

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 ford f-150. when the contact's wife was driving 45 mph, the brake pedal traveled to the floorboard when it was depressed. also, the low brake fluid warning indicator illuminated. the emergency brake had to be engaged to stop the vehicle. the vehicle was taken to courtesy ford (6393 us-98, hattiesburg, ms 39402, (601) 264-5555) where the master cylinder, brake booster, and brake booster sensor were replaced. the vehicle was repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure, but did not assist. the failure mileage was 77,566. *pm*jb

Wife was driving vehicle and experienced sudden lose of brakes , brake pedal went to floor and low brake fluid level light came on . had to use emergency brake to bring vehicle to a stop with no prior warning.

Started the vehicle and immediately received an error message stating the brake fluid reservoir had low fluid. the brake warning light was also activated. when the brake pedal was depressed it went all the wall to the floor. refilled the reservoir and restarted the vehicle. moved the vehicle and pressed the brake pedal, which went to the floor. received another brake activated and low brake fluid warnings again. i have had the vehicle towed to beechmont ford, cincinnati, oh for diagnosis and repair. awaiting their findings.

Complete brake failure. while my 15 year old son was driving with his learners permit, we were exiting a highway. the weather was clear and dry. as he was slowing down the vehicle on a 65mph hwy off ramp, at approxamatly 35-40 mph the low brake fluid light came on and the brake pedal went soft and almost to the floor. he wasn't able come to complete stop. we made a right turn rolling onto the cross street and an oncoming vehicle had to slam on their brakes to avoid us. i then took over the driving to get the vehicle home. it was clear there were no power brakes and the brake pedal was soft, taking mutch more distance to depress the pedal. once we were home i added brake fluid again and again totaling two quarts of fluid. the fluid would only last in the reservior for several minutes then it would drain down. there were no signs of fluid leaking anywhere along the entire brake system. the vehicle is now undrivable. my asumption is that the fluid is leaking into the brake booster. the vehicle is in transit to the dealer for diagnostics.

Driving, i received a low brake fluid warning. the next braking event i lost all brake controls. i was not able to stop. all traffic lights were green and was able to use the emergency brake to come to a complete stop in my driveway. almost caused two incidents but was able to swerve

I would like to share my wife's story on what happened while driving my 2015 f-150 3.5l ecoboost last thursday 9/5/2019. around 5:30pm my cell phone rings and the id shows that it is my wife calling me. i figured she was calling me to talk about her day or what i was making for dinner but she was really calling me to tell me my truck's brake and fluid light sensor came on. she was worried about driving the truck any further as she was coming down the highway. i told her that i would google to see if anyone else was having this issue and that i would call her right back. i quickly searched 2015 f-150 brake and fluid light sensor and instantly found several posts about people having this issue. after reading a couple very quickly, most people said that they lost their brakes instantly or with in minutes. i was worried so i quickly called her back and calmly asked her if she could get off the highway or pull off asap. i then proceeded to tell her that she might lose the brakes in the truck. i told her to call me if the vehicle became worse. at that time she was close to the exit. as she was approaching the off ramp the brake pedal pushed almost to the floor. she pressed the pedal again before getting to the yield sign and realized that she was losing the brakes. luckily the traffic was not heavy in the oncoming traffic and allowed her to run the yield sign without having the ability to stop if needed. she got it stoped. she then called me again to tell me that the truck lost its brakes and that it was unable to be driven. at this time the brake pedal went to the floor every time she pressed it. when i arrived at her location the brake fluid was about empty. i refilled it and pressed the brakes a few times. we had it towed to a ford dealership. ford found that the master cylinder failed. i'm still waiting for them to get the replacement part in.

