My f-150 has had 2 turbos in 1 year go bad on it, causing me to not be able to accelerate at highway speeds. losing gas mileage and coolant also. my tire sensor has also gone bad on the truck and caused me to over inflate it.
At times my 2015 f150 loses all power and go to a low power/ "limp mode" setting. cautions received are (1) service advance trac, (2) hill descent control fault, (3) hill start assist not avail, (4) traaction control fault light. when this occurs, the vehicle goes to a very low forward power setting (<5mph), runs extremely rough to the point where the vehicle shakes aggressively. this problem is intermittent in nature, and yesterday was the final straw. this suddent oss of power occurred on a busy road and i nearly got rear ended. i immediately limped off the road and was able to get the vehicle towed to the dealership in castle rock, co. currently i'm standing by for the mechanics diagnosis. of note, i do see several similar write-ups of this problem on the nhtsa site regarding the 2015 f150. ironically, a similar occurrence (ref. nhstsa id#11083485) happened right up the road from me in castle rock, co (4/5/18). i hope ford is aware of this extremely dangerous, recurring problem within its f150 fleet.
We had a throttle body issue this summer and had to have it replaced and towed. during driving, we lost all power, major safety issue! when i asked ford about it, they said they didn't know about the issue; however they issued several recalls regarding this. this truck isn't in the recall, which makes no sense. it is evident that ford has a major issue with their throttle bodies i have spoken with ford several times, they are not helpful and are refusing to pay for this.
Tl* the contact owns a 2015 ford f-150. while driving unknown speeds, the vehicle stalled. when the vehicle was restarted, it operated normally. the failure occurred multiple times. the vehicle was taken to billion auto ford of clear lake (3101 willow creek ct, clear lake, ia 50428, (641) 903-2299) where it was diagnosed that the throttle body and motor assembly failed. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was informed of the failure. the failure mileage was 84,129.
Something attached to the crankshaft cracked and now the entire engine is being replaced

Truck stalls due to throttle body actuator sticking. vehicle becomes disabled/stalled and applies the brakes. occurs without notice at any speed. occurs on highway, city streets, and dirt roads. requires throttle body replacement. similar recalls did occur for the ford throttle body for other models and years (e.g. 13n03 program). dealer indicates it is not covered under powertrain warranty (although it should be) and costs $600 to replace.
Vehicle lost power and flashed 3 warning messages. 1) hill start assist not available. 2) see manual. 3) service advance trac. in addition the service engine light stays on. all of this happened while i was making a left turn in traffic almost causing a collision. this is the second time it has happened. after first time dealer was contacted and service department reported no problems found. appointment currently scheduled to look at it again.
On freeway when lost acceleration. indicator on dash said up hill assist not available and after clinking okay it then read service advance trac with the mechanic wrench showing. i'm on the shoulder of freeway, in park, and engine running rough as if on only two cylinders. i went ahead and put it back in drive and there was not throttle and trans would not kick in. turned key off ready to call tow truck but went ahead and restarted the truck and issue cleared itself so we moved down the road. there is still an underlying issue, as i am told by my ford service writer, the etb needs to be replaced and from what i see online this is not an uncommon issue with the etb and f150. this is a major concern and i was fortunate i was not towing my travel trailer at time which could have had major issue getting to side of freeway safely without power, if not rear ended. shouldn't there be a recall because of safety? ford is selling f150 eb as quality tow vehicle although this could get someone hurt or even worse. don't get me wrong, i am very pleased with the f150 eco boost and its performance but this issue needs to be addressed by ford! and not at customer expense!
While driving my truck it began to sputter and then the engine stopped completely. i was just shy of a busy intersection and had no power. the error message was "driver hill assist not available" which did not correlate to the problem at all. the engine light was also illuminated. after getting the truck to the ford service center they found the electronic throttle body (etb) had failed. i have 50,000 miles on the vehicle. the shop said that they normally do not stock many parts but this was one they always keep in stock. the technician claimed he had seen 20+ failures in the fast year. research on line indicated that there is more than 60,000 complaints in ford vehicles regarding the failure of this etb. there was action initiated by the nhts and a recall was waived provided that ford extend warranty for this part. that did not happen in my case. my bill was $604.92 more importantly i could have lost power in the middle of that intersection or during a long drive home where no cell reception was possible. i was lucky to have broken down in a town with a ford service center before my 3.5 hour trip back to denver. fyi, i called ford customer care and they said that i was not part of a "customer satisfaction program"... interesting choice of words, because i didn't feel like i was part of anything at ford nor were they concerned about this issue. in fact, they claimed it was not a significant problem.
