Ll have to do with the crankshaft / camshaft sensors. i did some research online and it is said that ford never fixed this problem. apparently it has happened to many, many ford owners.
The engine has repeatedly had cylinder misfires over the past 100,00 miles and 2 years. it's happened many times with different cylinders. replacing the coilpack resolves the issue but it returns after a few weeks. this appears to be the moisture problem with the turbo intercooler that already has several reports. this occurs when the vehicle is in motion and usually while accelerating. it happens most often during wet conditions. when this happens, there is a loss of power and the vehicle slows considerably. this is very dangerous in heavy traffic or when pulling into traffic.
Tl* the contact owns a 2015 ford f-150. the contact stated that after driving the vehicle for several hours, there was an abnormal exhaust odor in the vehicle. the contact stated that the failure was more evident in warmer climates after the vehicle was driven for more than an hour and a half. the vehicle was first taken to matthews currie ford located at 130 n tamiami trail, nokomis, fl 34275, (800)248-2378 to be diagnosed. the mechanic was able to pinpoint a pinhole sized leak however, when the vehicle was taken to nick abraham elyria ford located at 1115 e broad st, elyria, oh 44035, (440) 366-3673, the mechanic was unable to pinpoint a location for the possible exhaust leak. the contact was informed that no repairs would be made if the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not contacted or informed of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 59,500.
The truck was running for about 15 minutes. we were going down a major highway in one of the passing lanes at approximately 70mph then without any warning power was lost. on the display trac stability came on then cycled thru hill assist and several others. i drifted of the road just past a exit. the engine felt like it was missing terribly as it cycling thru these errors. i shut it down and restarted it seemed ok, but check engine light still on, when i tried to move it started to shake and cycle errors again. i shut it down again and restarted this time it was running ok. the check engine light was still on and we drove with thecheck egine light for approximately 400 miles stopping and shuting off engine several times.light still on. stopped for 1 hour to eat when restarting no check engine light on and has been working as normal today.

Truck hit a utility pole in the median while traveling west on barbara jordan blvd at lancaster dr. it spun around, and landed on the east bound side of barbara jordan blvd at lancaster dr. the airbags never deployed.
With no notice or warning while driving on freeway pulling horse trailer at 65 mph engine shut down and would not restart. hill assist light came on along with skid anti-sway motion and a wrench appeared in the indicator light. steering wheel became hard to move. had to cross three lanes of traffic to get to side of road in a construction zone while going uphill towing a horse trailer eventually restarted
The vct solenoid has been listed as a problem on a large number of ford engines but ford will not recall. the issue causes the engine to drop in idle and stall. my mechanic said he has changed hundreds in ford engines. this is a safety issue when a vehicle stalls without waning
In early september of 2019, i was driving my 2015 ford f-150 on a major highway at about 65 mph. suddenly, the vehicle stalled and lost all power as the dashboard lite up with some kind of traction warning. i drifted to the side of the road and put it in parked. the whole vehicle shook significantly at this point. i turned the vehicle off and waited about 2minutes. i started the truck up and went on my way with no problem. (note: this incident was a serious safety issue as i was on a major roadway in heavy traffic. my 10 and 8 year old grandchildren were in the back seat). a few weeks and a couple hundred miles later, i was on a narrow mountain road going about 45 mph when the exact same thing happened. i took the truck to the ford dealer after both occurrences, but they could not find anything wrong with it, and said there was nothing they could do. i'm reluctant to drive it as this situation could cause an accident. it only has 42,000 miles on it and i use it to tow my travel trailer. i was not towing the trailer when these incidents occurred. i saw on your web site that several other people have had similar issues with the ford f-150. is there anything i can do about this? note that i bought the truck new in 2015 from the same dealer that i took it to for service. 2015 f150 - without warning - driving at 30 mph on a road and the engine shut down. hill assist came on along with skid anti-sway motion and a wrench appeared in the indicator light. truck would not move. i turned off the engine and started it back up and it ran until i reached 45 mph on a 4 lane main road and the engine shut down and i had to coast to the side and restart again. this is a very hazardous situation especially if i had been on an interstate with multiple lanes. i am surprised ford has not issued a recall on this matter. it happened suddenly and without warning. please look into this asap - i have seen postings where other people are having the same problem.