I depressed brake pedal to start truck. once truck started the pedal went all the way to the floor and the brake warning light on the dash illuminated. tried moving the truck a couple feet to see if i had brakes, and the truck did not stop when the pedal was depressed. used the emergency brake to stop. checked the master cylinder, it was empty. i added about 10 oz. of brake fluid, pumped up the brakes and it worked. drove about 8 minutes to work, brakes ok. i returned to the truck after work, about 10 hours and the pedal went to the floor again and no brakes. i filled master cylinder again and was able to drive home. i drove very slowly and carefully because i expected to brakes to fail at any time. i live 5 miles from work. if it was any more i would have had the truck towed. i will have it towed to the dealer in the morning.

Brake failure due to brake fluid leaking through master cylinder and being sucked into the exhaust. the fluid is sucked out of the brake system through a vacuum line in the master cylinder and booster which lowers the fluid level and lets air into the brake lines. the brake fluid is then burned in the exhaust and creates white smoke from the exhaust pipe. the "low brake fluid" light came on while driving on a main city road and the brakes went out immediately after. the vehicle would stop only if the brake pedal was compressed all the way to the floor. on several occasions the emergency brake had to be used to bring the vehicle to a complete stop. after the "low brake fluid" light came on, more brake fluid (32 oz) was added but it was immediately sucked through the master cylinder and into the exhaust and the problem persisted. i scheduled an appointment to have a local ford dealership flush the brake system as i assumed there was air in the lines due to the low fluid level. after the dealership flushed the brake and replaced all fluid the vehicle still had no brakes. this is when the problem with the master cylinder was discovered.

Sitting at a stop sign and "low brake fluid" light came on. drove less than a mile home ready to use the ebrake after noticing the brake went all the way to the floor before stopping, so didn't know how much was left. the brake fluid was very low. added brake fluid, drove it around the block and as i was pulling into the driveway, the "low brake fluid" light came on again. turns out, it's the master cylinder leaking all the fluid into the brake booster, which apparently is a known issue that ford is ok with? they recalled the 2013 and 2014s, but 2015s and 2016s are having the same problem. shame.

While driving to work yesterday morning on the freeway my "low brake fluid" warning came on. as i tried to stop after exiting the freeway, the brake pedal went all the way to the floor with what felt like was no pressure. only after fully seating the pedal to the floor was i able to get the brakes to grab and get stopped. luckily it was early morning and traffic was minimal. when i checked my brake fluid it was well below the minimum level mark. using another vehicle at work, i went and bought a small bottle of fluid and put the entire thing into the reservoir, bringing up to about half way between min and max. over the next 10 minutes we watched the level slowly drop down below the min line and beyond. i drove back to the store and bought a large bottle of fluid, having decided i was going to take the truck to the dealership. i filled the reservoir to the max line and set out at a slow speed using side streets. i hadn't went 2 miles when the "low brake fluid" light came on again. i checked the level, again down below min, and i again refilled the reservoir, using the rest of the bottle, and continued on....once again within 2 miles the light returned. i never really had brake pressure throughout this time. never once did i find evidence of a leak. today the dealership called and told me my master cylinder and brake booster both need replaced, and the fluid was building inside the booster, hence no puddle. my truck is only 4 years old, with less than 54,000 miles on it so it seems early in its life to have this system fail suddenly. after doing some research online, including this site, i've seen that this isn't quite as uncommon as i originally thought it would be. there seems to have been many instances of this year/make/model of truck losing its brake system around the same mileage or earlier.

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 ford f-150. while driving approximately 25 mph, the low brake fluid indicator illuminated. the contact pulled over at a fuel station and filled up the brake fluid reservoir. the contact continued to drive and the low brake fluid indicator illuminated again. in addition, the brake pedal traveled to the floorboard. the vehicle was taken to sill-terhar ford (303-469-1801, located at 190 alter st, broomfield, co 80020) where it was diagnosed that the brake fluid might have leaked into the brake booster system. the vehicle was left at the dealer's for a complete diagnostic test. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was approximately 54,000. *tr*jb

While i was driving the low brake fluid warning came on, and seconds later the brakes felt spongy and would not return. i was able to make it to a gas station and added a bottle of brake fluid to the reservoir. this gave pressure back to the pedal, but a second later the light came back on and a loss of pressure was noticed through pedal again. the pedal needs to be on the floor to getting any stopping action. i believe that the master cylinder has a leak that is causing this safety hazard.