Sadly, we feel we have purchased a lemon occasionally engine or transmission squeals/grinds, if accelerate too quickly/power up.,and now, on cold days [temps low 40s & under] hear rubbing/grinding whirring at left front tire? gets louder when depress brake, and can feel in brake pedal. sound occurs during slow forward speed 2-40 mph, on gravel driveway or paved road. scheduled service today for noise; they were more interested in fixing recall item [locks - rpr time 3+hrs], if they had parts in stock. recall srvc completed [under 1 hr], and "no noise was heard." i requested further look for cause of noise, service advisor said quick lane would check suspension?. 2 hrs later, nothing seen, nothing heard, nothing repaired. as i pulled away from dealership, having signed off on service, the truck immediately began making the noise [funny serv advsr didn't hear when he brought truck around?]. i drove less than 1/10 mile back to dealership, took the service advisor for ride; at which point he acknowledged he heard noise, but tried to assure me it's a 'tire issue.' my husband and i believe otherwise - this is not tire noise, the noise never crescendos or changes pitch with increase or decrease speed, on gravel or asphalt, and we have never felt 'tire noise' in brake pedal. this noise/friction merely ceases after you've driven a few minutes [for now]. service advisor assured me i was not doing any further damage to truck, continuing to drive it without resolution to the problem. i asked him if i needed new tires, he said indeed not, mine are in great shape [original tires] with 63,000 miles on them [but it's a tire issue?]. something's up [similar concerns have been raised in forums on the internet- along with dealer dismissal/failure to resolve. we want our truck repaired [resolution of these mechanical failures] while it's under warranty, or we want a new vehicle.
Throttle body failed causing the truck to enter limp mode several times while driving almost causing a crash by being rear ended by oncoming traffic when trying to enter a hwy or interstate hwy. multiple electronic module failures since new. truck is a death trap.
While driving on the highway at 75 mph the truck shuttered violently and the engine shut down. immediately it flashed a warning that the "hill climb assist" malfunctioned followed immediately by a wrench symbol notifying that service was needed then another warning about the advance trac system then back to the hill climb assist symbol. all of this happening while the car behind me is almost sideways trying to avoid me. i eventually made it to the right shoulder of the highway. as i read the various warnings it said to refer to the owners manual with regards to the hill climb assist. i turned the ignition off, pulled out the owners manual only to find a description of the hill climb assist feature. after waiting for about 5 minutes i decided to turn on the ignition. the truck started without issue and i continued home cautiously in the far right lane.
Tl* the contact owned a 2015 ford f-150. after 15 minutes of being parked in a parking lot, the vehicle caught fire around the front end. the failure occurred without warning. the fire department extinguished the fire. there were no injuries and a police report was not filed. the vehicle was destroyed. the vehicle was not taken to the dealer. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not contacted. the approximate failure mileage was 25,000.
I would like to highlight safety concern on ford f-150 intake throttle failures. i believe there has been a recall on this part for a different s/n range of ford f-150. this vin was not in the list. when this fails, you lose all power and truck goes into neutral. was towing loaded trailer in 4 lanes of high speed interstate city driving. almost was in serious accident. ford customer service did nothing or indicate that they were going to look at s/n range impacted. i am a chief engineer at caterpillar. i understand the business of effective s/n and what is included in mandatory recalls. their lack of action is a concern.
I have a 2015 f150 king ranch with the 3.5l ecoboost. it has 41,000 miles and never had an issue until yesterday morning and today around lunch. this was from yesterday 10/23/17: hill descent control fault service advancetrac hill start assist not available i was pulling out onto a highway and the truck began shaking violently, moving very slow with no acceleration, power steering was lost, and the dashboard was showing all the above errors. luckily there were no vehicles coming when i entered the highway and there was a place to safely pull off the highway. the truck continues to idle rough and shake violently. and today 10/24/17: i was driving down the interstate at 70 mph when the truck did the same thing as yesterday morning. i was able to pull off the side of the highway and shut off the motor. once i restarted the engine, i was able to get it to the local ford dealership. they say they have no idea why it would be doing this and have not heard anything from ford or seen this in other f150's they have serviced. update: the dealership claims the fix is in a faulty electronic throttle body and they replaced it at a whopping price of $770. a simple google search shows ford has issues with etb's across vehicles of all classes and knows about it. in fact, some consumers seem to be involved in lawsuits against ford because of their unwillingness to issue a recall before someone is fatally injured. these were scary, scary situations with my vehicle and thank god my wife and kids were not with me. there is obviously an issue and ford needs to correct it at their expense.