While driving on a mountain highway (~7000 ft elevation) in colorado, my 2015 ford f150 suddenly lost speed and vibrated wildly before stalling completely in the middle of the highway. while stopped, the truck continued to vibrate. various warning lights illuminated (check engine, hill assist not working, check manual, etc.) and i had to turn off my truck and re-start to pull off the road. the problem happened 3 more times within 2 hrs but this time i was able to track additional metrics (but i moved over to a secondary road with little to no traffic) to relocate to a safe location. the 3 additional stall events were triggered between rpms of 1000 and 2000. as i approached 2000 rpms and/or climbed a slight hill, i could feel the truck begin to loss throttle and if i did not back off on the gas peddle, the truck would stall. i am having my truck towed to a ford dealership but i am at 36,747 miles and just beyond my warranty. i consider this a very danger system failure for a low mileage vehicle.
I purchased my 2015 f150 about a year ago. there is a tsb for a valve on the top of the gas tank. tsb states emission related with warranty covered. ford stating it was built in canada so don't have to warranty in america. vehicle cuts out after stopping and then accelerating. how can ford sell a vehicle to be used in america with a known issue and not be liable? this is a safety concern. tsb 15-0171 engine code p2450.. part number involved is same on canada or american vehicles.
Randomly the hill start assist control error would come up. additionally, service advance trac error would come up and the truck would go into some sort of limp mode with no acceleration allowed. finally, the truck started running really rough. all these things would happen while i was in motion and or turning. i have been broken down on the side of the highway 4 separate times now. everything is really random and can't be replicated. it's done this about 10 times now and the dealer has no idea how to fix it. my truck has been there for over a week with no remedy.
While in motion, at highway speeds on a highway and sometimes slower speeds on town streets too, my truck would suddenly start flashing multiple errors and the throttle would immediately be unresponsive. in 1 second i was dead in the water. the truck would immediately start slowing down due to lack of propulsion and the engine would have a very low rough idle. the throttle would not work at any speed. the only way to recover control of propulsion was to come to a complete stop right where the problem occurred (very dangerous), turn off the vehicle and then restart the vehicle. after restart the problem would completely disappear. until it happened again. this problem appeared 3 times in 1 week, all while the vehicle was traveling uphill. i was lucky to not be in traffic at the time. i took the vehicle to the dealer and they reported the vehicle needed a new throttle body, and that this issue was common and that a recall was not in place. the repair cost is over $500.
Engine goes into limp mode on the road, street or highway with no warning. engine shuts down. dealer installed new throttle body for the third time!
Driving on highway at 60 mph, climbing slight incline, multiple warnings regarding hill assist, abs, traction control, etc. populate on dash. truck goes in to "limp" mode, steering becomes stiff and speed reduces until it comes to a rough idle.
My 2015 3.5 f150 has been experiencing sudden downshifting at random times. typically, it happens once every hundred miles or so and takes the gears from 5 or 6 all the way to 1 or 2 gear at highway speeds. it is scary especially since we are supposed to be pulling a camper across the west for a few months. first the dealership said that it was a throttle body issue so i replaced that. now they are saying that it is spark plugs. apparently, four out of six misfire at the same time randomly which they said would cause the downshift. however, i just had them replaced with new boots three months ago. the issue did start after a dealer transflush but i do not know if it is a coincidence or not.
My 2015 f150 with 100,700 miles on it completely stalled on me while pulling into traffic. i lost all control and had no throttle response and the truck went into idle mode and would not do anything until i put in park and then turned the truck off and then restarted the truck. ran my codes and noticed that it showed a p2112 code which was a fault with the throttle body response. this caused my truck to completely lose all function in the middle of a busy intersection with cross traffic. luckily there were people turning to prevent an 18 wheeler from coming towards me and the speed limit of 55 mph. this is totally unacceptable for this to just shutdown like this and cause serious danger for myself and those driving around me. after reading online it seems that this is a common problem with these throttle body assembly's. this is not ok!!!! i replaced the throttle body myself without paying $800 at the ford dealership. this has to be addressed for safety reasons.
