Car continuously dies or stalls while driving. my wife has also been almost rear ended or hit multiple times due to this issue. because the car will die while making a turn or at a stop light. the car will also cut out while driving on the freeway at 75 mph. the car will sometimes die and will not re-start leaving her stuck in traffic. i have taken the vehicle multiple times to the dealership as well as other mechanics and they keep telling me its the pcm which has been replace three times.
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 chrysler 300c. on several occasions, after the vehicle was refueled, it stalled. there was no warning prior to the failure. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. harry blackwell dodge chrysler jeep ram (1660 business 60 west, dexter, mo 63841) was contacted by phone at (866) 980-9548. the manufacturer was not notified. the approximate failure mileage was 100,000.
Car will cut off all system and stop when driving ,i fear car behind will run into me causing serous injuries and death.car will stop in motion, city street highway it dosents matter .car has less then 40000.m
After filling this vehicle with fuel as you drive down the road it will just stall in traffic. it takes quite a few tries to get it running again. up to 10 times. this is very dangerous as this will happen in intersections or turning in traffic with no warning. it happens while in motion and when it shuts off there is limited steering and brakes.
Car shuts down after getting a full tank at gas station at least 2 times
Engine completely shut off as exiting freeway and was nearly hit by 2 cars. managed to get home by driving streets and staying in righthand lane. shut off twice but pulled to side of rode. it took approximately 4 seconds for ignition to engage. it is in garage and i am afraid for my life to drive it. i am [xxx] years old and will not give up on this because it is a danger to ones life. i went online to airpark chrysler and texted with a nicole on february 15, 2019 and she said someone from in the service department would get back with me and no one has. please help me with this dangerous problem. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tt
Once the vehicle has a full tank of gas, it'll stall or shut off when driving. when stopped, it'll rev itself as well.
The smell of gas fumes inside the car! it was bothering my throat with the a/c on!! went on-line to check if other owners had a similar complaint. sure enough, found gas puddling underneath the rear seat behind the passenger side on the gas sending unit!!!
2006, chrysler, 300c starboard fuel pump leaking from the plastic housing. i changed the o-ring and it still leaks gas. the gas puddles on top of the plastic gas pump housing. fumes accumulate in the passenger area and outside near the bottom of the car. this happens when the gas tank is above 1/2 full. it doesn't matter if the car is driving, running or the engine off.
I filled my car up and within 5 miles it stalled. this has happened several times. each time if i pull some fluid from the tank the car will remain running.
2006 chrysler 300c dies several times after refueling, which obviously disables the power steering. this will happen up to 10 times and then the car will run properly until the next refueling. this has been going on for over 18 months.
Vehicle stall with every fuel fill up. this has been happening for about a year now. scared to drive the vehicle anymore.
Initially the vehicle began to shut off and restart at various speeds ranging from 45-65 mph, mileage on the vehicle when the problem surfaced was approx .138,000. in 2016 after replacement of the pcm ,fuel tank, alternator, solenoid, battery, and cam shaft sensor the problem sporadically reoccurred every 300 miles, and failure has increased in frequency and now occurs regularly but sporadically at low speeds of 1-20 causing a full stall with no restart. the failure is typically at a light and when tempting aa turn. it has been observed during the high speed incidents, all electrical systems are in failure- dash lights go off, the analog rpm and speedometer gauges spontaneously drop to zero, and then the entire system restarts and gauges resume normal readings, all occurring within a few seconds at most. additionally the vehicle will not start after sitting for 3 hours, the electrical works but engine will not turn over. after each incident car was taken for a diagnostic reading and either no fault code was registered, or an engine communication failure code occurs. this has been an on going issue for the past 2 years.
My srt8 will stall shortly after filling up with fuel. at the moment of stalling, obviously the power steering and power brakes fail to work, which is very dangerous irregardless of where you are....
After each fuel fill up, the car's engine dies.