Started truck and warning light and sound notified me of low brake fluid. found reservoir very low, added fluid, applied pressure to brake pedal and looked for leaks, no leaks found. brake pedal felt spongy and not firm, started to move but brake pedal went almost to the floor. found reservoir almost empty again with no leaks to be found under the vehicle or at the wheels. had truck towed to dealership.

My truck was being repaired for light front end deer hit. the technician was backing my truck into the cleanup bay and the brakes failed completely. another tech had to manually stop the truck from rolling. i contacted my dealer and was told that their is no recall fir this year and i was stuck paying the bill. 40 year ford guy seriously looking into dodge. i can't have the safety of my family jeopardized.

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 ford f-150. while driving 15 mph, the low brake fluid level warning indicator illuminated. while driving around a curve, the brake pedal was depressed, but the vehicle failed to respond and drove off the road. there was no crash or physical damage to the vehicle. the contact was able to apply the parking brake and drove home safely. the contact self-diagnosed that the brake master cylinder failed. freestone ford (located at 1201 us-84, fairfield, tx 75840, (903) 389-4186) was contacted by phone and notified of the failure. the manufacturer was not contacted. the vehicle was not repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 110,000.

Ruptured brake line. pedal went soft to floor, luckily happened at a stop light.

2015 ford f-150 3.5 ecoboost 47900 miles. started my truck which was stationary, low reservoir light came on and brake pedal went to floor, total failure. looked for external leak and found none. added dot 4 fluid to fill line and watched it disappear. had my truck towed to my ford dealer and they verified brake master cylinder leaking into brake booster. 1500 dollar repair. dealer said upgraded parts were installed but nobody wanted to discuss the failure. could have been worse i i was headed to the mountains today.

While driving my 2015 ford f150 the brakes failed. first the low brake fluid light came on, i added brake fluid and everything appeared to be normal. i went to pull my truck into my garage and the brake light came on and the brake pedal went to the floor. i almost went through the wall into my house. my local service station stated that the ford f150 2013 & 2014 had recalls on the brake master cylinder and the brake vacuum booster pump. my mechanic stated that the rear seal went and caused all the fluid to leak out.

On vacation and out of town...was driving my ford truck and "low brake fluid light" appeared. pulled immediately into first parking lot walmart store. checked fluid and found reservoir was low. went into walmart to purchases break fluid. none available. pushed on brake to start truck and break went to floor. called aaa and tow truck took my truck to university auto repair. diagnosis was master cylinder malfunction all all break fluid backed into brake booster assembly cuasing breaks to fail.my major concern was i just pulled amtrialer from phx,az to flagstaff,az on interstate rt i-17. note: this streach of road over 100 miles is mountainess with 6% grades. it horrifies me to think if i would have lost brakes going up and down this interstate from and to home. it could have been a horrific fatility given the fact that from the time the low brake fluid light came on and mintues later i lost my breaks. even after having my truck brakes repaired, i was very nervous dring down the i-17 interstate back to my home in phoenix. i should not have to have fear of breaks failing. researching,i have found master cylinder and break booster assembly failed on previous years fod f 150 models. 2014 model being the most recent.

Complete loss of brakes. received a low brake fluid warning. fluid was below minimum. topped off with dot 4 fluid and resumed driving. brakes completely failed within a few hundred feet with a complete loss of brakes and the warning light for low fluid again and total loss of brakes. immediately used the parking brake in order to keep from hitting 4 cars stopped in front of us. we used the parking brake to safely pull over on the highway entrance ramp

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 ford f-150. when the vehicle was started, the low brake fluid indicator illuminated and the brakes did not hold when the brake pedal was depressed. the vehicle was taken to jones ford (833-980-1600, located at 5757 rivers ave, north charleston, sc 29406) and kept for diagnostic testing. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that nothing could be done until the failure was diagnosed. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was approximately 65,000.