Tl* the contact owns a 2015 ford f-150. while driving 70 mph, the vehicle's throttle completely failed and several unknown warning indicators illuminated. the contact was able to coast the vehicle to the side of the road and restart the vehicle. the vehicle was taken to holmes tuttle ford lincoln (660 w auto mall dr, tucson, az 85705, (866) 930-6255) where it was diagnosed that the throttle body needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 79,500.
While driving on the highway through town at 35mph lost all acceleration, message on the screen said see manual, service advancetrac, hill descent control fault and collision warning not available. stopped in the middle of traffic, could not get off the road. shut vehicle of then on again and drove for half a mile before it did it again. this time i was able to move from traffic and park safely vehicle will idle but not move. this happened ten times in two days in varying traffic conditions
Truck went into limp mode after stopping for a red light. this happened twice one day. dealership said they replaced the throttle body assembly. when in limp it took forever to get through the intersection, long enough that the light changed back to red.
Loss of engine power while driving, code hill assist not available,,sevice advance trac and service engine light comes on
When driving down the road an error will randomly pop up stating 'see manual' then another one pops up stating 'hill descent control fault.' the truck then loses all power. you have to carefully drive off the road (with no power) and stop and then restart. sometimes it will start and be fine, other times the error will appear again. very unsafe if you lose power driving 80mph down the interstate.
Tl* the contact owns a 2015 ford f-150. while driving 60 mph, the vehicle stalled and the engine would not restart. the contact attempted to restart the engine; however, the vehicle began shaking and would not stop. also, 'hill descent control fault' and 'service advancetrac" appeared on the instrument panel. the vehicle was towed to paducah ford (3476 park ave, paducah, ky 42001, (270) 444-0011) where it was diagnosed that a new throttle body needed to be installed. the contact planned to have the vehicle repaired this week. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the vehicle was not included in a recall. the failure mileage was 104,000.
Corroded body control module and wiring. ford technicians unable to diagnose cause. caused vehicle to go into limp mode while driving in an unsafe manner.
Floored throttle to pass slower traffic on highway and engine did not return to normal rpm. instead, the engine continued run at 4,000 rpm until i was able to bring vehicle to a stop and use key to turn off engine. upon restarting all was normal.
While driving my 2015 ford f150 platinum (v6 eco boost) on an hwy (70 mph) the truck encountered loss of pedal response and three warning light as i coasted to a stop in heavy traffic. these three warning lights: hill assist traction control, advanced trac warning indicator, driver assistance indicator. the truck to transition to 'limp' mode (accelerator and power steering doesn't work) which a dangerous and scary. most 'limp' mode incidents have occurred while descending downhill, has occurred seven times so far. i have taken it to the dealer, and they just clear code and say your good ($130 diagnostic fee). then the error occurs the same day. with more online research there a massive problem with the throttle body which causes this to happen. there needs to be a ford recall for this before someone gets hurt.
Engine stalls at idle in park and at stop lights. sometimes it's bad and sometimes not as much or can go days without doing it.
