I brought my corolla 2010 to auto nation toyota tempe last december 11, 2015 for the recall of airbags lights illumination. before i brought it to auto nation, airbags lights remain illuminated after traveling long distances. after the repair on december 11, 2015 there will be time that the airbag lights remain illuminated after starting the engine traveling short distances. i called the service advisor about the problem, and he told me that they have done what is to be done, and told me to bring back the car to them and if the problem is not related to what they have done , i might be charged with diagnostic for $193.00. i am worried that they might say that it has a different problem not related to the recall. my only concern is why would the problem with airbag lights remain illuminated after they have repair it?

Recall (ntsb recall 14v168) issued on 04-09-2014. i received interim notice. in call today to toyota, they indicated parts, which originally were expected to be available by mid or late summer, are not available, and they do not know when parts will be available. it seems to me that 5 1/2 months since recall is too long to correct this safety condition. *tr

I [xxx] the owner of toyota corolla 2010 (license plate: [xxx], licensed with the state of maryland vin no: [xxx]), residing at [xxx], while trying to park in my residential apartments at the above mentioned address (at a speed of 3-5 mph), applied the brakes and all of a sudden it caused an unintended acceleration and i hit the huge metallic trash bins in front of me at a very high speed on october 28th, 2013. the airbags did not deploy, but the front of my car got damaged heavily. it has been towed away by my insurance company geico to one of their body shops. my left ear and neck are in great pain since then and my wife [xxx] who was the passenger along with me suffered left knee sprain. we have been in a state of utter shock and dismay since this incident as this was completely unexpected. i have been a safe driver since the past 7 years and have never had any accidents, violations etc. also i never mistook the gas pedal for the brake during my whole driving career and i use only one leg for this purpose. my vehicle when i purchased in 2010 was inspected 2-3 times for this and other issues by the dealer/toyota. the initial estimates as per my insurance agent are several grand (dollars) and the damage to the car is extensive. the insurance company's body shop is working on it. please see the attachments that show the car was taken to the toyota dealer within a few months of purchasing it for acceleration problems and also the edr reports, service statement showing that this model is a part of a open recall service by toyota. i opened a case with toyota usa headquarters about the unintended acceleration that caused the accident yesterday. the case# is [xxx]. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr ... updated 03/19/15*bf *tr
Vehicle is impacted by takata pass bag faulty, no resolution informed by toyota advised toyota to refund money in regards to paying $21k, also vehicle has clatter under passenger side cv axle, have been in several times for solution or resolution to this issue more than 3 times to date there stating no problem is there, if car i jacked up i hear clear noise between cv axle and transmission, this was brought to toyotas attn. once at toyota of irving twice at toyota of dallas and was shown to me at ntb tire to have axle or transmission irregular noise clatter when put in drive while on lift up 5 ft with one tech in car and another under vehicle with me pointing out clearly there is noise on passenger side. yet toyota denies this or any noise to be a problem or hazard nor to acknowledge any noise exist, also brought car in for brake growl when i step on brakes, the rear brakes have not been changed by me and are not aftermarket brakes unless toyota installed them, the car was purchased from dealer, i took car back 4 times in regards to brake issues back to dealer no problem found. *tr
I made a left hand turn and was hit on the front passenger side. the force of the hit spun my car in a full circle, damaged the entire front of the frame, knocked off the front bumper, caused the trunk to open, and caused severe damage spanning the whole front end of the car including the driver's side door which i was unable to open. during this accident, the airbags did not deploy. the estimated cost for repair for my corolla was 13,000 dollars. *tr
I was driving at approx. 65 mph and due to an off-center feeling and a lax steering wheel, lost control of my vehicle. under no fault of my own i subsequently crashed into a guard rail, spun across lanes of traffic, and did not have any airbags deploy despite losing my front bumper, front bumper support beam, radiator, fans, headlight, had my door pinned in, hood crushed, and missing my passenger headlight. the vehicle was not totaled since no frame damage was done and none of the airbags deployed. *tr
The driver-side airbag failed to deploy in a side-impact collision. the estimated speed of impact was between 40 & 45 mph, directly striking between the driver door and the front driver-side wheel. toyota corporate customer service center was contacted, and replied that the system performed as designed. while not an expert in airbag design and operation, i cannot imagine a more clear-cut situation where the airbag should have deployed to protect the occupants. the vehicle has been declared "totaled" by the insurance company, but photos of the vehicle are available. *tr
The toyota was going aprox 60mps in slow lane of nys interstate 84 and was rear ended by another vehicle and was pushed into a guardrail at side of interstate. toyota has extensive damage to rear and front ( car is totaled). driver side air bag did not deploy on toyota upon impact with guard rail. as a result of impact from the rear and the front, driver of the toyota received laceration which required stitches, swelling and black a blue marks to facial and nose area, and a head concussion which required a 3 day stay at a hospital. the issue and concern is non-deployment of driver side air bag on the toyota at that rate of speed. new york state police has an accident report. *tr
Experienced a car accident on 1/28/2013, the car has been estimated as totaled as per all state car insurance. my issue and concern is that the air bags did not deploy, although the vehicle was hit in both the front and back into the guard rail on the highway. please investigate if this is a safety issue, or if the sensor did not pick up the crash. *tr