Completely lost brakes while pulling a car trailer and car on highway. no leaks, but master cylinder completely dry. refilled and went 20 miles and empty again. master was leaking fluid into booster and being sucked into engine and burning it. had to use emergency brake and downshift transmission to stop. truck was towed to ford for repair. ford customer service wouldn't help with repair until they are told to recall them by government. someone is going to get killed. brakes were gone in an instant

I was driving on city streets when this happened. my 'brake fluid low' light came on and a few minutes later i lost all brake power. the brake pedal went straight to the floor. after getting the vehicle to my dealer, they determined the brake cylinder had failed and the brake cylinder and brake booster needed to be replaced. i have attached the dealer invoice showing the repairs, to replace the master cylinder and brake booster, which totaled $1,068.52.

Brake warning lights come on with low fluid warning; lost braking when pedal went to floor shortly thereafter when i was on expressway. i avoided accident barely. i keep adding fluid, but no sign of leaking that i can see, but getting white smoke from exhaust . very dangerous!

This truck experienced sudden and complete brake failure on friday 7/19/19. luckily, this occurred in a parking lot, and the truck only hit a curb. our truck was towed to bob davidson ford in parkville, md for repair. they diagnosed failure of the brake master cylinder leaking onto and damaging the brake booster. this truck has the 3.5 liter ecoboost engine. ford issued a recall for brake master cylinder & brake booster failures for 2013 & 2014 f150's with the same engine. why has this failure of brake master cylinders & brake boosters not been extended to the 2015 f-150's with the same engine? this obviously seems to be a serious safety problem that should be prevented and paid for by ford.

Was driving on the interstate and the warning light came on for low brake fluid. i got to my exit and the brakes went all the way to floor and i could just stop in time. had to pull over and get a tow the rest of the way home.

I have experienced an egregious safety issue with my vehicle whereas the braking system has failed. this morning while on the interstate to bring my two kids (3 yrs old and 12 months old) to daycare, my dashboard indicated "brake fluid level low." while i continued to drive, i assumed perhaps the brake fluid may need to be topped off for whatever reason. however, to my surprise- about a mile further i discovered that the brakes were inoperable and i immediately panicked. i took it upon myself to get to the shoulder of the highway and allow the vehicle to come to a rolling stop and inch toward the nearest exit. fearing for the lives of myself and two children, i further inched toward the nearest parking lot (burger king) where i could have my family removed from harm's way. the brakes are totally unusable and when applying the brake pedal, the pedal goes all the way down to the floorboard. there is no pressure or resistance as the brakes would present themselves when working properly. i refuse to drive this vehicle with this issue and am now demanding safety recall. my vehicle was towed to butch oustalet ford of gulfport, ms on 7/12/2019. my service advisor, zach kunz, advised that the braking system has indeed failed. specifically, the seal on the master cylinder became defective and caused the brake fluid to spill into the brake booster. this was a sudden and total failure of the braking system. i was further advised that this is not covered under any warranty and that teh repair costs were upwards of $900. i am now stuck paying $900 for a prolific safety defect where ford's failure almost caused fatality of myself and children. i am demanding that this be placed on mandatory recall, at the expense of ford motor company. current mileage: 90758

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 ford f-150. the contact stated that all the indicators illuminated on the instrument panel and a message appeared indicating that the brake fluid was low. also, while driving 70 mph, the brake pedal was depressed to the floorboard; however, the vehicle failed to respond. the vehicle came to a rolling stop. the vehicle was towed to butch oustalet ford (9274 us 49, gulfport, ms 39503, (228) 863-5525) where it was diagnosed that the master cylinder failed and brake fluid leaked onto the brake booster. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was contacted. the failure mileage was 90,800. *tr*jb

I started my truck to back out of the driveway and when i went to press the brakes the pedal went all the way to the floor with the truck almost running into my neighbor's curb. i pulled back in my drive way and again the pedal went to the floor barely stopping the truck. i checked the brake reservoir but it was full and no warning lights came on. having towed to dealer, appointment scheduled for monday 7/15/19.