Tl* the contact owns a 2015 ford f-150. while driving approximately 45 mph, the vehicle suddenly decelerated and would not gain speed when the accelerator pedal was depressed. during the failure, the messages and warning indicators for the hill start not available, traction control, and check engine displayed and illuminated. after shutting the engine off and back on, the vehicle operated normally; however, the failure recurred two days later. the vehicle was taken to jemmims anderson ford in boerne, tx where it was diagnosed that the throttle body was faulty and needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the vin was not available. the failure mileage was 47,000.
Tl* the contact owns a 2015 ford f-150. while driving 80 mph, the vehicle shook violently and lost power. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the electronic throttle body failed and needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the vehicle was then taken to team ford lincoln (5445 drexel rd, las vegas, nv 89130) where the diagnosis was confirmed. the vehicle was repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the contact should keep his receipts in case of potential reimbursement. the approximate failure mileage was 79,000.
Defective electronic throttle body causing "limp home" mode . i was driving home pulling my camper up a large bridge in michigan during heavy traffic condition and the truck went into limp mode causing loss or power to tow the camper up and over the bridge. i alsmost created a serious accident with people slamming brakes behind my when i went from 70 mph to 0 in less then 150 ft. it has since happened several more times. i took it to a dealer and they knew exactly what the issue was and charged me 200.00 for deductible on the repair. i see all over the web that this is a known issue and ford is doing nothing about it. when this occurs you feel a little lag in the performance when you press on the gas pedal for a second or two. the the hill decent warning will light up followed by the traction control fail light. the vehicle will then slow down to under 5mph and engine will re running very rough. you can shut the vehicle off and restart to get you further down the road but as times goes on this will continue to get worse and then happen every mile or so. here is a great video someone did on the issue to capture the problem. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cfdenhjmq84
Tl* the contact owns a 2015 ford f-150. while making a right turn at a stop sign, the vehicle experienced stalling, a loss of engine power, and severe vibration. all of the vehicle's warning indicators illuminated. the vehicle was towed to folsom lake ford where it was diagnosed that the throttle body caused the vehicle to go into limp home mode and would need to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired; however, the vehicle experienced a leaking driver side turbo and a blown solenoid. the manufacturer was notified of the failure and started the process of vehicle buy back. the failure mileage was approximately 52,000. *tr
On 2/23/2017 while driving 50-55 mph on an expressway, the vehicle throttle became unresponsive. the tachometer still showed about 1,000 rpms, dash lights began illuminating, advancetrac was disabled, hill start assist was disabled, the wrench light enabled and a check manual light enabled. there also was a hard shift or clunk sound that came from the transmission. after shifting the truck into neutral while coasting, i attempted to turn off and restart the engine. engine successfully restarted, but the throttle remained unresponsive and all warning lights mentioned above returned. i pulled the truck safely to the side of the highway, and attempted to restart again. this time the engine sputtered and then i turned it off. next i removed the key, opened the door, closed the door, locked the truck, waited for the accessory lights to turn off, unlocked the truck, opened and closed the door and then restarted, and the truck seemed to clear the problem. i took the truck to the dealer and they later told me the truck is not storing any error codes in it's memory.
On three occasions now while accelerating the vehicle suddenly looses all power. there have been audible warning sounds and check engine lights, also messages such as hill assist not available. on all occasions i was turning on to a street from a complete stop and accelerating. turning off the engine seems to correct the problem. i have brought the vehicle to the dealer twice now.
Tl* the contact owns a 2015 ford f-150. while the vehicle was undergoing an oil change, the dealer noticed that oil was leaking onto the skid plate. there were no warning indicators illuminated. it was diagnosed that the oil pan failed and needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the vin was unknown. the failure mileage was approximately 24,000.