On mulitple occasions over the last year and a half that i've owned the car it has stalled in traffic after filling up at the gas station, the most recent occasion being 2/11/17. on every occasion i have filled the tank (filling only until the pump clicks off), left the gas station parking lot and made it no more than 1/4 mile before the car stalls - typically it will lurch forward 1-2 times very hard, then stall - i turn the key off, then back on and the car will start without incident, however, the lurching and stalling will happen 1-2 more times before the car drives without any incident (until the next fill up). only one time has the car stalled while in a stopped position (at a stop light), in all other instances the car was in motion on a city street (between 10-45mph) when the stalling has occured - on every occasion it has stalled more than 1 time (the most being 3).
Every time i fill up my gas tank my 2006 chrysler 300c ends up turning off at any stop, red light, or when i am slowing down. i always end up stopping traffic because of it. the vehicle ends up turning back on after a few times of trying to turn it on. i have had people make scenes at my window due to this. i have read online blogs of chrysler owners that have the same problem. they go to the dealer and replace the fuel tank. i have called auto parts stores and the fuel tank is pretty pricey. there are many more complaints on 300cforums.com
Started experiencing problems last year. car would cut off without warning, cut off while in a turn and i was almost hit by oncoming traffic. took it to the dealer, dealer stated it was pcm. had the control module fixed ($1000 repair) and now recently we have been experiencing an issue where the car wants to cut off at all speeds. today, my husband drove it to the gas station and it cut off on him and then wouldn't start back up. it started up a few min after sitting but traffic was too busy so we were unable to drive it home. it is still parked at the gas station and we are hoping well be able to get it home before having to call a tow truck. replaced spark plugs 1 1/2 weeks ago because we assumed it was misfiring (when it was wanting to cut off). we've changed the camshaft (prior to having the pcm replaced) and egr valve as well. there is no check engine light but have still attempted to get codes read... no codes. this seems to be an ongoing issue that chrysler needs to take care of. i will never buy another car that chrysler has had a hand in making..... how many complaints need to take place before you realize that this will kill someone... but i guess you'd rather a lawsuit on your hands for a death rather then fixing all these cars the right way. #unsatisfiedbuyer took a shot at this beautiful car and am sadly disappointed 2006 300c 5.7l hemi. whats the point of having such a beautiful car if you can't even drive it.
Today for the 1st time since i've had my chrysler 300c hemi 5.7 liter v8 just randomly stopped at a red light. after taking out the key and restarting the car back up it continued to run, but as soon as we drove off at a low speed you can hear the engine shake and stumble a bit and wanting to stop. i have never encountered problems before since i got it back in 2014.
The car will stall unexpectedly. often when idling at a stoplight, and sometimes when i am driving the oil light warning comes on, the engine cuts out, and power steering ceases to work. i must restart the car and rev the engine before proceeding, it has yet to happen while driving at high speeds on the freeway. on more than one occasion i have had the local chrysler dealership mechanics look at the car, and the problem still persists, usually with increased frequency after filling the gas tank to full. to reiterate, often when i am idling at a stoplight the chrysler 300 stalls. but this sometimes happens when i am in motion driving down a road as well. the mechanics i have had look at my car have found nothing wrong. but it usually happens with greater frequency right after i fill the gas tank to full.
I own a 2006 chrysler 300c. since 2013, i have experienced issues with the vehicle stalling while driving at low speeds. the car stops completely, sometimes restarting on its own, sometimes it does not. chrysler replaced the fuel tank in 2015, stating that was the cause of the issue, but the car continues to stall. most recently, it stopped while merging onto a busy highway, while driving with my wife and children in the car. the car randomly turns off, no warning. now the vehicle stopped and refuses to start at all.
After fueling, car stalled while in motion at slow speed exiting parking lot. stalled again a mile further when entering garage, both times while turning. car has 19000 miles.
Vehicle cuts off while backing out of parking spots, traffic lights, and stop signs. also while driving, the vehicle spudders like it's going to quit, and then suddenly surges at a high rate of speed. all of this is random, at different speeds, and is worse in the city when there is more stopping. no codes or lights are coming on, so a diagnostic can't be ran. my mechanic has had my vehicle for 2 weeks and can't determine the problem.