My 2015 f150 ecoboost has 100,000 miles on it. over the past 10 days the truck has repeatedly lost power while driving in traffic on the highway. it happened while going up a hill on a cross-country trip, as well. the rpm drops down to 500 rpm, rough idle, no acceleration at all, hill assist light wrench light check engine light passenger air bag light and see owners manual pop up on the instrument panel (limp mode). pulled off to side of road and had to stop and re-start the truck several times before we could continue our trip. i checked codes and logged a p2112. after some online research, i cleaned the throttle body. looked online and youtube to discover this problem is not just me and frequently happens to others. this is a safety issue and could result in an accident. the truck should not enter limp mode for a minor issue like this. luckily i was able to safely get over on the shoulder each time. i recently had my truck in for a recall and pcm software update. the rear differential went about a week after the update, and now the loss of power. (see https://youtu.be/hxqvxxejzqo)
My 2015 f150 ecoboost has 79,156 miles on it. over the past 3 days the truck has repeatedly lost power while driving in traffic on the highway. the rpm will drop down to 500 rpm, rough idle, no acceleration at all, hill assist light wrench light check engine light passenger air bag light and see owners manual pop up on the instrument panel. took my truck into ford today and they replaced the throttle body under my extende warranty not their emissions warranty as stated in their owners manual of 8 years or 80,000 miles. called ford and they don't know about an emissions warranty in their owners manual. looked online and youtube to discover this problem is not just me and frequent with others. this can really cause a horrible accident. luckily i'm a cdl driver and was able to safely get over on the shoulder this time. i'm not confident replacing the throttle body was a fix as it is a bandage to happen again at any point in time. this truck now is compromised and i wouldn't want any of my family using it or depending on it.
Tl* the contact owns a 2015 ford f-150. while driving 75 mph, a rattling noise was detected and the vehicle vibrated violently while decreasing in speed. the downhill descent control active warning indicator illuminated. the vehicle was taken to summerville ford (9700 dorchester rd, summerville, sc 29485, (877) 477-1434) where it was diagnosed that the throttle body needed to be replaced and reprogrammed. the vehicle was repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 100,000.
2015 f-150 3.5l ecoboost driving on highway at speeds 60-75mph went to "limp mode" losing all acceleration with warnings "service advance trac" "hill descent control fault" and "hill start assist not available" along with the service wrench light. resulted having to pull over on interstate 10 with busy traffic, also while in the middle of a traffic light turning left. this has happened 6 times. ford dealer has diagnosed this as a throttle body issue and will be replaced at my cost
A/c compressor and evaporator assembly failed on a 2015 truck with 50k miles! just out of the blue the a/c compressor started making a loud noise and subsequently failed very shortly thereafter. had to get it replaced. in connection with this problem, the evaporator assembly failed as well and was leaking freon into the cabin of the vehicle. had to get that replaced. $2k worth of repairs - unbelievable. a simple google search shows this to be a common issue - this needs to be recalled!
Truck unexpectedly lost power while driving on state highway. dash lit up with service advancetrac, hill descent fault, see manual, airbag fault, and the service wrench. immediately went into limp mode. turned engine off, restarted and continued driving.
3 series of incidents involving the same problem. in january of 2018 i identified a problem where the engine just dies under acceleration and 3 different warnings appear 1) hill climb assist error 2) service advance trac system 3) service engine, see owners manual. on jan 10, 2018 dealer could not find problem. situation happened again in early april of 2018 and this time they identified the throttle body. it was replaced and issue seemed to be resolved. issue resurfaced again on dec 7th 2018 almost causing a serious traffic accident. appointment scheduled with dealership on wed dec 12 2018. all 3 occurrences almost resulted in accidents one nearly a broadside as i turned left across traffic when the engine died. i'm very concerned that this could result in serious injury or even death and ford is aware of the issue according to the dealer service person. this was reported after earlier incident and the complaint number is 11083485
I was on the highway and the hill start assist/traction control lights started coming on. a few hundred miles later, more dash lights started flashing and then all dash lights went off and the truck lost all power. i could no longer accelerate. after a moment, it started working again. after a few more miles, it did it again, and this time when it powered down, the abs break system went on and created a terrible grinding noise and brought me to a stop on the side of the highway. i limped it on the side of the highway, trying to find an exit, and the truck repeatedly did the lights flashing/power down/breaks applied several more times at low speed. the nearest exit was about 10 miles, so i had to continue to do this for some time. once i was at an exit, i disconnected the battery for about 20 minutes. when i re-connected the battery and started the truck, everything seemed fine, but now the check engine light was on. i decided to just risk it and keep driving, so that i could get home. about 100 miles later it started doing the same thing again. i was close enough to home to get off the highway and take back roads home. it did it a few more times and then quit doing it. this was a very dangerous situation, as my truck basically stopped while i was on the highway going 70 mph, and could have caused a serious accident, and left me no option but to either be broken down on the side of the highway or drive at very low speeds on the shoulder. the ford dealer that i took the truck to told me that they can't replicate the issue and all diagnostics come back clean, so they are not able to fix anything. others online that have had the same/similar issue have said that ford said that it is a damaged throttle body that needs to be replaced, but the dealership that i went to did not suggest that as the cause.