On friday 10/28 while driving down the interstate at about 55 miles/hour at approximately 6:30pm with vehicles ahead of and behind my truck, the vehicle began to give a number of check engine alerts, at which time the engine rpms dropped to very low levels and began to stall and the accelerator no longer responded. had truck towed to the nearest dealership within the hour. i was very lucky in this situation, for had i been in a construction area or on a bridge, the situation could have been much worse. this same situation occurred on the evening of 10/2 while driving 40mph down a state road near my home and according to the dealer who attended to the issue, the brake module had failed which caused the symptoms to arise. in that instance, the accelerate failed to respond and the engine began to stall, which it did when i pulled to the side of the road. they replaced the module a few days later. in addition, the driver side door vibrates and does not latch properly. two dealers have failed to resolve this issue to date and i believe it is a safety concern that has largely been dismissed by the service technicians and dealerships involved. despite numerous documented attempts to resolve this issue with ford customer service, they have ignored this concern, have failed to respond to me in a timely manner, and declined a buyback request. i am submitting lemon law documentation for the vehicle during the week of october 31. i have spent hundreds of dollars on rental vehicles during attempted repairs to the doors and the brake module since ford claims they will not cover the cost of rental vehicles during warranty repairs. repair documentation attached pertains to repairs for 10/2 occurrence since the dealership has not yet had an opportunity to inspect my vehicle since it was dropped off yesterday evening. i will gladly provide info once received.
Driving the ford f150 (v6 ecoboost) on a city street (35 mph) it has failed at random times (i've now seen this issue more than 3 times) usually with 3 major failures. these 3 failures (1) engine, transmission, and emissions 2) brakes & suspension 3) restratins & driver assistance) cause the truck to transition to 'limp' mode which can actually be just as hazardous. if i'm turning onto a road with a 55+ mph speed limit i need to accelerate but if this system fails, along with the restraints & driver assistance, this could be a very dangerous and life threatening situation. the reason why is that the restraints & driver assistance goes off now disabling my airbags, etc. and if i now get hit (because now i'm in limp mode going about 7 mph) i have lost a great deal of 'built-in' protection without the airbags. translate that to driving on a highway and encountering this situation and you can see that loss of life is not out of the question. i've taken the truck back to ford for the warranty work and they say they believe it's an electronic throttle body controller that has gone bad and needs to be replaced but right now it's at least 3 weeks before they can get a replacement part. compounding this issue is that ford had issued an internal recall for v8's built at the same plant as my v6 ecoboost truck for the same type of issue.
the issues started around mid july 2016 with about 11-12k miles. i was turning onto a side road where doing maybe 10 mph and the engine stalled, it restarted while in motion and i continued. the hill start assist and advance trac warning lights came on. later that week it happened repeatedly. the dealership here in town (not where i bought it) looked at it for a few days, they thought it was because of, "all the after market stuff (radio etc) i had (professionally) installed". they believed it was the power converter so they replaced the converter when it came in (the 110v converter) i got my stereo stuff reconnected and kept driving it. then the engine would not stall, but the warning lights would flash advance trac and hill assist. after a few days, it began to stall again, almost getting me hit pulling onto a road with 50mph traffic. the truck died, and wouldn't "restart" itself. so here i am parked on a two multilane 50mph roadway trying to start my truck without getting killed. it also happened again while pulling off this same road into a side street with a big ass rv coming at me, i was able to coast into the side street and then restart the truck. i brought the truck back in and they said that it might be the throttle body. so, i got my truck back today with the throttle body replaced. i go to drive away and my head unit/ display will not illuminate properly. i thought it was dimmed, but it wasn't. so i drive in a circle to bring it back and it illuminates like it should. so i leave and i drive back down the main 50 mph road and while accelerating away from a stop light there, the advance trac and hill assist lights flash on again. i take it right back and it is now there getting looked at again.
Tl* the contact owns a 2015 ford f-150. while driving at different speeds and attempting to make a turn, the advance trac control light illuminated, which caused the vehicle to slow down. the failure was not diagnosed. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 7,300.