While driving on the interstate a 'low break fluid' warning annunciated, and once acknowledged the break system warning light remained illuminated. i immediately exited the interstate and stopped at a gas station to purchase break fluid to replenish the level. as of this time, there was no noticeable change in breaking or the feel of my break petal. after adding almost the entire pint of break fluid to bring the level to an acceptable level, i started my truck and the break system warning light was no longer illuminated. as i started to pull out of the parking spot, i noticed a slight change in the feel of the break petal. so i stopped once again and looked at the break system (master cylinder, booster, hoses, lines, etc) but did not identify any damage or signs of leakage. i re-entered the truck and drove around the parking lot for a minute or two and within this time the feel of the break petal returned to near normal feel. it was at this time i re-entered the interstate and within less than one mile of travel the 'low break fluid' warning annunciated once again, however upon pressing the break petal to exit, the break petal went to the floorboard with little to no breaking results. i responded by using the emergency/parking break to assist with controlling the truck until i could reach a safe location to park the truck.

After leaving the gym one morning, i went to the parking lot and started my truck. instantly a low brake fluid warning light shows up, which i thought was weird because my brakes felt completely normal driving to the gym. i tested the brakes and immediately pushed the pedal to the floorboard without resistance. i went outside and noticed no leaks anywhere along the brake system. popped the hood and the brake fluid reservoir was completely empty, but no leaks. hopped back in and tested the brakes while driving in the parking lot. i had about 5% braking power, at best. started reading online and found hundreds of complaints about people's brakes going out in the same fashion. instant failure. luckily mine was very early in the morning while parked in an empty parking lot. others had it happen while driving on a freeway, towing a trailer, much more dangerous situations. all had the same issue - failed seal at the master cylinder, allowing the vacuum in the booster to instantly suck all the brake fluid out. i had the truck towed to the dealership and sure enough, failed master cylinder and ruined booster. $1000 to fix. i read elsewhere that ford changed oem manufacturers for the master cylinder at some point, which the dealership confirmed. also, this issue is under official investigation #rq16001, but has yet to be an official recall. considering recalls were issued for 2013 and 2014 models for the same reason, and the over 600 complaints i've found for the same reasons for 2015, i find it unacceptable this hasn't been officially recalled yet. this could have been an incredibly dangerous situation.

Pulled out of the driveway stepped on the brakes pedal went to the floor used emergency break open the hood to find empty reservoir fill the reservoir with fluid fluid stepped on the brakes two minutes later it was all gone with no visible leaks

Brake failure, brake fluid loss into master cylinder resulting in brake pedal going all the way to floor, no braking power. truck was in motion in a mountain region which could have been very serious.

Brake fluid warning light came on lost all brakes after parking . brake pedal went to the floor. happened coming off highway .

Driving to work and the low brake fluid warning light came on and the brake pedal felt soft. about 1/2 mile later, i tried the brakes again and the pedal went all the way to the floor with almost zer0 stopping power. coasted to a stop and no brake fluid in the resevoir. no sign of leakage anywhere. five minutes on google and i discover ford recalled 271,000 2013 and 2014 f150's due to defective brake master cylinder. when the master cylinder fails, all the brake fluid gets sucked into the brake booster, totally disabling the braking system. i was very lucky to get the vehicle out of traffic and stopped with out incident. based on the aforementioned, you would think ford would certainly repair this defective master cylinder and ruined brake booster on my 2015 f150 with only 49,500 miles. spoke to dealership and ford customer service and the answer was no, your 2015 f150 is not covered by the recall.

Lost brakes on the freeway this morning. i had to put it on first gear and used the emergency brakes. thank god traffic was slow i had my daughter with me.

I had the vehicle in for warranty issues at our local dealer. i received a call from dealer that the brake booster had to be replaced, due to the mechanic loosing brakes and almost hitting service bay wall. ford is currently making us pay for the brake booster and also an emissions related fault.