Truck goes into limp mode constant in middle of traffic. severe safety hazard for all. throws throttle body code. according to dealer its not covered in yhe recall or whatever ford called it but its gonna get us killed.
While driving on the freeway the vehicle shuts down and the hill descent control light came on and then the engine light. this happened 3 times, i took it to autozone to be tested and the error code - p2112 throttle actuator control system- throttle body needs to be changed. after researching, i came to find out this is happening to thousands of ford vehicles. ford had a recall on some vehicles for this, but if your make and model was not on there they will not cover the cost. ford knows this is a dangerous problem, but will not issue a recall. it is only a matter of time (if not happened already) that there will be a fatality due to this body throttle issue. we as consumers should not have to worry about our vehicle randomly dying on the roads, worry about killing someone else or our own families just to commute. ford should be ashamed of themselves.
Tl* the contact owns a 2015 ford f-150. while driving 30 mph, the vehicle stalled and failed to accelerate. the contact stated that the failure also occurred while driving 60 mph. the vehicle was taken to jim bass ford (4032 w houston harte expy, san angelo, tx 76901, (325) 949-4621) where it was diagnosed that the failure was due to the throttle body. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was contacted. the approximate failure mileage was 70,300. *tt*jb
While driving in traffic, the engine abruptly cut to a rough idle and throttle became unresponsive. warnings to service advancetrac and hill start assist popped up. i coasted to a stop, which was dangerous in traffic. i turned the engine off, then restarted twice and vehicle then behaved normally. the same problem recurred the following day. this is a repeat of a problem that occurred early in the life of the truck and that was fixed by the dealer under warranty by replacing the throttle body. this time i bought and replaced the throttle body myself and have fixed the problem. loss of engine power in traffic is a dangerous event. the fact that this is the second failure of the throttle body in my vehicle suggests that the problem is not under control by the manufacturer.
While driving my truck (typically at moderate speeds - 20 - 30mph) it will suddenly reduce rpms to about 500 and the speed will drop to around 5 mph. simultaneously with that occurring i will receive the following warning indicators "hill start assist not available" then another warning "hill descent control fault" then another warning "service advancetrac" then "see manual". this happens typically while accelerating and has occurred on city streets as well as while merging on a highway on ramp (bad situation). the resolution is to turn the car off an let it sit for a second then start it and drive slowly. this is widely documented across the internet with no identified cause and constitutes a severe safety hazard.
2015 ford f-150 ecoboost, bought april 2018 with approx. 67,000 miles, currently at approx. 75,000 miles. i am reporting the sudden loss of accelerating power as the vehicle shudders and stalls both when moving with traffic or accelerating to enter or move with traffic. multiple warning messages including the wrench light flash in the dash message area as the engine slows to idle with no ability to accelerate and comes to a stuttering stop. the first occurrence was three weeks ago and has happened no less than six time since - twice while accelerating onto the freeway (very busy, very fast traffic) and twice while crossing or turning in multi-lane intersections from stopped. four of the six times resulted in my vehicle dying in and obstructing traffic with and me barely getting to the side of the road without an accident. i now shift to neutral to let momentum move the vehicle as i worm through traffic to the side of the road. shutting off and restarting the engine clears or resets the message and sometimes "downhill assist not available" with the check engine light comes on. the check engine light has both stayed on or shut off on restart. i can then drive on the vehicle's own power, though the problem has repeated as soon as two minutes later, or not for days. i have not had to be towed and no accidents have occurred. the north carolina consumer's council filed a lawsuit against ford in 2015 which was settled with ford offering an extended warranty only on the etb (electronic throttle body) of certain model vehicles - all with the ecoboost engine, and multiple customer service actions (csa's) that have since expired. a few minutes on the ford forums online and it is apparent that this is a widespread problem with the ecoboost engine, and ford has offered several bandaids, but none until after the etb has failed and lives been endangered. *tr