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 chrysler 300c. while coming to a stop at slow speeds, the vehicle stalled without warning. the vehicle was restarted. the failure occurred multiple times after the vehicle was refueled. the vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. in addition, the air bag warning light illuminated. the vin was included in nhtsa campaign number: 15v313000 (air bags). the vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 135,000.
I have had my car for about 3 years and i noticed that when i filled up the gas tank it would cut off. i thought that i was putting too much gas in it, so i stopped filling it up. then maybe 3-4 months ago it started acting as if it did not want to start or was not getting enought gas. so i started paying attention to what stores i went to, to get gas. two days ago, i tried starting my car and at first it would not start as if it was not getting enough gas, but then it finally started and as i was in traffic, making a right turn, it just cut off and would not start back up. i later learned that it is an unlimited recall on the fuel tanks for my car. i called several chryslaer dealerships, and it seems that when i told them what the problem was and that there was a recall on it they said they were not able to fix it for maybe a month or two and one dealership told me that because i had more than 150,00 miles on my car they won't fix it.
Car randomly stalls, at any speed, dash lights flash on and off, wipers turn on by them self , horn sounds by itself. had it at the dealership for 2 months, had at sometimes 40+ codes come up on the computer. changed multiply modules they cant figure it out
When i fill my gas tank with fuel, for the first mile or so it keeps dying at slows to stops. every stop or slow down for the first several minutes after fueling. it is a safety issue because it will die right in the middle of traffic or in a turn lane, and i am afraid i will be rear-ended. i have to put it into neutral or park to start it. sometimes it takes 3 to 4 tries to get it to start when it has stalled like this. this happens every time i fuel up now. the first incident was in 2016.
About a month ago, i filled up my vehicle with gas. i had my nieces in the car with me, and as i pulled away from the gas station, the car stalled and shut off in the middle of the road. i got it to crank back up before getting hit. it didn't have much power but finally gained its power back. every time i fill my tank up (not topping off, but stop once it clicks off) and i drive off, the car quits and has to be cranked back up. it appears to only happen when the car is filled up. this is happening only when it's filled up (which one needs to be able to do). this is scary and dangerous as when you pull off into traffic, the last thing you need is to have a car die on you and you get hit. please help! i see i'm not the only person who is having this problem.
After filling my gas tank, within minutes, my 2006 300c srt8 will stall or even shut off while driving, regardless of speed of vehicle. it does this at least 2 or 3 times. i feel this is a major safety issue.
Stalls after refueling. this is a serious problem and we have not been contacted by chrysler about this know problem!
I bought my car in january 2015. as of december 2015 it started stalling. it would start jerking when i gave it gas. it would shut off when i either tried to take off from a complete stop or when i was just stopped or in the middle of me driving within 40 mph. i took it to the chrysler dealership (not the dealer i bought it from) they diagnosed it was the wiring harness. i paid over $1200 to get it fixed. the same problem happened within 24 hours of me picking it up. it was there for almost 2 months, they said it did not do anything when it was there. only said i needed a new battery. i had them replace the battery. then it happened again about a month later. this time they diagnosed the fuel tank needed to be replaced. once work was complete i picked it up and less than 5 minutes after leaving i was broke down again. this is the 5th time its been there in the last 5 months. also i never received a refund after the mis-disgnosis! this is frustrating!
Car stalls after filling fuel tank. the stalling issue has been happening for almost 2 years now. online forums describe a known fuel tank gas fume evac system malfunction. only known fix is replacement of entire gas tank. if tank is filled only 3/4's full, the stalling does not occur. chrysler should be forced to recall the defective gas fume evac system and replace the fuel tanks. cars stalling in traffic is extremely dangerous. please help.
When i'm driving around 55 miles per hour on the highway or bellow the car once to surge and stall in the middle of driving. it will also stall stationary at a red light or stop sign but not all the time, seems after filling my tank up as when it starts acting. i'm on a quarter tank now in my car still keeps wanting to stall
Upon filling up the car with gas, the car stalled less than 500ft from the gas station. the car restarted and i drove 1/16th of a mile and as i was pulling out into traffic the car stalled again. the car has approximately 39300 miles on it.