Throttle body failure - 2015, f150 in motion, stopping for red light. following red light truck had minimal power, just enough to limp to side of road. thankfully not in atlanta, ga traffic but dayton, tn traffic. turned vehicle off and restarted engine and drove 2 blocks to ford dealership "service department" where i purchased the new f150 xl 6 months earlier (12,000 miles). told service manager wrench light appeared along with advance trac warning light. service technicians unable to duplicate problem on computer or test drives. even though they had seen the same problem before "ford motor company " would not allow them to repair it unless they were able to duplicate the problem. i contacted regional service manager for east tennessee, i stated to her this was not a local dealership problem, financial problem or was it a warranty problem (12k of 36k). this was a safety problem. again she stated if they couldn't duplicate it by driving or computer diagnostic test they couldn't fix it. i also spoke to her superior he apologized but they cannot fix a problem they cannot duplicate. after threatening a to contact my lawyer, which did not phase her. i picked up my truck and was heading to another local dealership to trade it in, because ford said their was not a problem with it. when it "duplicated" the same problem within 15 minutes of leaving the dealership. it is now back at the dealership, after a technician was sent to hook up a computer while vehicle was running along side the road. had to use road side assistance to get back. will never purchase another ford. my belief after reading other post on this site ford does not care about customer satisfaction or safety.
Tl* the contact owns a 2015 ford f-150. the contact stated that while driving at 70 mph, the vehicle abruptly decelerated. the wrench and limp mode warning lights illuminated while the failure occurred. the contact was able to coast on to the road shoulder and restarted the engine however; the vehicle did not regain acceleration. the vehicle was towed to the dealer whom performed a diagnostic that located a failure code at the throttle body. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 76,000.
10,600 miles on this new 2015 ford f-150 ecoboost 3.7 engine. while driving home from work at 5:15pm on highway 84, the truck lost all power and coasted to a stop in heavy traffic. the truck shook and vibrated, the engine light, anti slip and tool icon light all came on. the truck showed the engine was at 1000 rpm but would not move or react to my pushing the gas petal. i was able to turn off and the truck and restart to get moving again before it repeated the same events 5 more times. i was able to get on a service road and limp i the truck home. the truck dying with highway speeds is deadly. $45,000 2015 ford f-150 supercrew 4x4 10,600 miles
The throttle body failed while traveling on i-94 in a single lane construction zone during a severe rainstorm. the throttle body is a part that controls the air intake on the engine and when it fails the engine loses power and cannot pull a trailer. the engine does not stall, but it does shudder enough to shake the vehicle. i turned the vehicle off and upon restart could move out of traffic. this occurred two more times till i could make it to a dealership. this is a known problem and the part is backordered due to demand. when this part fails it could put the driver and other vehicles in a life situation as i was without an area to pull off and semis on the road with poor visibility. i have been waiting at a dealership for 3 days for the part stuck in my trailer and no known timeframe for when the part will arrive. learned this morning that the part was shipping was canada, but no delivery timeframe.
Windshield cowl panels leak rain water into top of the engine where the two cowl pieces meet in the middle. i suspect looking at other 2015 and 2016 f150 models they have or will have the issue of leaking water onto the engine. besides possible corrosion or damage to engine, this could cause the engine to stall and maybe a safety problem.
2015 ford f-150. consumer writes in regards to several defects with vehicle. *ld the consumer stated there were multiple instances where the vehicle stalled, the check engine light illuminated. the steering gear, steering shaft, steering wheel needed to be replaced. the consumer blew the horn and a whole was punctured in the steering wheel. the wrench light illuminated. there was a fluid leak from the rear left axle. the shutter grille actuator became unplugged. *js

The first time i noticed the problem was when i went to pass another vehicle. i did a hard acceleration to pass and my 2015 f150 3.5 ecoboost engine stalled in the passing lane on a 2 lane highway. i was doing 45 mph. i immediately got back into my lane behind the vehicle i was passing. after that incident i have occasionally accelerated hard to see if the engine would stall. sometimes it would stall and sometimes it would not. i took it back to the ford dealer and they replaced the throttle pack but it still stalls. they are at a loss on what is causing this erratic acceleration problem. they say they have not had any service bulletins from ford relating to this. this happened not long after i purchased the vehicle with less than 2000 miles on it. i now have 18000 miles on it and this problem has been ongoing since i bought it. the dealer and i have been waiting to see if ford will offer a solution but so far they have done nothing.