Engine abruptly dropped to a rough idle with no throttle response while in traffic. display console reported 'service advancetrac' and other warnings. i managed to coast to the side of the road. i shut off and restarted the engine and was able to drive normally. the same symptom repeated the next day. this is a repeat of the same symptom that occurred at about 17000 miles. at that time the dealer replaced the throttle body under warranty. this time the vehicle was out of warranty, so i replaced the throttle body myself and fixed the problem. i subsequently disassembled the old throttle body to see if i could identify the root cause of the problem. as an experienced electronic engineer, i have a better shot at doing this than many. upon disassembly, i noticed black discoloration on the connector to the motor that controls the throttle. the material of that connector appears to be tin or a tin alloy; the black is likely an oxide that can cause an open circuit. this looks like a phenomenon called 'fretting' that can occur in connectors when vibration is present. the usual fix is to change to gold plated contacts, and/or ensure continued lubrication of the contacts. i've attached an article on 'fretting' for reference. based on the fact that this problem was not permanently fixed by the first replacement of the throttle body, it appears that ford has not implemented a design change to manage it. it's likely that the problem will recur and require repeated fixes. this is dangerous in traffic because it's not always possible to coast to a safe location with a non-functioning engine.
While driving there is rattling inside of the steering column that started a few months back. now my alternator seems to not be working properly and the truck will only crank when i have all extras off (radio, ac, etc.) i also have to pump the gas for some reason for it to turn over completely. otherwise it just dies. never had a problem until last week when it wouldn't turn over at all. my battery is pulling 13.9 v and i have checked the connections. for a truck to be 3 years old and already need a new alternator appalls me. there is something else going on and the rattling in the steering column is somehow related to me having problems cranking the truck.

Throttle body problem at 36,999 miles. went into "limp" mode with no warning while driving normally in a 45 mph street with busy traffic. i was very lucky it did not cause an accident.
Vehicle suddenly lost power while driving in traffic. display slowed traction control malfunction, hill assist malfunction and engine trouble light illuminated. loss of power steering and brakes. once vehicle was shut off it then restarted a minute later as if nothing happened.
Tl* the contact owns a 2015 ford f-150. the contact took the vehicle to signature ford lincoln (1960 e main st, owosso, mi 48867, (800) 364-2868) for an oil change and was informed that there was an 80% leakage from the oil pan. there were also additional oil leaks coming from the front cover. the manufacturer offered only a partial refund of $500 for the repairs, but the total repair cost was over $1,800. the manufacturer later offered a $700 refund. the vehicle was repaired. the failure mileage was 77,918.
2015 f150 2.7l ecoboost 31,908 miles... upon merging into traffic truck suddenly surges, followed by audible bang then abruptly loses all power "no driving conditions out of the ordinary, not under hard acceleration." warning lights on the dash light up and i have no control of vehicle. luckily i was fortunate to not have much traffic around me at the time and promptly coasted into a deserted parking lot to call my dealership. i am afraid to drive my truck now for fear of causing an accident due to mechanical/electrical failure, i don't want to die and don't want to put anyone it that position either. dealer replaced the throttle body and says its ok to drive yet the throttle body they used as a replacement is no different then the one that failed how can that be safe? i'd like them to trust a truck that ceased all essential operations (brakes, acceleration, power steering) with a wife and kids in the vehicle during morning rush hour in the fourth largest city in the united states with speeding drivers who don't pay attention to the road in front of them, then we will talk. this is a huge safety concern and a known problem with many other ford vehicles!!! fix it before someone gets hurt or dies as a result! do the right thing and hold the manufactures responsible its why we have the nhtsa. how is there not a massive recall with the eco boost engines in regards to the faulty throttle body, anything less is unacceptable. does someone have to die first?
Brakes went out while driving. brake fluid keeps disappearing. brake fluid has leaked into the intake and caused massive amounts of smoke from the exhaust, the master cylinder failed at only 42k miles.