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 ford f-150. while starting the vehicle, the low brake fluid level warning indicator illuminated. the contact refilled the brake fluid and the warning indicator turned off. when the vehicle was started, the brake pedal traveled to the floorboard. the contact rechecked the brake fluid level and saw no leaks underneath the vehicle. malouf ford lincoln (2210 us highway 1, north brunswick township, nj 08902, (732) 951-0300) stated that there were no recalls; therefore, the contact would have to pay for the repairs. the manufacturer was not contacted. the failure mileage was 53,300.

While my wife was driving the vehicle with my two children in the in it, the brake fluid light came on. almost immediately after the brakes began to fail. the pedal began to have less resistance and would barely stop. thankfully this occurred as she was arriving to our house. i checked it myself as soon as i could the next morning and there was absolutely no resistance on the pedal as it would just go all the way to the floor. had this happened as we were driving a longer distance, it could have ended very badly as there were no early warning signs to my fluid level being low. i added fluid and test drove it around the block. it seemed to work normally again. however, as i got into the truck the next morning, i experienced the same issue.

Complete front brake failure

Sudden loss of braking fluid and power while in motion. fluid filled the booster with about 4 inches of braking fluid from reservoir

This afternoon i left work to drive half a mile to my son's daycare when the low brake fluid light came on. once parked at daycare i checked all lines, wheels, and under the hood and had no indication of any leaks. i went inside to get my son and came back out and as i started to drive away i found my brake pedal would go to the floor with zero pressure and the brakes were totally failed. i had a friend bring me a large bottle of brake fluid and i refilled the reservoir. i did a short test drive around the daycare and that was enough to lower the fluid level. i live 3.1 miles away from the daycare so decided to carefully drive home. i had to stop 3 times to refill the reservoir when the low fluid light came on before the brakes failed completely, again. i went through 4 bottles of brake fluid in 3 miles, still with no indication of any leaks. i feel very fortunate that this didn't happen to me while driving at greater speeds and/or on a busy road. i now have to deal with missed work and trying to get my truck to a dealership and repaired, while being a single parent of a toddler.

While driving and low brake light fluid light comes on no warning. lose all braking ability. failure of the master brake cylinder. from looking online this is a known issue with these trucks.

Vehicle has 63,000 miles and today the warning low brake fluid light came on while driving home. at that point the brakes we functioning normally. there was a auto parts store a few miles from my location so i diverted to the store. i thought i was either topping off fluid or would find a broken line when i arrived. at the turn into the parking lot the brake pedal went all the way to the floor nearly no braking power only going 5 miles an hour or less. at the store i inspected the vehicle and found no leaks. the reservoir was very low. i replace the fluid to the correct level and continued home. within 5 miles the light came on again. i proceeded 2 more miles home to inspect the vehicle. i found the reservoir low again, i thoroughly inspected for leaks and found nothing on the outside of the cylinder or any lines. the i began to research the problem. i will now contact the dealer to arrange for repairs. i am suspect that something internally to the cylinder is leaking. where else would 10oz of fluid go? if anyone from ford is reading this (national safety manager...) it's not just the goods or services you provide that matters. integrity counts, and the long-term success of your business depends on it. i teach my children that lying, cheating and stealing are unacceptable. i expect integrity in my employees, it matters. time to step up before something deadly happens

The factory/ dealer installed tow brake controller does not apply enough brake power to stop trailer. when towing my 5th wheel(10000lbs)it works fine when i manually apply the override button but when i apply the brake pedal the trailer brakes don't get the command to engage with enough power to stop trailer, my truck is doing almost all of the braking. i have read online where many ford f 150 owners are having similar issues. ford says there is nothing wrong. i have been towing using the manual override switch or learning to slam on the brakes to stop. the trailer brakes do work almost when i slam on the brake pedal. i am sure that this shouldn't be happening because it's not safe.