This vehicle has the 'stop/start feature;' which actually shuts off the engine when at a stop and is supposed to 'restart' when the gas pedal is depressed; the 'electrical systems' are supposed to be operative; how power brakes are 'electrically operated' is beyond my comprehension; however, a few days after purchase i was at a stop lite when the engine shut off, and eventually re-started' by itself; the dealer sales staff never informed me of this 'feature,' and also did not tell me there was an 'override switch on the dash; the fact that i did not override it, and that the engine did not restart when the gas pedal was depressed, to me means that this 'feature' is, on this vehicle, inoperative, and therefore inherently dangerous and life threatening; my wife refuses to drive it, and it was towed in to the dealer on 12/21/15, where it remains; i refuse to drive it as well; lastly, the vehicle exhibited no 'stop/start feature' upon a pre-purchase test drive with the salesman in which we made numerous 'stops' and a friend of mine was with me on that test drive, who will attest to this fact; likewise, it did not have any 'problems' until almost three weeks later, during which time i drove the vehicle daily.
New 2015 f150 with a vibration/ shudder coming from what feels like the transfer case or possibly the drive shaft. happens when trying to shift from gear to gear, and on inclines...feels like it is going to stall. also happens when just cruising at certain speeds. i've had it to the dealer twice and they say everything is fine but they have felt the same problem with this vehicle and ones on their lot. vibration could lead to more serious problem and actually stall the vehicle while in traffic.
Total loss of power while driving. at 3022 miles the engine cut off while at 40-50mph. a smart data link was replaced. at 3619 miles the engine cut off again while accelerating at 40-50 mph. both incidents happened within 5 minutes of starting the engine. several alerts pop up on the screen to include loss of braking, hill assist, and service engine. first repair was for 10 days. current repair is 3 days and counting. currently i am aware of another f150 with the ecoboost 2.7 engine having the same problems with several attempts to fix.
New 2015 f150, accelerates and decelerates on its own. brakes create loud noise. wiring harness as it relates to the shifting of the truck was replaced within the first six months as well. auto off frequently refuses to restart. loss of complete power on highway.
Truck shudders as transmission torque converter clutch attempts to lock up in third and fifth gear at light throttle position when shifting upward. this vehicle has the 2.7l engine with the auto stop/start feature. with this feature disabled the engine attempts to stall after stopping as if the feature is trying to override the off switch. after coming to a rolling stop and then trying to accelerate into traffic the engine will bog down and then a split second later feel as if it is going to full throttle without me depressing the throttle further. the engine speed surges when attempting to lightly accelerate and maintain speed with the flow of traffic. -ford needs to give owners the option to turn off the auto stop/start permanently. i was not informed this feature could not be removed when i purchased this vehicle. the dealer attempted to shut it off and only succeeded in disabling the remote start feature. i will never buy another vehicle with the auto stop/start annoyance.
After morning startup, vehicle stumbled, hesitated on acceleration into traffic. vehicle stalled after approximately driving 1 mile. would re-start, only idle, then stall when put into drive and attempted to re-enter traffic. i had towed to closest ford dealership for warranty repairs. my vehicle was returned over two weeks later. the service invoice outlined that the low pressure fuel pump was found bad, shorted and connecting plug to harness melted. they replaced fuel pump and repaired harness plug. vehicle was not fixed. over the two week period the vehicle was at the dealership, the fuel pump driver, body control module, and last the engine control module was replaced to repair the problem. my major concern is the melted fuel pump plug. i would think there would be adequate fusible link protection to keep this kind of problem from happening especially when affecting an in tank fuel pump. this might lead to fuel fires and also accidents due to loss of power from the engine. i was fortunate to be able to safely get my vehicle on the road shoulder, and then onto a side street with minimal traffic. another issue is that one device failure creating failures in multiple vehicle control systems that would cost the consumer thousands of dollars out of warranty to repair. i was told that a ford field engineer was sent to assist the dealership, after his visit, the ecm was replaced which made the vehicle functional again. adequate overcurrent protection on the fuel pump should have prevented damaging the other critical parts. ford has put a lot of these vehicles on the road with the fuel efficiency new engineering as a major marketing tool. i fear the vehicle may have been rushed to production with inherent flaws that could be a danger to owners and the public.