When refueling our vehicle, using the correct grade of gas, not topping off the tank and allowing the fuel pump nozzle to shut off automatically when filled, we are experiencing life threatening episodes of stalling out when entering traffic from a gas station, or idling in traffic, turning corners, and entering ramps to the highway it will stall and choke when we try to start it back up. we wait approximately 3-5 minutes before attempting a restart without engaging the gas pedal. but still nothing happens. when it shuts off we forcibly have to turn the steering wheel because you lose power to your brakes, steering, etc. and just pray that nobody gets injured. during the stall out there are no warning lights shown on the dashboard. once we finally get it to hold a start, we must at high idle drive fast as possible, getting off the main road/highway/city street to immediately garage the car. then we have to have it run with the garage door open for at least 2.0 hours. and then we cautiously drive it with me following my husband to make sure it doesn't stall out again. once we get pass this stalling-out period the car behaves properly, and we have no further issues until we refuel again on a weekly basis. we only have this refueling issue when filling the car. it indeed is a problem that the chrysler group llc discussed in the letter we received may 8, 2014, in the 2nd paragraph "the affected vehicle population may experience a condition where the fuel shut-off float, in the multifunction control valve sticks, which may result in the vehicle stalling after refueling. this statement for us is definitely our problem. and we are planning to address it with the dealership asap. this has happened every week. the last time was october 30th 2015. we have now only filled it to the 3/4 mark and it has stopped stalling out temporarily.
Called chrysler (1-800-chrysler) about vehicle stalling after filling up gas tank after vehicle repeatedly stalled after filling up. i have a 2006 chrysler 300c awd w/ 5.7l hemi v8. google search showed nhtsa action #pe13016 extending gas tank warranty of all 2006 hemi-engined 300's. chrysler rep on the phone told me no such warranty existed after checking with supervisor. had to call local dealership (gurnee dodge) who was able to confirm that yes said warranty does exist and they would fix the issue. incredibly disappointing that chrysler lied to me. car first stalled on train tracks near my house, and the gates on the crossing started to close just as i got the car to clear the crossing! scared the wits out of me!
2006 chrysler 300c 5.7l hemi: engline stalls if i fill the gas tank to maximum as i make r or l turn leaving gas station . car will restart and stall again and again if/when i make a turn to the right or left until such time as level of gasoline in tank fails below the full mark. this is a problem on a long trip as it requies numerous extra stops for gas and stalling as i enter roadway or highway is dangerous for me and surrounding traffic/travelers.
The car will stall out at complete random times while it is in motion or sitting still in drive or in park. it has happened from 0 to 70 mph, it is completely random. i have read that this is a common occurrence on this model and chrysler has extended the warranties on the fuel tank to lifetime but for some reason my particular vehicle doesn't fall under this circumstance despite it being the exact same year, make, and model listed on the documents. i do not feel safe driving the car because i'm worried about stalling in the middle of an intersection or highway and it causing a wreck and harm to me or my family.
Vehicle stalled out at about 5 mph. next day vehicle stalled out at 65 mph on interstate. very dangerous situation. repair facility could find no problem, had expensive major tuneup, but problem still exists.