When i purchased this vehicle, i immediately felt an awkwardness with the brakes. anytime i began to stop & the road was less than perfect, the brakes locked up & i seemed to slide to a stop. the feeling was almost like stopping on gravel or hydroplaning, just no control felt. when i complained about this, i was told that's how the new brakes are (i had previously owned an older vehicle) & the brake inspection found nothing. i have been in two mvas prior, once i was rear ended & the other time someone ran a stop sign & hit me. 10/12/11 i rear ended another vehicle & was also rear ended in the proocess. when i went to brake suddenly that day, the car slid into the vehicle in front of me. i am a very conscientious driver. i have always been told that when someone rear ends another vehicle, it is automatically their fault. i have since purchased another new vehicle, different manufacturer, and being told the toyota brakes were right, couldn't be further from the truth. 10/10/11 i had lab work performed & was diagnosed as being pregnant. this accident two days later, the airbags didn't deploy, either. the hood of the car came in through the windshield on me, the car has been deemed a total loss. there were two faulty toyota parts that failed me and my unborm child that day-the brakes and the airbags. i get to have surgery 10/28/11 to remove the now nonviable child from my womb. i equate this loss to the failures on toyota's part. *tt
I was at a complete stop behind a gmc yukon as we waited for traffic to move, i lightly tapped the gas petal as our vehicles began to move & my 2010 toyota corolla le lunged forward as if i pressed full force (which i did not) slamming into the yukon. the air bags did not deploy either. *ln

Takata recall. we just received the recall info and were determined to be in zone b because the vehicle was registered in ct. however, the vehicle was purchased in florida in 2013, where it originated. my daughter was in school in florida so the car was there until she graduated in may of 2016. we moved to north carolina, renting since april 2016 and now owning since june 2016. all this is to say that the car, since it's origination has resided 95% of the time in florida and virtually not at all in ct. we feel the vehicle should be placed into zone a, due to it having been mostly in fl and now in nc and especially since my daughter and her friends use the car for the majority of the time.
Tl*the contact owns a 2010 toyota corolla. when the contact drove through a red light at 45 mph, the vehicle was struck abruptly on the driver side door by another vehicle. the vehicle was spun around, the contact was knocked unconscious and the side air bags did not deploy. the contact was transported to the hospital via ambulance due to a minor neck injury. a police report was filed. the vehicle was destroyed. the manufacturer provided an investigator to further inspect the failure. the investigator found that because there was not enough damage to the rocker panel and the b pillar, the air bag did not deploy. the manufacturer did not offer any further assistance. the vin was not available. the failure and current mileage was 9,000.
On sunday august 2, 2010 around 4 a.m., i was driving down the freeway approximately 60/mph. i was about to exit when i realized there was an abandoned vehicle blocking my exit lane. it was impossible for me to swerve to the right or to the left. i directly hit the car going at a speed about 55/mph. my bumper came off and was stuck to the abandoned car with the rest of the front of the vehicle destroyed. my air bags did not deploy, which now i and my passengers in the accident feel unsafe. it could have caused serious personal injuries but we were really lucky. i have not even had my vehicle 2010 toyota corolla for 2 weeks and it concerns me that there can be other effects. i have been in other car accidents before going at a lower speed and the air bags deployed right away. *tr

To toyota : sending out an interim recall notice #16v-340 saying you are preparing a remedy is not satisfactory this recall has been ongoing for months and a remedy should have already been completed. toyota had plenty of time to prepare this remedy. advising owners not to drive vehicle with passengers in front is certainly not conducive when you only have one vehicle to use. you should provide another vehicle in the meantime.
While making a left-hand turn, my wife, driving our 2010 toyota corolla, was struck by a driver running a red light. the other driver (in a volvo wagon) did not see the light, nor break, striking the corolla on the driver's side door and wheel area at approx. 35-40 mph. the force of the impact was enough to crumple the corolla's door and wheel area, leaving the car totaled. no airbags deployed, not even the side airbags, leaving my wife with a concussion from the accident. the 2010 toyota corolla was purchased new this past fall, had only 9,000 miles on it and had sustained no previous damage or accidents. the mechanics at the autoshop where the car was deemed totaled said that they had no clue as to why the airbags did not deploy. since the car was new, i am wondering if there was a defect in the airbags that prevented them from going off. *tr