What happen is that i just got the car used, had it 3 days cut the car off would not start back, i called the people who i got the car from, they came and got it, had it for three weeks, could not fix it so they send it to a dealership they had it a month and a half still didn't fix it right, they said it was fixed but was not, i picked the car up drove it home 30 minutes, got home forgot something at the store got in car would not say anything, lights and radio and still came on but car would not start, i could smell gas and they came and got the car again never mine that i had only had the car 3 days, ok they put new cadillac converters on iti picked the car up,on my way home driving 20, car just cut off i thank god that no one hit me and it was 3 cars behind me i sat there for a minute and it started back but cut right off again, so i waited for a few more minutes, tried again, car started up and i went home cut car off, after 3 hours car was just dead would not do anything. again call the shop, they came in picked the car up and that aug, right now the car is in the shop, they cant seem to find out what's wrong with it, they put a lot of new parts on the car they said when they thank it is fixed they let the car run about a hour, but yet again it cuts off, something needs to be done about these cars cutting off while they are being drove, there are no recalls on these cars for that, there are many many complaints about the same thing , what is going on with chrysler don't they know that a person can get kill driving and the car cuts off at any speed, i have my grand baby's everyday, i will never want anything to happen to them or me, all i can say is something needs to be done. thank you *tr
My chrysler 300c has been stalling everytime i drive it. ive taken it to two chrysler dealerships. one of them charged me more then $300 for nothing because they couldn't even find the problem but ended up charging me for the time. the second dealership changed my fuel tank that chrysler gave a lifetime warranty on. it did not fix the problem. the car is still stalling at every stop i make. i think the problem isn't with the fuel tank because it did not fix the stalling issue. i think that its something to do with the wiring or computer. i also think that chrysler should fix this issue asap. they said it was the gas tank but its clearly not. why should i be paying thousands of dollars for a faulty problem that isnt my fault. i take care of my car and its only got 140,000km on it. chrysler told me that it would cost thousands of dollars to find the problem. please let me know what i should do. i think that chrysler said it was the fuel tank because that would be a cheaper way to handle with this issue other then spending hours to find the problem. chrysler should be fixing this problem not me. the car has died on me while making a left turn in the middle of a intersection. that is not safe and it has happened to me more then 20 times. i also feel like im damaging my car everytime i have to turn it back on. it also guzzles the gas more just by turning it back on everytime. please get chrysler to do something about this. if the car still has the stalling issue after getting the gas tank changed then atleast get chrysler to find the problem at no cost to me.
My cat stalled at a red light after fueling up my gas tank
When i fill the gas to full, the engine stalls and it happened in an intersection on a yellow light. very scarry. has happened several times since but this needs to be fixed
Filled car up at gas station and stalls at low speeds, also was stuttering at speeds of up to 30 mph. *tr
After topping off the gas tank the vehicle was driven two blocks where it was then pulled onto a busy access road in town. the vehicle was slowing down to a red light when the engine stalled for a moment, the oil pressure light came on, then immediately cut out and would not restart. after putting on hazard lights and attempting to call for a tow attempts were made to restart the car and after about 20 minutes of waiting the engine turned over and it was possible to pull the car off the road to a mechanic a block up. the car was scanned and no engine codes were found and oil pressure was found to be fine. the car was given a valve flush and started up fine after that. the incident repeated itself on 3/29/15 once more after filling up the tank, after going to blocks the car once more stalled and shut down. at this point i am very concerned for my safety with this vehicle if this is what is going to happen every time the car needs gas and this should be address with a recall after seeing so many complaints. *tr
I noticed that my car will stall out after i have filled the tank up with gas. i use the recommend gas grade the book said to use. the problem has been happening since february. it will drive away from the pump or gas station without a problem but will stall in traffic or while at a light i had the fuel pump replace a month ago and it will stall out i don't know what else the problem can be but a car stalling out in traffic can cause a accident. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 chrysler 300c. while driving approximately 30 mph, the engine stalled without warning. after restarting, the vehicle was driven to the contact's residence. the failure recurred five times only after the vehicle was refueled to full capacity. the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the engine needed to be replaced due to the faulty fuel tank roll over. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified. the approximate failure mileage was 44,000.
Car stalls at various speeds after gasoline fillup. very hard to restart. very dangerous condition. has shut off at high speeds as well as low speed. *tr
Car stalls/shuts off after refueling after driving a while stall stops until refueling again. took car to dealer they found nothing wrong with car, they charged me for replacement of the battery. car did the same thing after refueling. took it again today 2/15/15 and was told my car wasnt covered for the lifetime recall for the fuel tank float replacement, although im having the same symptoms for this year vehicle that clearly alot of other customers have had the same problem. *tr
This has happened at least 3 times in the last 2 years. i would fill up with fuel and after leaving the gas station the vehicle would stall causing me to lose power steering and brakes and having to stop in the middle of traffic. i received a alert from chrysler last year but have misplaced the letter. it stated that if i experienced this problem that i should take it to a dealer and they would replace the gas tank. *tr
